Hey another new fanfic here! I decided to make a crossover to one of my favorite movies Zootopia, basically with the movie story line, but with CatDog in the mix. In my opinion, I think CatDog is a very underrated cartoon, because there is not enough fanfic for those two. This is my first CatDog fanfic and probably isn't the last enjoy :)
Deep within the very dark, depths of the jungle, all is quiet and still…
"Fear, treachery, bloodlust."
A small little rabbit appeared, exploring down on the forest floor, curious as a cat, wandering like there is nothing to worry about a little.
"Thousands of years ago, these were the forces that ruled our world. A world where prey were scared of predators."
Unaware to the cute, harmless, little creature as it wondered off somewhere else, little does it know that it is being watched… by a jaguar… who hungers for the small animal…
The bunny then stopped, as it then comes across a small watering hole, and takes the time to drink.
"And predators had an uncontrollable biological urge to maim and maul, and…"
The rabbit suddenly stopped as it hears the jaguar's growl, realizing that it wasn't alone.
But too late! The bunny turned sadly in time to see the beast suddenly pounce at it and-
"ROAR!"
"AAHH!"
The young jaguar then used its fake claw gloves on the young bunny girl, slashing them like he was striking the bunny as she screamed.
"BLOOOOOD! BLOOOD! BLOOODDD!" The bunny shouted throwing a bunch of red ribbons in the air. She then laid down pretending that she was dying. She then reached out for a ketchup bottle and started squirting it over herself and the floor. "Gaahh! AND... DEATH..." She said as she squirted the bottle one more time.
In the audience, a small golden two headed-creature, with brown spots has a a kitten on one side and a puppy on the other side. The kitten had a blue shirt on, while the puppy had a red shirt on. In the middle of their torso was a round pair of pants.
The puppy head was hiding his face into a blue Sasquatch, who had a pink shirt and a blue skirt in.
The kitten half was rolling his eyes, at his puppy half, "Dog, it's just an act."
Dog peaked out nervously for a look, "But it look so real to me Cat."
The Sasquatch patted the puppy's head in comfort, "oh sweetie, it's just a play, look."
Dog dared to look to see more of the play.
"Back then, the world was divided in two. Vicious predator and meek prey," the small rabbit said. Boxes then flew over and landed near the jaguar and the bunny. "But over time, we evolved... and moved beyond our primitive savage ways," as the small rabbit said that, a little black sheep wearing a white robe did some dancing and threw some petals in the air. The boxes were now lifted up and both the jaguar cub and bunny were also wearing white robes. "Now predator and prey live in harmony."
Soon the three friends made space for each other as well as the other kids for what they were going to do next, "and every young animal has multitudinous opportunities," the rabbit then said, as she turned to the black lamb, noted her it was her cue.
As they were planning out their play, the friends had chats about what they wanted to be in future, so they had the idea of showing them to everyone at the performance.
"Yeah, I don't have to cower in the herd anymore," the black lamb said as she then took off her angel outfit, revealing a space suit, in which she then put on the helmet as she stated "instead, I can be an astronaut!" this was added with space sound effects by a small jaguar for this.
"And I don't have to be a lonely hunter anymore," the other jaguar then spoke, as he took off his robe to reveal a smart suit he was now wearing while holding a special pen, "Today I can hunt for tax exemptions, I'm gonna be an actuary!"
"And I can make the world a better place; I am gonna be… a police officer!" The small rabbit finally then spoke, as she revealed a police outfit from her robe, while the other jaguar played awesome cop music for dramatic effect.
CatDog's eyes widened at that.
"Cool," Dog said, astonished.
Cat snickered a bit at the thought of a bunny becoming a cop until the Sasquatch give a glared to the kitten and he immediately stop.
Then a small bit of laughter came from the audience, revealing it to a school bully fox who was currently watching the show with his weasel partner.
"Ha, ha! Bunny Cop!" The fox spoke out, "That is the most stupidest thing I've ever heard."
"It may seem impossible to small minds. I'm looking at you, Gideon Gray." The bunny said looking at the fox.
This left the bullies a little stunned at that, while a few giggles came from some of the kids in the audience, mostly those who didn't like Gideon bullying them.
Oh burn. Cat thought to himself, as he didn't also like the bully, that always picks on him and his twin brother everyday at school.
"But," Judy then said, as she prepared the final lines, "just two-hundred and eleven miles away stands the great city of Zootopia," as she said that, the jungle scenery lifted up revealing a picture of a city's silhouette with the words "Zootopia!" put up on top of it.
The jaguar and the black lamb then lifted up a banner, which said, "Anyone can be Anything", which was what the rabbit then said for the final lines "Where our ancestors first joined together in peace and declared that anyone can be anything!"
At that, the audience applauded to the first act of the play and it's actors as the small rabbit thanked the crowd, "Thank you and goodnight!"
If only that were true. Cat thought to himself, everything with him and his brother was anything but peace. They're bullied at school for their appearance and been called freaks, mistakes and orphans. They're been abandoned at a door step when they're just babies, it was a miracle that a Sasquatch and a frog found them and adopted them as their own. But it didn't stop the rumors that they been ditched because of their appearance.
"Mommy, can we go out and explore the fair? Can we? Can we? Can we?" Dog begged, his eyes sparkling and he want him and his brother to go out and do some fun.
"Well…" their mother said, thinking about this.
"Please?" CatDog begged as they looked at the Sasquatch with smiles.
Finally, the Sasquatch made a decision. "Alright, but stick together at all times."
"Mom we're attached, literally, I think we'll have no problem with that." Cat pointed out, rolling his eyes.
"I know, but I'm your mother, it's my job to worry." The Sasquatch said.
"Come on Cat, let's go explore!" Dog shouted excitedly, dragging his feline half with him.
"Dog! Slow down!" Cat yelled, as he was dragged by with hyperactive brother.
But Dog didn't listen, as he continued running towards the fair, with his older brother behind him.
The Sasquatch shook her head with a smile and sigh, "they grow up so fast."
CatDog had got tickets to go and play games around the fair, but unfortunately they can't agreed to play what game first and were arguing about it.
"I wanna go and play that Mean Bob game over there!" Dog whined.
"No! We're going to go play tossed the yarn ball and win the prize game!" Cat's eyes narrowed.
"You always pick a game to play first!"
"Well, because I'm older!"
"That's not fair!"
"Life isn't fair Dog!"
"Hey, you freaks!"
CatDog both turned around and froze, it was Gideon and his partner.
"Uh oh," CatDog both gulped.
"Hand over the tickets!" Gideon demanded, his paw layed out.
"But we have them first!" Dog growled, although inside he was afraid of the bully.
"Well finders keepers, losers weepers!" Gideon taunted.
"Who made you king of the fair?" Cat daring to ask.
"Me! Now, give me your tickets right now, or I'm gonna kick your scrawny little Cat butt!" Gideon growled, shoving the two scared twins.
"Ow! Cut it out, Gideon!" Dog shouted, or rather, raised his voice as high as he could.
"Bark! Bark! what're ya gonna do, cry?" He mocked as he snatched the colorful carnival tickets from Cat's paws and pocketed them into the front of his overalls.
"Hey!" A voice came from behind The two conjoned twins. The conflict paused as they saw the young bunny, approaching in her cop uniform from the stage play earlier. She was tiny, yet authoritative. "You heard him. Cut it out."
Gideon was having none of this nonsense. "Nice costume, loser," he taunted, "What crazy world are you living in where you think a bunny could be a cop?" He nearly let loose a load of spit as he shouted the last word.
"Kindly return my friends' tickets," she sternly commanded, holding out her paw at Gideon.
Friends? Cat thought astonished, he and Dog barely know this bunny and yet she was willing to stand up for them of all animals.
"Come and get 'em…" Gideon patted the tickets in his front pocket, cutting out Cat in his thoughts. Gideon was smiling mockingly before his face quickly turned aggressive. He began advancing towards her menacingly. "But watch out, 'cause I'm a fox and like you said in your dumb little stage play, us predators used to eat prey!" He brandished his claws and bared his teeth. "And that killer instinct's still in our Dunnahh."
"Uh," The weasel started, "I'm pretty much sure it's pronounced D-N-A."
Gideon swatted a paw at his partner, causing him to flinch. "Don't tell me what I know, Travis."
"You don't scare me, Gideon," The small rabbit announced bravely.
Gideon's shove came swiftly, knocking the rabbit clean off her feet. She hit the ground with a thump, knocking the wind out her lungs. CatDog gasped in horror, and Cat dragged his frightened conjoined twin and took off for the safety of a nearby tree.
"Scared now?!" Gideon barked, as Judy lifted herself to face him, eyes glossy, full of tears, nose twitching beyond her control.
"Look at her nose twitch," Travis taunted from behind Gideon. "She is scared!"
"Cry little baby bunny," Gideon said mockingly, hunched over his victim. "Cry-"
And just as suddenly as he had pushed her, the rabbit retaliated. She bucked up her legs and shoved them straight into his muzzle, sending him reeling back. CatDog gasped from the behind the tree, both eyes wide with shock.
Gideon checked his lip for blood, finding none, before he returned his focus to the feisty rabbit. His eyes were filled with anger. "Oh, you don't know when to quit, do ya?" He said, flicking out his sharp claws threateningly.
The little bunny froze in terror at the sight of them, her breath quickened. The brothers from behind the tree huddled together behind the tree in fear. Dog was shaking uncontrollably, Cat patted his canine half's back in hopes of comforting him, even though he was terrified himself.
Gideon growled and with a deft swipe of his claw, he drew blood from her cheek. Dog buried his face into his brother's chest, unable to look anymore, as he whimpered in fear, while Cat shut his eyes tight, unable to look either.
When Gideon's claws left, three deep lines were carved into the small bunny's cheek. He shoved Judy's face into the dirt. "I want you to remember this moment the next time you think you will ever be anything more than just a stupid carrot-farming dumb bunny!"
The duo opened their eyes to see Gideon high-fiving Travis, laughing, and walking away from the hurt rabbit that still lay on the ground, holding a paw to her cheek. They abandoned the tree to run over to the small bunny, who was wiping blood away from fresh tears left by Gideon's claws.
"Are you okay miss?" Dog asked urgently, she got hurt, during her fight.
"Yeah…" The small bunny said in a weary voice, sitting up. "Yeah, I'm okay." She pulled out a stash of tickets she was hiding beneath her, pilfered from Gideon. "Here you go."
CatDog gasped.
"Wow!" Cat exclaimed, amazed. "You got our tickets!"
"How did you do that?" Dog asked, in amazement.
"I took them from him when he wasn't looking." The bunny said smirking.
Cat although happy that he and his conjoined brother got their tickets back, was confused by this bunny's actions, "why would you help us? We're freaks."
"I don't think you're freaks, you're just different and I think being different is unique," The bunny said with a smile.
"Wow, that the nicest thing everyone has ever said to us," Dog said.
"So it doesn't bother you that me and my brother are attached?" Cat asked, still astonished that she is seeing them anything else besides their appearance.
"Of course not, I hope you won't let what he said get to you," The small rabbit said.
"Hey, what's your name?" Dog asked.
She then reached out her right paw for an introductory handshake and said, "Judy. Judy Hopps."
"I'm Dog and this is my brother Cat," Dog introduced, as he pointed to his feline brother.
"Hi," Cat said, still a little weary of the bunny, he and Dog don't have any friends besides each other.
"That was awesome how you stood up to Gideon like that!" Dog marveled, clearly in awe of the aspiring rabbit cop.
Judy dusted herself off, "Well, he was right about one thing," she said walking over to her fallen hat and picking it up. She donned it once again, a determined smug on her face. "I don't know when to quit!"
I imagine that, when CatDog when they're kids, young Cat would be played by Iain Armitage, who played young Shaggy in SCOOB. And young Dog would be played by Antonio Raul Corbo, who played young SpongeBob in The third SpongeBob movie. Anyways more chapters to come, until then peace out!
