"Jason, Thalia, this is Leo Valdez." He peep out from behind his mother's dress.
"The bastard child you're always talking about mother?" Thalia asks. Our mother huff in disgust.
The other mom laugh. "It's okay Hera, it's not the first we heard it," she says. I take my eyes up to her. She's pretty. "And you are not the first to say awful things about us. Is that right Leo?"
"Yeah," he says happily behind the fabrics. "I may be a bastard kid but at less my dad is a king and not a drunkard." Where I can see him, he seem to puff out his cheeks. His mother laugh.
"Esperanza," Hera disapprove.
"I'm sorry, his father taught him that." She laugh a bit more. "Leo, come on out. Don't you want to meet your new friends?"
He slowly moves out from behind his mother's skirt. His hair curly, skin brown, and eyes that seem like the ground is on fire. I squeeze my sister's hand to know that I'm still in this world. That I'm not in a dream. I feel so helpless.
A smile bloom on his face. "Wow. You can also do that?"
Something float in my vision. A snowflake. "Oops. I didn't mean to do that." It's snowing.
Thalia laugh, "Oh little brother." I glare at her.
Leo take a small step to me. "I can also do that." A grin spread on his lips. He flip his hands between us and they boom into flames. My eyes widen in wonder. I never feel so much excitement in me. "See?"
Both my hands clasp onto his. The flames shimmer into puff of smokes. Leo laugh. It's like a tickle that goes up my whole body to my soul. I feel the warmth of his fire hit my palms. I meet it with my own frost. We both giggle at the tickle sensation.
I look up to my mom, her face in bewilderment. "How long is Leo staying with us?" Hera look at Esperanza. I turn to her. Leo look just like his mother on everything except for his eyes.
She have a warm smile on, "I believe we are here for at less three days."
Leo jump in excitement. "You hear that Thalia? We can play together for three days!"
I laugh. "I'm Jason." Thalia laugh as she sees the face on Leo's face.
He squeeze my hands as his face turn red. "Sorry. I didn't mean-"
"It's okay," I say, "we do look kinda alike. You know, if I have black hair."
"Or I have blonde hair," Thalia cuts in. She came up to us while pulling down her dress. "Hey Leo, where's your sister Nyssa?" Our mom huff in annoyance. We ignore her.
"I don't know," Leo reply. "She was with daddy and Charles the last time I saw her." Thalia runs.
"Bye!" Our mother groan.
"She have always favour those two." She look at Esperanza. "Is it okay for me to leave Jason with you?"
"Of course, I'll make sure they don't freeze or burn anything," Esperanza bow her head. Hera goes after my twin sister. Then Esperanza look at us and gives a sweet motherly smile. "Are you two going to be good boys in the garden?" We nod. "Good, let us go then."
Leo pull me with one hot hand. I have never feel so much warmth through my body. It feels...
~Day Seven~
"...," Jason blink awake.
Jason stare up at the ceiling of lost. Eleven years ago of when the older prince first meet Leo. Jason fell in love. He doesn't know how Leo felt when they first meet. Maybe only saw Jason as a friend who share a gift like a curse.
Jason roll on his side, now staring at the frost that covers the bed curtain. He grab them and tear them off the rods. Jason never like curtains around his bed. He wish the snowballs would stop putting them up.
Jason stare at his glove hands. "I miss his warmth." He wouldn't actually say that to anyone besides his hands and maybe Leo; if he remembers. That might never happen.
A loud bang roar from below Jason. Leo must be awake. He have stayed the same alright.
Jason gets up. He see the rest of the bed curtains. They are torn down.
~Good Morning My Prince~
Leo doesn't know what just happen. He was looking at paintings when all of a sudden a knight's armor fell. Leo look over it. Is there any rust? But there's no cracks. Did someone push it? Like who? A servant? There's none. At all.
Leo is the only one in the hallway of paintings.
Something rush right behind him. Leo sharply turn to see one of the benches flip over and a flash of white. He's not alone.
"Hi," Leo call, "I'm Leo, whats your name?" He see something white peek out behind a bench twenty feet away. Leo walk up to the fallen bench and pick it back up. "It's okay little fella, I'm not going to hurt you." Cushions on the bench.
Leo takes a few step before it runs. Leo run after it. The thing is fast. He can see glimpse of it. It looks like a small snowman. It trip on its own little feet. Leo slide to a stop.
He bent down next to it. "Hey little guy." It look up. "Sweet gods, you're cute. Let me help." Leo hold out a hand. The little snowman jump away.
"It doesn't like being touch." Leo look up to Jason. Jason takes off his gloves and give them to Leo. "Wear them."
Leo slowly takes them from the older prince's hand. They're cold. "Are you sure?" Jason nod. The little snowman shuffle close to Jason. Leo can see Jason's hands and they seem fine. Why does Jason wear gloves? Leo slip the silver gloves on. They are really cold on the inside. Like freezing cold.
"Go ahead," the older prince says.
Leo hold out his glove hands to the little snowman. It tilt it's head and slowly shuffle to him. Leo smile. "Come on little guy. I won't hurt you." It wobble into Leo's glove hands. Leo laugh. "Oh my gods, you are so cute." Leo turn to the older prince who have a soft smile on his face... "How is it alive?"
The smile slides away. "Um." Jason rub his hands. "I think it's time you should know. It's been a week and you haven't went home yet. Follow me." Jason stands and walk off. Leo also stands but only to be stall by the little snowman jumping down. "Its okay, leave him. That one likes the painting hall."
They leave the little snowman there.
