Dethklok gathered around the conference table as Nathan finished reading off Charles letter explaining that the cult had contacted him for more details and that his leave would be "Indefinite."

"What does 'indefinites' means?" Toki asked as Nathan finished reading the letter.

"It means hes not comin back fer a while and that he doesn't know when he'll be back." Pickles answered.

"Yeah I mean, he left pretty abruptly so it must be some serious business if Charles left without saying goodbye to all of us." Nathan responded.

"Have you been reading?" Murderface asked crassly, "Been usching a lot of big wordsch recently..."

"I read books. It's my, my hobby." Nathan grumbled

"Hobbys? Ha! Let's me guess yous gets a library cards too eh?" Skwisgaar teased.

"Bets he does books reports only to himselfs haha!" Toki laughed.

"You guys cant even read text messages, you use Google translate instead." Nathan said back.

"Ah! That's true!" Pickles laughed, "or when they use voice recorder to respond."

"Ya even hear them through the wallsch!" Murderface added.

"Yous knows our deathphones not nordic friendlys!" Skwisgaar scowled.

"Yeah dese phones racists!" Toki cried out.

"Alright alright enough shit talking for now." Nathan paused, "We survived without Ofdensen before, only this time we have Abigail and Knubbler here, so let's not fuck this up. Got it?"

Smirking Pickles and Murderface nodded as the guitarists shrugged a 'whatever.'

"Also one more thing," Nathan said putting the letter down, "I'm gonna need your guys help with this one. Uhmm... I'm not sure what he said about Melody. All he said was to "watch over her," which I dont know how to take this as."

"Watch over her? What does he want, us to be like secret police and spy on er?" Pickles said

"Ya, I dont spy on kids, fucking schick." Murderface retorted.

"I have hundreds of goofballs running arounds but I'm no fathers. I paid my lawyers for thats." Skwisgaar added.

"Last things ams watched overs was goats back in Norway." Toki said.

"Here's the thing," Nathan groaned out, "I dont know how I can relate to a 13 year old, I havent been 13 in years so it's kind of like...what do I do to "watch over" her?"

"Haven't been a father to anyone, my own father wasn't even a father he was more just like a ghost yknow?" Pickles said.

"Hmmph." Nathan tried to think about the situation they were in. He could just pass off the responsibility to Abigail but the band needed her more as a leader in place. He knew they had no other choice but to interact more and take care of Melody as a team.

"With goats in Norways we just gives them food, water, a barns, and sometimes I'd play them some musics." Toki said.

"They liked music?" Pickles asked confused.

"Yup. I'd play thems some death metal records at the times. They loves it!" Toki said smiling thinking about skipping the sheep.

"I think we have a solution now. We'll involve her musically to keep her occupied." Nathan said.

"Oooh I dont know about that one Nathan." Murderface said cautiously.

"Whys?" Skwisgaar asked.

"Becausche. Involving her in Dethklok music would make the schound different."

"Who said anything about Dethklok? We'll have her make her own music in the studio as a way to keep her busy. I'm sure if she's gonna have that she won't get bored and start doing drugs and then have Ofdenson mad at us for that."

"She does drugs when shes bored?" Toki asked slightly worried.

"No but I remember my teenage years being something like that. Just get fucked up on whatever when I had nothing to do." Nathan explained.

"Yeah I dont want Charles getting mad at us if he comes back and finds her strung out and holds it against us or whatever. Good thinkin Nathan." Pickles said.

"Yeah good idea and all, but I mean...sches 13. 13 year oldsch dont have a good taschte in muschic..." Murderface cringed in annoyance.

"You dont have to participate if you dont want to Murderface it's not like you participate making music in Dethklok anyways." Nathan argued.

"Aw schuck it!" Murderfaced yelled crossing his arms.

Pickles chuckled out, "Shes probably gonna be a better song writer than you ever could!"

The band all started laughing at Murderface as he crossed his arms tighter and scowled. At the end of the meeting they all agreed to bond with Melody more as Charles would be away for a while. Only thing on Nathan's mind was how Melody's involvement will get things rolling to find her purpose and how that interacts with the church of the Blackklok. As long as the rest of the band didn't find out too soon.

Melody woke up past noon still in last night's clothes. Getting up to open the window to get fresh air in, she washed her face and got into comfortable clothes. No longer feeling sick she made her way down to the kitchen to make something to eat.

Dashing into the downstairs kitchen she made herself breakfest from the stocked fridge. She had realized she had gotten used to the sounds of silence throughout the day as there was no other people than her, a few servants, and of course Dethklok roaming around.

Checking her phone, she saw a few text messages from her friends Margaret and Athena. Both begging her to call them soon. She figured to start calling Athena first as it seemed urgent.

"Hello? Hey ginger, why were you blowing up my phone?" Melody asked Athena in a yawn.

"Hey tonight be ready to record with Sonny, Angel, and Andre remember? They both want you to sing some parts with them?"

Nearly spitting out all her orange juice Melody coughed and cleared her throat. She almost forgotten about the songs she was supposed to sing and in her own thoughts regretted the decision.

"Aww man," she groaned over the phone with her hand on her forehead. "Okay I'll try to see if the robot will let me out again after what happened last night. I'm sure he's pissed at me. I said some out of line things..." Melody felt a sting of guilt as she remembered some of the few words she exchanged with her cousin.

"Ok, well let me know whatever happens. I'm sorry about you and your cousin, hope it works out. Also I think it's a good idea if you call Margaret, she has some news for you~" Athena sang with a giggle as the call ended.

"Oh god..." Melody groaned as she thought about cutting lose to Margaret and telling her she changed her mind about singing with those guys. The feeling of insecurity crept up about the whole thing.

Before deciding on calling, Toki and Skwisgaar entered the kitchen. The two guitarists were surprised to see Melody so late in the day.

"Goodmornings!" Skwisgaar said warmly, "Hope's yous slept goods. Charles told us what's happends."

Melody suddenly glowed a beet red, Toki elbowed Skwisgaar arm.

"Shhh! We ams not suppose to says that, that's was privates!"

"Oh haha, it's alright I mean I saw you wasted so now you know about my night outs. So its alright." Melody said clearly flushed. However, the thought dawned on her, did Charles vent to the band openly about just that night? Or has her cousin been sharing with the band about their interactions since she got there? Melody felt immediately vulnerable and needed to know just how much the band knew about her through Charles.

"So where is Charles anyways?" Melody squeaked out trying to avoid more embarrassing details.

"Oh he lefts last nights. Has a business trip to attends to. We don't knows when he'lls be back." Toki said while washing some strawberries in the sink. Him and Skwisgaar had to remember not to tell Melody about their "situation."

"Yups unfortunately you're stuck with us goofballs but doesn't means we can't have any funs," Skwisgaar said optimistically, "anythings you're doing todays?"

Melody relaxed as the swede was being very nice and charming which helped put her at ease. "Well, I have to meet with some friends today. I dont want to be late so I'm gonna get ready after breakfest and go as soon as possible."

"Your friends really that punctuals? Am kids not usually lates?" Toki asked.

Skwisgaar added, "Nahhh, maybe she's out to do somethings else Toki not ours business."

Toki then had an idea.

"Heys how abouts Skwisgaar and I drive you to yours friends house?" He said smiling at Melody.

Just then Skwisgaar pulled Toki aside, "What ams yous doing? Yous cants drive only I cans here. I ams not a chauffeur." Skwisgaar said clearly upset.

"We have to gets to know hers best. I reads online a ways to connects with child is drive them to friends house and back. Its a ways to create trusts." Toki pleaded, "Please Skwisgaar, let's gets to know her, no telling whens Charles will be back."

Sighing deeply Skwisgaar surrendered, "Fine but just this once, you ams need to get a drivers license soons."

Melody watched as the two men talked amongst each other, she was surprised they would offer to drive her since she has been relying on the klokateers. She considered it a nice gesture and decided to accept. As they were turning back to talk again she said, "I'm not against it, just let me get ready right now and I'll meet you downstairs?" She said thinking that would be the best space to ask questions about what Charles had been telling them.

Toki smiled as Skwisgaar look slightly annoyed having to go through with being a driver for a day.

Descending the stair case Melody checked her purse to make sure she had everything. Including a knife Athena had gifted her not too long ago. Melody could never shake the feeling of being vulnerable around too many people she didn't know, a feeling she was still accustomed to being in foster care. She knew it was just another thing for her to overcome at a later date. Smoothing out her dark red leather skirt and black long sleeve crop top, she tugged her dark denim jacket over her shoulders as her knee high boots finally made it to the downstairs foyer where both Toki and Skwisgaar were waiting.

Smiling at them, she noticed something changed in their expressions when they saw her. A look of confusion? She knew it was probably the way she dressed and did her makeup. They didn't make any comments on her appearance as they made it to Skwisgaars car, but she guessed they were uneasy at how much different she looked. Sitting in the back seat with Toki she decided to make a bit of small talk.

"Hey, why did Charles spill about me showing up drunk last night?" Melody asked.

The guitarists glanced at each other in the rear view mirror and remembering to leave some details out.

"Hmmm," Toki began, "It wasn't really in persons, he lefts a letter saying how he would be gones for a while and thats as soons as yous wakes up from a hangovers to let you knows."

Skwisgaar asked, "He didn't tell you anything last nights about hims leaving?"

Melody tried to remember every bit of drunk conversation, but couldn't remember anything about him leaving just that he was disappointed in her. "I'm not sure, I dont exactly remember much that was said only that I got into a fight with him."

"What ams happens?" Toki asked worried.

Sighing, Melody responded, "I don't know, I think he was just really disappointed with me getting fucked up with my friends. But I mean I wasn't in any danger he knows where I am at all times because of the tracker he gave me. I wish he wasn't such a spaz."

Toki saw her emotions well enough to know she wasn't frustrated but sad about something. Wrapping an arm around her shoulder, Toki comforted her and said, "Manys dont knows what family is, they ams people that you hates. But sometimes they ams people that care enough about yous to the point of suicides."

Skwisgaar then added, "Wes cants picks and choose families but at least we know who we comes from or relates to. I dont likes my moms, but she knows how frustratings it can bes having the same peoples begs to haves another one night stands with you. Sometimes you relates."

Toki raised an eyebrow, questionable as to how Melody can relate to that. But she nevertheless understood.

"Thanks you guys. I guess its something to get used to since having a permanent family is weird to me. And him being my cousin and not my actual parents still is gonna feel pretty distant for me. But I'm trying to adjust." Melody said slightly blushing at Toki's hand resting on her shoulder. She couldn't help but noticed how strong his hands were and thought it could be from his upbringing, guitar playing, or maybe a possible workout routine he had. She had to stop staring otherwise he may notice.

"Uhh, the street is coming up soon its my friend Margaret's house." Melody stammered.

Pausing to look at navigation, Skwisgaar noticed it would be an orange house. Pulling up on the other side of the street, Melody said out nervously, "Right here is fine, maybe at 10 you or the klokateers can pick me up here. Thank you guys so much again." Smiling, Toki got out to open the door for her and gave her a hug goodbye. Melody blushed again as he told her to be safe. Crossing the street, the guys took off in the car, leaving Melody alone on the sidewalk in front of her friends house. Reliving the embrace especially the feeling of Toki's strong arms and back, Melody shook her head and remembered she had singing to do now. Thinking about Toki could wait later.
