Izuku slumped on his desk, groaning in relief.
He was finally finished with class 1-B. Not that there wasn't more students, but there was definitely more to go over with them. Most of them didn't pass the calvary battle, and almost all of them didn't pass through the first round of the festival.
He finally understood the differences between the classes.
On top of numbers of robots destroyed, those in class 1-A showed more potential to become pro heroes, and they scored more points or were more creative in how they demolished the monstrosities that were robots.
Class 1-B was like a freshly dug diamond: unrefined. With help, those students could become iconic gems for the future.
If his kids wanted to be heroes, he wouldn't care if they were in class A or B. All students in the hero course wanted to help people in one way or another.
Of course, now he had to analyze the few support course and general studies students that competed. While not many, there were plenty to lose sleep over.
He would go for the business course students, but none of them actually competed in the tournament. They were on the sidelines pretty much the whole time.
For now, his job was done for the day. He could actually spend time with his two favourite kids.
He looked over, and paled.
They were gone.
He shot from his seat, frantically checking the room. They weren't hiding in cupboards or under tables. He looked over.
The door was slightly ajar. his skin paled further.
This was bad.
He ran out of the room, dialing Aizawa.
He had to find his kids.
He couldn't lose them.
Aizawa trudged his way to his classroom. He couldn't wait to slip in his favourite sleeping bag, and just lose consciousness.
It was his favourite time of day, after all.
He paused when his phone vibrated. Rolling his eyes at the user ID, he begrudgingly answered.
"What is it, Midorya?" He really didn't have the patience. He stopped when he heard a faint sob.
"Aizawa! It's the kids! I-I don't know where they are. They were napping, and I went to work, and I look up and they're missing!" He cried harder. "I don't know what to do!"
Aizawa dropped his stoic act. He went into hero mode, which was a more aware state of mind. "Ok, calm down Midorya. I'm going to look around. Let's hope they're still here." He entered his homeroom and stopped when he saw movement in his sleeping bag.
He smiled. "Hey, Izuku, I found them."
"THANK YOU! Where are you?"
"My homeroom."
Click. Aizawa glanced at his phone and sighed. As much as he hated to admit, he cared for the children of the problem counselor. He believed he would act the same as Midorya if he lost a kid.
He walked into the classroom and briefly looked at his class. They were all trying to hold in their gushes at the sleeping bag, which made Aizawa focus at the task at hand.
The two kids were fast asleep in the yellow bag. Eri held a toy unicorn and Kota held a toy car.
Aizawa smiled. How could he not? He turned to the class. "Since I can't get into my sleeping bag right now, let's talk about the upcoming week. You all will decide on a hero name on Monday, so please think about your hero name. If you decide to slack around and make one up as a joke, you'll regret it, considering the name you choose may be yours for the rest of your hero career."
He shrugged. "I dont care what you pick. Just make sure you have it thought of by next week. Class dismissed." With that, he sat behind his desk, waiting on Midorya.
Within a second after sitting down, every eye looked towards the door as Izuku rushed in, eyes scanning the room frantically.
"Uh, Mr. Midorya? What's going on?"
Izuku didn't seem to hear Kaminari as he locked eyes with Aizawa. "Where are they?"
Aizawa smirked. "My sleeping bag."
Izuku collapsed to his knees, relief overtaking his entire form. He began to cry, nothing in the world could stop his tears.
"Oh thank god. Thank god, Aizawa. I thought I lost them, like I lost my-" He shook his head, not daring to finish that sentence. He smiled. "Thank you so much, Aizawa. I really owe you one."
Aizawa smirked. "I'll hold you to it."
The rest of the class was stunned by what they witnessed. It wasn't a villain attacking, nor was it Quirkless fighting yet another hero. They saw vulnerability in him. They saw a whole different side to him.
"What you two did was completely dangerous." Izuku placed Eri and Kota down in front of him when the class left completely. "You both could have gotten hurt."
Kota and Eri nodded, their heads down.
"As much as I'm glad you're both okay, do you know how worried I was? I thought you two were taken from me." Izuku hated doing this, but it was a must.
Izuku hated being mad, but he disdained the feeling of disappointment. It left everyone with a serious rack of guilt, and he hated shouldering that feeling.
Eri and Kota nodded again.
"What do you two have to say?" Izuku hated this.
"We're sorry daddy, we won't do it again." Damn her eyes! They were so big that Izuku found it hard to keep his disappointment.
He smiled. "It's ok you two. Next time don't hesitate to let me know where you want to go." Eri and Kota smiled. "Now, someone told me you used your quirk for the first time." He looked to Kota, who shuffled uncomfortably.
"I'm sor-" "I'm so proud of you." Kota's face snapped towards his adoptive father in shock.
Izuku beamed. "You used your quirk to get the best of all four heroes in training? You're so strong! And you didn't hurt them. You'll make a great hero." His eyes widened slightly when Kota gave him a slight scowl. "What's wrong, Kota?"
Kota looked at him worryingly. "I don't like heroes."
Izuku nodded. Hero work wasn't for everyone. "Can you tell me why?"
"Everyone says my parents were useless heroes, which is why they died. If Heroes are so great, why weren't they there to save them?" Kota had tears streaming down his face.
Izuku reached out to Kota and pulled him into a hug, Eri following his example as well. Izuku smiled at his son, tears of his own falling. "Kota."
The boy looked at his father.
"I know how you feel."
Kota shook his head. Izuku stopped him right there. "No, I really do. Kota, Eri," his daughter looked up at him as well. "The reason why you don't have a grandma is because my mom was killed by a villain. Heroes did come, but... They were too late. No hero saved my mom, and for a long time I felt the same way as you, Kota. What good are heroes if they couldn't even save my mom?"
"So you became a vigilante?"
Izuku smiled. "Yeah, I became a vigilante because of that. I swore to myself that I would help as many little boys and little girls as I can, and as many mommies and daddies that I can so they don't go what we all went through. I adopted you, Kota, so you would have a dad, and I did the same for you, Eri." He ruffled both of their hairs. "And because I love you both so much.
Kota stopped crying, and looked down. "I'm sorry, dad."
Izuku paused, squealing internally. He remained calm on the outside. "It's okay, Kota. you didn't know." He pulled the two into a hug, comforting them for a minute.
When they pulled apart, he grinned. "I have a surprise for the both of you." The kids looked at him curiously. "You two are seeing uncle Loader! He's going to teach you how to build toys and stuff!" He laughed at their excitement. The two rushed ahead of him, grabbing both of his hands and pulled him ahead.
"Wait, wait! Do you two know where he is?"
The kids stopped, and shook their heads. Izuku chucked and led them, listening to their chatter about their day.
He was surprised to hear that Eri was able to tackle Shinso, in which she took him by surprise. He was pleased she was socializing well.
Momo and Yui walked to the gate together, a comfortable silence between them. They both were anxious, yet the two of them refused to show it. Yui was more a natural at this, since she rarely expressed anything.
The two stopped at the gate, and waited. The two still stood, awkward as ever.
They waited for a minute before Momo turned to Yui. "Hey."
Yui only looked at Momo.
Momo wore a light smile. "So, uh, dinner, huh?"
Yui only blinked.
The black haired girl swallowed nervously. "So, that means you like him, right?"
Yui only stared passively at her.
"A-and I wanted to go to dinner with him too, you know, because he's so charming, and mature, and, uh, I'll stop talking now." She looked down, blushing.
"You like him too." It was more along the lines of a statement than question.
Momo whipped her head in Yui's direction, her face reddening. "Well, um, uh, y-yeah."
Yui gave her a reassuring smile. "Then we see how this goes."
Momo glanced at her, confusion flickering in her eyes. "How this goes?"
Yui nodded. "You said have dinner or lunch to get to know him better."
"I suppose I did."
"Lets do that."
Momo could only blink in surprise. "R-right."
Before Momo could question her any further they heard incoming footsteps. They turned to see Izuku running in their direction, waving.
"Hey girls, sorry I'm late. Have you been waiting long?"
"No." "Not really."
Izuku smiled. "Great! Any idea of where you want to go? I know a few places whenever I just want to catch a break."
Momo and Yui looked at each other, and nodded. Momo turned her head to the counselor. "What you want sounds fine."
Izuku smiled. He didn't know the motive of the girls too well, but they did just say to get to know him better. Maybe they want to be friends.
"Would... you... have dinner? With me?"
Izuku sighed. He may be an idiot most of the time, but he was rarely oblivious. He knew Yui liked him, but did Momo feel the same? Did he even feel the same? He guessed he'll have to find out somehow.
He grinned, his smile turning Cheshire. "You girls are going to love this."
"I'll admit, eating ramen on the rooftops watching the sunset isn't what I had in mind." Yui only nodded as she ate some of her ramen.
Izuku chuckled at Momo's words, and slurped up some noodles. He, Yui, and Momo were currently on a rooftop of his apartment, where the sunset was just the best in his opinion. Spending most of your life running over rooftops will do that to you.
They talked about their families, what they did, and what was amazing about them. They talked about shared interests, the girls' classmates, their favourite foods. Izuku cracked jokes that the girls groaned at, but laughed anyways. Izuku even talked about some of his adventures, like when he rescued Gang Orca from a group of poachers.
Deciding to introduce a new topic, he cleared his throat. "So, girls, what makes me so interesting? Why ask me out?"
The two girls just about choked on their food. He certainly was blunt. After a minute of coughing, they stayed silent, while their eyes spoke the unsaid question.
"Well, I'm not one to beat around the bush about these kinds of things, honestly. When it comes to feelings like these, I find it best to just put it all out there, rather than hide it to the point of killing you internally."
Yui and Momo sat on the ledge, silent. Both knew he had a point, but were they willing to answer him?
It wasn't even something they were able to hide. Like the teen said, they did ask him out, reason or not.
Momo looked down. Yui looked towards the sunset.
Izuku thought he messed up somewhere. "Listen," he started. "If you don't want to answer me right now, it's cool. You probably don't want to be with me anyways. We could always talk about something else."
Momo and Yui looked at him, thinking the exact same thing. What did he mean?
Momo was the one to break the silence. "What do you mean? Why wouldn't we want to be with you? We like you, if that much was obvious." Yui nodded.
Izuku paused, then sighed. "I'm going to be blunt here. I believe myself to be undateable. I stay up late for long hours, I work two jobs, and any free time I may have is spent with my two kids, which I believe is the right call. My kids are my world. On top of that, I have two kids. What woman wants to be with a single dad?"
He looked away. "Not to mention, I have loads of issues. I'm definitely not going into that, but hey, why else would I be sleep deprived all the time?"
Momo walked to him and grabbed his arm, stopping him from his self depricating tirade. "Izuku, you are wrong."
Izuku could only look at her. "Eh?"
"Izuku, we don't like you for what you think you are, we like you because of who you are. You're selfless, you are kind, humble, cute, and hard working. You care for the students as if they were your own, and you are super protective of you kids. You're just amazing." She finished off by hugging his arm.
"You taking care of the kids is sexy."
Momo and Izuku spun around to meet Yui staring straight at Izuku, the two completely bewildered. They didn't know how to respond. It was so out of character for Yui.
"eeehhh?" Was all Izuku could pipe out.
Yui's only response was a deep blush.
Momo was speechless.
Izuku turned back to Momo. "I have a lot to take in. I can honestly say that I'm not sure if I'm ready for a relationship. Not even with two amazing, beautiful girls. I just adopted two wonderful children, and I can say that I want to explore life with them first." He kissed both Momo and Yui on the hand, not noticing a crimson blush on the two girls.
"I hope you understand." He felt broken, as if he just threw something away and missed it dearly.
Momo and Yui's eyes softened. Izuku noted that they were both deeply saddened by this.
A light went off in the counselor's head. Turning towards the two, he smiled. "How about this? Give me a month to have a feel about living with my kids. I also need to see if I'm even able to date anyone, let alone students. If I get a green light, and If you're still up for it, I'll take you both on a proper date. How about it?"
Momo and Yui didn't hesitate. While Yui just smiled and nodded, Momo clasped her hands together. "Deal!"
Izuku smiled. His mind went insane.
What did I just get myself into?
