The two teenagers walked into the room leading to the stadium. Both arrived in a comfortable silence, enjoying the other's precense. For Izuku, he was busy finalizing plans to defeat Vlad.
Momo, on the other hand, her mind was in flames. Do I like him? Well, sure I do, but in that way? I don't really know. Is this a passing thing? If he feels the same would he be able to? Oh no, I just admitted it to myself, didn't I? I guess I shouldn't tell him. Or should I? Thinking about it, I guess- "Hey Ms. Yaoyorozu?"
She looked to him, grateful for this opportunity to break away from her thoughts. "Yes, Mr. Izuku?"
He smiled, sending butterflies on a marathon through her. He scratched the back of his head, sheepishly. "You don't know this, but before Kirishima, I had relatively no support system. I was alone most of the time. I mean, sure, there were the police departments, but everyone is at least ten years older than us. I'm sorry for rambling, but I'd like to say, thanks for being here at this moment. This next battle is nerve wracking for me and I-oof!" He was cut off by a tackle to his waist- from a very tall girl.
She beamed, looking below her. "You're welcome. Now win this for all of us in the hero course."
He smirked. "I plan on it."
He looked in the direction of the entrance when he heard Midnight introduce his opponent.
He smiled warmly towards her, shooting her a thumbs up. "That's my cue. Wish me luck!" He started jogging out.
Momo only stood there, her hand in a slight wave. "Yeah, win this." Her eyes fixated on a screen near her, showcasing the battle.
{Class 1-A}
The class watched as Bakugo entered the room with. Kaminari waved. "Hey Bakugo! You seen Kirishima or Mina? They're just gone!"
"Fuck no. They're probably off making lip somewhere."
Mina froze. Her eyes darting to Kyoka, she started to breathe in and out at a rapid pace, shaking violently. Kyoka started rubbing the back of her friend, motioning her hand in circles. She glared at the explosion user. Internally, she was frightened. What if Kirishima is cheating on her?
However, fate dealt her a good hand, because if she looked carefully at her side of the stadium, shortly before the vigilante jogged out, she noticed a large lock of black hair surround his back, just for a moment.
Hey! Isn't that? Yaomomo? With the Dean of students?
She needed answers, but only after the match.
Before she could focus, Mina gasped. She stood up abruptly, phone in hand, worry trapped in her features.
She all but ran out, and before Kyoka could follow, two words popped up on her phone:
Kirishima Infirmary
Kyoka sprinted after her, battle be damned.

Midnight grabbed the Microphone, ready for the final match of the staff showdown (as she called it) began.
"Alright! Let's start this match! Now, ladies and gentlemen, there's no need for a huge introduction for both of these powerhouses, so let's get to it!"
The crowd roared in excitement, ready for the intensity that was to come.
"On the left field! This is a man who adores the colour red as much as he adores his homeroom class!"
She could have sworn she heard awws coming from the exact hero class.
"I know him as the red bullet! You all know him as Vlad King!"
Vlad looked miffed at the art history teacher's assessment of him.
"And on the right field! This guy came absolutely out of nowhere and is taking everyone down! He has no quirk but he doesn't let that stop him! While I know him as scary, you all know him as Quirkless!"
Izuku didn't show any response from what she just said.
{Class 1-B}
Pony gripped her hand in determination. "Quirkless is going to win! I know this!"
Shinso was busy trying to pry Pony's hand out of his own, as it was too tight for his liking. After a few seconds, he deemed the task impossible and ignored it. He nodded anyway. "He saw my potential for being a hero so I believe he can win."
Not far from them, Yui nodded, looking over towards him. He will win. He has a heroes heart. Setsuna nudged her. "I'm not even going to try. You think Quirkless will win, huh?"
Her classmates laughed, prompting her to look at them. "Get real, Setsuna. while Quirkless is undoubtedly skilled, he's got nothing on our homeroom teacher." From the brash, biased analysis, Setsuna rolled her eyes.
Setsuna looked at Yui. "Ok I'm rooting for Quirkless now." Yui nodded enthusiastically, blushing as she did so.
{Somewhere in the stands}
Neijire, Tamaki, and Mirio sat forward in anticipation. They were all cheering for Izuku.
At first, Mirio didn't even want to cheer for a vigilante. Before the introduction of the Sports Festival, he believed vigilantes to be as intelligent as the common criminal.
However, watching this, he felt excited to see what the guy could do. He felt that he would be a tough opponent for him, not for his power but his ability to take on challenges as soon as they arrive. The announcers weren't kidding when he was called a master tactician.
Neijire was excited in general. She always loved watching a good fight, with a tough contestant. He's the new dean of students, huh? I'll have to pay him a visit soon.
Neijire and Mirio were also ecstatic to see their reserved friend out of his shell. They watched as Tamaki started cheering at the top of his lungs, smiling all the way.
They hoped it would never end. Mirio snapped a picture anyway, sending it to his periwinkle haired friend. They'd treasure this moment for a lifetime.
Tamaki watched as his mentor jogged out of his prep room. He cupped his hands over his mouth and cheered. He believed in Izuku.
{The field}
"Start!"
Vlad immediately shot towards Izuku, while Izuku stood still watching his movements. To the audience, they didn't know why Izuku stilled when before he was pretty proactive.
The answer was simple. He could take Vlad easier up close.
Izuku smirked. He had an emergency stash of oxygen in his holster, he just had to figure out when to use it.
For now, he had to focus on surviving the natural tank.
"And Quirkless looks like he's going on the defensive! This is a major change from what he was doing before! What's with the change?"
Just biding my time, and THERE!
He saw an opening. While Vlad was busy attempting to get a hit in, he missed on of the major limbs needed for standing upright. Legs.
Weaving out of the way of a low punch, Izuku readied a tazor.
This shot had a low chance of succeeding, but if it were like the chances of the last battle they were in...
BZZZZZZZZZZT
Izuku watched as Vlad stumbled backwards, his leg spazzing out, convulsing with electricity.
He recovered, but not in time to watch as Izuku vaulted over him with a bo staff he produced from his cloak.
Izuku wasted no time do direct an assault on the blood manipulator. He knew eventually the quirk would be used, but he knew that the more the man used his blood, the more stamina he used. All Izuku had to do was bide his time.
Vlad was irritated. This kid was not making it easy to land a punch. He didn't want to use a lot of blood, but if he had to...
The crimson liquid worked it's way from his gauntlet and onto the staff, covering the weapon to Izuku.
Izuku watched as the liquid seeped it's way up his bo staff. While expected, it wasn't not gross for him to witness. Dropping the weapon before Vlad could freeze his own blood, he flipped backwards to add distance between the two.
Finally got him to use his quirk. Phase one complete.
He grabbed a bow and a few arrows from his costume. Oh, how he loved collapsible anything. it definitely helped in travel.
Vlad dropped the bow staff, now approaching the vigilante. "Really? a bow and arrow? Can't you just surrender already?" He used his blood to capture the fired arrow. "Your sticks of wood are no match for my blood." At this point, Vlad appeared to be surrounded by a wave of crimson. Izuku noticed his blood didn't once leave his gauntlets.
Izuku fired another arrow. He chuckled. "I'm counting on it."
Vlad narrowed his eyes, suspicious. "What do you mean by that?"
Izuku smirked. "Why don't you just chill out for a moment?" Vlad's eyes widened when he realized what Izuku meant.
Vlad's eyes darted left and right as he felt a cooling sensation spread across his arms and around him. He groaned internationally. Of course. Freeze arrow. How annoying.
Izuku chuckled. "Good luck trying to thaw that out with more blood, Vlad." He didn't give the blood user a chance to react as he rushed the pro hero and wailed punches and kicks, both of which Vlad desperately tried to dodge.
Izuku knew he had this in the bag. I can't be cocky here. I know he could still-
"UGH!"
Izuku stumbled back, grabbing his head in pain. Chuckling, Vlad slowly walked (More stomping at this point) towards the vigilante.
"Hey, Quirkless. I've got to hand it to you. You got me good. Freezing my gauntless when my quirk was active? Ingenious. I doubt even Aizawa could have figured that out." He chuckled, cracking his knuckles. "Here's the thing. Wrap me in something heavy-" He slammed a foot into Izuku's torso, sending him flying.
-"You just add extra weight to my force!" He ran to Izuku and slammed fist after fist on the kid. Izuku wasn't aware the pro could even move this fast! There's a reason why he's a top hero.
{With Momo}
She watched excitedly as the Dean gained the upper hand. What stopped her was when he was sent flying backwards. She looked on in horror when Vlad King wailed punches and kicks at a terrifying rate.
Come on Izuku, you can do this.
She's never been more scared for someone in her life.
{Class 1-B}
Shinso, Pony, Setsuna, and Yui sat forward in their seats.
This battle was already intense enough, but the whole class turned to Yui, as she let out a startled cry when Izuku was shot backwards by a devastating kick.
Setsuna could only stare at the field. Come on, Dean! Prove the cocky assholes in this class wrong!
{The field}
Vlad walked up to the downed vigilante, crouching when he was close enough. He sweated, watching as the fallen kid didn't move. He took his arm and felt for a pulse.
Ok, he's still alive. Guess the match is- All of a sudden, a hand shot forward, stabbing a syringe into Vlad's arm. Falling back, Vlad widened his eyes, grabbing his arm in surprise. "What did you do?! I can't feel my arm!"
The crowd roared, not expecting this surprise. They were impressed with what they saw.
Izuku stood up, slowly walking to Vlad for dramatic effect. "What I plunged into your arm is a conoction of my own. It is mostly oxygen, but there's a couple hidden chemicals in there. It has the exact same numbing effect as a broken arm, and like a broken arm, is only temporary. It'll flush out of your system in a couple hours."
Izuku grinned, freezing the blood user in a small type of fear. "Right now, I do believe it's time to finish this." He grabbed onto a pistol from his cloak, pointing it at the blood user.
The crowd screamed in fear, some begging him not to shoot.
Even Cementoss started to bolt to Izuku.
Vlad refused to close his eyes, daring not to end the match on a coward's note.
BANG!
Vlad immediately felt a hardening sensation form around him. Identifying the substance as the one used on Snipe, he internally calmed down. He heard his opponent laugh.
"Come now, everyone! You all actually thought I'd kill him?" He turned to Cementoss. "You too! Dude, I thought you were cooler than that." He laughed. "Man, that was amazing. Best prank I've ever held."
Cementoss shook his head, walking over to Vlad. "Can you move?" Vlad shook his head. "Then it is decided! Izuku is the winner!"
Once again, Izuku had to break the announcers out of their apparent shock.
"Erm, yes. Well! Quirkless wins, making him the champion of our first ever STAFF SHOWDOWN!" The one for all user screamed into the Mic, covering for Midnight, who looked like she suffered a heart attack.
The crowd roared. That match was more intense than the last! They were pumped, ready to watch how the students could hold up to the standard of pros.
Izuku looked on with pride. He had done it. He proved that the quirkless can dominate! He didn't need flashy powers. He just needed wit and determination. He walked to his prep room, head held high.
{Class 1-A}
Every student present roared. They at first believed Vlad King to win, but as the round progressed, they started cheering for the new staff member. Tokoyami was the only exception.
Kirishima arrived from the infirmary with Mina and Kyoka in time to watch the match start. He looked on with pride, cheering with the others, and gasped with them when Izuku looked like he was down. He laughed when Vlad stumbled back, as he was used to Izuku's tricks. He looked to the rest of the class, and frowned when he saw Bakugo shake in rage. Kirishima was sad he lost a friend, but with what happened in the hall, he didn't want to repeat that.
{Class 1-B}
The majority of the class groaned. They should have known the quirkless man would have won. They were really hoping their homeroom teacher would succeed. They stared at the four who screamed, cheered, and almost cried.
Pony was shaking Shinso at this rate. "HE WON SHINSO! HE WON!" Shinso laughed. "Yeah, Pony, he did. That battle was unbelievable, wasn't it?"
Yui grinned. He actually did it. He won against Mr. Vlad! She was so happy for him. She quickly realized she needed to ready herself. The festival had only just begun.
Setsuna smirked, looking at the usually reserved girl, shook her head. Your crush really is something, huh? Well, I guess I'll take her for a visit to this Quirkless.
{In the stands}
Neijire and Mirio double backed when they heard the deafening roar of their friend. Tamaki was so excited seeing the fight that his reserved nature was momentarily abandoned. They smiled at the other, another picture taken.
Mirio grinned. He now has a proper opponent. This Quirkless was the final test of his high school career.
{Announcers box}
Midnight once again grabbed the Mic. "And that concludes the Staff showdown of the Sports Festival!"
More cheering could be heard.
"Now, if I can have every student come down to the field, please! Its time to start the student portion of the festival! Please arrive in your classes, please!" She and All Might slumped in their seats, debating whether or not to find Present Mic.
Every first year student beamed in anticipation.
Now that the staff was finished warming the crowd up, it was their time to shine.
The festival's main course had just begun.
