A/N: What up? Uuumm... Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy! :3
The snow is falling harder. Harsh cold wind whip around them. Ice thorn out of the ground.
Jason have his hands up to keep the ice up. Inside of them is Calypso, screaming while wind slash from the inside. Blood seep through Jason's pants. She had got him on the hip. A simple slice of wind that Calypso threw out of desperate, right before the ice cage her. Anymore to his left, it could have cut Jason deeper.
A point breaks off, shattering on the ground. Jason see Calypso's brown almond eyes; glaring right in his soul. The air whirl around her eye. Jason can see the storm forming, yet, he can't move. He moves, the ice cage with be fragile and break by a simple burst of wind. He doesn't, Jason will get stab by some force of wind. He rather not take the latter. He still want to see Leo.
It's the eye of the storm.
Jason jump away as the wind cut right past his head. The ice shatter. Calypso jump forward, hoping to knock Jason back. She is blinded instead. Apollo stands between them. Bright as the sun. He pulls out his sword. Usually, Apollo use his bow and arrow in fighting, but with the wind being this strong and the snow growing denser to see, it's useless.
Calypso shudder as Apollo takes a step forward. "We can talk about this," Apollo yell over the roaring storm. "There's no need to get emotional." Jason flinch.
"I AM NOT EMOTIONAL!" Calypso shoot her hands up, snow lifting off the ground as if it is a wave.
Jason run in front of his brother. His hands up in the air, stopping the snow wave in mid-air. "Nice words to choose! You know how to talk to girls!"
"You know I know how to talk to them!"
Jason's heels dig into the snow. "Yeah? It didn't look like it!"
"It's all this snow and cold! I can barely think in this freezing summer! Can't you tone it down a bit?"
"NO! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO!" Jason doesn't. How does he handle something like emotions? Trauma that been shove down too long? It sometime spills out, making his magic go wild. How can you control something so unstable?
Jason clench his fists. With a scream, he spread his fists apart as if was tearing paper in a anger. The snow rip in the middle and flop heavily to the sides. Calypso falls back from the shaken ground. She is push in two feet of snow.
"I got this," Jason says. He left up his feet out of the snow to on top. There is no crunch. No sink.
Apollo take a step forward. His foot sinking. "What are you going to do? Freeze her?" Calypso struggle to get up. "That'll kill her. Atlas might not give two shits about his daughters, but he would not appreciate that one of his girls is killed! He'll wants your head!" The wind is getting too heavy and loud that they have to shout in order to hear each other.
"I'm not going to kill her!" Doesn't know what to do. "She might die from the frostbite though!" The snow is getting denser. If it weren't for her brown skin, Jason might have lost sight of her. "You should leave brother! It's getting di-!" Calypso push an arm out.
A slash of wind ripple through the snowfall. To Apollo. Jason grounded his legs, tighten his arms and fists, and raise them from ground to the sky in a swift motion. A small hill pump underneath Apollo's feet, sending him up to the left.
Apollo tumble out of sight.
Jason can't see his older brother anymore. Calypso slowly disappear behind the snowstorm. The roar of the freezing wind block any sound that could be heard.
Jason stands there, catching his breath. Taking in the freezing air doesn't hurt his insides. There aren't any goosebumps over his skin. Apollo might be suffering. The older brother have shiver a few times. For some reason Calypso is fine. Why is she fine in the cold? In such a thin dress meant for summer heat?
What type of Caster is she?
Jason flinch as Calypso fly through the snow past him with a sword in her hand. Their eyes lock with each other for a split second before disappearing. Jason take a step back. Now she is armed.
How?! Was she always armed?! Did Apollo drop his sword?
Is there a way to know where she is coming from? Snow is too dense, wind is loud. There is no way to know. She can pop out and by the time Jason sees, it is too late. He needs to calm down. Stop the storm. Stop her.
Calypso came in front of him. Red hands grip on a hilt, pointed straight to the prince. Jason take another step back, grind his teeth, and with a swipe of his hands, a spear of ice summon in his grip. The sword collide against the ice right before meeting Jason's chest.
Calypso's feet sink into the snow, making her smaller than she is actually is. "Why don't you stop Your Highness?" Jason push her away. She swing back. Only to trip and fall into the snow. She stay down.
Jason stare at her. "You okay?" He should be mad at her. Yet seeing her down as if in defeat, made him concern. She just started her taunting too. With the blunt end of the spear, Jason poke Calypso's head. "Are you alive?"
"Why?" She groan out. Jason take a step back as Calypso sits up. Tears fall over her redden cheeks. "Why did you hurt Leo?"
This stiffen him, "Hurt?"
"You hurt him. Leo turned ice cold; froze in his bed." Jason's grip slack around the spear. "I was there at his last breath. Yeah, I was using him as a stress relief but that doesn't mean I didn't give a fuck about him! The kingdom is in mourning." She sniff before brawling her eyes out. "I left before his funeral!"
Jason shake his head, "You're lying." The ice spear drops into the snow. His heart beat faster, breath shallow. There is no way Leo have died. It shouldn't have happen this fast. Leo should still have time left. "I don't believe you."
Calypso wipe her face aggressively. "Whether you believe me or not, the idiot is dead! It's all your fault!"
Jason cover his mouth from screaming. The storm stop. No heavy wind. Every snowflake flutter down. Silence fill around them; the only sound heard is Calypso's weeping. She fill the silence while Jason's head is fill with a continuous scream.
Jason drop to his knees.
She watch him. Everything seem to crumble in front of him. This is want she wanted. Calypso wasn't even sure he would take the bait. Hell, for all she knows, Leo could be dead somewhere. On the road. In a burning field. Who knows?
Right now, this is an opening. Calypso grab her sword. Stand up and walk to him. Her feet dipping into the snow; it made things difficult. Slow her down. She sniff. A deep breath as she lift her sword up. Jason isn't paying any attention. Then she get Apollo and the servant. Then find Leo and fix him. Take the throne.
It is not the throne she wants, but it is a throne.
A wicked smile twitch on her cheeks.
"JASON!" They jump. Jason turn. In the distance, in a crimson cloak, is Leo. His hair completely white. It almost blend in the background if it weren't for a single dark curl. As he walk closer, Jason can see the white flakes swirl up Leo's brown neck to cheeks.
"Leo. He's alive," Jason whisper to himself. He glare at Calypso. "Of course you lied."
Calypso grind her teeth. Her grip tighten. She swings.
Her aim is off. The surprise of Leo shifted her arms to her right. A slice to Jason's left shoulder. Blood splatter over Calypso's white dress. Snow dyed into crimson. Jason's shirt is drench of his own blood. He falls backward; clenching to the freshly new wound.
Pain shoot through his whole body. It made him silent. Only a small hiss escape. Can't even register that Calypso have pull back her sword. This time her aim better.
"THAT'S RIGHT! I LIED!" She yells.
"Wait! Caly!" Leo tries to run.
Jason looks up. The sky rumble. The sword glint in the dull sunlight. He smiles.
A bolt of lightning blasted in between them. Calypso goes flying once again; bouncing off the ground as if she is a pebble skipped on water. Her sword crackle to the ground. Jason is unfazed.
Bits of bolts tickle up his legs like an old friend. "What's the matter brother?" Her black braided hair crackle like a storm. Lightning dance on her. "Are the fighting lessons not working? Or you didn't want to hurt a girl? Did the lesson from Artemis and I, of an equal fight, not get in your head?"
Thalia smiles down to her bloody twin brother. The metal snake lady seem to be hissing lightning.
"Don't worry. I'm here to help."
