(Orihime's Voice) With Cuteness and Strength

The competition was about begin. Just as it was, a black limo pulled up to the arena with a man stepping out. He had perfectly combed sandy brown hair with him wearing a black suit with the blazer opened and showed his white shirt with a red scarf around his neck.

"Hello, Nicholas. We've been awaiting your arrival." An employee for the competition said as he entered the place. "There are many fine trainers here and we're hoping there's one to your liking."

"The pokemon are the stars." Nicholas said. "I doubt I'll find what I'm looking for here, but I did agree to watch." It looks like there's at least one person who isn't as excited as everyone else.

...

The Arena

"You all better take your seats." Baron said. "Our competition is about to start." Everyone was getting excited and couldn't wait to see the pokemon in action.

"This is going to be great. I just know Orihime is going to do great." Ichigo said.

"You can say that again." Rukia said. Orihime's friends were all supporting her, but Orihime still needs to win the competition.

"We will begin with the first half of our competition." Baron said. "This is where showman and show-woman show off the best qualities of their pokemon. Our judges will score our competitors out of fifty. The higher your score, the higher your chances of making it to the next round. I know I'm ready. I'm sure the rest of you are as well. That means let's begin!" Everyone cheered as the competition has begun. As for this Nicholas, he was watching from a VIP room, but he it didn't seem like he was expecting much. Pokemon and trainers gave off a performance that shows the best quality, trait, or characteristic of their pokemon. "Now, here comes...Riruka!" Riruka came running out on the field and was ready to go.

"There's that Riruka again." Ichigo said.

"We'll see what she can really do." Chad said.

"Stufful, time for some fun!" Riruka said as she called out her pokemon.

"Stufful!" Stufful came out and sat right in the middle of the stage.

"Keep your eyes on Stufful." Riruka said. "Now use Baby-Doll Eyes!" Stufful made its eyes look all watery with hearts shooting out of them. Stufful looked just too cute and precious to ignore.

"Isn't that adorable, and the fact that Stufful looks like an adorable stuffed toy certainly helps." Baron said as even he was infatuated with Stufful.

"You haven't seen anything yet. Stufful is as strong as it is cute." Riruka said as she snapped her fingers. That was when an amble was being lowered and was right on top of Stufful.

"Oh my! What's that for?!" Baron questioned. The amble was released from the cables that held it and was going to fall right on Stufful.

"Now use Superpower!" Riruka said. Stufful emitted a strong aura around itself. Stufful raised it's paws and was able to catch the amble like it was a mere baseball. Everyone was impressed with how it was able to do all that.

"Stufful does appear to be cute as it is strong." Baron said. "Let's see what our judges seem to think of this?" Everyone looked to a large screen and saw Riruka's score being dialed until it was shown. "Wow! She has a score of 46. That's a pretty good score."

"That's it? I thought we would have gotten more than that with cuteness." Riruka said as she grabbed Stufful and carried Stufful out.

...

Orihime

Orihime saw that performance of Riruka's. She was a little intimidated with what she could do. Riruka was better than Orihime thought.

"Orihime, you're next." An employee said.

"Here we go." Orihime said as she got herself ready. She was on her way to the stage with her passing Riruka. "Hey, Riruka. You were pretty good out there."

"Thanks." Riruka said as she kept walking. Orihime went on ahead, but Riruka was a little curious to see what Orihime can do. Orihime made her way to the stage and was ready to go.

"Our next contestant comes all the way from Unova. Please welcome Orihime!" Baron said with Orihime running out on stage for her introduction.

"Knock them dead, Orihime!" Her friends called in support.

"Sylveon, let's go!" Orihime called.

"Sylveon!" Sylveon flipped in the air a couple times as she landed down.

"Fairy Wind!" Orihime said. Sylveon started twirling its ribbons around and unleashing a sparkling breeze. As Sylveon kept the wind going, she danced around with her ribbons looking elegant and graceful.

"This is certainly a lovely sight." Baron said. "Sylveon is using the attack while dancing. What else do these two have for us?"

"Sylveon, Dazzling Gleam!" Orihime said. Sylveon added the finishing touch to her performance. She made her ribbons look like a heart and unleashed a dazzling rainbow light. It certainly was a beautiful sight. Everyone appeared to have loved it.

"What a way to show the elegance of a fairy-type. Judges?" Baron said as they all looked at Orihime's score. It dialed until it soon landed. "Orihime has scored 48! That's the best score yet!"

"Yes!" Orihime cheered as she and Sylveon were most proud of themselves.

...

The Waiting Room

As they were finishing up the first round, Orihime and Riruka could only wait to see if they really do make it to the next round. While they were waiting, Ichigo and the others came in.

"Hey, Orihime." Ichigo said.

"You and Sylveon were great out there." Rukia said.

"Thanks guys. Do you really think I'll make it to the next round? Anything could happen?" Orihime said.

"I don't see how you can't." Chad said.

"I hate to admit it, but they're right." Riruka said. "You actually did a pretty great job. I mean it is clear since you were able to score higher than me."

"Don't sell yourself short." Ichigo said. "You were great, both of you. You both looked great, and there's no doubt that both of you are making it to the next round."

"Absol." Absol thought the same thing as well.

"Thank you, Ichigo." Orihime said as she was blushing. Riruka didn't let that go unnoticed.

"All done! We now have our eight contestants that are going to the next round!" Baron announced. All of them looked to see who was making it, both girls hoping they did. When the eight lucky winners were shown, Riruka and Orihime were both shown up there.

"Yes! I'm in!" Orihime said. "Riruka, it's great that you made it too."

"Just you wait. The battle is just starting." Riruka said as she wasn't going to lose that easily.

...

The Stage

"We now advance to the second half." Baron said. "This is where our eight contestants battle each other to see who will win in the end. There is no time limit. The battle is over when one side can no longer battle." The battles went on with Riruka and Orihime giving it their all. They battled at their best and they soon both made it to the final round. "We've now entered the final round. We have Orihime against Riruka. In the end, only one will walk out of here as our winner. Whenever you lovely ladies are ready, you may begin!"

"Stufful, time for some fun!" Riruka said.

"Stufful!"

"Sylveon, let's go!" Orihime said.

"Sylveon!"

"It's Sylveon vs. Stufful." Rukia said. "Orihime has the advantage. She just needs to have those fairy attacks hit."

"Get her, Orihime!" Ichigo cheered.

"Stufful, before they have a chance to attack, use Baby-Doll Eyes!" Riruka said. Stufful launched hearts from his eyes and everyone was getting swayed by them.

"Riruka starts with Baby-Doll Eyes, weakening Sylveon's attack power." Baron said.

"Stufful is such a cutie! Still, I'm aiming to win. Dazzling Gleam!" Orihime said.

"Sylveon!" Sylveon ignored those eyes and went on the attack. Sylveon charged right at Stufful in a glistering light and it managed to hit. They were expecting a lot of damage to be dealt, but Stufful looked fine.

"What's this? That should have been a super effective attack, but Stufful looks fine." Baron said.

"Ha! That's my Stufful's ability: Fluffy. Physical attacks like that are only half as effective, and it doesn't help that we weakened your attack power." Riruka said. That didn't sound good to Orihime. "Now use Iron Head!" Stufful had it's head cover in iron and charged at Sylveon, landing a powerful blow against her.

"That Iron Head has to hurt." Baron announced.

"It knows Iron Head?!" Chad said.

"That's a powerful attack against Sylveon. This might not be as easy as I thought." Rukia said.

"In that case, we'll use Attract!" Orihime said. Sylveon winked and unleashed hearts at Stufful. However, they did nothing upon contact. "Nothing?! That means that Stufful is a girl!"

"You bet! Stufful, show some girl power with Superpower!" Riruka said.

"Stufful!" Stufful charged at Sylveon and landed another powerful attack against Sylveon.

"This is not looking good for Orihime. None of her attacks seem to be working." Baron said.

"This one will! Fairy Wind!" Orihime said. Sylveon generated the sparkling wind and it hit, Stufful being pushed back this time.

"It looks like Orihime still has an attack that can work, but Stufful isn't beaten yet." Baron said as Stufful could still battle.

'Dazzling Gleam is our best attack, but it's only half as effective now.' Orihime thought as she was trying to figure out what to do. 'We've got no choice. Sylveon might not last much longer if another powerful attack hits.' "Sylveon, Dazzling Gleam!"

"Stufful, Iron Head!" Riruka said. The two pokemon charged and smashed themselves against each other as they tried to push the other back.

"It's a real struggle here. Who is going to be the first one to give in?" Baron said with tension rising.

"That's going to be me! Brutal Swing!" Riruka said. Stufful added some power in her paw. She smashed it right against Sylveon and created an opening. Stufful pushed and smashed itself against Sylveon. Sylveon took too much damage and was knocked right out of the battle.

"Sylveon no longer appears able to battle. That means Stufful is the winner and the winner of the Emerald Town Talent Star is Riruka!" Baron announced with everyone cheering. Orihime battle hard, but she just couldn't cut it.

"Oh man. Orihime lost." Ichigo said.

"Riruka had some good moves. That's all it was." Rukia said. They felt bad Orihime lost, but Orihime put on a brave face. Now that the battle was over, Riruka was being rewarded her medeal, a gold medal with a star engraved and a green diamond in it.

"Congratulations on your win, Riruka. We'll be expecting great things from you in the future." Baron said.

"Thanks a lot." Riruka said as she took the medal with everyone having a great time. As for this Nicholas, he didn't seem amused at all.

"There. I watched." Nicholas said as he was just leaving the place. None of them seem to have caught his interest for they all appeared the same to him. He was looking for something special. He was on his way out, but he spotted Sylveon down a hall.

"Don't worry, Sylveon." Orihime said when she stepped out after changing her clothes. "We may have lost, but we'll do better next time."

"Sylveon..." Sylveon still seemed upset, but Orihime lifted her up.

"It's okay." Orihime said. "We'll win the next one. There's no need to be sad." Orihime gave off a smile, a genuine smile, and it caused Sylveon to smile too.

"She's smiling after she recently lost?" Nicholas said as he thought that was interesting to see.

...

Later

With the competition over, Riruka was about to part ways from Orihime and the rest.

"Congratulations, Riruka. I do hope we get to see each other again." Orihime said as she held out her hand. Riruka took it, but she got serious.

"Listen, if you want to call yourself my rival, you better win." Riruka said.

"I'll keep that in mind." Orihime said as she wasn't sure what to think of that.

"One more thing." Riruka said as she pulled Orihime closer for her to listen. "You better make your move with Ichigo or I might just swipe him from you." Orihime blushed from Riruka saying that. "Later." She said as she let go and headed out.

"Looks like you got yourself a new rival." Rukia said.

"We know you're going to do great next time." Ichigo said with Chad and Absol agreeing.

"Thanks guys. I will do better next time. Just wait and see." Orihime said as she was looking forward to next time.

...

Nicholas

"So, have you found any trainers that caught your interest, sir?" The driver asked as Nicholas was being driven out of town.

"I think I found one that caught my eye." Nicholas said as he was looking over some data one girl. "Orihime..." Something about Orihime caught Nicholas' attention, but what exactly would he want from her?

Even though Orihime lost her first competition in Kalos, she's keeping her head high. She's not going to let one defeat keep her down. Now, it's off to Boota City so that Ichigo can win his second badge. We'll see if he can...as the journey continues.

Pokemon Question: Okay, trainers. The answer to the last question was...Rockruff. Rockruff is a rock-type that evolves into Lycanroc, and Lycanroc comes in three forms: Midday form, Midnight form, and if you're lucky Dusk form. Here's the next question. What pokemon's feathers make it popular among trainers?
