Izuku was in the living room with Eri, Kota, and the Todorokis. He decided that he was going to know the siblings, and see what they like.
Natsuo ended up liking pretty much anything. He was easygoing, fun, and loved having conversation. As a college student, he learned to appreciate the time spent with others, because he was away everyday for just about the whole day.
Fuyumi was more reserved. It turned out she was more motherly than sisterly to her siblings because of the absence of their mother. It saddened Izuku to know that their mother was alive and not with them. Izuku hated not having a mother growing up. Fuyumi liked cooking a lot and started helping him in the kitchen more often.
He already knew Todoroki, so that wasn't an issue. What concerned him was that Todoroki refused to make friends. It wasn't like he didn't want friends, he just didn't know how.
bzzt
Izuku took his phone out, and glanced over the screen. He looked to everyone and smiled.
"Hey guys, I have to go on patrol. Make sure you eat." He looked to Eri and Kota. "Will you be ok with them? I can always bring you to Uncle Aizawa."
The children smiled. "Nope. We're ok here." They resumed playing with their toys.
Izuku nodded, and waved to the siblings. "I'll be off then."
"Wait, Izuku."
Izuku looked towards Shouto, who was standing.
"Hmm?"
"Take me with you. Let me patrol with you."
"No."
Todoroki faltered. "What?"
"It's not safe out there. Plus, you can't use your quirk in public without a hero license. Sorry." Izuku smiled apologetically before placing the mask over his nose. He waved and ran out the door.
Shouto only stood still, His face focused. The words still played over and over. It's not safe? What kind of work does he do exactly?
Izuku and Kirishima were running in the street at a frantic pace, zig zagging passed cars and signs and anything in their way.
"You just had to anger the big guy, huh?!"
"Dont look at me! He thought he could take on my quirk!"
"Then why wouldn't you think otherwise! He the size of the zero pointer!"
"I don't know!"
"Listen! We have to get to a roof. This guy is limited by the ground. He can't jump high. Roof leaping is our only way out!"
A thumbs up flashed in Izuku's direction. "You got it! I see a ladder coming up!"
"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE FROM ME, PIPSQUEAKS!"
Izuku regretted glancing back, as he watched a giant man wrapped in solid steel barrel his way to them, demolishing anything and everything in his path. If Izuku didn't know better, he would have thought it was the Juggernaut from an old comic he read.
"Red Riot! get your ass moving! I'm going to distract him!"
"Right!"
While Kirishima climbed, Izuku ran to the giant, a flash bang in hand. He had a sedative ready as well, since only the eye socket was exposed. This way, he could possibly access an eyebrow.
"Hey, meaty! Come at me!"
Izuku ran for the goliath as the opponent ran straight for him, and leaped when a car was sent his way. Using the car as a platform, he chucked the flash bang at the giant and to his satisfaction, it exploded. Temporarily blinded, the Juggernaut covered his eyes, which was not at all what Izuku wanted.
Thinking quickly, he took his bazooka out and fired at the head.
The giant was on the ground. Seeing this, he made haste to apply a dose of his temporary quirk halter and stabbed the Goliath's eyebrow. Thinking quickly, he stabbed a 500 litre sedative in the same area, effectively knocking the giant out. He knew it wouldn't kill him, considering his size.
"How the hell did you fit that in your cloak?"
Izuku turned to see Red Riot walk up to him.
"Trade secret."
Kirishima shook his head, a relieved chuckle leaving him. "We should probably restrain him."
Izuku nodded and got to work, allowing his partner to call Tsukauchi.
Ring.
Ring.
Ring.
Rin-
"Hello?"
"Hey Fuyumi."
"Oh! Izuku! What's up?"
"I won't be back home until a few hours, could you please put Kota and Eri to the phone?"
"Sure! Give me a sec." Izuku smiled when he heard a muffled voice call for his kids.
"Daddy!" "Izuku!" The two voices made Izuku beam.
"Hey kids, I'm going to be gone for a few more hours, so go on to bed. I wanted to say goodnight before you two went to sleep."
Kota sounded ok with it, Eri on the other hand...
"No! Come back!"
"I'm sorry princess, but work is holding me up."
"But you need to tuck me in!" Her voice cracked. He flinched.
Izuku wanted to shrink down. He did promise Eri he'd tuck her in and read her favourite story.
"I'm sorry princess... How about this? If you go to bed I'll get you some ice cream before school?"
Eri seemed to think about it.
"Ok!"
"Hey! what about me?"
Izuku chuckled. "Yes, Kota, you too. Now you two off to bed. I'll see you first thing."
"Ok/good night daddy!"
"Good night kids. I love you both."
He ended the call and stared at the screen for a second.
His home screen comprised of a picture of Kota and Eri playing on the beach together. He remembered taking them to Dagobah beach hours ago, and met them play to their hearts content. Eri wore seashells in her hair, and wore aquamarine shorts matching with a purple mermaids tank top. Kota had a t-shirt with a starfish on it and a pair of red shorts to match. Both were playing and making a sand castle together.
Izuku smiled and placed the phone in his cloak.
He now had more a reason to fight.
For his family. For the children he couldn't meet. For the people he would never meet.
"Seriously, Midorya? Ice cream for breakfast?"
Aizawa had walked into Izuku's office where he noticed Eri and a boy he didn't recognize licking on their own ice cream cones.
Izuku smiled. "Of course. I owe it to them."
"Do tell."
Izuku grinned. "Would you believe it if I just wanted to be a good dad?"
The lazy eyes of his coworker did little to ease the mood. "No."
Izuku laughed. "Alright alright. I was late to tuck them in so I told them I'd buy them ice cream this morning. Plus ice cream is delicious."
Aizawa only stared at him in his signature fashion. "Uh huh."
Izuku chuckled. "Yeah, now what brings you in here?"
There was a pause before Aizawa motioned a student to the room. "The students are all here. You know what you're doing. I'm going to take a nap." He yawned. "You're on your own." The gruff teacher left.
Izuku sighed. knew he'd have to start sometime soon.
He looked to the screen on his desk. "Alright, first is Mina Ashido."
He looked to the door. "Mina Ashido? You're up first."
The day went swimmingly, having talked to all of the students in 1-A. They seemed to understand where they went wrong, and how they could have used their advantages more.
The most troublesome was a small group: Tsuyu Asui, Momo Yaoyorozu, Katsuki Bakugo, and Denki Kaminari.
The problem with Tsuyu wasn't with her quirk, it was more of how she used it. He played the last match Tsuyu was in, and explained that it was important to have the mindset that your opponent is always ahead beings you ahead of them. He explained that there was no way for her to know that Kodai was instinctively aware of the battlefield, but Tsuyu had every advantage in the situation. She could have tossed projectiles to her opponent to throw them off, or trained herself to use her arms and become less reliant on her tongue and legs. The inability of both could render her useless.
Momo had the least amount of trouble out of the four students, but had trouble nonetheless. He told Momo that if she didn't know how to use the weapons she creates, then there is no point to actually using them. She could have made ear plugs for the two of them, or created something to shine light and weaken the shadow.
Katsuki was a whole different issue. Izuku assumed that Katsuki believed he was off the hook for attacking a competitor. After an hour of arguing, he officially announced the student to not use his quirk at all for two weeks, even at home. Suspension would be consequented once for disobeying once, then afterwards is grounds for expulsion. At this, Katsuki seemed to quiet down.
Kaminari was the most troublesome. Not for behaviour, but more so his quirk. Izuku listened to the student talk more in depth about his quirk, and why he sometimes doesn't like using it full force, and it was then that Izuku completely understood.
He figured out that every time Kaminari uses all his power, it overrode his receptors leading to the brain. Thus, any logic, reason, and philosophy were out the window. It acted as a mandatory recharge for his body. Izuku also found from the student that small charges wouldn't do any major or lasting damage. What Kaminari didn't figure out completely was that whenever he uses a conductor, his voltage is amplified, distributing actual damage. A smile grew on the student's face when he was allowed to use escrima sticks in spars and in class, but only in hero training.
He was pretty much finished with 1-A by lunch time, and the two kids got to know more about the students and about heroes.
Izuku frowned when Kota seemed angry whenever heroes or hero type anything came about. He would ask about it later.
He was helping his kids with their lunch when a figure popped into the room.
"Principal Nezu, how can I help you?"
Eri smiled widely when she saw him. "Mr. Mouse Man!"
Nezu chuckled, giving a hug to Eri. "I have come to check up on you. Have you completed your evaluations of the students?"
Izuku nodded. "Yup, now I just have to start analyzing class 1-B. I should be ready by two."
Nezu smiled. "Good, good. Now, who's this fellow here?" He turned towards Kota, who stared at Nezu curiously.
"That's Kota, my son."
Nezu's eyes widened. "Son? You didn't tell me you have one."
"Didn't have the time. Plus, I wanted to prevent-"
"YAY! IZUKU HAS ANOTHER KID!" Present Mic, Power Loader and Snipe barged into the room, gushing over Kota.
"-that."
Nezu laughed. "Dont tell me you're going to try to adopt more. I don't think our employees would have enough heart to handle the cuteness of your kids."
Izuku grumbled. "Dont remind me."
Present Mic brought our a couple lollies. "So, what's your name, little listener?"
"Kota."
Present Mic beamed. "Nice to meet you Kota! I'm Hizashi Yamada! Call me uncle Mic."
"Alright, uncle Yama."
Present Mic stood, stunned.
Izuku sweatdropped. He knew what was coming.
"I LOVE THAT NAME!"
There it is.
After forcibly pushing his coworkers out, he decided to let Eri and Kota play with some guests while they eat.
Izuku was in his outfit, but his mask was removed, laying on the table. It got too stuffy with that thing on sometimes. He called in the calvary so he can get some work done.
Momo, Yui, Kirishima, and Shinso sat next to the two children, talking about heroes and colours, and whatever came to mind. Kirishima and Shinso played with Kota, while Momo and Yui played with Eri.
Izuku at the moment was watching footage of class 1-B's students during the festival, writing down any important notes of actions he noted.
"Daddy! Look!"
"Hmm?" He lazily turned his head to his daughter and immediately turned beet red.
Momo, Yui, and Eri all had their hair done, with Yui's and Momo's hair braided and off to the side, and they looked away bashfully. He drank in how pretty they looked. Eri might be onto something."Wow, Eri! did you do their hair?"
Eri bounced in her seat. "Yeah! Don't they look pretty?"
He chuckled. "No, Eri, you all look beautiful."
She ran to him and jumped in his lap. "Do you really mean it?"
He patted her hair, careful not to disturb her work. "Yes, Eri. You made you and them look extra pretty!" He laughed when Eri "patted" his hair. It was more of a light slap.
"I get to do yours next!"
He smiled. "Of course. Now, will you watch the students with me? or do you want to play with Ms. Momo and Ms. Yui?"
"I wanna play with them!"
"Ok, have fun!" He smiled to the two students and gave both a thumbs up. He resumed his duty.
Momo was a red mess. She looked away, his words replaying over and over in her mind. Does he really think? She shook her head. He was probably comforting his daughter's opinion.
Is that really it?
Momo prayed it wasn't.
Yui was more calm, but internally she was in panic mode.
He thinks I'm beautiful!
He called me pretty!
He called all of you pretty.
Hush, you! Let me have this!
She pushed that internal doubt aside. She peered over to the counselor, who was muttering observations. She lightly smiled, a small blush dusting over her cheeks.
"Ms. Yui?"
She turned to Eri. "Yes?"
"Do you like daddy?"
Yui nearly choked on her spit. She looked around, and there was Momo, who looked just as surprised as she was.
Thankfully, the boys were busy wrestling with Kota.
Yui looked back to the small girl. "Why?"
Eri tilted her head. "You keep looking at him. And smiling! And you talked about dinner!"
Yui smiled. Bless a child's ignorance as well as her intelligence."Maybe."
Eri didn't like the answer, but looked to Momo. "You do the same thing!"
Now it was Momo's turn to splutter in surprise.
"Wha- I uh- Huh?"
Eri beamed. "Yeah! You do the same thing! 'Cept for dinner!"
Momo blushed. This child is really perceptive. She's not Izuku's adopted child for nothing.
She cleared her throat. "So tell me Eri, does your daddy think Yui and I are... pretty?"
God Damn, it was awkward asking a child these things.
Eri put a finger to her chin, deep in thought. "I think-"
"YOU'RE NOT WINNING THIS TIME KOTA!"
"-I think he thinks you two are very pretty. I dunno. But I think you and Ms. Yui are super pretty!"
Momo smiled. "Why thank you, Eri." She had a light blush. She thinks he thinks we're pretty? That's not much to go on.
Yui may not have shown it, but she was glaring daggers at Momo. This wasn't supposed to happen. No, She was supposed to go out with Izuku, not Momo.
"Yui, shall we talk after this?" Momo's voice cut through her musings like a knife.
Yui only nodded.
Momo smiled. "Alright Eri, what do you want to do?"
"Play with the boys!"
Momo laughed, grabbing onto Eri's hand. "Then let's go." Yui watched the two walk. Taking a look at the counselor, who was oblivious to their talk, she smiled. She quickly followed in pursuit of Momo.
Izuku collapsed on the desk. He was finally finished analyzing the class of 1-B. He looked to the clock. 1:44? I'm faster than I thought. He looked to where he thought the kids and students would be, and smiled. Eri and Kota lay next to each other, gleefully snoring. The other students were wet?
"Oh hey everyone! Why are you all soaked?"
The students glanced up in surprise, clearly exhausted.
Shinso spoke up. "Kota. He used his quirk on us."
Izuku looked at them in surprise. "What?"
Momo spoke this time. "His quirk. It got the best of us."
Izuku only stared at them blankly.
The four students stared at him incredulously. "Izuku," Kirishima started "Do you not know what Kota's quirk is?"
Izuku looked repeatedly between Kota and the students, silent tears starting to stream down his jaw. "N-no. What is it?"
"Water manipulation. It's strong too. Felt like a whip when he hit me."
Izuku smiled. "He never used his quirk before. What did you all do to get him to use it?"
Kirishima laughed. "Wrestling."
"I see." Izuku laughed.
He cleared his throat. "All of you are free to go, thank you all so much for keeping them preoccupied while I was working."
The four nodded, smiling.
Shinso and Kirishima started a conversation about how strong the kids were, and left. Momo and Yui waited a moment, looking at Eri with endearment.
"Momo, Yui, what's up?"
The two girls looked up in surprise. Yui didn't say anything and started to walk out, but stopped at the vice of a grip Momo had on her blazer.
Momo smiled sweetly. "I was wondering if you'd like to accompany us for lunch after classes end today? J-Just to get to know you, that's all."
Izuku stared at her blankly.
Momo looked away, her face turning crimson. "You don't have to I-if you don't want to, that is. I-"
"Ok."
The girls snapped their heads to the counselor. "Huh?" Momo was a mess.
"Yeah, I'd love to go to lunch with you two. Plus I promised Power Loader I'd let the kids hang with him after school. So it'll be nice to have some time to wait on them."
Momo and Yui internally squealed. In contrast, they were both as cool as a cucumber on the outside.
Momo nodded. "Then we shall meet at the gates and determine where to eat after?"
Izuku gave her a small smile. "Sounds like a plan."
