Slippy ran into his room and almost tripped over a belt on the floor. "I need you, you, you, you, and you." He thought aloud as he grabbed some things and ran out towards the hangar, now with a SBP-11 Beam Pistol held to his hip by a magnetic holster, wireless earbuds connected to the cell phone in his pocket playing music, and metal collar around his neck with a button on it, and a similar set of gloves with lines of small emitters along the back of the fingers similar to that of work gloves, and a metal bracelet attached to the wrist on the gloves. The glove-and-helmet sets were an experimental project he had been working on but forgot to bring on the trip to the Sol system and back which would emit a force field bubble around the head of the wearer upon button press, similar effects achieved by the gloves by creating a sort of force field gloves, locked with tapping morse code on the then shielded collar or bracelet, '...-..' to deactivate, carrying two more sets of gloves and collars under his left arm. He was wearing his standard ballistic weave lined jumpsuit with a tool pouch on his belt containing things that might have proven useful on the expedition.
Once he reached the hangar, he briskly walked in, humming along to 'Livin' In The Sunlight, Lovin' In The Moonlight' sung by Bing Crosby. He pulled the sliding door open and placed the collar-and-gloves sets on the back seat. Taking his own seat at the helm, he stuck his thumb to the thumbprint scanner and the shuttle came to life with a sharp hum.
Soon, the two foxes were also approaching the hangar, both wearing their armored flight suits, Fox had his pair of blasters affixed to magnetic holsters and his headset on his head, extra blaster batteries and his cellphone in his pocket.
Krystal wore an identical headset and had the laser sword on her right hip and her currently collapsed staff on her right back where it could easily be grabbed and slid off the magnet in one fluid motion.
"You sure we should bring weapons to this?"
Krystal asked while yawning. "It's just a naturally impossible hole."
Fox looked over at her. "After not bringing a gun to Sauria I'm not leaving em' home for any form of expedition unless ordered not to."
Upon reaching the hangar they saw the shuttle hovering a couple feet off the ground, the overhead doors open for takeoff. Opening the door, Fox climbed in the shuttle and held his hand out to Krystal.
"Such a gentleman." She smiled and took his hand for him to help her up into the craft, giving him a quick peck on the cheek upon getting in. Fox shut the door behind her.
"You guys ready back there? This thing doesn't have functioning inertial dampening so you might want to sit down." Slippy said from the front.
"Shotgun!" Krystal shouted as she quickly took the seat next to Slippy.
"Hey!" Fox chuckled and sat behind her.
"I have some gear for the two of you in the back seat. Pretty much the techy equivalent of a helmet and work gloves. You can activate them with the red buttons and deactivate them by tapping this." He tapped the code on the arm rest. "The reason I didn't just buy personal force field harnesses is because it turns out that a civilian, even a mercenary, can't legally own one, but there's no rule about helmets and gloves, I asked Peppy a few months ago." He said, piloting the small non-spaceworthy starship out of the hangar. He pressed a button the deactivated the force field dome, reactivating it upon going through.
"How am I just now hearing about this?" Fox asked, picking up one of the collars and latching it around his neck.
"I talked to Krystal ahead of time so she wouldn't hear me thinking about it and possibly tell the rest of you." Slippy sped up, activated the shuttle's autopilot, and set a course for Tritari.
Fox stumbled and got back in his seat with his pair of gloves in one hand. "How long do the batteries last?" He asked.
"About nine hours for the helmet and unless an anvil or something gets dropped on your head and the gloves'll last around ten."
"Huh. Good job."
6:32 AM CT, Tritari Cave System
A male Cornerian fox with dark hair, orange fur, and brown eyes, dressed in the armor of a Cornerian soldier entered the cave where the hole was found. Two human researchers stood nearby with strange matching symbols on the right breast pockets of their lab coats, an outlined circle with three arrows crossing its contour and pointing to the center. The structure was closed in a thin frame, which repeated its silhouette - a circle with three protruding rectangles around the arrows' tails, and a human soldier wearing a strange security uniform with the same symbol on a patch on his right arm and an orange visored black helmet, holding what looked like a gas blowback powered dart gun.
The closest one looked up from taking notes and saw the Cornerian. "Agent Walker, I trust you've been debriefed on your mission?" She inquired, placing her pen in her breast pocket.
"Yep. All set." The fox replied and leaned against the wall.
"Then we'll take our leave. Good luck"
She pressed a button on a wrist mounted communicator and spoke into it. "Dala to SCPS. Starstruck, Three to transport."
All three humans disappeared in individual flashes of white light, transported to a cloaked TR-4F Umbra Class AGC.
That's right. This is a surprise crossover.
