Hall of Records File # 9

Rey strained, struggling to wrench the lightsaber out of Kylo's telekinetic grasp. She wanted nothing more to make him pay for killing Han. However the man once known as Ben Solo's Force infused grip was just as powerful. This tug of war continued for a few more seconds when the scavenger and master of the Knights of Ren found their combined hold be negated by a third, far stronger Force pull.

The lightsaber of Leia Organa Solo hurtled through the air, end over end, before landing in a hand covered by a brown leather glove. Both looked to where a hooded figure held the weapon. Kylo Ren ground his teeth as the figure reached up with his free hand, letting the cowl fall back revealing the weathered face of Luke Skywalker, Grand Master of the New Jedi Order. He took a moment to regard his sister's former weapon.

Rey was in awe. Here he was, Luke Skywalker, one of the greatest heroes the galaxy had ever seen, right here in the living flesh! She felt something rise in her, and realized it was hope. Her heart nearly seized when he looked right at her. His blue eyes holding a deep fire. "Hey." He called out, hurling Leia's saber to her. "Hold onto that for me." The scavenger deftly caught it. All Rey could do was give a dopey grin and nod to him.

Kylo's reaction to the new arrival was far less pleasant. "So you finally crawled out of hiding! Finally, I'll be able to put down the last of the Jedi and the Dark Side will rein supreme!"

Luke just gave his nephew a look of quiet disproval, shaking his head back and forth. "You just acting deluded, Ben. You let Palpatine get inside your head, and look at what it's done to you."

His nephew just sneered at him. "Bah! He's done for me more than you and my poor excuse for parents ever did!" His sneer grew even brighter as he put his crossguard lightsaber away. "You know, I'm actually kind of glad you're here, Uncle." He spat out that last word. "Because I have a little surprise for you!" He reached into the folds of his own cloak. "A little something I picked up on Mustafar!"

Luke's eyes widened at what was now in Kylo's hand. It was another lightsaber. One that he recognized all too well. The dark knight relished the feeling of dread coming from his uncle. "That's right! I've been saving this just for you!" He hit the switch, the angry blood red blade extended as Kylo Ren brought up the lightsaber of Darth Vader to a ready position. "The other half of my grandfather's legacy, and I will use it to end you for good!"

The only response Kylo got was another look of mild disproval, which further enraged him. "You really believe that gives you some kind of special power, Ben? Darth Sidious filled your head with more lies than I thought. You want to play it this way? Very well then." He pulled out his own lightsaber, and flipped the switch. The emerald green shaft of plasma sliding into existence. "I'll show you how wrong you are!"

Kylo Ren let out a wordless cry lunging at Luke Skywalker, and with that the Grand Master of the New Jedi Order faced the Master of the Knights of Ren, as Starkiller Base collapsed around them.

A revised version of the previous chapter, with some new details from Rise of Skywalker added in. I'm planning on doing a Star Wars story down the line, and this is what happens. Luke never loses Anakin's lightsaber at Cloud City, he's held onto it all these years. When Luke and Ben have their rematch on Crait, that's when we have them dueling with Anakin and Vader's lightsabers respectively. I would have loved to see that happen in the movies. How did Maz Kanata get her hands on Leia's lightsaber? I haven't gotten that far yet.
