I was walking through the compound when I heard something coming from the nursery. I looked in that direction confused. I went towards Katherine's nursery and looked down to see one of the wolves protecting her room on the floor. Dead. My eyes widened and I ran into Katherine's room to see Rebekah standing over her crib.

"Bekah?" I asked confused. She turned to me and stared, shocked at me. "Get away from her!" I grabbed her arm to pull her away and slammed her head on the nearby dresser. She fell to the floor and I was at my daughter's side in a moment, but before I could grab her, I was thrown back into my bedroom. I was slammed against the wall and groaned in pain. "Nik!" I shouted and he was at my side in an instant. He looked towards the nursery and saw Bekah in the nursery.

"Rebekah! What are you doing?" Nik lunged for her, but she cast a pain infliction spell on him. I ran back to try and take her out, but she dropped me with the same spell. Nik and I were on our knees in front of her, but Nik forced himself to lean forward so he could scratch her thigh.

"AHHH!" she shrieked before letting go of the spell and jumping out the window. We jumped up and ran to Katherine's bed as she escaped. I picked her up and held her to me tightly.

"Nikolas!" I said worriedly and we rushed to Nikolas' room where he was sleeping peacefully in his bed. I sighed in relief and shared a worried look with Nik.

Later in that day, Nik, Marcel, Hayley and I were in Klaus' study as he pulled a pair of the magic-canceling manacles that Kol's witches enchanted in 1914. Nikolas and Katherine were playing close by so we could keep an eye on them.

"I should really stop packing these away," Nik sighed. "There's always one family member or another in need of a good shackling." He handed the manacles to Marcel. "Find Rebekah- or Eva, or whoever the bloody hell that was- use these to stop her from doing magic. And don't hurt her. The non-psychopathic bits are still my sister."

"Alright, I won't be the only one looking for her," Marcel told us.

"What do you mean?" I asked him.

"She killed witch-kids. The twenty-four hour hold that Elijah got the covens to agree to? Ended at midnight. Every witch in the city is gonna be gunning for her," he explained and I sighed.

"Go to Elijah," Nik ordered Hayley. "Get him to charm his elderly witch into calling off the hunt."

"I'll go with her," I told them.

"And leave the kids?" she asked him. "Don't you think I should stay here and protect your family with the wolves?"

"Call Jackson," I told her. "You've both been working night and day to make sure the compound is safe for them."

"Yes, by surrounding it with your werewolf army," Nik reminded her. "Not to mention the fact that I'm here, and I know the best way to protect my children is to get Rebekah out of that serial killer's body and back into the original model."

"Hmm. And, what will you be doing while we're out doing all the dirty work?" Hayley asked him.

"Why, tending to the even dirtier work, as usual," Nik told us.

I stood in the Larue mansion in my usual attire with Hayley while Elijah and Gia were all dressed up.

"Is it just me, or are we underdressed?" I asked her, but she was just staring at the two vampires. I sighed as she once again cleared her throat awkwardly, which didn't go unnoticed by any of us. After an uncomfortable silence, Gia finally spoke up.

"...I'm gonna see if I can find Josephine."

"Please," I nearly begged with a smile. I looked at Hayley as she cleared her throat again before giving Elijah a significant look. He smiled bashfully in response as we waited for our hostess.

"Well, now I see why you didn't answer my calls," Hayley said and I really wished I was anywhere but here. Hayley sat in a chair and looked up at Elijah. "Did she have to come with us?" Elijah sat next to her, looking uncomfortable.

"Josephine LaRue can be rather recalcitrant. She is, however, enamored with Gia's musical prowess and cavalier spirit," Elijah explained.

"Huh. So, the Baby-Vamp is now the Witch-Whisperer?" Hayley asked and Elijah smiled with a sigh. "I'm just glad that you found someone so... multi-talented to spend your time with..."

"What exactly do you want from me?" Elijah asked her rolling his eyes.

"Please have your lover's spat somewhere else," I begged them. "We have a crazy witch after my children and this one we can't kill." Before either of them could answer, Gia and an older woman, Josephine I could only imagine, joined us in the living room and Elijah rose to greet her.

"Madame LaRue," Elijah greeted.

"Mr. Mikaelson." Elijah gently kissed her on each cheek in greeting before she settled down in an armchair to speak with us.

"Have you come to impress me once more with young Gia's rare talents?" she asked before noticing Hayley and I. "What, pray tell, do these two do?"

"These two rip peoples heads off and have major anger management issues," I told her sarcastically. Sort of.

"These two are family, Madame," Elijah told her smiling. Hayley just smiled tightly at Josephine and stayed silent. "But, we've come to ask for a favor." Josephine looked at him curiously. "We need you to extend your hold on Eva."

"Why?" she asked curiously.

"She's taken over her body and disappeared," I told her. "We have some of our guys trying to find her right now."

"If Eva is in control again then, you need to let the witches put that body down! Eva will use up your sister, just like she did the others," she told us.

"The others?" Hayley asked her confused.

"She kidnapped our children off the street. It started two years ago," she told us and I sighed. "Eva was a wild beauty practicing a wild magic. But, she and Vincent were so happy, we let them be."

"And then the children began to disappear," Elijah sighed.

"The first was a young girl named Amelie Dupree from Algiers. Then, Lou-Anne Hughes from the 9th, Nicholas Alseis from the Tremé." She listed off. "All these children were young witch prodigies who just vanished into thin air. Vincent put together a group of young men from each coven to try and find them, but she'd cloaked the children all their locator spells were useless. But, because of Vincent's tenacity, she was caught. She only needed three more children."

"Three more for what?" I asked her.

"To complete the Rite of Nines," she told me.

"The Rite of Nines?" Gia asked.

"Eva thought if she could sacrifice a witch from each of the nine covens, it would create a new witch order in New Orleans. She would have been more powerful than any Elder, Harvest girl, even the Regent."

"But why kids?" Hayley asked.

"A child's magic is untapped, pure. They're all easier to subdue than a grown adult," she explained.

"Which is why she went after Katherine," I sighed.

"She would have killed your daughter, channeled her powers, as she did with those other poor children," Josephine told me. "We never found the children she took. They all died unconsecrated, unable to be with their ancestors and used as a source for Eva's magic."

"Then help us," I told her. "Help us find her and put an end to this."

"We agree she must be stopped- no more of our youth will die," she said rising to her feet as we did. "That is why, Mr. Mikaelson, I will not extend your twenty-four hours." I shared a stunned and horrified look with Elijah and Hayley. "Eva Sinclair now has a bounty on her head."

"You would condemn my sister to her death?" Elijah asked her, outraged.

"I dislike the term "collateral damage," but there it is. If one or two must fall to take Eva down for good? So be it," Josephine told her.

"I assure you, Madame LaRue, we will defend your witches with a fearsome vengeance," he tried assuring her.

"You have a wonderful way with words. Really. Your cadence is pleasant. Normally, I could listen to it all day long, but I grow tired of this. My mind remains unchanged."

"Are you serious?" Hayley asked her. Josephine looked at her, mildly offended by her outburst.

"In order to get that 24-hour hold, she's put on a talent show and he's got every vampire in the Quarter kissing your ass," I nearly shouted in her face. "And your final answer is "screw you"?"

"Nicole-" Gia tried to calm me down and I gave her a look.

"Not now," I told her. "Eva went after my daughter. The least you can do is help us help you."

"We came here to honor the alliance between us," Elijah said trying to mediate between the two of us. "If this is something you wish to rescind, so be it." Elijah turned to leave and the three of us were about to follow him when Josephine, who'd gotten angry, stopped us.

"Don't you dare walk into my house and threaten me!" she ordered. "I am not the one that needs you, Elijah Mikaelson- it is you who needs us. Or, you will soon enough." Josephine turned and grabbed my wrist roughly.

"What's to come will be the worst betrayal, but is nothing compared to what will happen," she told me. "When I peer into your future, there is a blackness that should terrify you." Josephine continued to stare at me as I looked at her worriedly.

When we got back to the compound, Marcel told us Vincent had joined his wife in hunting down witch kids. I had Katherine in my arms and I kept Nikolas in the room with me. I gently bounced her on my hip as I paced anxiously.

"Great! Eva is in the wind, although now she has a sidekick," Hayley said.

"The charming Vincent Griffith," Elijah muttered.

"It gets worse-" Marcel sighed. "If Eva has Davina, then she has eight of the witches she needs to finish the ritual." I shared a look of horror with Elijah. "She just needs one more."

"Look, I love Rebekah, but if Eva comes after one of my children again, I'll put her down myself," I warned them.

"Fortify this house. When they do come- kill him, capture her," Elijah ordered.

"Capture?" Hayley asked incredulously.

"I will not abandon my sister!" Elijah said seriously.

"I don't want to abandon her any more than you do, but I won't allow Eva to kill my kids," I told him. "Capture her if you can, but if she gets past the wolves and gets to me. I won't show any mercy."

"I'll gather what wolves I can," Hayley told us.

"With Vincent by her side, she will strike with considerable force," Elijah said.

After what felt like hours, I paced around the courtyard while Katherine and Nikolas slept in a playpen together.

"There's still no sign of them," I sighed. "What the hell are they waiting for?" Suddenly, Marcel returned to the compound and joined us in the courtyard.

"She didn't wait," Marcel told us. "She took Josephine LaRue not half an hour ago."

"And if Eva doesn't need Katherine or Nikolas, then she's probably where all the kids are," I sighed in annoyance.

"Where she took Davina," Marcel added.

"A place no one has been able to find for two years," Elijah finished. Marcel's phone rings and he scowled before answering it.

"When I find you, I am going to rip your head from your neck," Marcel threatened.

"You may want to hold off on that decapitation- I found them all," I heard Vincent say. "Davina's alive." Marcel looked at us stunned and I smiled.

"That could mean all the kids are alive."

"Sorry, I had to make it look convincing! If you were in on the plan, Eva would have known," Vincent apologized.

"Yeah, blasting me through a couple glass doors really sold it. Alright, round of applause. Now what?" Marcel asked him.

"Now, we got a problem," Vincent told us and my smile fell. "These kids, they're all linked to her. If she dies, they all die."

"So, we'll find a witch to unlink them," Marcel told him.

"Gonna need somebody with some serious power." Marcel sighed and looked at us before hanging up the phone. Elijah nodded and he and I left the room together.

"I can use you as my anchor. I'll channel your power while I breach Eva's mind," I heard Freya tell Nik as Elijah and I made our way to them.

"And there it is," Esther said. "The price. If she channels you, she will have access to your mind, past and present. She will know everything about you." I watched as Nik considered the two conflicting statements as he paced around.

"All of my strategies and all of my secrets laid bare to give to Dahlia," Nik said turning to face Freya. "You must think I'm a fool."

"Unless it's not a trick," Elijah suggested as we walked up behind them. "I'll be the anchor."

"Brother, I think not," Klaus told him incredulously.

"Brother, whatever this is, nothing must prevent us from saving our sister. I will not lose Rebekah," Elijah told him getting annoyed.

"Oh yes, by all means, let's give Dahlia's whelp access to all the information she needs to destroy us!" Nik told him and I noticed Freya becoming infuriated by Nik's paranoia when she gripped the chain that linked her shackles.

"If she's going to betray us then I'd rather have Rebekah on our side when it happens!" I told him.

"And since when do we heed the words of this serpent?" Elijah asked pointing at Esther.

"ENOUGH!" Freya suddenly yanked her arms away from her body, easily breaking through the magic-proof shackles and allowing her access to her magic again. She held up her hand and twisted her wrist, which snapped Nik's neck and caused him to fall unconscious to the floor. Elijah looked at Freya, stunned and confused. Freya turned to Nik's unconscious body. "For an upgraded model, you're not very sharp." She walked over to us. "Let's go." I went to Nik's side and caressed his cheek.

"I'm sorry," I said to him before following Elijah and Freya out of the tomb.

Freya, Elijah, Marcel, and I made our way to Eva's hideout where Vincent was waiting for us. Marcel carried Eva in his arms as we walked towards the magic circle, that had a triangle in it, made of salt and herbs Freya had set up in the middle of the warehouse. At each point is a lit white candle.

"Lay her inside the salt, and lie on either side of her," Freya instructed Marcel and Vincent. "Each of you take her hand." She ordered before turning to me and Elijah. "I will act as a bridge into her mind, but I'm trusting you to anchor me, brother."

"Do what you need to do," Elijah told her. Marcel laid Eva down on the floor in the middle of the triangle, and then he and Vincent laid next to her and looked up at Freya for further instructions.

"Rebekah is buried deep. Eva will not give her up without a fight," Freya warned.

"Then she gets a fight," Marcel told her determined.

"Be careful. You're entering Eva's mind. If she kills you in there, you will be lost," Freya told them and Marcel looked worried. "And, if you kill her before you free Rebekah, then Rebekah will be gone forever. Once you have Rebekah, then, and only then, can Eva be dealt with."

"We got it," Vincent told her taking a deep breath. Vincent and Marcel each laid on their backs and held her hands. Freya knelt beside Vincent.

"You'll need a weapon." She pulled Eva's knife out of her book and held it out to the man, who looked at her confused.

"How am I supposed to take that with me?"

"Lamina ferri in mentem. Lamina ferri in mentem," Freya chanted clutching the knife. Once she was done she grimaced at the man. "This... is going to hurt." She stabbed Vincent in the arm with the knife and he screamed in pain, but then fell unconscious, as does Marcel. Once they're asleep, Freya stood and walked towards Elijah, who held out his hand toward her. She took it, and they each gripped onto each other's elbows.

"If either of you need me, I'm right here," I told them. They both nodded before nodding to each other, indicating that they're ready to begin.

"Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus," Freya chanted loudly. As Freya chanted, she was so overwhelmed by the power of the spell that her back arched as her head was thrown back, and Elijah had to hold onto her with much of his strength to keep her from falling. "Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus." As Elijah gripped onto Freya's arm as tightly as he could, I watched MArcel's closed eyes began to twitch and, suddenly, blood started to drip from them. Elijah was struggling so hard to hold onto Freya, who was still chanting the spell, that he yelled in frustration at the top of his voice. I turned back to the boys on the ground and watched as Vincent's body started to shake. "Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus." She looked at the two of us and the fear filling her face scared me. "I'm losing them!"

"Let me help," I told her. She grabbed my arm and I held onto her with all my strength as she chanted. Suddenly, Nik appeared between me and Elijah and grabbed our hands completing a large circle to anchor Freya better, who looked at him in shock.

"We're not finished, you and I. But, for right now? Save my sister," he ordered. Freya nodded and began to shout her incantation again.

"Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus. Pontem praesidio. Anchora immortalibus." Suddenly, both boys gasped themselves awake and force of the spell as it broke pushed the four of us away from each other, which seemed to relieve the exhausted Freya. Marcel immediately sat up and looked over at Freya's body, which was still laying unconscious on the floor. Freya, Nik, Elijah and I surrounded the pair and Marcel looked up at us worried.

"Did it work?" Nik asked anxiously. I heard Davina's voice in the next room and Marcel went to her side immediately.

"They're okay!" Marcel shouted to us. I bit into my wrist and offered it to Vincent. He pushed my arm away as he tended to his arm and Elijah walked over to Eva's body. Nik grabbed my hand tightly as we watched Eva's still body.

"Why isn't she waking?" Nik asked Freya. The witch shook her head desperately, as though to prove she had no intention of anything bad happening to Bekah. Suddenly, the girl on the floor woke with a gasp and sat straight up, and we looked down at her warily, unsure at whom we were looking at. After a moment, she sighed and smiled up at us.

"Bloody hell!" Bekah said and I grinned down at her. I fell to my knees and hugged her tightly as we laughed.

At the compound, I was standing next to Bekah as she stared up at her portrait on the wall. She sighed in exhaustion and I wrapped my arm around her waist and placed my hand on her shoulder. She leaned her head on mine as we stared at her portrait. I felt her turn her head and looked to see Nik drinking from a bottle of scotch.

"What? You're not fishing for a thank-you, I hope," she joked and he smiled before offering me his hand. I took it and unwound myself from Bekah to stand beside both of them.

"I'd find myself freezing in hell before I got one from you!" Nik laughed and Bekah smirked up at him. "Well, come on, then- let's get you back in your proper body! Though, I'll likely have to torture Freya and Esther to do so. Which, actually, might be quite fun." Bekah looked up at him nervous and hesitated for a moment before speaking.

"No, Nik. I'm staying put." Nik and I shared a confused look. "Eva's gone for good, but her body- this body- is still linked to Davina and those children. I can feel it. Now, if I leave it, then it dies, and Davina and the others die with it."

"So-bloody-what?" Nik asked her and I smacked his arm.

"Davina's a sweetheart," I told him. "And she was important to Kol. She's as close as being family as anyone else Hayley is."

"And I happen to like Davina! I'm not about to let her die," Bekah told him. Nik smiled at the two of us. "Besides, do you really want the wrath of every New Orleans witch just as Dahlia arrives? We need them on our side- or, at the very least, not siding against us," Bekah sighed. "And, there's also the matter of Kol. I vowed I'd bring him back- I can't even attempt to do that if I'm not a witch." Nik sighed and paused for a moment before speaking again.

"Freya's been inside my head. She knows my secrets," he said and I tightened my hand in his.

"So, she knows you go very far for very few. So-bloody-what? Niklaus, just for one second, can we just be what we need to be? A family united?" Bekah asked and Nik sighed before caressing her cheek with his hand.

"For now- for you," he smiled down at her and the two closed their eyes and bumped their foreheads together for a brief moment before he kissed her on the forehead and the two of us headed for the front door.

"Nik?" Nik and I stopped but didn't turn around. "Thank you." I smiled up at Nik before the two of us left the house.

The various New Orleans covens, along with my family, Hayley, and Gia gathered at the compound, where Josephine presented Freya with a necklace with a turquoise pendant. Josephine fastened the necklace around Freya's neck, and everyone smiled happily. I looked up at Nik on a nearby staircase before looking back at Freya. I joined everyone in applauding in her honor as Freya gave Josephine a hug. She turned to the Elijah, Bekah, and I and hugged the three of us tightly.

"You're one of us, now. New Orleans is your home," Josephine told her and Freya turned back to her. "Your friends are our friends; your enemies, ours." I placed my hand on her arm and she turned to me.

"Welcome to the family, Freya Mikaelson."
