Luz was currently walking through the woods, the trash slug incident grossing her out beyond belief and just needing some air to breathe.

"Only the Isles can have something that smells that bad, needed air before going back and-"

"Alright, you can do this, Willow!" A voice said.

Luz turned her head towards the sound, someone else talking. Sounded young, time to investigate. Luz crouched and walked forward into some bushes, making sure to stay low and undetectable...

"Alright, Willow, you can do this!" The witch, Willow, hyped herself up, she was wearing an odd outfit, she's seen it before. Amity wore it too. Did all the kids on Isle's wear that? Luz thought to herself as she continued to watch the witch get ready.

Willow extended her arms at the pot, that was being carried by a wheel barrel.

"A- Abomination!" She paused as the pot shook, "Rise!" She exclaimed.

The pot shook violently, the lid toppled off entirely before the entire pot fell off the Wheel barrel and various shades of purple sludge spilled, as well as a mouth and a few eyeballs.

"Ugh!" Willow cried out. "This is impossible..." She stomped the ground, accidentally killing a flower. "Oh no! I'm so sorry!" She yelled to no one in particular, going on her knees, she cast a green circle. The spell illuminated the flower green and brought it back to life, it brimmed with life and was vibrant.

In the bushes, Luz was impressed, she seemed to have a very close connection to plant life. She was about to make herself known, done with eavesdropping when another wheel barrel carted itself into the forest clearing. "Oh Willow!" Amity announced, closing her book and revealing herself on top of her much nicer pot. No, it was a cauldron, the iron was black and her last name, Blight, was engraved into the side on a gold plate. Probably real gold too.

"You're so unnoticeable I almost rolled right into you." She jumped in front of Willow, crushing the flower beneath her foot.

"Hi, Amity..." Willow said, silently mourning the lost flower, as she got back to her feet.

"Shouldn't you be in class already? Abomination prep work is always the hardest..." She looked to the side, at the spilled Abomination on the ground. "For some, more than others."

Luz felt like her eyes would roll out of her skull if she could roll them any harder, she knew Amity was trouble, but she was still determined to make her, her best friend. Nothing like befriending someone to change them for the better. If it happened all those times on TV, it'll happen again.

Luz missed part of the conversation while she was thinking of TV tropes, but she did see Amity's Abmonation draw a star with its finger before slinking back into the Cauldron. She narrowed her eyes as Amity rode away, using magic to push the wheel barrel. Luz also watched as Willow began a rant about hating abominations, being tired of it, and especially being tired of Amity berating her and putting her down.

Willow then began to glow green as thorny vines shot from the ground around her before a few stray vines attacked her, wrapping around her feet and pulling her out of her excellent hiding spot, the bush.

"Gah!" She yelled in surprise as she was pulled into the air and over Willow. Willow herself looked over Luz, her eyes were a brilliant Green, glowing a tad bit in an eerie manner. She gasped, realizing that she had ensnared a bystander. "Oh gosh!" She said suddenly, her eyes abruptly stopped glowing as she had the vines set Luz down on the ground, she made them recede into the forest and earth.

"I'm so sorry! I didn't think there was anybody here!" Willow apologized, looking downcast.

Why are you saying sorry for?!" She shouted, "That was so cool and powerful! And you had so much control over the plants!" Luz added.

Willow was surprised by the sudden praising given to her by Luz, she blushed and looked off to the side, "T- Thank you... Uhm, so who are you?" Willow then noticed her ears. "Oh? So circular..." She said, poking Luz's out-of-place round ears. Luz covered them. "Oh! You're a human! How did you get here? Why are you in the forest? Can you do magic?" She threw several questions at Luz, inspecting her entire person.

I- I was born here," A lie but she had an identity to protect, "I was on a walk in the forest from my mentor's home, and yes I can do magic. I was born half-a-witch." Luz answered her questions with a nervous laugh. "I'm Luz, I heard Amity call you Willow."

Willow shot an eyebrow at her. "You know Amity Blight?"

"Yeah, our mentors are Sisters, we've come into contact several times," she explained, "She doesn't like me much... Can't understand why." Luz sighed.

"Yeah, sounds like Amity... How much did you hear?"

"What?"

"You heard Amity say my name, so that means that you were hiding for a while," Willow explained.

Luz opened her mouth to respond, but the distant sounds of bells rung. "Oh No!" Willow exclaimed, running over to the spilled abomination, starting to shovel Ambination Goo and slime into the pot with her hands. "I don't have time to fix this or I'll be late! I'm going to get an F again, for sure!"

Luz's eyes lit up like twinkling stars. "Late? a bad grade, F? Is there a Magic school around here?!" She asked excitedly.

Willow looked up to her, "Yeah, just past the trees. Hexside Academy of Magic and Demonics, best magic school this side of the Chest, it's built on the remains of our rival school." Willow explained.

"Can I go!?" Luz asked with pleading puppy eyes.

"I- You need to have enrolled and that's only at the beginning of a semester." She added, still attempting to scoop her failed creation into the pot. Luz stroked her chin as she walked around the clearing and began thinking of an idea, a plan if you will. A dastardly idea, sure to prevail to get her into the school.

"What if I became your abomination!?" She said suddenly, surprising the plant lover enough to make stop scooping. "H- Huh? What do you mean? I can't dissect you for parts now! It'd take too long and-"

"Nono!" Luz interrupted, grabbing goo off the ground and smearing her clothes. "I meant, what if I became your abomination?! Like, what if I passed off as your creation! you'd get an "A" finally, show up Amity, and then you can show me around Hexside!" Luz said as she coated herself in much more goo. Her entire face was obscured, Willow couldn't even recognize the tanned girl under there.

"I- I don't know, Luz... What if we get caught? Detention is no joke around here... And I could get into even more trouble for sneaking someone in..." She bit her nails, starting to think extra hard.

"Come on! I'm sure nothing will happen!" She said, urging Willow to say yes.

Willow sighed, before looking towards Luz. "I'm gonna regret this, but let's do it, hopefully bringing home an A will ease my nerves."

Luz squealed loudly, hoping in place before jumping into the pot. "Let's Go, Let's Go!" She said excitedly.

Willow got to her feet, beginning to wheel her wheel barrel towards the school.

Belos, Emperor Belos... The most powerful witch on the Isle, ruler and commander and ultimate peacekeeper and enforcer of the Titans will, was currently sitting next to his wife, in front of Principal Bumps desk, or rather, Headmaster Bump as he was meant to be called. A troubled student replaced the plate on his desk and started calling him Principal. It was too late to change it back. He cleared his throat.

"Your Greatness-"

"Emperor is fine," Belos said, mask on, Emperor mode.

"Emperor," He began, "I don't seem to understand what you mean..?" He asked, "Who do you wish to Enroll in Hexside?" He asked, hoping for clarification.

Under his mask, Belos pursed his lips, not wanting to give away much more information than "I wish to enroll someone". He didn't want to risk anything when it came to Luz's safety.

He was silent.

"He means our daughter," Camila said with an eye roll, squeezing Belos's hand through his gauntlet.

"Camila!" He exclaimed.

"Well, you weren't going to say anything!" She turned back to the shocked Principal, "Yes, Principal Bump, your hearing isn't failing you." Camila then stood up. "We have a daughter and we intend on enrolling her into your school, but I want you to understand something very important..." She said seriously, staring deep into his eyes, her glasses reflected in the sun, casting a cinematic glare against them. Belos then stood next to her.

"We want you to understand," He placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her, "That her safety is extremely important to us... And if anything bad would happen to her, just now you'd be held completely responsible." He warned. "She is the future Empress of the Isles, understand?" He asked, his eyes glowing blue under his mask and casting a threatening Aura with his ancient and powerful magic. "Can you ensure that her safety and security will be assured?"

Bump was sweating under his demon mask, he tugged his shirt and cleared his throat before nodding. "Y- yes! Emperor, Emperess!" He said from his seat. "You have my word that your Daughter will be safe under my careful eyes," He assured them, standing and folding his arms behind his back, in an attempt to look assertive.

Belos nodded. "Thank you, who knows, maybe if she shows progress, we'll give the school more funding, I did see several spots that could use..." Belos looked for the right words. "Improvements, to be polite."

Bump nodded. "Thank you, sir, now there's the case of paperwork..." He said, drawing a spell circle in the air and a giant stack of papers appeared mid-air before slamming on the desk with a thud.

Camila sighed as she sat back down. "Should've known." She said as she and Belos started to read and fill out paperwork.

-Y- 30 minutes later -Y-

Belos sighed as he signed the last piece of paper.

"Dagger?" Belos asked.

Principal Bump handed a curvy dagger from his sleeve to the Emperor. Belos cut his palm and slowly bled onto the paper. It glowed bright red before a voice said "the pact is sealed" and the paper went back to normal. "Are we done?" Belos asked as he used his magic to heal the cut on his palm as if it never existed in the first place.

Principal Bump nodded as flipped through the stack of papers. "Yes, of course..." After scanning through the stack of papers, he looked up at The Emperor. "What did you say your daughter's name was?"

"Oh, it's Luz. Luz Noceda-Belos. I wrote her full name down, don't let these documents spill." Belos said, standing up with Camila, they started walking to the door, "Have a nice day-"

"PRINCIPAL BUMP!" Amity shouted, slamming the door open, she looked angry, a dark-skinned Illusion student hiding behind her. "THERE'S AN INTRUDER-" She stopped when she saw that the Emperor was imposing over her. "My Lord!" She said respectfully, bowing quickly.

"Rise, what is this about an Intruder..? In the school..?" He asked.

"A- A witch entered the school, sir, through a student's Abomination!" Amity said, standing straight as she stepped back as the Emperor stepped out of the office. Amity then whispered something to the Emperor. He seemed to hear, for he sighed.

"I understand, thank you, Ms. Blight, return to your class... We can't have intruders in your school can we, Principal, can we? I'll handle this." Belos said, lifting his hand and making his staff appear in his hands, he tapped his staff onto the floor, the school's security system activated, added with an extra bit of Titan magic from the Emperor. "Lead the way." He said to Amity, he turned to Camila. "I'll be but a moment, my love..." He said before following Amity out of the room.

Luz was currently freaking out, she had attempted to run away with Willow when things went awry.

The Abomination teacher became curious, asking multiple questions, and wanting to know what it was made of. Willow had said that it was a trade family secret, that she was only now trusted with. That seemed to dissuade him. Amity then started questioning Willow during lunch.

Which led to Amity shaking the Abomination, making Luz's Goo mask fall off, which then led to Amity's instant recognition. Gus followed, attempting to slow Amity down. He made several fake walls and doors.

They almost made it out, but before they could make it through the final door, a red barrier stopped them, making Luz slam face-first and fall onto her back. "Ughhh..." She groaned as she rubbed her face.

"Oh No!" Willow exclaimed, hitting the barrier and punching it. "Bump activated the Security!" She said. "What are we gonna do!?" She said, understandably panicking.

"Come on Luz, think, think!" She said as she reached into her pockets, looking for anything useful. She dropped her phone, a bag of snails, and a few other trinkets before pulling out... something...

It was the slime ball from this morning, it had hardened and dried out since this morning. She sighed. "How can I be a resourceful witch when I don't even know what to do with a dried-out slime ball!?"

"Slime ball?" Willow asked, having sat against the barrier and waiting for her fate to arrive. She looked towards her hands before her eyes lit up. "Luz! That's not a slime ball! It's a seed!" She went over to Luz and took the now-identified seed. "It's a rare one too! Magic induced, feels like it's an older one!" She said excitedly before going to her knees. She cupped the seed in her hands.

"Please... GROW!" She said, commanding the seed but... "Nothing happened?!" She asked. "Why didn't anything happen!?" She attempted to cast another spell. "My magic isn't working!" She groaned.

"Could it be the Lock-down Spell?" Luz asked.

"We've had lock-downs before, every time the spell was activated, we could still cast spells. This is something else, maybe a different source of magic?" Willow speculated.

Luz stroked her chin and paced, she then looked at her finger and focused and saw a small gold dot appeared at the tip of it. "I have an idea! OK, Willow, I still have my magic, teach me how to do the spell!"

Willow was taken back. "T- teach you!?"

"Yeah! I'm stronger than you think! I can get us out of here!" Luz said as she took the seed from her and copied her position. "Just tell me how!"

"A- alright, when it comes to seeds, they're basically like a sleeping kid! You need to jostle them awake and urge them to grow, this seed is barely there, you need to push only a little magic into it since it already has some! Be very, very careful or you'll kill it!" Willow said as she had Luz cup the seed in her hands. "Imagine it as a living breathing person and focus. You only need to urge it to grow!" Willow explained, wishing she could explain it better, but they were strapped for time.

Down the hallway, the girls heard running footsteps before Gus rounded the corner and saw them, he ran towards them. "Guys! My magic's not working and Emperor Belos is here! He activated the lock-down Spell! He's coming down the hall right now!"

Luz's eyes shook violently as she turned back to the seed. "All the more reason to hurry up! He can't find me here! I'll be in so much trouble!" Luz said as she focused in on the seed, closing her eyes and taking deep breaths. "Remember Luz, the seed wants to wake up, you just need to make the final push!" Willow encouraged, placing her hands on Luz's.

"Focus..." Luz said to herself. The world seemed to fall silent as she put her full focus on the seed and then...

Willows's eyes and Luz's eyes shot open, both glowing green as they both said, in unison, "Please, Grow!" They shouted as the seed erupted from their hands. Powerful vines shot in all directions, missing Gus, Willow, and Luz by a fraction of an inch, wrapping the entire school in greenery and disrupting the Runes being used to keep the lock-down spell active. The vines kept going and reaching just about everywhere in the school. Even the spires outside were wrapped in vines before it finally stopped growing... It bloomed marvelous flowers, all so beautiful and colorful.

Gus and Willow looked around. "Oh wow... This is some seriously strong magic, Luz..." Gus said as he looked towards the exhausted human. "Are all humans this strong?"

"N- no..." She said mid-pant, "Not like I did it by myself... Willow is the really strong one here!" Luz said as she got to her feet, almost falling if it wasn't for Willow catching her., "Yup, if it wasn't for your magic helping me, I'm sure I would've killed it."

Willow blushed at the compliments again before helping Luz stay standing. "N- No problem Luz..." She said before remembering. "Oh right! Luz, can you run? You still need to get out of here."

"I- I can barely stand, the spell really took it out of me..." She said with a deep breath. "I need more practice..." Luz said.

Luz was one foot out of the door when suddenly, the vines around them glowed blood red and they ensnared the group and lifted them off the ground.

"Impressive display of magic you've demonstrated, children," A cold voice said, Emperor Belos stepped closer to them with Bump behind him, inspecting the school, how the vines sprawled everywhere and displayed beautiful fauna and flowers. "Impressive indeed..." Bump commented.

"D- Emperor!" Luz said as she made no efforts to escape the vines. Willow and Gus were too scared to say anything. "I swear, I can explain!" She said.

"Explain then," Belos said, crossing his arms, "This story sounds quite entertaining. Come along." With that, Emperor Belos released Luz and her friends. "You two, stay here." He said to Willow and Gus. They nodded fast and sat down in place, scared to defy the Emperor.

Luz followed the Emperor to what was assumed to be the Principal Bumps office.

Luz was pushed inside the office by her father, he closed the door and cast a spell after Bump entered, soundproofing the room from any eavesdroppers. Looking up, Luz saw the face of her angry Mother.

"H- Hola, Mama..." She said with a nervous giggle as she stood straight.

"So, this is your daughter?" Bump asked, "The Princess?"

"Yes, this is my daughter," Camila confirmed, "Causando problemas como siempre!" Camila said, pinching and pulling Luz's ear. "Por qué hay enredaderas por toda la escuela?!" She yelled, in Spanish.

"OwOwOw! No fue mi culpa! I was just trying to get out of here before you and Dad caught me!" She responded in pain, her head jerked at an odd angle due to Camila's pulling.

Bump raised a brow. "You mean to tell me that you caused this overgrowth?"

Luz looked up at her, breaking free from her mother's grip and facing Bump, she quickly shook her head no. "No, I could never..." She quickly said. "I just lent my magic to help cast the spell, and I had to use most of my magic too! It was Willow who did most of the work she's the real talented one!"

"Willow... Park? The girl in the Abominations track?" Bump asked, stroking his chin. "The one from the Hallway..?"

"Yes! She's so good with plant magic and she hates being in the Abomination track! Socanyoumovehertotheplanttack!?" She asked quickly before clearing her throat. "Please."

"I may have to consider that, thank you for bringing this to my attention, Princess." Bump said with a nod.

Before Bump could say any more, the door swung open. Belos seemed to never have locked it. He rubbed his forehead, sighing and cursing his carelessness.

"Stop right there, you'll not have my apprentice and- Oh hi Emperor B, what are you and the Mrs. doing here?" Eda asked.

"Well, we did come here to enroll Luz to Hexside-" Camila began.

"Really!?" Luz asked excitedly.

"-but then we found out that she broke in with a student's help, cheated, tried to run away, and then caused all those vines to grow, presumably causing some damage to the security system." Belos finished.

"AHAHAH! That's my girl!" Eda said as she went up to Luz and ruffled her hair. "Causing Hexside trouble and destroying public property!" She said, "Couldn't be more proud." Luz blushed at the attention.

"Edalyn? You're the Princess's mentor?" Bump asked, surprised to see his most troublesome student from the past teaching royalty.

"Of course, even fought my sister for the right to teach her magic," Eda said proudly, tapping her staff on the floor. "I am the most powerful Wild Witch on the Isles after all! So it's only natural that I teach the next most powerful Witch!" She proclaimed with a hearty laugh.

Belos cleared his throat. "Right... Anyway, back to the business at hand..."

Principal Bump nodded, making two more chairs appear. "Take a seat, Edalyn, being her mentor, you'll want to hear this too." Everyone took their seats and looked at her.

"First, does Luz know any spells?" He asked.

Eda shook her head. "Yes, and No, she can make suns from light spells, but that's pretty much it."

"Yes, she can do magic but can't seem to control the amount of power she puts into each spell," Belos said, his staff shrinking away back into his hidden compartment in his gauntlet.

"Well, while I trust that the Emperor's lineage is more than competent and skilled, that would mean I'd have to put her in the baby's class until she can prove to me that she can perform to Spells."

"WHAT!?" Luz exclaimed, "I can totally perform more than two spells! Watch this!" Luz attempted to demonstrate but Eda stopped her, holding her wrist.

"Kid, you could kill us." She warned her, although Luz was a bit bumped at the truth.

"She'll need to cast those spells safely, might I add. While being able to share one's magic is a rare and valued ability to possess, I can't count it... on account of its rarity." Bump explained. "You do, however, have enough time to practice spells, Princess, till next semester."

Belos went to say something, but Camila could feel his anger building and held his shoulder tightly and squeezed, making him sit in his seat and stay silent. Only she could disable him with a single hand.

"We understand, you said by the beginning of next semester, correct?" She asked, Bump simply nodded a yes.

"Yes, that's less than a month away." He confirmed.

"Alright, thank you for your time Bump, we'll be on our way." With that, Camila dragged her husband out of the office before he could doom the principal with a horrible curse. Bump silently thanked the Empress for this.

As Luz and Eda were walking out of Bump's office to leave, Luz bumped into Amity in the hallway, consequently knocking them both down to the floor. "Ugh, always in the way!" Amity said instantly, standing up again and dusting herself off, tearing off vines as well. "So?" Amity asked.

"Soooo... What?" Luz asked for clarification.

"So, what happened in there?!" She yelled, putting her hands on her hips and leaning forward towards Luz.

"OH!" Luz snapped her fingers, realizing what she meant and noticing her obvious annoyance with Luz. "Good news! I'm coming to Hexside with you next semester!" She proclaimed, doing jazz hands.

Amity's eyes widened and her teeth were gritted, obviously in shock but mostly, absolute and utter anger at these circumstances.

"What!? You should've been banned! O- O- OR SOMETHING! How did you not even get into trouble!? Helping a student cheat, destroyed the security system runes, causing an uncontrolled overgrowth that nearly tore down the school's main spire and eye!" Amity's face was a bright red with rage at this point.

Luz was sweating under Amity's intense glare. "I- I wouldn't say we tore it down, look..."

Looking outside, the pair saw that the main tower cracked under the pressure of the giant vine that chocked it violently. The eye aimed at the vine and powered up, glowing magenta and firing a colored beam at it, turning the whole vine to ashes.

Luz laughed. "I- I'm sure some magic can fix that easily, right?"

Amity narrowed her eyes at Luz in contempt before taking a step back and took a breath. "Must be fun causing trouble and getting away with because you're the damn Princess... Stay away from me when you start next semester." She turned and stomped away, angry and annoyed at the circumstances.

"Amity, wait!" Luz attempted to reach Amity but a quick spell from her made a small wall of abominations block her path long enough for Amity to disappear around the corner.

Luz looked down, groaning. She felt as if befriending her just got a lot harder...

Eda then stepped next to Luz and placed a hand on her shoulder. "Oh don't worry about her, Kid. Come on, let's get back to the Owl House."

Teacher and student began walking back to the Owl House, side by side as Owlbert rested on Eda's shoulder, snoring soft coo's.

"So. you just wanted to see the school?" Eda asked, "You think I'm not teaching you fast enough?" Eda asked, but she didn't sound hurt or bothered.

"N- No, you're the best, Eda! Honest! Remember that slime ball you gave me?! Well, it was actually a seed! It helped me escape, well almost escape. Didn't know my Dad was there,"

"Of course I'm the best teacher, and I may not be able to teach you everything there is to know, on account of my methods, so I guess it's good you're going to Hexside, the more you know the better... You know, I went there myself." She said, remembering a time long since passed.

"Really? What was that like?" Luz asked, wanting to know more of Eda's mysterious past.

"Well, it was good, for the most past... Till the end..." She said, looking forward, remembering the final moments of her senior years at Hexside.

"Why? Did something happen?" She prodded further, wanting to know more.

"Well-"

Suddenly there was a thunder strike, interrupting her.

Luz looked up and shrugged. "Looks like rain... Not bad, I could use some, haven't seen rain since coming here."

"Wow, kid, I didn't you could survive in the boiling rain," Eda asked, casting a spell and casting an orange-hued barrier over her.

"...The what?" Luz asked.

"The boiling rain? The very rain that could melt your flesh off your bones?"

"Why does the Isle have that!?"

"Hey, not like we chose it to be that way! Hop on!" She said as she sat on her staff, sadly waking Owlbert from his cute nap. Luz did so and they flew off to the Owl House in record time to shield themselves from the Boiling rain.
