Luz stared at her father, who was standing across from her.

"I can not believe that my own daughter, would betray me in such a manner..."

"D- Dad, I can explain!"

"No! No need to explain your treachery! Camila! Take her away!" Alexander said, turning away from Luz.

Camila rolled her eyes as she walked into the small, private dining area they had separately made from the rest of the castle.

"You both are so dramatic for your own good, we have more cookies right here." She presented the tray of fresh cookies to the pair.

You see, Luz had taken the last of Camila's famous chocolate coconut cookies. They were a delicacy to the pair since neither could figure how to make it and any attempt lead to smoking ovens, burnt coconut, and charred chocolate. In his anger, Alex destroyed the oven he had transported from the kitchen. In all honestly, it was really soothing for him.

Alex and Luz instantly attempted to maul the cookies. Seeing the 6' tall Emperor in full cloak magic armor was a rather scary sight, added with a hungry teen such as Luz.

"WaitWaitWait!" Camila shouted swinging the tray away from their reach. "First of all!" She leaned up and kissed Alex on the cheek. "Thanks for the kitchen, that ginormous commercial kitchen downstairs was too much." She then looked down at Luz. "And weren't you going to teach Luz something?" She asked.

Alexander snapped his fingers. "Ah how could forget!" He asked as he went to the far wall, he tapped his staff against the castle wall, making the bricks begin to separate and open.

"A door?" Luz asked. "How'd you do that?"

"The castle bows to my very will," Alex said as he stepped out onto an awaiting griffin. "Hop on, loves," He referred to the both of them, the pair followed him onto the flying lion-eagle hybrid.

The griffin cawed loudly as it flew them to an open field near the castle, near meaning the next town over.

"What if they need you back at the castle?" Luz asked.

"Kikimora can handle it for a small while," Alex said simply, "for now, I am simply focused on teaching you something important."

"I assume that your mentor taught you how to use spell circles?" Alexander asked as he cast a warding spell around the field they were in.

"Well yes... But it didn't go well..." She said honestly. "I put too much power into the spell, created a sun."

"Hm, I remember..." He stroked his chin. "I am all-seeing, after all."

"You saw?" Luz asked with wide eyes.

"We were worried about your first day, Mija, but we promise we won't watch you around the Isles," Camila said.

"Anyway, after seeing this, I decided to teach you how to cast spells on my own." He said. "Edalyn is still your teacher, just teaching you how to make a proper circle without blasting yourself off the Isles."

Alex then handed away his staff to Camila, who stepped back in caution, watching her superpowered family practice magic.

"Alright, normally witches use spell circles to cast spells, however, you and I are different. We are blessed by the Titan." He then pointed upwards and drew a red circle in the air, over his head. It was normal-sized. "For example, a circle of this size should make a normal stream of fire but..." He activated the spell. A giant dragon's breath stream of fire flew from the circle, lighting up the morning sky. Luz stumbled backward, feeling the heat coming off the Dragon Breath.

"Woah, Dad!" She shouted, impressed as he slowly killed down the spell until it was no more.

"Cutting to the chase, dear, spell circles are too much for us. That's why I use a staff. It is perfect for channeling my power and allows me to control my magic more effectively. Although I can't have a palisman..."

"Can I have a staff then!?" Luz asked, wanting to control her power as soon as possible, especially after unintentionally turning Adegast into stone, not knowing how she was able to do that? She lost control herself. Eda kept saying it was the most amazing thing she's seen, how the Emperor was the only person who could petrify people, and even he needed a machine.

"Well, a staff is earned through hard work and dedication to your studies, you'll earn your own staff when you prove yourself to be in control of your powers. Some witches don't even use staffs, preferring their hands." He explained as he pointed his finger at Luz. "Until then, this is how you'll use magic."

A red dot appeared at the very tip of his finger. "You've been unconsciously doing this, with the girl at school and the vase the first day you were here, you just need to do it intentionally, from now on," Alexander said. "A dot is more than enough for us to cast spells. It depends on the size of the dot. Here, let's learn a new spell." He snapped his fingers, making a box rise from the ground. It was made of dirt.

"The levitating "spell" I used on you so you wouldn't become a splat on the wall." He said as he stood next to Luz.

Luz nodded and pointed her finger at the dirt block. "What do I do? I don't know."

"Just focus on the dirt block. You must visualize in your mind picking it up, you can get more practice with other items. Just warn you not to use it on people."

"Why?" She asked.

"You'll crush them if you're not careful, you need to control your grip as well as the strength you put into the grip," Alexander explained.

Luz nodded, deciding to practice very hard before trying it on people. She closed her eyes, thinking about the spell... Making sure to be careful, not wanting to destroy the dirt block.

Slowly, the dirt block started to lift off the ground, a small clearance being made under it before it shot up into the sky at tremendous speeds. Alexander watched it fly into what was probably the stratosphere.

"Oh wow, thank the Titan we didn't use a castle servant... Guess it doesn't need to be said, that you need to concentrate or else that." Alex said with a laugh before ruffling Luz's hair. "Don't worry about getting it right the first time, you'll get it eventually." He said.

Luz felt his big hand on her head, messing up her hair. "Thanks, Dad..." She said, before looking up at Alexander. "I really appreciate you helping me out with my magic." She said.

Alex's smiled down at Luz, he could see Camila giggling at the cute bonding scene between the two of them. He swore she snapped a picture of them when he wasn't paying attention. Alex cleared his throat and picked up his daughter, squeezing her tightly in a hug.

"Anything to make up for a long absence from your life, my little light," He said, holding her shoulder, "Go take some cookies and get going, your mentor is probably wondering where you are." Alexander said as he leaned down and gave Luz a soft kiss on her forehead, "Stay safe."

"I will!" Promising her father, she ran to Camila, taking a few cookies, "Love you Dad! Mama!" She called out before going to the griffin and climbing on. "Uhm... The Owl House?" She asked. The griffin Cawed loudly, flying into the air and flying towards the Owl House.

Alexander saw her flying away into the distance. Camila walked up to Alexander, holding his gauntleted hand and handing him his staff.

"I'm scared for her..." Alexander said suddenly.

"Why do you say that, hun?"

"Just a fear that she'll lose herself, she's extraordinarily powerful for her age and she doesn't have all that much control just yet. She sent the dirt into the stratosphere," He said, " and you saw how she made a small sun and even petrified that demon, didn't even know something like that was possible."

"We have to believe in our daughter, Mi Amor," She said softly, leaning up and kissing his cheek softly, "I'm sure that she'll be an amazing Witch one of these days, powerful and an even better Emperess." She said softly.

Scoffing, he turned to Camila. "I've been a great Emperor for more than 50 years, the Titan blessed me with long life, after all. I could probably rule for another 50 years!" He proclaimed, flexing his still strong build.

Camila giggled. "Wouldn't you enjoy spending those years with me, better?"

Alex smiled and held Camila close, giving her a soft kiss. "Of course, dear, spending retirement in the Human World with you will be a real dream. I'm tired of being the all-powerful Emperor..." He said, kissing her again and holding her tightly as they laughed. "Let's get going, We need to enroll Luz into the Hexside magic school." With that, they got onto a second griffin and flew into town.
