When Izuku arrived at Gym Gamma, he noticed Mirio already sitting on a bench, ready to go.
Smiling at his kids, Izuku told them to interact with the older kids as he prepared for his duel with Mirio.
Stretching Izuku quickly took count of everything in his cloak. He smirked. His capture pellets were in place, as well as his quirk dampeners. He smiled at the blonde teen, and walked to him.
"Clean battle? No murder?" Izuku's question made Mirio laugh.
"As if you could touch me."
Izuku didn't show it, but he knew that Mirio was underestimating him. He was confident, but he was still a student. He could still learn.
With the little bit of information he had about Mirio - he permeated through his walls and door - he theorized that the older teen would sink through the floor and attack him when he came up.
It was a lot like the old comic book character Shadowcat. She could phase through walls, often bringing people with her. He doubted Mirio could do the same, but he knew the ability to permeate through anything could be deadly.
Motion waved to him. "Are you ready to start?"
Izuku nodded, and formed a stance meant for boxing. While he didn't know his opponents fighting style, he would rather play it safe with as many as three styles, mainly to throw the blonde off.
As expected from what he's seen, Mirio sunk into the floor, not a trace of him apparent. Izuku knew that his opponent would be either behind or in front, and if he guessed right…
He immediately swung a fist behind him, hitting nothing, but hearing a grunt of surprise. Leaping forward, he didn't bother turning around, knowing Mirio would have entered the floor again. He grabbed a taser, watching his surroundings carefully.
He didn't expect Mirio to actually jump through him, and the act caught him off guard. He was thrown by the older teen, and immediately twisted in the air so he could land on his feet.
Once again, Mirio was back in the floor, and Izuku smirked. There was probably a limited time he could do this over and over, and based on the slightly slower entrance, he was starting to give out.
He had to act fast. Moving to the left, he turned around, feigning his next move.
He smirked again when he noticed Mirio's face peek out for a split second. Back in his position, Izuku knew he had a limited amount of time before the blonde shot out of the ground.
Then, he heard it.
There was a slight change in the air. It wouldn't usually be noticeable, but Izuku trained in the wind many times before.
He swung his dominant arm to the side, activating the taser, and was satisfied when he heard a pained grunt.
Leaping forward, he grabbed his pistol, and shot at the blonde, who was still recovering from the electrocution. He didn't even flinch when a dart struck his chest.
Curiously, Mirio plucked the dart off of him, and stared at it curiously. Izuku then rushed towards Mirio, a staff expanding in his hands.
Mirio smirked, and crossed his arms. After a second, the blonde expressed a perplexed look, seemingly frustrated.
Izuku grinned. This was exactly what he was waiting for.
Izuku swung his staff like a bat, and sent Mirio skidding a few meters on the ground, while Mirio was distracted.
Mirio stood up and glared. "What happened to my quirk?"
Izuku only sprinted at the blonde, who just realized that Izuku wasn't going to reveal anything.
Mirio frowned. "Well, my quirk may be useless, but I can still fight!" He proved this by matching a punch.
Izuku slightly grimaced. Mirio wasn't lying, and it showed by the stalemate they were locked in.
However, Izuku wasn't a one trick pony. Backflipping away from the blonde, he grabbed his staff and collapsed it, putting it away. In its stead, he grabbed a rope attachment, and put the end of the tool in his pistol.
Mirio laughed at the action. "What are you going to do with rope?"
Izuku didn't answer. He sprinted around poles that were set up in Gamma, and continued to run, while Mirio laughed.
As Izuku ran, Mirio stopped laughing. He was on guard now, as Izuku was thoroughly surrounding him with rope, and it looked more like he was in the middle of a boxing ring.
"Fifteen minutes."
Mirio halted, confused by the vague phrasing.
Soon, he had enough of this dance. He couldn't use his quirk, and he didn't have the slightest idea what the vigilante's plan was.
He bent his legs, and prepared to jump…
...when electricity shocked him to his core.
Convulsing, he glared at the rope surrounding him, and his eyes widened.
It was a metal conduit.
Izuku formed an electric arena, sparks of electricity shooting to Mirio and striking him everywhere.
He'd been played a fool with simple science.
Izuku rested on the top of one side of rope, smirking. His voice was low, but commanding. "Do you yield?"
Mirio grit his teeth, his mouth shut tight.
"Mirio, you've been made quirkless, you're being electrocuted, you're surrounded. I'll ask again, do you yield?"
The blonde's voice was low.
"I-I yield."
Izuku pressed a button on his wrist. The electricity stopped immediately, and Mirio collapsed to the ground.
He started taking down the makeshift cage, and walked to the blonde teen.
"Good match."
When he finished putting his tools away, he walked to his kids, and the three Midoriya's left Gym Gamma, leaving a tired Mirio, and a very surprised remainder of the big three.
"I'm on my way."
Izuku was sipping on tea in the kitchen when he received a call from Tsukauchi. Apparently, strange figures were seen on rooftops closer to his apartment.
One figure had a black trenchcoat, the other a plain black long sleeve shirt with a hand over his face.
Undoubtedly, they couldn't be identified by the local police.
Izuku grabbed onto his uniform and quickly slipped into it. He held his keys and walked to his door.
"Where are you going?"
Of course he forgot he had guests in his house. Turning around, he spotted Todoroki sitting on the couch, gazing curiously at the vigilante.
"I have to get to work."
Todoroki nodded. "Have fun."
Izuku turned, and flashed a hand, signalling his departure, when gears turned in his head. He looked to the student, who now held a raised eyebrow.
"How would you like some vigilante experience?"
When he meant vigilante experience, he meant it.
While Todoroki wasn't allowed to use his quirk, he was able to fight people on the way to their destination. The only standard was not to kill, which he wouldn't have anyways.
The people the two fought were house robbers and perverts who felt they were entitled to feeling a woman up.
The worst was a guy with a gun, in which Todoroki used his quirk for self defense.
Izuku was ahead of him by a few meters, scanning left and right for any signs of the two people described. Eventually, they ended up on the rooftops.
When he first started leaping from roof to roof, Todoroki was not good at it. It turned out he needed way more leg strength than he gave Izuku credit for.
Now, it was a natural feeling, being able to fly in the air briefly.
After three hours of searching, Todoroki was about to give up.
Sitting down to catch his breath, Izuku walked up to him, a water bottle in hand.
The vigilante smirked. "Tired already?"
Todoroki lightly glared at him.
Izuku laughed. "Alright, alright, we can take a small break. Then we go back to searching."
The candy cane haired boy nodded and downed his water bottle. After a minute, he stood up and stretched his legs, ready to go.
He turned to find Izuku still, watching and listening to his environment.
His eyebrow raised. "What's the problem?"
"Shh."
Todoroki was silenced.
Izuku motioned for him to back up, while the vigilante took a pistol from his cloak.
Shouto did as told, watching with caution as well.
After fifteen minutes, the two relaxed.
Well, they were relaxed.
Izuku leaped towards the student and covered him on the floor, In time for a stream of blue flames to shoot over them.
The two immediately stood up, weapons drawn.
Todoroki wasn't given a weapon, since his quirk was enough. Izuku held his pistol with capture pellets and a flamethrower.
Izuku and Todoroki steeled themselves when they watched a man with black hair walked away from a wall and towards them, as a shorter man with grey hair walked in from the other direction.
Izuku narrowed his eyes, waiting for the enemy to start talking.
Lesson one: never speak first.
The grey haired man only watched his opponents as they remained silent.
After a minute, he held a hand out, his miniscule tone voicing out one command: "hold".
Dabi immediately held his flames to himself, allowing simple embers to dance on his arm. The grey haired one studying the heroes for a few seconds before speaking.
"I assume you're Quirkless, correct?" He didn't wait for Izuku to speak. "My name is Shigaraki, and I am the head of the League of Villains. This here is Dabi, an associate of mine. I trust you weren't unwelcomed by our unconventional introduction?"
Izuku just glared at the now known Shigaraki.
Shigaraki ignored the silence. "I've comes to make an offer, but the successor of Endeavor shouldn't be here for it. I expected you alone."
Before Izuku could speak a third party intercepted them and grabbed onto Todoroki, placing a cloth over his nose and mouth. As soon as Todoroki was down, he was placed on the ground near Izuku, to show that he/she would not harm the student in training.
With Todoroki out of the picture, Shigaraki nodded. "About that offer…"
"Who was that?" Izuku growled out.
Shigaraki chuckled. "Oh, that's Toga. She's very skilled at these kinds of things."
Izuku didn't show it, but he was surprised that Toga was even here. It was his best guess that she became a member of the League.
"About that offer…" Shigaraki continued. "You seem to dislike the system of heroes that is in place currently."
Izuku's eyes narrowed. "Your point?"
"I was getting there, geez. Anyways, I am sure you know that vigilantism is an illegal trade."
"Not with me, no."
"Because you don't have a quirk, right?" Shigaraki arched a brow as he smirked. "I'd have to disagree."
Izuku glared at the man. He was not liking where this was going.
Shigaraki continued without a care. "Vigilantism is a way to fight crime, and in the years before quirks, vigilantism of all kinds was highly illegal. Those laws preventing vigilantism are still in place, it's just that no one cares enough anymore."
Izuku said nothing. Shigaraki was actually correct. He was on the dot, actually. There were laws stating that what he did was illegal, it was just his luck that no one looked into it."
Shigaraki grinned maniacally, seeing Izuku's gears do their magic. "So, you're technically a glorified villain. It wouldn't surprise me if you've killed before."
BANG
Izuku glared with a deep hatred for the man in front of him. He held a pistol with live ammo and shot at the area near Shigaraki's head.
Izuku was fuming. Being compared to a villain was a new low.
Through gritted teeth, Izuku barely managed to force any words out. "Your. Point."
Shigaraki smirked. "I'd like to express an invitation to the League of Villains. You'd prove resourceful, and you'd be with a family."
Izuku scoffed. "No. Absolutely not. There is no chance in the seven layers of hell that I would ever take you up on that offer."
He turned, grabbing onto Todoroki's collar. "Goodbye, and I hope I never see you again."
"Toga. Now."
Izuku hawled ass and sprinted with the student in his arms. Turning corners, he was lucky that the knives thrown missed him.
He ran a good thirty kilometers to UA, and dove through the gates, and let out a breath of relief when he couldn't hear Toga anymore.
Well, not until he heard a giggle from the other side.
At this point, Todoroki woke up, and was immediately silenced by the maniacal laughter. He looked at Izuku. Who had his phone out. He was texting Fuyumi.
"Hey Fuyumi, I won't be home for the rest of the night. Running from a villain."
"What? Ok then. Stay safe. I'll take Eri and Kota to their babysitter in the morning."
"Awesome, thank you."
Izuku put his phone on hibernation, and started to focus on the problem in front of him. Before he could act, he received another text.
"By the way, have you seen Shouto? No one's seen him."
Izuku paled. He looked towards Todoroki, showing him the message, and he nodded in understanding.
"Nope." He grimaced. That response was too fast.
"Izuku, I swear to god. If you have him and he's hurt I will do more damage than any villain you're up against right now."
Izuku flinched as he read it. He quickly sent that he would be safe, excluding the part when Todoroki was knocked out, and put his phone away.
He grabbed some capture pellets and his revolver and walked out of the gate, much to Todoroki's confusion. In a matter of seconds, he heard multiple gun shots, and rope being tied. Izuku walked to Todoroki with Toga encased in foam and bound by rope.
"We're done here. Let's go home."
Todoroki blinked, speechless.
After dropping the girl off at the police station, they arrived home, to receive a surprise.
Izuku was instantly on the ground, clutching his head in pain.
Fuyumi stood at the doorstep, holding a cast iron frying pan. She immediately looked at Shouto, and sent him a glare.
He got the message.
A few minutes later, both Shouto and Izuku were on the couch, an ice pack on Izuku's head, and a cup of hot tea in Shouto's lap.
Fuyumi stood in front of the duo, fuming. She was in the middle of a rant, glaring at the two of them.
"And what were you two thinking? Taking villains head on? I know you, Izuku, can take them on, but Shouto? He's only a student! Why did you think he could handle it?"
"I-"
A glare shut him up.
Fuyumi continued. "Now, Shouto, what the actual hell? Charging in like an actual hero? You're lucky I don't do anything to you. Knowing you, you probably stood away, right?"
"Shouto-"
Izuku shut up before she could glare at him.
Fuyumi glared at him anyway. She sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "I am going to give you one minute to explain exactly why you brought him on patrol tonight. After that one minute, if you don't explain, I will slam your head with the frying pan again."
"One minute?"
"Yes. You're wasting time."
"I- uh- you see, I brought Shouto with me, because, and you're going to laugh-''
"Thirty seconds."
"I want him to-"
"Twenty seconds."
"I want to train him as an apprentice of mine!"
All was silent. Izuku stared into Fuyumi's eyes, not regretting a word of what he said. Shouto sat in shock, his eyes wide. Fuyumi, stiffened, her glare transformed into surprise.
She tilted her head. "An- an apprentice? What does that mean?"
Izuku breathed a sigh of relief. "I think he's more than capable to work with me on my patrols. He has shown empathy with those abused, and although he doesn't show it, I remembered his look of hatred towards any and all criminals I take in."
"And that includes…"
"Pedophiles, rapists, abductors, and traffickers."
Fuyumi shot her head to Shouto. "You helped deal with traffickers?"
Shouto nodded. "Yes. During the internship."
Fuyumi glared at Izuku. "I thought the nurse told you after the incident that you weren't to go on patrol."
"I was fine!"
She looked back to Shouto. "Do you want to pursue this path? Knowing this idiot, you would see similar dangers."
Shouto paused, looking at Izuku. "If he's offering this opportunity, I would like to take it."
Fuyumi walked up to Izuku and smack him on the back of his head. "As his big sister, you have my permission to train him, but he better not be kidnapped or murdered."
Izuku groaned at the welts forming on the back of his head. "Trust me, he will train in a similar fashion to Kirishima. He'll be fine, and I trust that he'll be an amazing hero."
Fuyumi's eyes widened in surprise. "You mean?"
"Yup. After a month of training, he'll be an official member of the police departments and receive an official hero license."
Fuyumi smiled for the first time that night, and looked to Shouto. She rushed to him and hugged him. "I'm so happy for you!"
Shouto groaned. "Crushing my ribs here, Fuyumi."
She let go, and nodded to the duo. "I'm going to bed. You both have school so get going." She walked off.
Shouto and Izuku immediately looked at the clock. It read 6:00. The two groaned, walking to their rooms to get ready.
"How are you doing, Mr. Mineta?"
It was the second day of checking on students after the break, and even though the support and general departments didn't have internships, they still needed to be talked to.
Eri and Kota were in a corner close to Izuku, since the babysitter cancelled. It didn't bother him, since he needed to spend time with the kids anyways.
Mineta glared at the counselor. Ever since Izuku forced him out of the hero course, he received nothing but comments about being a stale pick, and how he couldn't be a hero if he tried.
It was infuriating, and Mineta wanted nothing more than to slam the counselor's head to the desk. He lightly smirked, reaching towards his head as to scratch it.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you."
"Huh?" Mineta attempted to loosen his grape ball off his head, but ended up with pain.
"Gah!"
Izuku smiled. "The chair had a needle lightly poking out on the arm chair, and you can't feel it. It holds a formula to cancel out a quirk for half an hour, while we have these sessions. Everyone suffers through it."
Mineta glared at the counselor.
Izuku cleared his throat. "Back to my question. How have you been?"
"Other than kicking me out of the heroes course for something unreasonable, just peachy." His voice was laced with hatred.
Izuku shook his head. There was no way Mineta didn't learn his lesson. "Mineta, why do you think it was unreasonable for us to kick you out of the heroes course?"
"Because you deprived me of what I wanted and needed most!"
"And that is?"
"Having the chance to score a girl! To be able to have a first kiss, and to have a girlfriend!"
Izuku sighed. He was doing that a lot in this room. "Mineta, those things aren't necessary for a hero."
"Lies!"
"No. Mineta, I'm going to explain exactly what you did. There are five girls in class 1-A. Each of them have reported to me that you have a history of attempted groping and of definite harassment. You've made comments about how they would feel, and you objectified each of them.
"Now, your private thoughts are your own, but voicing them and continuously making them uncomfortable is a different story. You needed to leave the hero course, because your actions have caused results that I, and you know of."
Mineta scoffed. "Let me guess, you've got it going on with Yaoyorozu."
Izuku narrowed his eyes. "What I do in my private life is my business, and mine only. You aren't to know a lick of what I do in my personal life."
He slammed his hand on the table when he caught Mineta looking at his kids.
"Dont you dare."
Mineta jumped. "What? I wasn't doing anything."
"You were staring at my kids."
"No!"
"..."
"Okay, I was wondering if they were here the whole time."
"I'll let it slide. Anyways, here's what I'm going to do." He scribbled his pen on a notepad, then ripped the paper out.
"This is the address of a therapist in Hosu. He deals with children that are sex addicts or have issues with harassment. He will provide the help you need."
Mineta deflated when Izuku said "he".
"Mineta, you will go to these sessions with him. If I find you haven't, I will see to it you are expelled. You're lucky that you were just transferred to general studies.
Mineta nodded and silently walked out.
Izuku nodded. Looking at the computer screen, he glanced to the door. "Ibarra Shiozaki?"
He had a long day of time with students, best not to slack off now.
