"Again!"

Flames shot out of a palm, the owner of the flames crying out in pain.

"One more time, Todoroki!"

The dual haired boy sunk to one knee, his whole body shaking. "I- I can't! It hurts!"

Izuku didn't back down. "Yes you can! I know it hurts! You can push through!"

"No, I can't!" Tears started forming in Todoroki's eyes. He couldn't help it. The image of his father formed in his mind every time he used the quirk.

"Todoroki, I know you can." Izuku smiled. That smile wavered when he saw a puddle of tears forming. "Is he on your mind again?"

The dual user only nodded.

Walking to the sidelines, Izuku nodded. "Alright, that's quirk training for today." Izuku sat on a bench, patting the seat next to him, to which Todoroki placed himself in.

"Todoroki." The boy glanced at Izuku. "You remember I told you it's not his quirk, right?"

Todoroki nodded.

"Okay. Do you want to talk about it?"

Todoroki shook his head.

Izuku smiled warmly. "Alright, if you ever want to talk, you know I'm here." The silent boy nodded, his mood a bit sullen.

Izuku nodded and stood up, patting his future apprentice on the shoulder. Stretching, he started his workout for the day.

*bzzzt**bzzzt**bzzzt*

Izuku groaned. "What is it?!" He paused when he looked at the screen in surprise. "Naomasa?" Quickly answering, he stopped completely at the anxious voice from the other screen.

"Come quickly. We found him."

Izuku stepped backwards in surprise, his mouth hanging slightly. He shook his head. "Are you sure? You actually found him?"

"Yup. His name is Chisaki Kai. His street name is Overhaul. He's located near the downtown district."

Izuku grinned. "Excellent. I'll be there soon."

He looked towards Todoroki. "Stay here and help Fuyumi watch Eri and Kota. If anyone breaks in, use your quirk. Call you friends if need be."

Todoroki was taken aback. "Use my quirk?" He raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?"

Izuku had his vigilante outfit on already. "No time to explain. Heed my words. Please be careful." He nodded once towards the boy and ran out the door, Kirishima already on speed dial.

Todoroki sighed. He packed his workout gear and walked out of the room, making sure the lights were out.

As he walked, his brows furrowed in thought. I wonder where Izuku ran off to. It sounded important. Does is have to do with his job?

… Yeah, it has to be. Although, If it did, why didn't he take me with him? I'm close to completing the training, so why not?

He grabbed His phone from his pocket, and dialed Shinso, Jirou, Momo, Tsuyu, and Yui, and Kirishima.

Momo was the first to pick up. "Todoroki? How can I help you?"

Jirou was the next to join the group call. "Yo! What's up dude?"

"I was instructed to help babysit Kota and Eri. I was wondering if you'd like to join."

"Babysitting?" Jirou inquired, her brow arched. "Aren't we a little old to do that?"

"I'm in. Same location as internships?"

Jirou's mouth dropped for a second. "Shinso?! You want to babysit a couple of kids?"

Momo chuckled. "Welcome to the chat, Shinso. You joined at the right time."

Shinso smirked. "Hey, the guy's cool, plus he has some food in the fridge he just leaves."

Momo sighed deeply. "I believe those are Izuku's."

"Hey, finder's keepers."

"Ribbit. What are we talking about?"

"Babysitting Midorya's kids."

Tsuyu placed a finger on her chin in thought. "I do have experience watching over children, based on watching over my siblings when they were tiny. I'll do it, ribbit."

Shinso's smirk grew slightly. "You also wanna impress Midoriya further."

Tsuyu blushed. "Maybe."

Momo laughed lightly. "I'll bring Yui. She texted me that she would come too. We just wouldn't be able to hear her on the call."

Todoroki nodded. "It's settled then. Come whenever. I'm headed there now." He watched as the others nodded, and ultimately left the group chat. All that remained was Tsuyu. "Can I help you?"

Tsuyu blushed, and twiddled her thumbs. "Could-could I ask you for some advice?"

"Sure. Go ahead."

"This is kind of difficult to talk about, but I-I really want to talk to Izuku about, well-"

"Your feelings towards him?"

Tsuyu's blush increased. "Yes! Ribbit."

Todoroki nodded. "Why don't you talk to someone like Yaoyorozu or Jirou about this?"

Tsuyu cowarded slightly. "Because they have feelings towards him too, ribbit. I don't know how they'll react if I talk to him."

"Okay, I think you should just tell him without sugarcoating your words."

Tsuyu's eyes widened slightly. "J-just tell him?! But that'll be weird."

Todoroki arched an eyebrow. "How?"

"It's..uh..I" she breathed out, defeated. "Okay, it wouldn't be, but still, what do I say, ribbit?"

"I don't know. I'm a guy."

"That's not helping!"

Todoroki rolled his eyes. "Just say, "hey I like you." If you're too vague, he won't get the message."

"Are you sure it'll work?"

"If it doesn't think of something on the fly."

"Ribbit!"

He chuckled. "Listen, we'll think of something. Shinso will help. I don't know why Kirishima didn't answer, but if he were joining he would too."

"No girls are helping?"

"Do you want the help or not?"

Tsuyu looked down. "Ribbit."

"Alright, get here when you can."

He ended the call, and walked through the apartment door. He groaned as his back popped. I need a shower.

He failed to notice the slightly broken latch of the patio door.

Knock knock

As he approached the stairs, he groaned once more. Walking to the front door, he peered through the peephole, and smiled. The group was at the door crowded together, waiting patiently.

"Hey, everyone, that was fast." His smile increased slightly as the group made their way inside, delivering their greetings.

While everyone made themselves comfortable in the living room, Todoroki made his way to the stairs. In the corner of his eye, he noticed Tsuyu walking to him.

"Are you ready to talk?" Todoroki asked quietly, already walking up the stairs. Tsuyu nodded, and Todoroki waved Shinso over. "Okay. Eri and Fuyumi should be playing in Eri's room. We could take the room across from them."

The three walked up, and promptly dropped everything at the entrance of a bedroom.

There was a pool of blood, and it was getting bigger. Todoroki stilled the two friends, and slowly walked into the room, and Tsuyu ran downstairs to grab the others.

Shinso walked with Todoroki, just in case.

Todoroki froze at the sight in front of him. Fuyumi laid on the floor back first, hopefully unconscious, blood seeping from a wound on her skull. Natsuo was unconscious, tied in a chair, with stab wounds decorating his torso and midriff.

The object catching his attention was the figure calmly, yet forcefully holding on to a frightened Eri and Kota, who were trembling with fear.

Todoroki was at a loss of what to do. Izuku had only trained him for hostage situations in public spaces, not family members. Seemingly calm, he barely registered the gasp of fear Yaoyorozu and Jirou let out.

The figure in front of him grinned, or frowned. Todoroki couldn't tell with the bird's beak on the man's face. The figure wore a feathered coat, a black shirt, covered with a brown vest. On his hands was a gold ring and leather bracelet.

"Well, well. If it isn't Todoroki Shouto. I was wondering when I was to meet you. You are the youngest of the number two hero, after all." Todoroki shivered at the tone this man crooned in.

Todoroki raised a foot by a mere inch off the ground…

The man cackled, much to the group's surprise. "Naughty Naughty. Now, I'm a fan of torturing people, but even I don't find enjoyment in freezing people to death. Especially children you need alive and safe."

...Todoroki lowered his foot, growling in defeat. He knew this man was correct. He looked at the man. "Why are you here?"

The figure smirked? They really had no idea. "That's for me to know and for you to wonder to your grave." He placed a finger on Kota's forehead. "Now, here is what we're going to do. I know each of your quirks, so I know how to beat each of you. I will walk out of these doors with the children, and you will let me through. If you don't…" He placed a hand on a chair, completely shattering it after a moment. "...I think you get the idea."

The group was speechless, and absolutely mortified. They really had no other options. Each of them looked to the others, and after a few seconds, nodded in defeat. Todoroki looked at the man, and breathed out. "Fi-"

"Since I like you kids, and since you're about to let me go without a fight, I'll make a deal with you."

The group raised their eyebrows in hope. Todoroki glowered at the man. "Go on."

The man's eyes glowed in intrigue, and perhaps amusement. "I will let you have one of these children," the group felt a shimmer of hope. "If you give me the frog girl."

And just like that, all hope shattered.

Momo immediately rushed in front of Tsuyu, protecting her. "Why?!" She all but yelled.

The man chuckled. "Simply because I've never had a mutant type that looked so… Normal."

The group narrowed their eyes at the man, edging closer to Tsuyu.

"No deal-"

"I'll do it, ribbit."

Todoroki whipped his head to the girl, brows raised. "But Tsuyu, you can't go! We can think this through-"

"Clocks ticking, kids."

"-and if you go with him, you'll die!"

Tsuyu grabbed his arm. "And let those kids die? Todoroki, I'll be fine. If one of the children can be saved right now, I'll gladly take that chance."

Todoroki looked at the floor.

"Todoroki," he looked to her. "I'll keep the other child company. Just...get Izuku and come save us. We'll hold on as best we can."

Jirou cried through the silence. "Tsuyu,"

Tsuyu turned towards her. "We'll be okay. She smiled at the group. "Just do your best, ribbit."

She glared at the masked man. "I accept your terms. I just have one condition."

The man nodded. "And what is that?"

"Whichever child you don't let free, don't harm them."

The man laughed. "Fine, fine."

"Then let one of them go."

The masked man laughed, pushing Kota to the group as Tsuyu walked to the man. "Here you go. Now, let's."

The three of them exited the room, with Tsuyu sparing them one glance, a small smile on her face.

Soon, they heard the patio door slam shut, and that was the noise that broke the dams the small group held up.

The girls cried, screams of fear and regret leaving their throats. They cried for the loss of their group member, all emotion felt during the ordeal finally coming out of them.

The boys were different. Shinso stared blankly at a wall, tears streaming down his face.

I could have saved all three. I have the power to control anyone, why didn't I use it?! You moron! You just killed two people important to Midoriya! I'm useless!

Todoroki immediately tended to Fuyumi, tears flowing out of his eyes as he checked her for a pulse. Thankfully, there was one, it was faint, but there.

He whipped his head to the others. "Someone! Call and ambulance! Fuyumi needs to go to the hospital!". He turned to Jirou. "Check on Natsuo. Now." Yui called the hospital for the ambulance, and Jirou did as told.

"Todoroki, Natuso has a pulse!"

Todoroki nodded. "Good." He turned to Momo. "Please create two stretchers to prop them on." He turned to Shinso. "See if you can find a first aid kit. We need to tend to all three's wounds." He hugged Kota, providing warmth, as the boy sat with a blank expression on his face. Rubbing Kota's arms up and down, he constantly spoke quietly "you're okay." The boy didn't respond.

Todoroki stared at the doorway, the ordeal still fresh. He was right, I couldn't have used my quirk. Right? Izuku told me to, but I couldn't. He punched the floor in despair. I can't control my quirk that well yet! But I could have saved them!

"Stretchers are complete."

"Todoroki. The ambulance is on it's way."

"Todoroki! I found some kits!"

Straying away from his thoughts, he looked to the group. They were a mess right now, they needed a leader.

Even though he didn't feel like a leader, it was something he knew he had to be. They needed him.

He nodded. He was training to be a leader, so that was that. "Good. Shinso, help me lift them. Momo, prepare to tend to their wounds. Jirou, help her. Yui, stay on the line. We have to keep track of the ambulance."

The group didn't miss a beat. "Right!"

Izuku finished speaking to Naomasa, who was explaining what they knew about Chisaki, or as they liked to calm him, Overhaul.

Basically, he was a terrorist who created quirk erasing bullets much like his own, except that Izuku's negated the quirk temporarily. It could be fifteen minutes, or it could be hours. The important part is that it was temporary. Chisaki's was permanent.

Chisaki also sold an illegal drug called Trigger, which did the opposite of the bullets. The drug he sold enhanced the effect of a quirk by a lot.

On top of that, his quirk was just as deadly. He could take matter and literally reconstruct it, and then destruct it.

Basically he was an over glorified drug Lord who actually put his money where his mouth was.

He smiled warmly towards Naomasa. "Thank you for the information. Now, do we know exactly where he is located?"

Naomasa nodded. "Yes, he's near the downtown district in a seemingly empty warehouse." He pulled up an image on his map. "We're at least 300 kilometers away."

Izuku smirked. "Let's get this bitch!"

Bzzt.Bzzt.Bzzt.

Izuku's eye twitched in annoyance. "Who can it-" he answered. "Hello, Todor- calm down. I can't understand you when you're crying." Naomasa laughed.

Izuku's eyes widened. "What?" Naomasa stopped laughing.

"No fucking- Are you serious? No, we're coming to you. Musufatu general. Got it. All of you, stay put. Don't leave Kota. Alright, I'll see you in ten." He ended the call.

"Everything alright?" Naomasa inquired.

"Start the car."

"Izuku?"

Izuku glared at the detective, fists trembling in rage. "I said start the fucking car!"

{Ten minutes later}

The two arrived at Musufatu general, and before Naomasa could find parking Izuku ran out of the car, entering the hospital.

He ran to the front desk, eyes filled with anger, fear, and confusion. "I need Todoroki's room!" The receptionist immediately pointed to a direction. "F-first door on the right." Nodding, he ran to said door.

His eyes were immediately greeted with two Todoroki's in hospital beds, IV's attached to their arms.

The group, barre Todoroki noticed Izuku walked in, and smiled. Momo stood up. "Izu-"

"Where's Kota?"

She frowned, slightly hurt. But she understood. "He's with Todoroki in the pediatric ward. How-" before she could finish he ran out of the room. She looked towards Jirou, who only shook her head in disappointment.

"What?" Momo questioned.

"His son was just attacked and you're concerned with your credibility with him? Momo, this is his son we're talking about. We only have crushes on him. We need to sit this out." Jirou put her focus back onto the unconscious Fuyumi.

Disgruntled and partially ashamed of herself, she sat down, her head in her hands.

The group couldn't help but wonder how Tsuyu and Eri were doing.

Izuku sobbed as he held Kota. When he received the official story from Todoroki, he wasn't going to lie. He panicked. He was scared, especially for Tsuyu and Eri.

He was absolutely glad Kota was safe, but he needed both his kids and student safe and sound.

"Izuku."

The vernadette turned, and nodded slightly at Tsukauchi, who walked in with Todoroki. "You're gonna believe this, QL, but we have an identity of the kidnapper."

Izuku raised a brow in surprise. "Who?"

Tsukauchi breathed deeply before answering. "Overhaul."

It was cold, unbelievably cold in the holding cell Tsuyu was currently in. Just before entering a car, Eri and Tsuyu were both blindfolded, and knocked out with Chloroform.

When she woke up, she immediately noticed the filthy cell she was in.

Her eyes widened. Eri wasn't here. "Eri?!" She shot up, and immediately collapsed. Her legs weren't working correctly. Looking at them, she noticed a large strip of gauze wrapped around her calf.

She poked it, and immediately recoiled in pain. She wouldn't do that again.

Instead of standing she darted her eyes left and right, scanning the area for a sign of life.

Spotting none, she sighed. Of course there wasn't. However, her wellbeing wasn't her main concern. Eri was.

"Ha ha. You won't find a way out for a lifetime, girly." A sore, raspy voice spoke out next to her.

She gasped and whipped her head to her left, but was confused when she saw a blank wall.

Is this place like a prison? If it is, then the voice should have come from a cell next to me.

The stranger voiced again. "Welcome to the underworld. That's what we experiments call this place, since you're new. Glad to meet you."

"Experiment?"

The stranger chuckled. "Yeah, experiment. Overhaul found ya interesting, so he wants to see what you're made of. Funny enough, that's his quirk."

"Ribbit?"

"Well, since we're cell mates, more or less, we might as well introduce ourselves. Haven't had company in a while."

"What do you mean?"

"The last guy was taken out of here, and hasn't returned since. I'm assuming he kicked the bucket."

"That-that's horrible!'

The stranger laughed. "T'name's Spinner. Mutant class quirk user. You?"

Tsuyu paused. Is it really okay to speak so calmly with a stranger?

"I-I'm Asui. Also mutant class quirk, ribbit."

"Very nice. Well, I'm gonna get to sleep. Nice meeting you."

"Y-yeah"

Spinner spoke once more. "If it was your friend you were calling for, forget about seeing her again. If Overhaul got her and she ain't here, just assume she's gone."

Tsuyu sank to the floor, her mind swirling with emotion.

"Was she a friend?"

Tsuyu didn't bother looking up. "S-she was a friend's daughter. I was to keep her safe."

Spinner clicked his tongue. "Sorry about that. She's probably gone."

Tsuyu shot forward. "Ribbit! Have you no heart?"

"Can't afford to have heart in this life, girly." This time, Spinner sounded remorseful as he spoke. "Down in the underworld, having a heart can get you killed."

It was now that he stopped speaking, which was fine for Tsuyu. She had a lot to think about.

Please Izuku. Please save me and Eri.
