Author's Note: And we're back! Took a little longer than I hoped, but it's here!

Hope you enjoy!

Cinder awoke to the sound of her scroll buzzing what felt like right next to her head... Which was not fun with a slight headache.

Who the hell was texting her at... Oh, it was already past nine AM. With her horrible insomnia, she half-expected it to be sometime in the middle of the night, or somewhere in the incredibly-early hours of the morning, like usual. Especially since she could feel that she was in a bed, rather than on the living area couch, sleeping against the older woman. They both slept much better like that. Of course, getting a notification that early would also mean that someone would actually be trying to contact her at that absurd time, which was very unlikely, unless it was Yang for another one of those late night chats. Though, that had not happened in a solid two months. So... what could it be?

Blinding reaching over, Cinder searched for her scroll, eventually locating it next to her pillow. No wonder the buzzing was so prominent. Upon rolling onto her back and cracking open her eye, she was met with a dark room, only slightly lit by the sunlight that was leaking through the closed curtains. Just like she preferred. Unfortunately, when she switched on the device, she was nearly blinded by the brightness of the screen. Son of a fucking... Through a narrowed gaze, Cinder managed to swipe up the settings menu in order to lower the brightness until she was able to properly see the screen. Thank the Maidens... She absolutely hated it when she forgot to do that before going to bed. Although, she had to forgive herself this time, given the absolutely wonderful evening she experienced yesterday... The very thought of it send a pleasantly warm, fuzzy feeling through her body... even if the memories from after the dinner itself were a tad... lacking from her mind at the moment. No matter, they would surely come back to her soon enough.

Swiping down the notifications screen, Cinder discovered that she had a message from Yang, which, while not unheard of, was a bit odd. Normally she received those later in the day, while the blonde was working and bored, or while she herself was working and her friend was wondering how things were going... or just wanting to bother her. Navigating to her messages, she found a rather... interesting text.

Yang: Hey Cindemon bun!

Cinder immediately furrowed her brow at the message before her. What did she just call me? So, she typed back a response.

Cinder: "Cindemon bun"?

Yang: It's like cinnamon bun, but with more... you!

Cinder: I will pay you to never call me that again.

Yang: Of course I can make that your nickname!

Even though her friend was not even there, Cinder could not help but roll her eye at the screen before her.

Cinder: You're lucky you're a good cook.

Yang: The best!

Cinder: So why is it that you're texting me at 9 in the morning? Especially when I will be seeing you at work in a few hours.

Yang: Was just wonderin how your night was. Heard you had a fun time with my mom ;)

Upon seeing the mention of the prior evening, as well as the realization that Raven told her daughter about it, a huge, stupid, uncontrollable grin spread across Cinder's face. Not only did it confirm that the prior evening actually happened - as even now, she was kind of doubting it did - it told her that Raven enjoyed their date enough to tell someone else about it. The latter was large enough on its own, since the older woman never seemed like the type to gush about her dates, for lack of a better term. Just the thought of her friend talking about their evening together with her daughter made Cinder quietly giggle to herself, even roll onto her side and curl into a ball. Gods, she felt like a damn giddy child. Eventually calming down, at least enough to focus, she brought out her scroll again and typed out a response.

Cinder: Yes, we did have a pleasant evening. We went out to dinner.

Yang: Oh yeah? Must've been pretty enjoyable from how she talked about what happened later on ;)

Cinder's grin immediately faded as she read the message. Not because it was a bad thing that Raven had told the blonde about more than just the dinner, but because... the memories of what occurred after they had left the restaurant were beginning to come back... Oh my gods... I made such a fucking fool out of myself... Not only did her intoxicated ass shove her face into the older woman's ample, soft, warm cleavage... but she attempted to get them past making out, after only the first date! Putting her scroll aside, Cinder grabbed the pillow from beneath her, lifted it up, rolled onto her stomach, shoved her still-mask-clad face into the mattress, and firmly covered her head with the soft object, all in one quick motion, wanting to just scream. Gods, she was such an idiot!

Suddenly, a knock on the bedroom door drew her attention, causing her to her entire body to stiffen. Oh... Oh shit. Was that Raven- What was she talking about, of course it was Raven, who else would it be? Even still, what was she doing there so early?! Neither of them had a shift for a couple of hours, and it was not as if she had ever come to wake her up before. So... Gods, why did she have to be at her door now?!

"Uh, Cin?" Came Raven's voice from the other side of the door. "You awake in there? And... y'know, decent?"

Son a bitch. She wants to come in. "No." Cinder answered, her voice muffled by both the mattress and the pillow that currently covered her head.

"Awake or decent?" Raven wondered, sounding a tad confused.

"Yes." Cinder mumbled, the response once again muffled. She wanted to see her friend so badly, both because she just... wanted to see her face, and because of that little promise that was made of they could play in the morning, but... not in her current state. Still fully-clothed from the prior night, teeth un-brushed, and annoyed by a small headache.

There was a brief pause, likely due to Raven wondering what to do next. "I have pancakes." She informed, probably with a smirk spread across her gorgeous face.

Upon hearing the mere mention of food, Cinder realized that she was indeed hungry, and thirsty for a cup of coffee. Though... pancakes... something that she had not eaten in many years... Did Raven... make them herself? Oh my gods, did she make her breakfast? Immediately shooting up onto her knees from under the pillow, Cinder placed the soft object back in its place, and observed her current attire. A bit messy, but thankfully not too bad. "I'm decent." She managed, brushing down the wrinkles out of her blouse, and attempting to present herself in a semi-decent way.

Opening up the door, Raven slowly backed into the bedroom with a legged tray in her arms, before turning to face her friend, offering a slightly awkward smile. "Mornin, Cin. Was just uh... thinkin' about last night, and I figured you could use a pick-me-up. So I asked Yang to walk me through these 'cause I'd probably burn the kitchen down otherwise." She explained, approaching and sitting down on the edge of the bed, giving the younger woman a better view of the tray. There was a plate full of... admittedly misshapen pancakes, a cup of delicious-smelling syrup, a tiny bowl with some butter in it, and even a cup of steaming hot coffee. Then Raven let out a small chuckle. "She's over the moon about us though. Made me tell her all about our date while I cooked."

Cinder could not help but smirk. "Oh? I couldn't tell from the texts I received not long ago."

Raven let out a groan, hanging her head in annoyance. "Yeah, sorry about that. Yang can get a little... excited about this sorta stuff, 'specially 'cause I haven't been on a date in like, half a year, even longer if I'm only countin' good ones."

Cinder quirked her brow at that last part. "So am I to assume our date last night was good?" She wondered. Of course, not a single thing during the prior evening said otherwise, but it was always nice to hear a confirmation.

Raven merely tiredly smiled at the younger woman. "Best date I've been on in a long fuckin' time, Cin."

As a blush began to tint her cheeks, Cinder offered a smile in return. "The feeling is quite mutual, Rave."

"Good to hear." Raven commented. "Now sit your sweet ass down, and lemme give you your breakfast." She requested, to which Cinder quickly adjusted her position so that she was sitting back against the headboard of the bed, eagerly awaiting her meal. Raven then carefully lifted the tray and placed it over of her friend's thighs, presenting her with her homemade breakfast, before gesturing at the various items. "So, we've got my shitty pancakes, butter, syrup, coffee... anything else you want?"

Cinder's lips quickly spread into a sly smirk. "Yes. You."

Raven just chuckled at the request. "Okay, keep it in your pants, we've got work in a bit."

Cinder only rolled her eye. "Says the boss."

Raven nodded. "Yup, says the boss. Now eat your pancakes, and uh... I hope they're good... Haven't exactly made 'em in a while..."

As Cinder raised her hands to pick up the utensils that currently sat on either side of the plate, she stopped, and an idea popped into her head. Placing her hands back at her sides, another smirk spread across her face, and she opened her mouth. It caused Raven to furrow her brow for a moment, before seemingly realizing what she was up to.

"I'm not gonna feed you every meal, Cin."

Cinder merely continued to hold her mouth open, winking at the older woman for emphasis.

After another couple seconds, Raven let out a sigh. "Alright fine, but next time it's your turn." She grumbled, sliding closer to begin preparing the younger woman's meal. First, she used the knife to spread the butter around the pancakes. Next, she generously drizzled the syrup all over them, causing Cinder to lick her lips. Sure, they might be a tad misshapen, but they still smelled incredible. Finally, Raven cut them into pieces, stuck one with the fork, and held it out for her friend, who decided to accept it rather... slyly, extending out her tongue as she slowly took the chunk of pancake into her mouth. Oh wow, these are good.

As Cinder chewed her first bite, Raven looked a bit uncertain. "So uh, is it... okay? I didn't really get a chance to try 'em, 'cause I wanted to save them all for you..."

Swallowing, Cinder offered a smile. "They're delicious, Rave, even if they don't look perfect."

Raven only let out a sight of relief. "Thanks, Cin. It's good to know I can at least follow directions properly."

Cinder chuckled at the response. Under Yang's expert direction, even she was able to put together a half-decent meal. "I suppose you make good maid as well." She smirked, to which the older woman just rolled her eyes.

"Oh shut your trap and eat your pancakes." Raven grumbled, sticking another piece with the fork and holding it out for the younger woman, who gladly accepted it.

And so, the breakfast feeding continued in relative silence, with Raven switching between feeding Cinder bites of pancake, and sips of coffee. She wondered what exactly she was going to do for her own breakfast, but was assured that she had something while cooking. Overall, it felt... amazing to be in this situation with her friend... or... would it be girlfriend now? They had only gone out on one date, but given what the two were doing after that date certainly pushed them past friendship... So... what would they be now? She should probably ask Raven about it... but at the same time, she was enjoying being fed far too much. Well, no matter. Friends worked for now. They could deal with labels at a later date.

Soon enough, Cinder had cleared her plate and finished her coffee, thanks to the wonderful service from her friend. Normally, once the pair had finished breakfast, they moved straight onto getting ready for work, as it was not often that they woke up this far before their shifts, but since they were both there, sitting on a bed together... Picking up the legged tray, Cinder moved it aside, and levelled a sly smirk over at her friend. "Say, Rave... Do you recall the promise you made to me last night?"

We can play in the morning.

Raven furrowed her brow for a moment, eyes gazing around as she likely tried to remember. Then she stopped, before flashing her own small smirk at the younger woman. "Yeah? What about it?"

Cinder faux-innocently shrugged. "Well, I was just thinking... We have a little more extra time before work than usual..." She began, idly tracing circles on the mattress with her finger. "So perhaps you could... fulfil that promise..."

Raven immediately grinned at the request. "Gladly." She agreed, slowly climbing onto the bed, her grin growing hungry as she eyed her friend's body. Reaching forward, she then firmly grabbed Cinder's ankles, which confused her at first, before yanking her forward onto her back, eliciting a yelp as her head hit the pillow, and she crawled between her sweat-pants-clad legs until she was looming over her, hands on either side of her head, messy black hair hanging down. The younger woman merely swallowed at their new position, remembering that they had found themselves like this the prior night, but that was mostly by coincidence. This time... Raven had intentionally climbed on top of her, completely ready to... well, play.

And that was what they did.

Flashing one final grin at Cinder, Raven slowly lowered herself to shift onto her elbows, her body, ample breasts, and pelvis pressing against those of the younger woman, and her eyes closing as the pair met in a gentle kiss... at first. It began rather slowly, but it did not take long for the two to... get used to each other, so to speak. Cinder wrapped her arms around her friend's neck, and found herself instinctively hooking her legs around her back, which only caused their embrace to become more passionate, more... heated, coaxing out slight, muffled moans from both of them. Gods, even to have Raven on top of her like this... it felt fucking incredible. Feeling a tongue soon snake its way into her mouth, she gladly accepted it, noting the slight taste of peanut butter as their tongues danced between their mouths. Must have been her breakfast.

Wanting more, to go further, Cinder released her friend, and reached down between their bodies, feeling the older woman's sizable, covered breasts against her arms as she grabbed the hem of her tank top. She was almost too excited to pull at first. This was it. Cinder was finally going to lay eye upon the two things that she had been dreaming about for months, that she had been teased mercilessly over. The two large, soft mounds that were currently pressed up against her own modest chest while they kissed. Finally, taking a mental deep breath, she began to slowly pull the garment upwards, her fingers brushing along smooth, pale skin while she did.

Unfortunately, like usual, today was just not her day.

As Cinder felt her friend's tank top slide past her rib cage, Raven moved a hand from the mattress to caress her cheek, but in doing so, she nudged her mask with her thumb, enough for the younger woman to feel the entire thing shift on her face. Her eye immediately snapped open, legs loosening, breath hitching as she ceased her pulling, moving her hands to grab Raven's shoulders and push her up as hard as she could manage, earning a gasp at the surprise of their lips suddenly separating. They were then left there panting, with Cinder holding her friend up by the shoulders, heart thumping in her chest as she tried to calm down. It was surely just an accident, she didn't mean to, she would never do that...

Moving her hands back onto the mattress to hold herself up, Raven's expression quickly became one of concern, looking down at the woman under her. "Cin... are you okay? I didn't... hurt you did I?"

Hesitantly reaching up, Cinder laid a slightly shaking hand on her mask, unable to make eye contact with her friend. "N-No, I'm just... not ready for that... yet... I'm sorry..."

Raven only shook her head. "Don't be, it's okay." She promised, offering a tired smile. "You wanna just continue this later?"

Cinder felt rather guilty about stopping what they were doing so abruptly, especially considering she had been in the middle of slowly removing the older woman's tank top, which was... something that she had dreamed about for months... but... having her mask be nudged like that sort of shocked her out of the mood to fool around. SO, she awkwardly nodded. "If that's alright with you..."

Raven's smile grew a little brighter, and she lowered herself until their faces were mere inches apart. "Please, I've waited this long to pounce on ya, what's one more day?" She answered, lowering farther to plant a soft kiss upon the younger woman's lips, briefly caressing her other, uninjured cheek before pulling back. "Now c'mon, let's get ready for work. I'm sure the bar will need some cleanin' up before we open."

As she watched the older woman climb off of her, then the bed, Cinder felt the need to ask her something before she left. "Hey... Rave?"

Turning on a heel, Raven looked back at her friend. "Yeah?"

Cinder struggled to maintain eye contact as her heart rate began to increase. Gods, it's just a simple question. Get a hold of yourself, dumbass. Finally, she swallowed. "Are we... dating... now?" She nervously inquired. Raven was quiet for a brief time, seemingly thinking about the answer, which was not exactly reassuring, though after a few moments, she offered another tired smile.

"Been waitin' all morning for you to ask me that."

Business was slow today, even for the afternoon hours. Well, it was a weekday.

Cinder was on with Yang, which was always nice. There were never any dull moments when she shared shifts with her. Even when there was absolutely no more work to do - not even cleaning up anything - and they were merely standing behind the bar, waiting for more customers to show up, the blonde always had something amusing to say, a number of stupid jokes to tell, or an interesting topic to discuss. On this particular afternoon, while there were currently only a few customers hanging around, idly chatting and drinking, the pair found themselves talking about how it was for each of them to have a brand-new roommate.

"And the bathroom smells so good after she's outta the shower!" Yang gushed, to which Cinder merely gave her a skeptical look. "What? I've only ever had it smell like oranges."

Cinder only kept staring at her friend. "Uh-huh."

Yang pursed her lips in a sort of pout-like expression. "You're only sayin' that 'cause you two have more than one bathroom, so you're just smellin' your own shampoo."

Cinder quirked her brow at the assumption. "You think I don't smell your mothers shower?"

Yang was quiet for a moment. "Yes?" She hesitantly guessed. Cinder began chuckling in response, causing the blonde to narrow her eyes. "I feel like I'm missing something."

Cinder merely smiled, knowing full well that she had snuck into the apartment's master bathroom a couple times while Raven had gone out after a shower. It smelled so nice in there... "Oh Yang, you're adorable when oblivious."

Yang just pouted again. "Hey, I'm always adorable, thank you-" Then she cut herself off, seemingly realizing something. "Well, people like Weiss and Ruby area always adorable, but I'm adorable most of the time!" A bit of silence followed. "So are you gonna tell me or what?"

"Hmmm..." Cinder hummed, tapping her chin in mock thought, her lips spreading into a smirk as she did. "No, I don't think I will."

Yang was not looking happy. "Aw come on! You can't just bring that up and not tell me!"

Cinder only shrugged, her smirk remaining strong. "Can, will, and enjoying it all the while."

Yang's pout now levelled ones that she had seen Ruby Rose make. "You're cruel."

"And yet, you persist." Cinder reminded.

"'Cause I wanna know!" Yang near-whined. "Now tell me or I'll... I'll uh... tell my mom you offered to bang me!" She threatened, clearly hoping that it would get some sort of reaction from the older woman. Unfortunately for her, Cinder merely smiled.

"Go ahead, we keep no secrets from one another." Of course Raven was not exactly aware of that specific part of their girl's night, and learning about it might throw a small wrench in their situation, but... the blonde did not have to know that.

"Oh yeah? What if I went to tell her you just now offered that?" Yang inquired, attempting to grin.

Cinder shrugged again. "I suppose we'll find out together."

Yang let out a groan. "You're no fun."

"Then why invite me to a girls night?" Cinder wondered, only half-seriously.

"'Cause I thought some alcohol could loosen you up enough to have a good time with everyone." Yang brightly smiled, proud of her idea.

Cinder just rolled her eye. "What a wonderful plan."

"I mean hey, it worked, didn't it?" Yang mentioned. "Of course it would've worked much better if it wasn't just us, but still."

Cinder had to admit, it was a rather enjoyable night, even counting that the blonde did not accept her rather generous offer. Though, now that she thought about it again, if she had, it could have jeopardized her chances with Raven. So, perhaps it was for that best that the pair did not sleep together that night, since it would have been exponentially more difficult to date a woman after having fucked her daughter, who was already in a relationship at the time. "I believe that evening was exciting enough with only the two of us."

Yang let out a chuckle. "Yeah, but I'm pretty sure things would've stayed much more platonic with others there too."

Probably, unless of course we all became drunk enough to forget about boundaries. Cinder thought to herself. Though before she could manage to think of a more appropriate response to her friend's comment, the door to the back room partially opened up, and Raven peeked out from behind it, red eyes immediately locking on her.

"Hey, Cin?" Her boss called. "You mind comin' to my office for a sec?"

Thankfully, Cinder was no longer scared, or even nervous about getting called into the boss' office, especially now, considering that the pair were dating, but at the same time... being suddenly brought in there in the middle of the day was never a great sign. Still, she nodded. "Of course." Cinder agreed, before turning to the blonde with a slight smirk as she began to walk. "I'm sure you can handle things while I'm gone, at least for a few minutes."

Yang levelled a glare at the older woman. "Oh shut up, I've been here a hell of a lot longer than you."

Upon reaching the door, Cinder glanced back at her friend once more. "Somehow." She smirked, and winking for emphasis, leaving the blonde to merely pout as she herself followed their boss into her office. Closing the door behind her, Cinder turned to find Raven leaning against her desk, looking at the younger woman with an... uncertain expression. "Is... everything okay?" There was not something wrong... right?

Raven nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I just... wanted to ask you somethin'." Strangely avoiding eye contact, she reached up to awkwardly run her hand through her messy black mane. "I uh... I had an idea earlier... Probably dumb, but... maybe it might help..."

Cinder furrowed her brow at the answer. She has an idea? "What is it, Rave?"

Taking a deep breath, Raven finally looked her friend in the eye. "I want you to stand in front of the one-way mirror... and take off your mask... Y'know, to practice."

It took a moment for Cinder to realize what was just said. Rave... wants me to take off my mask... while I can see everyone out there? No... she could never manage to do that... even if she was alone in the office... Cinder glanced over at the one-way mirror, and unintentionally began walking up to it. Sure, it was not exactly crowded in the bar, but... Yang was still out there, and Raven was still in the room... She could not even do it when it was just the two of them in her bedroom... How Nora managed to get it off of her in a public café was beyond her.

Suddenly, as she gazed out of the one-way mirror, Cinder felt two arms snake around her midsection. Looking behind herself, she found Raven was now hugging her from behind, cheek resting against the side of her head, strong arms holding her close. The feeling caused a blush to begin to tint her cheeks, having wanted to be in this position for a long time. She missed the feeling... so very much...

"If it helps, I'll keep my eyes closed until you're okay with me seeing." Raven added, offering a tired smile before closing her eyes, only spotted through the partial reflection of the window. "'Course that doesn't mean it'd have to be today, or tomorrow, or even the next day. I'll be here when you're ready."

Cinder only blinked at the offer. She'll... actually keep them closed until I'm ready? Then... perhaps... she could take her mask off... If only... for a minute or two... After all, no one would be able to see her... So, hesitantly reaching up, Cinder took hold of her mask, and slowly removed it, exposing the... hideous burns that were underneath. Why would anyone ever want to see them? Her appearance was so much more... tolerable with everything hidden behind her attire.

Then Raven leaning down, beginning to blindly plant kisses along the younger woman's neck, causing her to shiver. "You're more beautiful to me than all of them." She praised, kissing her cheek again, just under where her burns started this time.

Glancing back, Cinder could see that her friend's eyes were indeed still closed. Only because you haven't seen what makes me ugly. So she turned back to face forward, staring out into the main area of the bar, where she laid her eye upon a certain, extremely attractive blonde. "Bullshit, Yang's out there."

Raven let out a small chuckle. "I'm not a narcissist. She got her father's ass though... damn."

Placing her hands over top of the older woman's, Cinder rested her head against her. "I like your ass."

Raven only grinned, seen through her reflection. "Of course you do, it's amazing."

Cinder could not help but chuckle a bit herself. "You're damn right it is." She agreed. "Yang's is more... compact than yours, too thin for my tastes."

Raven actually laughed at the response. "You're callin' Yang's ass thin? You must be thinking of Weiss."

Cinder quickly joined her in laughter. Well, that was not inaccurate. The blonde's rear might be thinner than Raven's, but Weiss'? That thing was like a twig compared to either of them. Glancing up at the older woman, who's eyes were still closed, Cinder smiled. To be just joking around after bringing up a serious, not-exactly-pleasant topic... This was exactly what she needed. So... perhaps... she could let Raven see her whole face... if only briefly. Though, she should probably do it quickly, before she lost the courage to do so.

Turning in her friend's arms, Cinder reached up to grasp her face with slightly shaking hands, and swallowed. "Y-You... can open your eyes..."

And so Raven did, red eyes finally opening and gazing at the burn scars that... ruined the entire left side of the younger woman's face. But... upon seeing them, she merely smiled, reaching up to gently caress her injured cheek. "Cin, there's nothing I can think of that could ever take away from how fuckin' gorgeous you are."

Cinder's lip quivered at the praise. She saw under the mask... and she still thinks I'm gorgeous? That was... making tears begin to pool in her eyes. She waited for so long to finally be in this very position... Even Raven appeared to be getting a bit emotional, smile softening, other arm pulling her in... For months, the pair had been trying to hard to remain casual with one another, and now... they were in each other's arms... It was honestly overwhelming. Cinder could not take it anymore. Tightening her grasp on Raven's face, she pulled her into a passionate kiss, which was quickly reciprocated, as the older woman's hand moved from her cheek to join the other around her midsection, holding her close.

Soon enough, their embrace became more... heated. Tongues danced, hands wandered, lips explored, and the slight sound of quiet moans could be heard escaping their lips. It was not long until Raven apparently had enough of their current position, and... well, decided to... do something about it. Moving her hands down the younger woman's body, sliding over her modest rear, she took firm hold of her thighs, and with one solid motion, lifted her into the air, eliciting a lips-muffled yelp as Cinder instinctively wrapped her legs around her back, and her arms around her neck. Holy shit. Raven was holding her up... with seemingly no issue whatsoever, like she weighed nothing at all... She had never experienced anything like this... being the smaller person in the relationship... and honestly, she was absolutely loving it.

Then, eliciting another muffled yelp, Cinder was carried across the office as their lips eagerly kneaded against each other, and eventually firmly plopped down onto the desk, bringing out a gasp at the sudden impact. Unfortunately, that shock snapped her back to reality, causing her to realize just where they were: at work. Immediately breaking the kiss, Cinder could think of nothing else to do but bury her face in Raven's ample chest, breathing hard as she pulled herself close... and slightly shook, still unable to really handle what they were just doing.

Through her own heavy breathing, Raven let out a chuckle. "You tryin' to get me outta my shirt during work?" She wondered, but... she received no answer. Noticing her friend's shaking, her smile faded, and she merely pulled her closer, planting a kiss on the top of her head. "Sorry, I know this is a lot. You wanna just... cool things down for today?" To which she felt a nod against her clothed breasts in response. "Sounds good to me." Raven agreed, smiling as she kissed the younger woman's head again, reaching up to gently stroke her hair.

About a minute later, the two finally separated, smiling at one another as Cinder was helped up off of the desk before donning her mask again. While she planned to head into the break room to get a drink of water - she really needed it - it seemed that there was one more thing that the older woman wanted from her. As she turned around to exit the office, she caught the smallest glimpse of her friend leaning forward, before she received a firm slap on the rear, eliciting a high-pitched yelp, and even a slight jump. Immediately whipping around, she found Raven levelling the sliest smirk at her.

"Like you said last night, I've been staring at it for far too long."

Raven had regretted not spending more time with Vernal, but the girl had needed time to recover, to be vulnerable in private. It was what she herself would have wanted. Though as Summer had proven time and time and time again in their youth, she also needed company sometimes, Even if she pretended that she did not. So there she was, barbeque chips and craft beer in hand, standing outside the familiar apartment front door again after a few days, with Cinder shifting uncomfortably by her side, mostly due to the fact that she had no idea how to treat the woman outside of work.

"Just treat her how you treat me." Raven recommended, just before lifting her arm to knock on the door. Though... she received no answer. So, turning around, she found Cinder with her brow quirked, and a skeptical look on her face. Oh, right. They were dating now, and they had made out several times... and touched each other's butts. "Alright, PG-thirteen me." Raven clarified, to which her friend only kept her brow raised. "Okay okay, platonic PG-thirteen me."

That seemed to be enough. "I think I can do that." Cinder agreed with a slight smile. "After all, I was somehow able to manage not throwing myself at you until a couple days ago."

Raven just rolled her eyes, turning back to provide a few firm knocks on the door. "Smartass." She commented, much to her friend's amusement. Not long after, the apartment door swung open, revealing Vernal, who was thankfully looking a little better than she was during their previous visit. Not only did she actually answer the door, but she was fully clothed, clad in a loose T-shirt and a pair of pyjama shorts. It was certainly better than the state she was in last time, which was a huge relief. Unfortunately, the moment she opened the door, the other two were hit with a wave of air that reeked of weed. Great...

Vernal actually managed a small, sad smile as she registered who was on her doorstep. "Oh, hey, Rae. Cinder. What brings you by?"

Raven lifted the family-sized bag of chips and the six-pack of beer, offering a tired smile of her own. "Left Yang in charge for a while, and figured you could use some company."

Observing the objects in her boss' hand for a few moments, Vernal shrugged. "Sure." She simply answered, turning to walk back into her apartment. Raven and Cinder shared an awkward look before following her inside, the latter closing the door behind them. Unfortunately, the smell of weed only became stronger as they entered the living area. Watching as Vernal plopped down on the couch, Raven took the chance to look around. It seemed that things were a bit cleaner than the last time they visited. The television was playing one of Vernal's favourite shows - some edgy crime drama - and nothing appeared to be broken, but... there were still a rather large number of alcohol bottles scattered around the main area of the apartment, some still full, many closer to empty. Maybe I shouldn't have brought beer.

"Make yourself at home, I guess." Vernal mumbled.

"I believe that I already did last time." Cinder commented as the pair took their seats beside the younger woman, with Raven directly next to her, passing the beer pack to her friend to put aside before opening the bag of chips. She figured it was best to avoid more alcohol for now.

"Yeah, thanks for that. The whole wallowing in self pity thing is kinda momentum based." Vernal admitted, reaching up to run a hand through her short hair, avoiding eye contact. "And... thanks for cleanin' up the place."

Cinder offered a small smile, still appearing a bit awkward around her coworker. "I'm glad I could help."

After being offered some chips from the older woman and taking a few, Vernal idly gazed forward at the TV for a few moments. "I uh... Sorry I tried to kiss you last time you came by... 'Specially after you went through the trouble of gettin' me off my ass and into the shower..."

Yeah, that was real awkward. Though, Raven just shook her head. "Don't worry about it." She assured, taking a couple chips for herself and popping them in her mouth. "Guess it's easier to show than tell."

Vernal just snorted. "Somethin' like that." She agreed, before the room fell to silence, with the only sounds to be heard was the television and occasional crunching of chips. Raven wanted to say something, but... she was not really sure what. Gods, she wished that she could at the very least be decent at this stuff, rather than... well, terrible. After all, she had dealt with all the teenage Yang stuff almost ten years ago. Now, she could barely handle helping an employee through a breakup. Guess I just got too used to things being good.

Then Vernal let out a heavy sigh. "I... I really tried with her, Rae... but... it wasn't enough..." She murmured, gaze falling to the floor, her expression... one of shame. "Always figured she'd move on when she was ready... It'd hurt for a while, but it wasn't fair for me to tie her down when even I could tell she could do better... Like everything good in my fucking life, she'd move on for good reason... " Raven and Cinder shared a look, but decided to stay quiet, knowing it was good for Vernal to be talking about this. The fact that she was starting herself was a good sign. "Thought she'd crash on my couch for a while until she found her own thing to do... 'cept the couch was my bed, and her own thing... was fallin' for me..." Then her lip quivered. "And... the longer she stayed... the more I fell for her too... like a fucking idiot..." She clenched her fists. "What should've been a normal talk ended up being this... stupid fucking painful break... and I just... dunno what the fuck to do..."

Passing the bag of chips to Cinder to put aside, Raven somewhat awkwardly put an arm around the younger woman's shoulders, admittedly feeling a bit weird about touching her after their last visit. Though she did her best to ignore what happened, knowing that Vernal was not herself because of the breakup. Honestly, even now, after all the years of knowing her, as well as the previous visit, it was still hard to believe that this was hitting her so hard. Sure, she and Weiss had been together for over a year, and it was clear the two cared about each other, but they were always so... casual... which, now that she thought about it, might not have been a good thing. Raven always expected them to simply go their separate ways if they ever broke up, not... well, this disaster. Communication had never been one of Vernal's strengths, but... wait a minute.

"Y'know, I think you should actually go talk to her." Raven recommended, causing the younger woman to look up her in surprise. "Look, I think you know the relationship wasn't great for either of you. I mean, I can't think of anyone who had a good thing that started from a one-night stand, but you shouldn't just... avoid your problems like this. It's only makin' things worse."

After a couple moments of silence, Vernal's gaze fell once more. "I... dunno if I can..."

Raven let out a sigh. "It's not gonna be easy, I know that, but you can't leave it any longer." She stressed. "I can't tell you how fucking humiliating it was havin' to ask Sum for help after I left her and Tai, but I got through it... somehow, so you can get through this too. If you wait 'til you're ready, you'll probably never get around to it. So you've just gotta force yourself to get off your ass and talk to her, 'cause sitting around, doin' nothing but drinking and smoking isn't helping."

Another stretch of silence, with Vernal merely staring down at the floor, hopefully thinking about what the older woman was saying. Her head turned a few times, seemingly to respond in some way, but no such response came, only a look of defeat. Eventually, Vernal heavily sighed again, lowering her head farther, and reaching up to run both hands through her hair, tightly gripping the short mane.

"Okay..."

Yang was having a pretty good day today.

The bar was not too busy, even later in the afternoon, having another full shift with Cinder was enjoyable as always, though... not quite as... interesting as their previous shift together the prior day. The first few hours were normal for the most part, at least until Raven called the older woman into her office. That was where things took a strange turn. After being gone for over twenty minutes, Cinder returned to her post, looking a little more... flustered than she was before leaving. While it took a few moments for the realization of what might have happened to hit Yang, once it did, it really hit her, and of course, the teasing began. It was honestly ridiculously cute to see her friend so off balance. Though at the same time, she had to try not to think about how her mom was the one who... well, threw her off balance, so to speak.

After her shift was done, Yang decided to stop by a local bakery to pick up a few treats for her and Weiss. Not just because she herself wanted donuts, but because her friend and sort-of-roommate was probably having another rough day at her own work, mostly likely due to the fact that it was practically summer, which meant more and more children would be wanting to go out for ice cream. Yang loved kids, but having that kind of job in the summer would be absolute hell, so she figured that Weiss would be happy to be treated to some freshly-made cannoli after a difficult shift. Of course, she was going out with Ruby and Pyrrha, so perhaps the blonde would steal one or two before she returned. After all, her mood was sure to improve while out with those two.

As Yang made her way down the hallway that led to her apartment, fishing the key from her jeans pocket with her free hand, she wondered what exactly she was going to do without her friend around for a while. Maybe she could invite Coco over to play some games together... It had been a little while, and the pair were starting to talk normally again through text... and in all honesty, she missed being able to just goof around with someone like that... Well, Yang could always see what the brunette thought about it when she got home. It would be nice to begin hanging out again.

Inserting her key into the wooden door, Yang unlocked it and entered her apartment, two boxes of bakery goods in her free hand. Gods they smelled so good. Then flicking on the living area lights, she went to head into the kitchen to put Weiss' treats aside, but upon turning around, her eyes widened in shock as she froze dead in her tracks, nearly dropping the boxes in her hand. What the fuck... Why... the fuck... How the fuck... Sitting at her kitchen table, simply drinking from a canned beverage, was... Vernal... who, upon seeing the blonde's near-horrified expression, barely even moved.

"Oh, hey... 'bout time you got home."

Yang could barely think, with a mixture of feelings running through her mind, jumbling and fighting for dominance, before... anger reigned supreme. "Vernal, what... What the fuck are you doing in my apartment?!"

After a few moments, Vernal just shrugged. "Forced myself to come, but no one answered the door, so I panicked and picked the lock."

Glancing back at her apartment's front door, a realization hit Yang. When she arrived, the door was still locked, and there was no evidence of any kind of break in... So that meant, her coworker had merely been sitting there, waiting, drinking... Wait a minute. She recognized that craft label... Yang quirked a brow. "Is that my beer?"

Vernal looked down at the can that she currently held in her hand. "I already broke in, figured I'd steal something to make it even."

Yang narrowed her eyes at the women at her kitchen table. First time I've heard from her in over a week, and she breaks into my apartment and steals my beer... Great start. Making her way into the kitchen to place the bakery boxes onto the counter, she turned to her coworker, crossing her arms. "Now what are you doing here? 'Cause I doubt you broke in just for a friendly chat."

Vernal's gaze went elsewhere at the question, seemingly unable to make eye contact. "Wanted to... talk to Weiss... but you were the only one that came."

Probably to try to get her back. "Well tough luck, she's out with Rubes and Pyr." Yang sternly informed.

There was a pause. "How... is she?" Vernal hesitantly asked. "She doin' okay?"

Yang only narrowed her eyes again. "She's fine, nice of you to care, over a week later."

Vernal's gaze fell at the answer. "Sorry... couldn't even leave my apartment 'til today... and that's only 'cause of Rae's help..."

So that's where she's been all week. Sitting on her fucking ass. "What, break your legs? Break your lock? Practicing for mine I guess?"

"No, no..." Vernal quickly denied, shaking her head. "I just... wasn't ready yet..."

That had to be a joke. "Oh, you weren't ready?"

Actually looking up to make eye contact, Vernal glared at the blonde. "No, I wasn't. That a problem?"

Yang was just about ready to kick this damn woman out of her apartment. "Problem? No, no, not a problem at all. Don't worry, everything was fine and dandy over here while you weren't ready yet."

Vernal just narrowed her eyes. "Don't patronize me, Xiao Long. I just wanted to know how my... " Then she cut herself off, seemingly realizing what she was about to say. "How... Weiss was doing since she got here..."

"She's doing better." Yang simply answered.

Vernal was quiet for several moments, gazing off to the side, into the living area. "Yeah... Sounds like her..." She mumbled, staring over at the couch, which currently had Weiss' two bags sitting behind it, the second which she had to buy after purchasing too many clothes to fit in just one. "So how is it?"

Yang furrowed her brow. "How's... what?" Having her as a roommate?

"The sex." Vernal clarified.

Yang was thankful she had not gotten herself a glass of water yet, because she definitely would have spit it out all over the kitchen floor upon hearing that. What the fu- She thinks we... "The fuck, Vernal?!" She immediately snapped, struggling to find a response to that accusation. "How little do you think of us that you believe we'd be fucking a week after you two broke up?!" Yang certainly thought better of her, better of what their relationship was... of their friendship.

Vernal only skeptically raised a brow. "So you're tellin' me you haven't wanted to fuck her since you met? 'Cause it sure looked like it sometimes."

Yang could not believe what she was hearing. She really thinks we would... "Don't objectify Weiss like that! She was your fucking girlfriend!" Yang scolded. "She's always been one of my best friends, and all I ever wanted was to find a relationship that was as happy and joyful as yours... but I guess it's just easier to blame everyone else for your problems, huh?"

Vernal clenched her fists, almost crushing the half-empty beer can in her hand, looking just about ready to punch the blonde straight in the face, but then... her shoulders slumped, and her expression fell from one of anger... to defeat. "Things were good, we were happy, I was makin' Weiss happy... until I wasn't, and suddenly she wanted to talk about the one fucking thing I wasn't comfortable with... and my dumb ass couldn't keep up."

Yang knew what that meant. It was the one thing that she herself had never had trouble talking about. So she let out a sigh, hoping that would calm her down a bit. "Look, Vernal, I know it's easier to just find other shit to blame it on, but sometimes we've gotta suck it up and admit that we're fuckin' terrible at life."

Vernal was quiet for some time, seemingly also realizing that the pair were admittedly quite a weird spot. Raven was sort of the closest thing that she had to a mother, which meant... Yang would be the closest thing she had to a sister... which was a strange thing to think about. Still, she accepted Vernal as part of their family, always treated her with respect, and never pried into her business - whether it was related to her relationship or not - and when she fucked up, Yang pushed Weiss to give her more of a chance. Then... when things unfortunately did not work out, she took her in until Vernal was ready to talk.

"I just... don't wanna lose her..." Vernal mumbled, rather pathetically, given her usual demeanor. Gods, she really looked like she was stuck in the most uncomfortable place in her life.

"So come back when she's here." Yang recommended, trying to offer a smile to make it clear that she was being sincere. "It's not gonna be easy, but I promise it'll be worth it, even... even if it's just closure that things are really done. I mean, I had to go through talkin' to my ex the other day, which was... well, it was pretty weird to say the least, but I got through it." Yang encouraged. "And lemme tell you, that wasn't exactly a painless breakup. Everyone who knows says I'm better off but things aren't really that simple... She needs help, and it's not in me to just ignore a bad situation and leave her alone to suffer, 'specially when I can lend a hand. I'm just not spiteful like that, I'm..." She went to continue, but soon realized that Vernal was merely sitting there, looking at her, confused. "Sorry, got a little rambly there for a minute. It's a weird situation. Anyway, point is, if I can talk to an ex that practically tossed me aside, you can talk to Weiss."

Vernal was quiet for another brief time, simply staring at the beer can in her hand. Then, without saying a single word, she raised from her seat, and approached the blonde, barely even looking at her as she raised her arms, appearing like she was going to hug her, but... stopping, merely laying a hand on her shoulder, and patting gently. It was... extremely awkward for Yang, who had never experienced anything remotely like this with Vernal, given how out of all the years the two had known each other, she could not think of a single time where either of them had laid a finger on the other.

Finally putting her arm down, Vernal turned to head towards the front door, before stopping. "I can see why she likes you." She commented, sadly chuckling a bit. "You've got that whole sorority sister thing goin' on, I get it." Stepping forward, she opened the door, and left the apartment, softly closing it behind her, which left Yang to just... stand there, confused as all hell.

Wait, what?

Yang was beat.

After a fairly busy shift, filled with a number of rowdy, flirtatious customers, many of them uncertain of what they even wanted to drink when they first arrived... at a bar, yet completely certain that they were interested in her and Cinder. Thankfully it was not anything actually harmful. No attempts at touching, nor truly offensive comments or questions, just the standard, if somewhat persistent at times, flirting with their waitresses. Of course it was nothing that Yang could not handle. She had been working at the bar for years, so she had experienced her fair share of interested customers, but even she had her limits, especially after several cases of taking the heat off of Cinder when she noticed her getting uncomfortable. Though her friend was certainly handling things much better than when she first began working there, which was nice to see.

By the time Yang had arrived back home, she was ready to flop down on her bed and fall asleep, but before she could do that, she and Weiss needed to have something for dinner. Neither of them felt like cooking anything, both having equally long days at work, so after some discussion, they decided that they would order pizza. The perfect lazy night food. A large Spicy BBQ Chicken for herself, and a small Garden Veggie for Weiss. It was safe to say that the pair did not share with one another.

After their dinner had been consumed, it was time for bed. They had each taken turns changing into their pyjamas, then brushing their teeth, removing their makeup and all that, and now were comfortably sitting on the living area couch, watching some cartoons on TV. Something that her friend would have never been able to do with her... previous roommate. Though, now that she was thinking about that... Weiss was still not aware of Vernal's... little visit yesterday, and as much as she probably should know about it, Yang did not want to tell her. After all, she had been so much... happier recently, and the blonde was afraid that if she did tell her, she would have even more to worry about. Weiss did not deserve that.

As another episode was just about to finish, and the pair was thinking of turning in for the night, there was a quiet knock at their door. Well, technically it was Yang's door, but they were kind of roommates now, even if Weiss did not pay any rent, but she did do practically all the cleaning for them, so, their door worked just fine.

Sharing a confused look, both of them furrowing her brows, the two looked over at the door, wondering who exactly was dropping by at this time of night... past eleven PM. Holding up a hand, Yang quietly hopped up off the couch and slowly approached the door. Leaning up to carefully peer through the peephole - which she was thankful existed - she caught a glimpse of someone she never expected to just show up at her apartment like this, especially so late. She could not believe her eye. It was... Neo, timidly standing out in the hallway, looking exhausted, without a purse or bag, holding her casted wrist, and seemingly unable to even look up from the floor.

Yang went to immediately open the door, but before she could, she froze, as a realization hit her. She forgot to tell Weiss. Shit... Well... little too late now. So, she unlocked and gently opened the door, lest she scare the woman at all. A few moments later, pink and brown eyes nervously looked up, to which Yang attempted to offer a smile. "Hey... glad you decided to come by. You wanna... come in?" She inquired, to which Neo merely nodded a bit, before awkwardly walking past the blonde to plop down on the edge of the couch, not even able to look at Weiss, who appeared very confused by the sudden appearance.

"Oh, hello... Neo... I'm... I'm Weiss..."

Neo barely reacted, merely staring elsewhere.

Closing and locking the front door, Yang turned to face the two women on her couch. I should probably explain this. "Hey, Weiss? Can we talk in my room for a sec?"

Weiss just blinked, clearly not expecting the question. "Of course."

Watching her friend get up from the couch, Yang led her through the living area, then glancing back at the other woman, gently smiling. "We'll be right back." She informed, before the pair headed into her bedroom, where she softly closed the door, and awkwardly looked at Weiss. "So uh, I kinda told her to come by if she ever needed to... Hope that's okay... and... sorry I forgot to mention it..."

Weiss was quiet for a moment. "You... offered for her to stay here?"

Yang nodded. "Yeah... but if you're not comfortable with that, I can... I dunno, see if my mom will let her stay, or maybe put her up in a hotel..."

Weiss shook her head. "It's alright, Yang. I'm okay with her staying here." She assured with a smile. "After all, this is your apartment." Then that smile faded. "Although, if she's going to be occupying the couch... would you mind if I slept... in your room tonight?"

It took a moment for Yang to process that information. She... wants to sleep in my bed... with me... As hard as she tried, she was unable to stop her cheeks from warming as she looked over at her queen-sized bed. Well, it's definitely big enough for both of us... and it's not like it hasn't happened before... even if the last time wasn't exactly normal circumstances... "Uh, s-sure, I've got extra pillows, and... y'know, enough space, so... yeah... yeah, that'd be fine."

As she smiled back at her friend, the slightest hint of a blush tint Weiss' cheeks. "Thank you,, Yang. Now, why don't we return to our guest? See if she's hungry."

Yang nodded again, her lips spreading into a warm smile. "Sounds like a plan."

And with that, the pair exited the blonde's room and returned to the living area, where Neo was still timidly sitting on the couch, partially watching the cartoons that were currently playing. Sharing a look, the two slowly approached and sat down, Yang next to her, and Weiss on the other side. Yang figured it was time to ask her some questions. Nothing hard-hitting of course, she did not want to scare her away, just some basic things.

"Hey... Neo?"

The mute only flinched at the mention of her name.

"Can I ask you a few questions?" Yang softly inquired, to which Neo nodded, but did not look over. "Are you hurt? Well, any more than a couple days ago..." Her ex shook her head. "Do you... wanna take a shower? Y'know, in case you haven't recently..." Neo shook her head again. "Have you... eaten today?" There was a pause, before Neo shook her head, unable to look at the blonde. "Would you like some pizza? We've got leftovers from dinner... Or if you don't like the stuff we have, I can order you another... Or I can just cook you somethin', depending on what's in the fridge..."

Neo was quiet for several moments, actually turning to look at her ex, clear shock in her eyes at the offers, until her stomach growled, and she looked away. Then, with an almost-shaking hand, she reached into her pocket, hesitantly pulled out her scroll, unlocking the device and typing something into it. She then paused for a few seconds, before turning the device towards the other woman, Showing a single sentence in the notes app.

Leftovers are fine.

Yang could not help but smile, happy to see that she was at least getting a written answer, which was a step in the right direction. "Alright, you want meat or veggie? 'Cause we've got a few pieces from both."

Neo took a moment, then typed into her scroll again. Vegetable, please.

"Comin' right up." Yang agreed, getting up off of the couch and heading into the kitchen, where she opened up the fridge and retrieved the resealable plastic bag that held Weiss' leftover Garden Veggie pizza. She then removed a couple pieces, grabbed some tin foil out of a drawer, and set them in the toaster oven, before moving to the cabinets to get a glass to fill with water. Not long after, the appliance dinged, signaling that the food was ready. Yang carefully removed the sizzling pizza, transferred it onto a plate, and brought it and the glass of water into the living area. Though, upon sitting down next to Neo, she did not simply hand them to her, seeing as her broken wrist would impede her ability to even hold two things at once. Instead, Yang decided to hold the plate and glass out for her to take one at a time. Neo gave her a confused look at first, but quickly understood, fairly reluctantly accepting her help.

Soon enough, the mute had consumed her meal, and after Yang took her empty dish and glass back to the kitchen to put into the dishwasher, Weiss brought out the blanket and pillow that she had been using, handing them to their guest, who they could both tell was struggling to stay awake, eyes fighting to remain open. Once again, Neo did not accept them immediately, but eventually taking them, putting the pillow next to her and wrapping the blanket around herself. Yang figured that meant that she was planning to turn in for the night, but instead, she pulled out her scroll again, and began to type out a message, but partway through, her hands began to shake, and she froze up.

The blonde had a feeling she knew what was happening, so, she stepped forward, and knelt down in front of her ex, who had hunched over her phone as her hands shook, unable to type anything further. Reaching over, Yang gently placed her hand atop one of Neo's, causing her to stiffen, but eventually look up to meet her gaze. She then offered a warm smile.

"Want us to stay?" She asked, speaking as softly as she could. Neo merely stared at her for several moments, appearing like she wanted to answer, but knowing she was unable to, until finally nodding a bit, her expression... full of shame.

Shifting her gaze over to Weiss, she and Yang shared a look once more. Guess like we're stayin' up a little longer. Moving to sit back down on the couch again, she watched as Neo slowly adjusted her position until she was curled up, which was admittedly a tad awkward, given the size of the piece of furniture the trio was sitting on. So, by the time she was lying down, the pillow was up against Yang's thigh, and her feet were almost touching Weiss'. Thankfully, it did not take that long for her to pass out, since she had looked exhausted since arriving. Though, just before the other two retired to the blonde's room to get some rest of their own, Yang took one final look at the sleeping form of her ex-girlfriend, wondering how the hell she could have ended up in this... bizarre situation.

As the next morning came, Yang was the first one up, as usual, so, after visiting the bathroom, she began the preparation of breakfast. At first she was not sure what to make, but she quickly settled on scrambled eggs and toast. It was simple, but with their current guest, she did not want to risk making anything that would not be eaten. Of course, given the current circumstances, Neo was likely not going to be as picky as she was when they 'dated', but Yang wanted to be safe. She did not want her to leave hungry.

Once breakfast had been made and thankfully consumed by the two, while Weiss was still sleeping, and with the mute taking quite a bit longer to finish hers after hesitantly accepting it, Yang asked if she wanted to take a shower, to which... she received a pair of widened eyes. It took a moment for her to realize why, but the moment she did, what followed was a rambly explanation on how she did not mean together. Though once she understood, Neo merely shook her head, which did end up worrying Yang a bit as she herself went to take a quick shower. Hopefully her ex had not gone too long without one. It was bad enough that she heard her stomach growl several times since the prior night... Probably because she had not been eating enough...

Yang was hoping to get a chance to talk more when she got out of the shower... Maybe Neo would be ready to discuss what happened to her, or maybe not... Unfortunately, there was no answer to give, as by the time she was dried off, redressed and had returned to the main room of her apartment, the mute was nowhere to be found. The blonde looked around, though since there were not exactly many places to hide, especially with the bedroom still being occupied by a sleeping Weiss, it was soon clear that she vanished. The only thing that had been left behind was a neat stack of assorted money bills, which after counting several times, came out to be four hundred lien in total, more than would ever be held outside of a bank or cash register.

Yang really hoped that Neo was okay.
