I was at the house Nik had built for all of us with Bekah and Nikolas. I'd put Nikolas in his crib that we'd left up for him. It was going to be the last thing we were going to pack up. I walked in to see Bekah looking at the pictures Nik had drawn. My phone rang and looked down at it to see Tyler's caller ID. I ignored the call and moved to Bekah. I felt tears in my eyes as I watched the heartbroken vampire pick up one of the pictures and began to choke up. She threw the picture down and knocked the rest of them off the table in a fit of rage and I walked to her. I held her as the tears fell down our faces.

"You should know better than to sneak up on a lady." Bekah said through her tears. I turned and saw Damon.

"Good advice. Have you seen one?" he asked her as she turned to him.

"Tragic about Elena. Not to make a grey cloud greyer, but does Matt even have automobile insurance?" Bekah asked him. She turned back around and Damon rushed at her with the indestructible White Oak Stake and I screamed making Nikolas cry. She grabbed his wrist and prevented him from killing her. She pushed him against a dresser and he dropped the stake. I ran to get it and keep it from him while going to Nikolas. Suddenly, someone started firing wodden bullets through the window. I watched Damon manage to escape but Bekah was shot in the heart with an arrow and temporarily died and I opened mouth in horror and hid as men came into the house and took her away. They found me holding Nikolas and I backed away from them slowly when I saw the one person I was surprised to see.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I asked him.

I was sitting in the back of a police car behind of a black van that held my friend Bekah and former friend Caroline. They refused to tell me where they were taking us and even injected me with vervain to make sure I was human. They tried to take Nikolas from me but he and Bekah were my only links to Nik, nothing would rip my son from me. Nikolas hadn't stopped crying since we'd left the mansion and I wasn't risking taking him out of the car seat I'd been allowed to grab.

"Shut him up." On of the officers told me.

"Go to hell." I told him. Suddenly we were attacked by something and Tyler opened the door closest to me and I looked at him in shock.

"How the hell are you alive?" I asked him. "Nik is dead, so how are you alive?"

"I'm harder to kill than you think." He told me and I looked at him confused. He helped me out before carefully grabbing the carseat and holding it between us.

"My little prince." I said smiling down at him, caressing his face gently. "Caroline's in the black van with Bekah." I told him taking the carseat from him, knowing he'd save her. Tyler went to the black van and saved Caroline, leaving Bekah like I knew he would. I started to the van when I felt someone holding me around my waist and vanishing into thin air.

When we got to the woods I saw Caroline look relived to see me. She was going to pull me into a hug but I backed away from her quickly with the carseat still in my arms. She looked at me and Tyler confused before rushing to Tyler and hugging him and trying to kiss him. He pushed her away from him and she looked between us confused.

"What's going on?" she asked us.

"That's what I would like to know." I told her looking at Tyler.

"Don't give me that look, love. I'm okay, isn't this a good thing?" he asked us and I gave him a look. Something was off about him.

"But you're miraculously alive." Caroline said happily. "We're fugitives on the run together, just like we said." Before she noticed what I noticed. "Did you just call her love?"

"I don't know, love. Did I?" he asked looking at us.

"Nik?" I asked my mouth falling open and tears coming to my curious eyes.

"What the hell did you do to Tyler?!" Caroline asked angrily.

"Listen, I didn't have to risk exposure to come save you. My girl and son are one thing my girls friend is another." Nik told us.

"Ex friend." I told him and he smirked.

"What paradise being blown away?" he asked us.

"Oh, you do one semi-decent thing and now you're our hero?" Caroline asked him.

"I'll explain when I can look into your real eyes." I told him.

"Put Tyler back!" Caroline ordered.

"Gladly. Then maybe I can get some time with my family." He told us putting his arm around my shoulders.

"Please don't touch me in that body." I told him pushing his arm off me before the four of us made our way to the witch house.

We went to the house and told Bonnie we needed the spell reversed. Sadly she told us the one thing none of us wanted to hear. Caroline and I need our boyfriends back and that didn't include them being together.

"She said she's not strong enough." Jeremy almost shouted at us.

"You were strong enough to put me in here. Surely, you're strong enough to get me out." Nik reminded her.

"I upset the spirits trying to save Elena. I can't use that kind of magic again. It's too dangerous." Bonnie told us.

"Bonnie, do the bloody spell!" Nik/Tyler demanded.

"She said she can't okay?" Caroline almost begged him. Nik and I turned to her, giving her a look. "We'll just wait a few days until you're strong enough to do it with traditional magic, right Bonnie?" I turned to Bonnie and she didn't confirm or deny anything. Nik ripped open his shirt, took a deep breath, and extended his claws on his right hand. He then punctured his chest with his claws and grabs Tyler's heart and begins to rip it out, making Caroline and I scream in shock.

"What are you doing?" Caroline asked him.

"Ripping Tyler's heart out. I'll jump into someone else." Nik said before turning to Jeremy. "Maybe you."

"Oh my God." Bonnie said.

"Nik stop." I told him.

"You're hurting him! Stop! Stop!" Caroline begged him.

"He's bluffing. He needs a witch to do that." Jeremy reminded us.

"What makes you think I don't have one? Or ten? Pick, Bonnie! You or Tyler!" Nik demanded. I looked at his chest and saw he had almost successfully torn open his chest.

"Stop, please! You're killing him!" Caroline begged.

"Fine, I'll do it! Just stop." Bonnie finally agreed and I sighed in relief. Nik took his hand from his chest and began to heal.

"Good. Let's begin." Nik said. He then knelt in front of her and looked down as she started performing the spell.

"This is black magic. She shouldn't be doing this." Jeremy told us.

"I want Nik back and Caroline wants Tyler. She has to do this." I told him. I missed the look of confusion that he threw my way as we watched. Tyler suddenly opened his eyes and looked up at us.

"Tyler?" Caroline asked him.

"Caroline. Hey." Tyler said. He tried to get up, but fell down to the ground.

"Tyler?" Caroline rushed to his side as Bonnie continued chanting.

"Bonnie, what are you doing?" Jeremy asked her. She stopped chanting and I moved to the coffin's side and looked down at Nik's gray body. "Bonnie, it worked. Stop."

"What's happening? Let me go!" Bonnie said and I looked at her confused. "Let me go!"

"Bonnie, what's happening?" Caroline asked her. Dark veins started creeping down Bonnie's arms before disappearing.

"Okay, let her go!" Bonnie said. "I'm sorry, Grams! They can't do this to you! Please, don't do this to her!"

"Bonnie, stop!" Caroline told her

"No! No! Oh my God!" Bonnie cried falling down on her knees, crying. Jeremy got down next to her and tried to comfort her. "What have I done?! What did I do?! What did I do? What did I do?"

"You finally did something good with all that magic, Bonnie." I told her. "You made my family whole again. Thank you." I turned to her and smiled before taking Nikolas out of his car seat along with a blood bag and held him close to me as we waited for Nik to come back to us.

I straightened up our room back at the mansion, trying to clean up the glass and pictures that had been thrown all over the room. I turned when I heard Nik walking into the room angrily.

"What happened here?" he asked me.

"Bekah and I were morning for you. She grew angry at your death." I told him, turning back to my work.

"How were you doing?" he asked me and I froze.

"How do you think?" I asked him, avoiding his gaze.

"I'm sorry, Nicole. I tried to call you, why didn't you answer?" he asked me.

"I was grieving for my boyfriend who'd just died! Why would I answer a phone call from another guy?!" I yelled turning to him.

"I was calling you to explain what had happened." He told me and I gave him a look.

"It doesn't matter anymore Nik! You're back and I remember everything!" I yelled at him and he looked at me confused for a moment.

"What do you mean?" he asked me. I went to one of the dressers and opened the top drawer, pushing out the false bottom and showed him the black velvet box that housed the ring he'd used to propose once before. "How do you remember?" he asked me.

"I don't know. But I remember." I told him. He walked back to me and took the box from my hand before opening it and looking at the ring.

"Have you looked at it?" he asked me.

"No. I remember you asking me to marry you, but that's it." I told him.

"You never gave me an answer that night. You started crying and I compeled you to forget." He told me and I looked down.

"Not long after that, Katherine and I faked my death and I came home." I told him. He pulled out the ring, keeping it hidden in his palm before grabbing my left hand and placing the ring on my ring finger. It had a gold twisted band with diamonds along the bands. In the center was a large solitary diamond that looked like it was being held up by the bands. "I asked you once and received no answer. Will you marry me?" he asked me and I smiled up at him.

"Yes."
