Quinn grimaced as she slid behind a parked car to get her bearings, she could hear her heart beating in her ears as she took the moment to catch her breath and ignore the fact that her arm was currently a bloody mess. She hated dark magic. This was what the templars were trying to protect against. Whoever had summoned this monster, was probably long dead by now, leaving this demon to roam the earth killing others and turning them into Revenants. Half a town gone.

This was what Rachel and the rest of the world rarely saw, and that was because the Templars took care of it, at great expense to themselves. Four of her team were already dead, and she could feel her own blood pouring down her arm. "Shit," Quinn muttered. Take out the demon, get rid of the revenant. All she needed was a clean shot.

Okay she needed a plan, even if it was a terrible one she needed to do something. Killing the demon would probably end the revenants and then she could—a loud thump and the car shaking caused Quinn to look up at the demon in question, as the scraping sound of its oversized claws hit the car shredding it.

She wasn't sure if it was a roar or a yell, but she gets splattered with its saliva as she reaches for to her pocket once more pulling out a string of miniature grenades, a new weapon that she'd managed to request for this stupid mission. She hadn't expected to actually use them, but now was basically as good a time as any. She's about to throw it when she gets hit hard, and she's certain that she can feel her ribs break with the force of the blow.

She skids across the gravel, bouncing twice before her body comes to a stop. She could no longer use her left arm, she wasn't sure if it was broken or if her shoulder had been separated. All she knew was that she was currently fading fast and if she didn't do something now, she would die in Argentina of all places. She really fucking hated dark magic. She looks around spotting the string of grenades on the ground where she had dropped them and manages to inch her broken body towards it as she picks up the string and pulls it towards her.

The clicking sound gets closer and there's another roar, with all the effort she can manage, Quinn throws the string of grenade towards the demon's mouth and draws her pistol as it aimlessly drops onto its shoulder. She had missed her intended target but with the little energy she had left she draws her pistol and takes careful aim and pulls the trigger.

The explosion sends her flying again but this time she skids to a halt, pain radiating through her body she was certain that her uniform was singed but at this moment all she knew was that the black spots were spreading across her vision and she felt nauseated even through the pain, as her body went completely limp.

Quinn's eyes snap open and she stares at the ugly fluorescent lighting and the steady beeping sound that quickly grates on her nerves. She winces as she attempts to move, "Fuck." Quinn mutters feeling the pain radiating as her bed is jostled. Suddenly Finn's face fills her vision. "Finn?"

"You're alive!" Finn said about to pull her into a hug before remembering that Quinn was very much in traction and he manages to stop himself. There was worry etched onto his face, "You've been out since we found you, the doctors weren't sure—"

Quinn stared at him and tried to smile but her face hurt. "Water? How long was I out?"

"Two days." Finn said looking around the room till he spots a pitcher of water and some paper cups. He quickly pours her a drink before frowning it would be easier to drink with a straw. "I'll get a nurse to get you a straw," he says quickly turning to go and find a nurse.

Quinn frowns as she continues to stare at the ceiling, she'd been hurt before but never like this. She tilts her head as much as she can and looks at her left arm which is tightly bound to her chest. She had expected a cast or something, for all the pain she was currently in, she half expected a cast. She waits patiently for Finn to come back with a straw and a nurse in tow, and she looks at the nurse. "What's broken. It feels like there are things broken."

"I'll get the doctor to discuss this with you, but I'm very glad that you're awake Ms. Fabray. Your father has been in to see you every day and he's a very—intense man. But I'll let him know that you're awake if you want."

Quinn attempted to nod, but that was a mistake and she winces in pain. She hadn't expected her father to show up, but then again it probably looked good, but if he was in a magnanimous mood she was going to make him put her back on the case. She was certain she could lead the investigation from her bed. She takes a small sip of water that Finn offers her.

The doctor doesn't take long to arrive and brings up Quinn's information, "You got lucky Ms. Fabray. Exceptionally so. Separated shoulder, a pneumothorax due to fractured ribs, all of which we operated on. I mean the list of injuries is extensive and while I could list them out for you, I think it's for the best that you rest Ms. Fabray."

"There isn't anything that we can use to speed up recovery?" Quinn pressed.

"We can give you something to take the pain away in small doses but given the extent of your injuries there is a high chance you might develop a dependency."

Quinn closed her eyes. "How long till I'm medically cleared?"

"You're not going out into the field for a long time Quinn, but it'll be a few weeks until you can do paperwork at least. Cheer up though, I'm certain that you'll get a promotion for your work in Argentina, you saved a lot of lives."

"Joy," Quinn muttered under her breath. This wasn't what she wanted at all.

Finn immediately touches her hand gently, "I'll take some time off, I've got the days and the Seneschal—"

"No. No, I've gotten you in enough trouble lately," Quinn said forcing a smile to her lips. When Finn looks ready to protest she gives him the best look that she can muster given the circumstances. "Finn, you're just going to be bored with me. From the sounds of it, I'm just going to be sleeping Finn."

"I know but—" he sighs and looks away. "I should have been there with you. We're supposed to have each other's backs and you could have died."

"Or you could have died," Quinn says stretching out her pinky to touch Finn's and she smiles when he flashes her that dopey grin of his.

The doctor cleared his throat, "She's going to need her rest Mr. Hudson and it's past visiting hours. You can come back tomorrow."

Finn made a face, "You're sure she's going to be fine?"

"She'll be here tomorrow Mr. Hudson and for the next little while." The doctor insisted even as Finn huffed at this.

"It's done."

Russell looked up at Sue, it takes him a moment to realize what she's talking about, "I never gave the order for that, with Quinn—"

"We're wasting to many resources Russell, I know you want to find her, but chances are she's gone for good. We needed to close this case, we're allowing to many incidents to slip through the cracks. Quinn's unfortunate injuries were merely because we didn't send enough people to back her up. Did we really expect much from the Argentinian Branch? Truly?"

Russell stands to his feet, Sue was right, and his stubbornness had nearly cost him another daughter, this was why he trusted her judgement when it came to these personal matters. With a heavy sigh he looks at her after rubbing his face, he'd been worried about Quinn. "Judy hasn't forgiven me, it's been nearly nineteen years and she still hasn't forgiven me. If I had lost Quinn—" his voice grows thick with emotion for a moment, before he clears his throat. "Use your two most trusted soldiers, and have them continue the search, quietly. Let everyone else go back to their regular duties."

"Understood." Sue pulls away for a moment before turning to look at him. "And Quinn?"

"You know why she can't have any magical intervention—"

"That's not I'm saying, I'm asking which one of us should tell her that the case that she's been obsessed with has been closed? She's awake now, it's a long road to recovery."

Russell looked at his paperwork, "You do it, and inform her she's been promoted to the next rank as well."

Sue raised a brow, "You've held Quinn back—"

"If she was my son, I would have done the exact same thing. I will not have anyone questioning her talents because of nepotism. She's done more than prove herself this time, and as such a quick promotion has been earned."

Sue snorted, "You're soft on her, and she doesn't even realize it how much you're protecting her."

"That will be all Sue," Russell said dismissively, he said going back to his paperwork.

Rachel huffed as she crawled out of bed and grabbed a robe, if it was Quinn again, she as going to tell her in no uncertain terms where to jump off. It was far too early in the morning to deal with Quinn. It was a rare day off, and she had planned to lounge around for the day after she finished her morning schedule. She checks the peephole and pauses, her heart dropping, as she opens the door.

The red and white cross pattée on his shoulders was a dead giveaway to the person he was. He was in full uniform, the leather black, red and white jacket wasn't unfamiliar to her, most templars wore the colours though there were variations in their uniforms, she was certain Quinn had the female version of the uniform. As far as she knew there was only one reason why a templar would be at her door, well she could think of several reasons, but despite how hard her heart was beating in her chest she pushes a smile onto her face and faces him. "May I help you?"

The large man blinks and looks down at her for a moment, confusion crosses his face. "Rachel Berry?" He asks looking at the piece of paper in his hand.

"That's me what's this about?" Rachel said evenly. The man smiles at her and she takes a step back reflexively.

"You need to come with me."

Rachel blinked, "I don't know who you are. And while I support the templars, my parents did teach me to never just walk off with a strange man. That uniform could be fake." She can see his temper flare at the accusation. "So, unless you tell me exactly who you are and why you want me to follow—"

"Quinn's in the hospital. She said that you were her friend." He interrupts.

Rachel froze, "Hospital—what is she—" Rachel takes a step towards the man before remembering she was only wearing a robe. "Let me please put on some clothes." She states looking at him. "You never told me your name?"

"Finn Hudson, Quinn's fiancé," A frown crossed Finn's face. "She never told you about me?"

Rachel stared at him, for a moment. Quinn had never exactly shown her a picture and she could see why he didn't look like the smartest person in the world. "You're Finn?" She said using her entire acting repertoire to fake the astonishment. "She tells me all the time what a great guy you are," that was mostly true, and it brings a smile to Finn's face.

"She said you were a celebrity," Finn offers after a moment.

"Minor for now, I'm an actress, she met me after one of my performances and we hit it off," Rachel said as Finn nods. "I'm sorry it's just rather early and I wasn't expecting anyone, please come in Finn."

Finn nods, "I'm sorry for demanding you follow me, but normally civilians aren't allowed into our hospitals, but since I outrank Quinn I said I'd do this for her. I should have introduced myself."

Rachel didn't say anything right away, "Would you like anything? Tea? Coffee?" She offers, she was going to murder Quinn. She knew that Quinn was bold but to pull this off? Quinn had to be reckless.

"No thanks," Finn said politely as he watched her, he could certainly see why she was an actress, she was certainly beautiful enough, but he shoves the thoughts out of his mind immediately. She was Quinn's friend, normally templars kept to themselves but he could sort of understand, there weren't that many female templars, so Quinn couldn't talk about women stuff.

Rachel nods and immediately heads to her room too quickly change, "I know she was in Argentina for a bit, is she okay?"

"She will be, but she won't be going out for Templar business anytime soon, her injuries were bad," Finn said turning his back and facing the door.

Rachel froze, but quickly threw together an outfit and pulled it on. She didn't even care that it wasn't the most fashionable, she needed to see Quinn. She exits the room and blinks at Finn who was standing with his back towards her. "I'm decent," she says with an amused smile on her face, as he turns around. He was sweet and even though she was jealous of his relationship with Quinn she could see why Quinn enjoyed his company. He seemed sweet and protective of Quinn, and he seemed to know what she went through as a Templar. "Let's go see Quinn."
