"Congratulations, Izuku Midorya, for becoming a father."

Izuku wiped tears from his eyes when I held the document. The document made his adoption official, and he cried when he read "Father of Inko Eri Midorya." He already knew, but even that didn't make the moment bittersweet.

He couldn't wait to show Aizawa and the others, as well as Kirishima.

He looked down and watched as Eri played with the toy dump truck and racecar Power Loader and Snipe gave her. He smiled when she pretended to race, making screeching noises when they would "Sharply turn a corner."

He was still in slight disbelief.

He was a father. The kid who everyone said had no future. The kid the people at the orphanage rumored to have no one to love him.

He proved them wrong.

A smile spread, and he tapped Eri on the head. When she looked up, he grinned. "How about you come with me to school! We can grab some snacks on the way." She smiled, brightening his mood and causing him to force the more negative thoughts to the back of his mind.

"Ok then, we have two stops before we eat anything, ok?"

"Okay!"

"Hello?" Izuku and Eri walked through a weathered door, walking in to a nicely managed building. He was sure she was here, that's all his memory served him.

He and Eri stepped into his orphanage. He didn't know why it drew him here, he just had to know. He had to know if the wicked woman was still doing those despicable things.

A young woman appeared. "Can I help you?" Izuku analysed her. She was in her early twenties, probably taking this gig for rent money. She had long, brown hair, and grey irises. She wasn't very tall, with Izuku surpassing her height by three inches. Izuku shook his head, the cobwebs being blown.

"I'm here to see madam caretaker."

"Do you know her name?"

"No." His response was rather curt.

The woman frowned. "Can you describe her, we've had more than one caretaker here over the years."

Izuku nodded. "She has grey hair, a crooked nose, a scowl adorning her face most the time, and she usually wore long dresses of older styles."

The woman clicked her tongue in thought. Her eyes lit up. "Oh, you mean Ms. Verith! Yes, she is down the hall in her office. Are you adopting anyone today?" She didn't notice Eri hiding behind the man's leg.

Izuku gave her a small smile. "Unfortunately, no. As much as I would love to adopt a child from here, I won't be able to..." His voice died off when a small figure ran behind the young woman.

He knelt down, Eri climbing on his back. "Now who's this?"

The young woman laughed. That's Kota. He's one of our newest children here.

The boy was frail looking, had black hair, and wide angled eyes, making him appear to be angry.

"Oh, hello Kota. I'm Izuku."

Kota didn't respond.

Izuku looked up. "He's much like my daughter." He smiled at Kota. "Tell me Kota, do you like toys?"

Kota peered at the taller man, nodding.

Izuku smiled warmly as he brought out a small toy car, one he was planning on surprising Eri with. Izuku figured she wouldn't miss what isn't given to her.

Kota smiled as he tentatively grabbed the car. Izuku smiled again. "I like your hat." Kota gave him a mumbled thank you.

Izuku stood up and faced the young woman. "How is he being treated here?"

He noted that the woman stiffened, a tear forming.

"How is he being treated?"

Still no response, this time he noticed that the woman's eyes shifted to the door of the primary caretaker. This was only for a fraction of a second, but Izuku knew better. He had a reason to believe that Kota was being bullied, and he couldn't let that happen.

Not to another child.

"What is your name?"

The young woman looked down. "Sakura Fuuta."

"Okay, Sakura, if I'm going to help you, you're going to have to help me. How is he bring treated here?"

She looked to the caretakers door frantically, sweating up a storm.

Eri, on the other hand, registered that something was wrong and clutched onto Izuku's back tighter, whimpering in fright. She didn't know what was going on, but she didn't like it.

Sakura looked to Izuku, and stepped forward, her mouth to his ear. "Please help him. I'm trying to stop Verith from letting the kids bully him. Please, adopt him, he doesn't deserve this, he doesn't."

With that, she stepped back, forcing a calm demeanor to wash over her. "I'll take you to Madame Verith."

She walked forward, motioning for the father to follow.

Izuku stroked Eri's hair. "Eri," he whispered. She looked to him. "You're getting a brother very soon." She smiled, and almost cheered if it weren't for Izuku cutting her off with a hand signal.

He looked to Kota, who peered at him curiously.

They walked into a room, which was a lot smaller than Izuku remembered. Either that, or Izuku was a lot smaller back then than he thought.

"Madame, you've a guest."

Izuku faltered, staring at the old woman in front of him. She was exactly as he remembered her being seven years ago. She had that same crooked, conniving smile she wore when trying to cover something up. She had the same hairstyle that was outdated a millennia ago, yet never took it down.

This time, she didn't recognize him. She stood up, and extended her hand to shake it. She looked at him curiously when he didn't do the same.

"How can we be a service to you today?"

He did his best not to shudder. She still voiced that fake, scheming tone. He wanted to throw her to the wall, but with Eri here, he couldn't do that.

He looked to her, surprised that he reached her height - she was 170 cm (5'5") - and smiled. "I'd like to adopt a child today."

The old woman smiled. "Certainly. Now, I could take you around and show you our children here, and -"

"I've already decided."

The woman paused. "Oh? And who could the lucky child be?"

"Kota."

He noticed it. The hesitation. The scowl trying to work it's way out. The evil mannerisms were fighting the facade that was built. He smiled.

"I've seen Kota, and he is a wonderful boy. He would be an amazing addition to my family, as a sibling to my daughter, Inko, here." Don't stop smiling, dont stop smiling.

"We could take you around to meet the other children if you'd like."

"No, I've made up my mind."

"We have children with very strong quirks. They could easily become heroes in the future."

"Quirks make no difference to me, Madame."

He wanted to laugh. She was trying so hard to find a reason not to have Kota adopted.

The two stared each other down. Eri, Kota, and Sakura just watched, unsure of what to do in the situation.

Eventually, Verith gave up. "Ok, I'll have the paperwork ready to sign, Mr...?

"Midorya, Izuku Midorya."

"Right, Mr. Midorya, I'll have the papers ready in a minute. Of course, the official period to officially allow Kota into your home would take a time as the documents process, I'm sure you understand."

Izuku frowned. She was making this a lot harder than it had to be. "Of course, Madame, would you allow me to make a phone call?"

"Certainly."

Izuku walked out of the room after telling Eri to stay, since he'll be gone for a minute.

Naomasa Tsukauchi, and his friend, Emi Fukakudo, stood in an average room with Izuku, Eri, and the head caretaker. Izuku informed them that he had suspicions of child neglect, abuse, and harassment. Emi was the guest that was able to have the adoption filed in no time, thanks to her influence with child cases.

Verith was confused. The man only requested a phone call, not for two people to show up. She studied the green haired man in front of her. He looked eerily familiar, like she's known him. He had long frizzy green hair, pulled into a ponytail, as well as three freckles on both cheeks, just under the eyes. His eyes were emerald green, and they shone brighter as he filled out the application.

His small smile as he thought of pleasant things, and-

Her eyes flew open.

No. It couldn't be him! This isn't possible! I left him for dead!

Izuku finished the paperwork, and smiled at his guests, and Eri. He looked to Kota, who had hidden behind Tsukauchi.

Izuku handed the paperwork to Verith, who was shaking. He smirked.

"I see you figured me out. I would say it's nice to see you again, but we both know that's a lie."

Verith only stared at the papers he handed her. She would rip them up, but with a hero and police detective in front of her? She legally couldn't deny the father in front of her.

How is he so well off? He's QUIRKLESS!

Both adults and Izuku frowned. She looked up, and froze.

She did not mean for that to come out.

Tsukauchi stepped forward. "Verith. We've been informed that you have been treating the alleged quirkless population here with little to no basis for living. You allow the children here to bully those who can't defend themselves. You even disregard them completely and throw the powerless children to the street."

If Verith wasn't scared before, she was downright terrified now. Her biggest secret was now blown wide open.

"Verith." The old woman turned towards Fukakudo, who's expression was opposite of her hero persona. "After Mr. Midorya adopts Kota, right now, you will be placed under arrest. Do not try to leave."

Verith slumped in her seat, and stamped the papers in front of her. She handed the papers to Fukakudo. She looked at Izuku in defeat. "He's yours now."

Kota walked to Izuku hesitantly, unsure if what to do. He wanted to believe, but after all the taunting, the bullying, the harsh words from the head caretaker, he believed himself to be unwanted.

Izuku smiled. "Kota." The boy looked up. "Welcome to the family." Kota stood shocked, trying to process what he said.

Eri was excited. "Yay! I have a brother!!!" She began running around Kota, laughing and giggling the whole time.

Izuku and his friends laughed. Soon, they glared at the soon to be jailed caretaker. Verith shook at the stares.

Naomasa wasted no time to cuff the old woman. Before they could drag her to the door, Naomasa looked to Sakura. "I'm sorry you lost a job..." Sakura looked down. "Or rather, congratulations on your promotion." The brunette snapped her head up.

"Huh?"

Naomasa chuckled. "You are now the head caretaker of this orphanage. The paperwork will be sent to your mail. Congrats!" He walked off with Verith.

Verith had to know. "Midorya!" She gained his attention. "How is it that you succeeded? How are you so well off? How do you have a child?!" Tears were streaming down her face.

Izuku gave her a smile, one that would haunt her until she reached the grave. "Its as you tormented me with, for all those years here. I'm Quirkless." Verith struggled against Tsukauchi as he led her away, leaving the two children, Izuku, Emi, and Sakura.

Izuku sighed, content with this outcome. All he really wanted to prove to the ex-caretaker was that he could succeed, even if he was powerless. After learning that Kota was suffering the same way he did, he had to put a stop to it.

How many children lost their lives to that vile woman?

He watched as Sakura placed the official documents into his hands. Sakura smiled. "Congratulations, Mr. Midorya. Kota will be in good hands with you. You're a real hero, you know that?"

Izuku shook his head. "No, you're the hero here. If you didn't inform me about what was going on, nothing would have happened. You will fit your new role very well." He looked to Kota. "What's his quirk, anyways?"

"Well, our findings show that he isn't Quirkless, but that he refuses to use the quirk."

Just like Eri.

He nodded. "Thank you, Sakura. Have a great day, and thank you so much for what you're doing. Please change things for the better. Be a hero for all the kids and future kids." She nodded, taking the vow to heart.

Emi, Izuku, and the two children walked out.

Emi lightly punched Izuku's shoulder. "You know, we're always up for another teacher at Shiketsu."

Izuku laughed. "I know, but my heart belongs to UA. I've already made a great bunch of friends there."

"Friends or coworkers?"

"..."

Emi laughed. "I'm just teasing you." She looked to Kota, her gaze softening. "He really doesn't have a family?"

Izuku sighed. "Well, in the paperwork, I noticed that his aunt is with the Wild Wild Pussycats, but for some reason, she hasn't claimed him in the year he's been in the orphanage. I intend on questioning her about it, but now, I have to be there for Kota. He's my child now, even if I haven't really gotten to know him well, but if I just left him there..." He shivered, not finishing the sentence.

It was better left unsaid.

Emi nodded.

"Well, I'm going to get these filed." She pointed to the documents. "Congratulations, Izuku. Promise me you'll bring the kiddos to me so I can play with them?"

Izuku laughed. "Of course. I wouldn't miss the chance to record aunty Emi playing with the kids."

She smiled and gave him a quick hug, and walked off, waving to the kids.

Izuku smiled. He patted Kota's head, gaining his attention. "How about we get you something to eat?"

Kota smiled and nodded.

Usually, I don't address reviews one chapter too close to the last, but I need to make something clear.in a review of the previous chapter, someone mentioned that Mina's reaction is annoying. Keep in mind, people that experience rape all react to it differently. Some people can accept it and move on easily, but for most it's almost impossible, if not incredibly difficult to do so. For Mina, she believed she was moving on until Kirishima's actions in the festival reminded her of the trauma. It's hard for some people to open up to others, especially to loved ones. There are mixed feelings when opening up, and one emotion that is more apparent is fear. A fear of being abandoned. Its part of why it's so difficult to open up.So with that, please keep an open mind.

As another note, I apologize for dragging out the sports festival. There's just so much you can do with it, and in most fics, I find they go the typical route, which is more in cannon. I wanted to write something different, like Kirishima using his abilities in different ways, along with Todoroki not being a complete powerhouse. Everyone has a weakness, after all.

I will do my best not to drag anything else out like the sports festival. There was just so much. Plus, It's not completely about the festival. There are scenes that continue the plot. Trust me on this one, everything I write is for a reason. These reasons will come later in the book.

That's all from me! Thank you all for reading and reviewing! I hope I done disappoint!
