Hall of Records File # 8
Rey strained, struggling to wrench the lightsaber out of Kylo's telekinetic grasp. She wanted nothing more to make him pay for killing Han. However the man once known as Ben Solo's Force infused grip was just as powerful. This tug of war continued for a few more seconds when the scavenger and master of the Knights of Ren found their combined hold be negated by a third, far stronger Force pull.
The lightsaber of Anakin Skywalker hurtled through the air, end over end, before landing in a hand covered by a brown leather glove. Both looked to where a hooded figure held the weapon. Kylo Ren ground his teeth as the figure reached up with his free hand, letting the cowl fall back revealing the weathered face of Luke Skywalker, Grand Master of the New Jedi Order. He took a moment to regard his former weapon.
Rey was in awe. Here he was, Luke Skywalker, one of the greatest heroes the galaxy had ever seen, right here in the living flesh! Kylo looked less than happy to see his uncle again. "That lightsaber is mine! It belongs to me!" He held his hand out as if demanding it was to be turned over to him.
Luke just gave his nephew a look of quiet disproval. "You lost your claim to it a long time ago, Ben. You let Palpatine get inside your head, and look at what it's done to you."
Kylo just sneered at him. "Bah! He's done for me more than you and my poor excuse for parents ever did!" His sneer grew even brighter as he put his crossguard lightsaber away. "You know, I'm actually kind of glad you're here, Uncle. Because I have a little surprise for you!" He reached into the folds of his own cloak. "A little something I picked up on Mustafar!"
Luke's eyes widened at what was now in Kylo's hand. It was another lightsaber. One that he recognized all too well. The dark knight relished the feeling of dread coming from his uncle. "That's right! I've been saving this just for you!" He hit the switch, the angry blood red blade extended as Kylo Ren brought up the lightsaber of Darth Vader to a ready position. "The other half of my grandfather's legacy, and I will use it to end you for good!"
All he got was a weary shake of Luke's head. "You really believe that gives you some kind of special power, Ben? Darth Sidious filled your head with more lies than I thought. You want to play it this way? Very well then." He activated the lightsaber, the sapphire blue shaft of plasma sliding into existence. "I'll show you how wrong you are!"
Kylo Ren let out a wordless cry lunging at Luke Skywalker, each of them wielding a lightsaber once carried by Anakin Skywalker, representing the two sides of his personality, light and dark, Jedi and Sith.
Author's Notes: This is the Luke Skywalker we all remember. A man prepared to do what's right, and stand against the darkness. Star Wars is a rather touchy issue lately, so let's not beat a dead horse, shall we?
