Jason Southworth presents, The difficult freshman year. Based off the Total drama cartoon by Todd McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch. And the tugs television series by David Mitton.
We start off with Dwayne Junior narrating.
The school system, the way it's set up, is useful for helping young kids achieve their goals. But, the students of Bronzestone High, can sometimes crack under the pressure, and make bad decisions. This is The difficult freshman year.
The tugs theme then plays.
Junior's POV
Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Dwayne Santori Junior, but you can call me Junior for short. You may remember me from being on the Ridonculous race, with my father, Dwayne Santori Senior. But there was more that happened afterwards. Let's go back to late August 2010. At the time, the race had ended several months ago, and I was 14 years old. I was a diehard fan of Harold McGrady, he was my favorite total drama contestant. I also took a major liking for NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin, my bedroom was covered with Hamlin merchandise. Me and my mother Annie were currently looking online, to see what school would be a good fit for me, as I was about to enter the ninth grade,
Reader's POV
"Alright, let's take a look at what we've got here" said Annie. "There's so many bad options, I can't find one near us that doesn't have a major history of criminals." She then looked at one that disgusted her. "Dear God, this one makes it mandatory for all students to wear shorts, even in winter." Dwayne Senior then walked into the room. "What's going on here?" he asked. "Having trouble finding me a high school" said Junior. "For goodness sake Annie, can't we just send him to Bronzestone?" asked Dwayne. "It's literally a five minute drive from our house." "Dwayne, you know how difficult their entrance exams are" said Annie. "But that's where we fell in love as kids, then we got married and had Junior" said Dwayne. "Well I don't know if he has the smarts to get in, and advance on through the years" said Annie. "The highest grade he ever got on an exam is a B+." "But the lowest i've ever gotten was a C-" said Junior. "I think I can handle it"
Junior's POV
I eventually got my mother to agree to it, and I was allowed to take the entrance exam. Me and a bunch of other kids my age were led into an empty classroom. Knowing that I was a famous contestant on the Ridonculous race, several students asked for my autograph. The teachers at the exam of course, told them to wait until after the exam was over. We had to put all electronic devices in a basket, and we'd get them back when the exam was over. We also had dividers in between tables, to prevent any copying. We needed at least a 60% to get into the freshman year. How we did on certain subjects in the exams, would determine which classe we would take. I managed to get in with a grade of 80%. After exiting the building, I got to know some of the people that had also managed to make it into the school.
One of them was an 8 year old prodigy named Seth. Being a prodigy he was very clever, but he had been having bladder issues since he was 4. While it was nothing fatal, he had to go to the bathroom more often than the average human. Then there was Bertha, the only female in the group. Bertha was a kind girl, but she did have a minor temper. This could be due to the fact that she is picked on for having a really small chest for her age. Of course, there was no way I was saying this out loud to her. Her cousin Wilson was a bit of a scatterbrain. He drew a blank on several of the questions, and barely scraped through the exam with a 60%. Hudson was a friendly person, but he always had a no nonsense attitude when it came to rules, but he would occasionally crack a joke here and there. Terrence was actually an immigrant from England, and got the highest score on the exam with a 93%. He cared for others, but he was a little bit cocky, and had a minor ego. The last person wasn't really a student, but he was open to friends of all ages. His name was Oscar Star, and he was the school groundskeeper. He was 80 years old, and was actually the school principal, until he decided to step down this year, due to his old age. His son Arthur Star, had just been made the new principal.
Reader's POV
Junior was about to start his first day of high school, and was just packing up his bag. "Alright Junior, I want you to try not to get involved with the students at Emeraldstone high." said Dwayne. "What's wrong with that school?" asked Junior. "Let's just say they don't always play by the rules" said Dwayne. The bus then pulled up to their house. "Well I gotta go dad, i'll see you at 3:00" said Junior. He then got on the bus, and was now on his way to school.
Junior's POV
Emeraldstone high really consisted of some truly negative students. 85% of the students who went there, went on to become convicts, and some of those students were still in there after 30 years. They were always the top rivals with Bronzestone when it came to sporting events. The players on the school teams, are extremely aggressive during the games when the two schools are paired against each other. Bronzestone and Emeraldstone hated each other, and it was rare to see two students of the same school befriend one another. The principal, Martin Zero, had heard the news of my arrival Bronzestone, and he called the school prefect, 12th grader Zachary to his office.
Reader's POV
"Listen Zachary, this school just took a big blow in terms of popularity" said Principal Zero. "Bronzestone now has a popular reality show contestant, and this is going to take attention from us." "You're my most trusted student, and I need you to find some way to eliminate him from the school." "Don't worry Principal Zero, he'll be out of there, before he can get out of the ninth grade" said Zachary.
Junior's POV
It may seem as though the students of Emeraldstone high were going to be the biggest obstacles I had to deal with, but I had to put up with something much worse. It was a senior that was actually from Bronzestone, and he would be one of the worst people I ever met. But that is a story, for another day.
Author's note: This story is not canon to The race around the states, meaning that story, and everybody has feelings, never happened. But the things that are canon to The race around the states, are Harold being Junior's favorite Total Drama contestant, and Denny Hamlin being Junior's favorite NASCAR driver. These will be pointed out in that story eventually.
You can obviously tell that this is the Total Drama version of Tugs, and i'm going to point out some similarities. The Bronzestone high students are based on the Star tugs, and the Emeraldstone students are based on the Z stacks. Now here are the character similarities.
Junior- Ten Cents
Seth- Sunshine
Bertha- Big Mac
Wilson- Warrior
Hudson- Hercules
Terrence- Top Hat
Oscar- O.J
Principal Star- Captain Star
Principal Zero- Captain Zero.
Zachary- Zorran
Special thanks to Dwayne Tails Junior for suggesting this idea. It seems as though we both have Dwayne Junior as a favorite Total Drama character. And special thanks to FlameFyre12345 on DeviantArt for the list of Total Drama last names.
Thank you for reading and please have a great day.
