The seven students and the vigilante were currently taking a break. Izuku is currently going over the list of culprits he'd been charged to arrest. So far, he hasn't caught anyone.
It seemed fate loved him that day because he. heard screaming.
His attention captured, he motioned for the interns to follow him. He jumped onto the ledge of another building, and looked over.
He saw a balding man hold a woman by the hair very forcefully. He had a knife in one hand while he held the woman in the other. He couldn't make out what he was saying, but he didn't need to. All the evidence was right there.
He checked the pictures he held.
Sure enough, he was one of the culprits. Without hesitation, he jumped off the ledge and landed silently on a balcony closer to the criminal.
The students observed. Kyoka looked to Kirishima. "How's he doing that?"
Kirishima chuckled. "Years of practice. Just years of practice."
Back with Izuku, he smirked when he heard the guy say no one is helping her. He shook his head. They always did this.
"Is that so, Samuel? Well, while no one is coming for her, I'm sure headed for you." He jumped off the balcony and landed a few meters away from the stunned rapist.
Before the criminal could react, Izuku already shocked him with a taser, and kicked the sole of his right foot directly into the man's calf, snapping it like a twig.
"Shouldn't have forgotten about leg day, buddy." He rolled his eyes at the boo sent his way by Kirishima.
With the criminal downed, he grabbed some rope and tied the criminal up, dialing Tsukauchi at the same time. After letting the detective know the man was apprehended, he tied him to a telephone pole, and turned to approach the victim. He found an empty space where the woman was, and shrugged.
He used a grappling hook to return to his students, and continued with patrol, deciding to go home when it hit ten o clock.
"Daddy!"
Izuku laughed as Eri ran into his arms. How he missed his kids. "Hey there unicorn! How was your day with auntie Fumi?"
Fuyumi walked in with Kota, and smiled at the vigilante.
"It was good! I saw so many animals!"
Izuku grinned. "Really? Which one was your favourite?"
"The zebras! No, the tigers! No! The parrots!"
Izuku laughed once more. "You can have more than one favourite, Eri. You can have all the animals in the world."
"Even a unicorn?"
"Yes, Eri, even a unicorn."
"Yay!"
Izuku chuckled as he looked at the table. "Hey there Kota! How was the zoo with auntie Fuyumi?"
Kota smiled. "Good! I really liked the turtles."
Izuku nodded. Turtles are cool!" He paused, am eyebrow raised. "You didn't attack anyone with your quirk right?"
Kota slightly blushed. "I may have pranked one or two people."
"Oh yeah?! Try again squirt!"
Izuku and Kota whipped their heads to the door, where Natsuo was drenched head to toe with water.
Kota yelped and ran to Izuku, hiding behind his leg. "Save me!"
Izuku laughed. "Now Natsuo, are you really going to destroy Kota for getting you wet?"
"Yes."
Izuku smiled, turning to Kota. "I guess you better run then!" He laughed when Natsuo charged for Kota, dodging the little one on the way. He shook his head and walked to the living room, where a few of his interns sat.
Momo looked at Izuku. "Who was that?"
Izuku smiled brightly. "Oh, only the eldest of the Todorokis." He waved and walked to his room to lay down.
Shouto chuckled at the exasperated look Momo wore, and sighed when she began a long stream or questions.
Three hours later, everything was calm. Everyone was in bed, lights were off, the kids were asleep.
All in all, everything was just...at peace.
Izuku sat on his back porch, just thinking. He stared at the sky, admiring the stars twinkling.
He missed this.
He missed taking the time to just watch the stars, a shred of hope they delivered some uncanny wisdom onto him.
To his displeasure, nothing really happened, but it was fine. He was calm, that's what really mattered.
He was just so busy all the time. Taking care of the kids, seeing to his tenants, his jobs, he was just too busy to watch the stars.
Tonight was rare for him.
He paused when he heard the sliding door open. Smiling as he watched Momo carefully walk to him, he moved his gaze back to the starry night, adjusting his seating as the young lady sat on the right side of him.
Smiling at the girl, he continued to gaze at the city surrounding them.
"What are you thinking about, Izuku?"
Izuku turned to Momo, who was smiling curiously. He wanted to answer right away, but something held him back. He wanted to be honest to these two about who he was, how he came to be this way, but his subconscious just wouldn't let him speak his mind.
"Nothing, Momo." He moved his gaze between the two. "What are you doing up? We have training first thing."
She shrugged. "I couldn't sleep. I had too much on my mind."
Izuku nodded in understanding. "Well, it's certainly not my place to pry, so if you don't want to talk about-"
"It's about you."
"...huh?"
Momo blushed. "I'm sorry to interrupt."
"It's fine. What about me keeps you up?"
"Well, it's...everything about you."
Izuku frowned. "Explain, please."
The young lady refused to meet his eyes. "It's just, I don't know anything about you, and it drives me crazy. I want to know how you became a vigilante when you could've become a hero! I want to know why you decided to adopt two kids when you're fourteen! I want to know your favourite colour, your aspirations, your favourite tea, favourite everything. I just can't not want to know a lot about you."
Izuku chuckled at what sounded like a paragraph as it rolled out of her lips.
He placed his hands in his lap. "Momo, what I have to say about my life is for those I trust with my life-"
"Then trust me! Please!" Momo was begging him at this point. "You said you'd give me and Yui an answer a day ago! Why is it so hard for you to trust me!"
"Because it's not anyone's business how I became this way!"
The two were silent at Izuku's raised voice. Momo stopped whatever flowed from her mouth, and looked at the vigilante in surprise, startled that he could raise his voice to her.
Izuku's stare softened, guilt being drawn over his eyes. "Listen, Momo. What I went through, what I am, is only for those who I trust deeply. I'm sorry I yelled at you, but I'm just not ready for anyone to know." He tried to place a hand on her shoulder, but she edged away from him.
He sighed internally. And here I thought I couldn't make things any worse.
"Momo." She was still turned away. "I want to trust you, I really want to-"
"So what's stopping you?"
He paused. Her voice was cold, frigid even. He hesitated before speaking.
"I don't know if you would accept me for who I am if I told you." She turned to look at him, curiosity slightly covering the anger in her features.
"Listen, Momo, I know I shouldn't be this way, this angsty, but everyone has their moments. I just...what are you doing?"
She leaned close to him, and she was eventually to the point where their noses touched.
Momo looked deep into his eyes, and filled in the space between them. With one final phrase, she finalized her act.
"Trust me, please."
Izuku stiffened, unable to process that her lips captured his, and they were kissing.
Despite his inner protests, he kissed her back, and his hands slowly raveled around her waist, holding her tightly.
After a few minutes, they parted, breathing in as if they haven't had oxygen for the past millennia. She once again looked in his eyes, and he smiled.
"Momo, I-"
*bzzt*
He internally groaned, vowing to destroy whatever god ruined this moment. His eyes scanned over the screen, and they widened.
Momo was concerned. "What is it?"
Izuku jumped out of his seat, and looked over his shoulder. "Momo, stay here. You and Kirishima are in charge. There's been an emergency. I need to go."
"Where are you going?"
"Hosu. There's been an attack by major villains. It's utter hell over there. Whatever you do, don't follow me, and do not let anyone else follow me. That's an order."
"But Izuku!"
"No! Do not follow! If I lost any of you, I don't know what I'd do. These villains aren't playing games. Five pro heroes are dead, and many more civilians are gone as well. Stay here." With that, he walked through the house, grabbing his cloak and equipment, as well as a medical kit. The door closed, and soon enough, six heads peeped through a hall.
Momo looked at her lap, then at the stars. What is going on in Hosu?
"YaoMomo!"
"GAH!" She whipped her body in the direction of the voice, breathing heavily due to the scare.
Kyoka smiled apologetically. "Sorry, but where's teach going? It sounded important." The other five heads nodded.
Momo regained her footing, and sighed. "Something about a villain attack in Hosu, from what he told me."
To everyone's surprise, Todoroki was the next to speak up. "Then we go too. We have to protect him." His peers nodded, except for Momo.
"No! He told me not to follow, and for you all not to follow either!"
"And why would he inform you of that when he could have gone off silently?"
Momo blushed at Tsuyu's question. "Uh… I was grabbing a water when he saw me?" It was more a question than a statement. The guys seemed to buy it, but the girls peered at her with narrowed eyes. It didn't add up to them.
Todoroki frowned. "Momo. He's our charge. We know this. However, what would happen if we don't go? he could be injured with no one to see to him. We wouldn't even know if he died. Imagine the pain the kids would be in if he passed. None of us can let that happen. So we'll go, with or without you. It's your decision to come, as we've made ours."
Kirishima nodded. Then let's go to Hosu." Before Momo could protest, the six students ran to slip into their hero outfits, and the tall girl sighed in defeat. Walking to the couch where Fuyumi slept (late night reading), she gently shook her awake and explained what was going on.
To Momo's surprise, the sister Todoroki nodded and told her to go. "Make sure Eri and Kota's father returns alive." Momo joined the other girls and changed.
Momo stared at Her costume for a minute before changing into it.
Please be okay, Izuku.
