Luz tossed and turned in bed. Why was it so hot? Why did she feel like she was back in her home in Texas? It was so hot…

Luz groaned and rose from the bed. She rubbed her eyes and looked around, she rose from her bed and walked up to her mirror, the new one her dad used to replace the cursed one he stored here. She rubbed her eyes and stared at herself and waited for…

"…" Luz stared at herself, waiting for the shimmer and Zul to appear to bother her. "Zul? You there?" Luz asked no one, in particular, she then looked around the room she was in. "Que en el nombre de Dios…?" She asked herself as she walked around the room to get dressed.

It was exactly like her old room back in the Human realm, with the addition of several items and additions. Her posters were all the same, but one was of Lilith, only this time she was dressed as… As a cop? Police chief maybe. She was a decorated officer, that much was true. She had a line of officers behind her and the words "Defend our beautiful town! Report what you see!" In golden font. Another poster was of Azura and the other suspects. Such as Sev'ral Times and other boy bands.

"Am I dreaming?" Luz asked herself as she felt herself. "No, it feels too real…" She then heard a knock on the door.

"Mija? Are you awake?" Camila asked, tapping at the door. "You slept in! Hurry up and get dressed so you can eat, your father and I need to get to work and I'm sure you need to get to school! Unless you wanna walk again!" She shouted to her on the other end, Camila was then heard walking away.

"Something is terribly wrong…" Luz said to herself.

Quickly, she got her usual set of clothing on, looking around the room, she saw her messenger bag. Carefully, she opened the bag and reached inside. Pulling out her personal spellbook, an empty potion bottle, and a wanted poster for Eda.

"Mija!?" Camila called from downstairs.

"Y- Yeah! ¡Estoy en camino!" She shouted back, stuffing the things back in her bag, she slung it over her shoulder. She didn't know what was going on, but she would get to the bottom of it. She slipped on the final piece, her medallion, but looking at it, it was obviously different. It looked like a simple gold pendant now...

Leaving her room and looking at the hall, she took in the walls and the pictures hanging on them, she stopped in front of one of them and took it down, and looked at it.

"Dad?" She asked.

Looking at the picture, it was a family portrait. Her father was dressed in a navy-blue suit. His hair was grayed over, as usual. It was longer than normal. Usually, he kept it short and undone, as he was wearing a cowl and mask most of the time. But here, it was styled and looked nice. Looking elsewhere, she and her mother were dressed in matching golden dresses. They were smiling and all looked so happy…

"We look so normal here…" She commented with a puzzled face.

"Are we supposed to look like anything else?"

Luz jumped five feet in the air and turned to face the voice.

It was her father, he was dressed in a nice dark grey suit with a golden tie and a black vest. A nice 3-piece suit. Luz noticed the Emperor's coven pin over his heart.

"… Dad?" She asked, confused.

"Of course, who else would I be?" Alexander asked as he went over and ruffled Luz's hair. "Come on sweetie, you're going to be late, and your mother made breakfast. I need to get to the office."

"The office?" She asked.

"The mayor's office? The one I won in a landslide election?" He adjusted the pin on his shirt and walked past her, looking, Luz saw that it was an Emperor's Coven emblem. Luz stared at his back before carefully placing the family portrait back onto the wall.

"Honestly, Luz, you shouldn't stay up so long, staring at your phone. It's doing things to your head." Alexander commented as he continued to lead the way to the kitchen. "So your mom has a meeting at the hospital-"

"The Hospital? I thought she quit being a nurse months ago?" Luz asked. As one of the many bridges they burned coming here, Camila quit working at the hospital. Two-week notice of course.

"She did, years ago actually when you were born, hun. You know how bored she's been working as my assistant, lately. She finished getting her doctorate in medicine earlier this year, remember? Are you sure you're alright? You seem to be forgetting a lot of things, lately. Oh, what it's pneumonia again?"

"No!" She said quickly, "I'm just… Groggy! Yeah, groggy! Sorry, Dad, I swear I'm fine!" She assured her father as she ran past and entered the kitchen.

A noticeable difference from her old home, the kitchen was significantly larger, large enough for a kitchen table, and around the corner, a dining table.

Luz remembered how her mother would always complain about the size of their house but make no move to find a bigger one. Saying that there was nowhere else they could go.

Looks like her wishes were granted.

Camila turned, she was wearing an apron over light blue scrubs and a medical ID doctor badge.

"The trouble duo of mine finally joins the fray. We got to eat quick, guys. Ms. Hele is giving me orientation after being out of the field for so long and I wouldn't want to make my new hospital director angry." She slid two plates, with food on them, onto the table and went over to Alexander and handed him his mug of coffee.

Still holding the mug, she went on her toes and gave him a peck on the lips.

"Good morning, Mi Amor…" She said as Alexander wrapped his arms around her and squeezed.

"Good morning, my perfect sunflower…" They kissed again and Luz nearly gagged. One thing hasn't changed…

Looking down at her plate of food… She saw that she was being served tentacles and eyeballs. She deadpanned at this.

"Oh, the food hasn't changed, though…" Luz said, stroking her chin. They gave her a great idea.

"Uh mom, why are there tentacles and eyes on my plate?" Luz asked, picking up her plate and showing it to her mother. The plan was to see if her parents were playing a prank or to see their reaction to them.

Camila took one glance at the plate before raising an eyebrow at the teenager in question.

"That's bacon and eggs, Mija." She said with a deadpan tone.

"What?" Luz looked at the plate and saw that it was indeed bacon and eggs on her plate. "WHAT!?" She shouted at no one in particular. She slammed the plate on the table, making bacon and eggs fly in the air before they landed on the table. "Something is WRONG here!" She yelled.

"Luz!" Camila exclaimed, "What has gotten into you?!" She asked as she picked up pieces of bacon and eggs from her hardwood table. "Next you're gonna forget about cheerleading practice…" Camila commented.

"Cheerleading what?" Luz asked. Suddenly her pants rung. "My phone? I thought it was busted?" Luz asked herself as she pulled out her very much intact phone and read the message.

"Practice at three… from coach Fera… I'm on the cheerleader team?" She asked in disbelief. "Fera? Isn't that the head of the Beast Coven?"

"Luz," Belos put a hand on Luz's shoulder, "When you got on the team, you were ecstatic since you've been trying for so long. How could you forget that?" He asked as he stood up. "Are you certain that you're alright?"

Luz was silent for a moment, not knowing how to answer the question. "I… I don't…"

Camila's watch beeped a few times, looking at it, she read the message that scrawled across the small screen. "Looks like there was a crash, they need me sooner than expected. I'll see you in a few hours after work." She told Belos. She gave Belos a kiss and Luz was deep in thought as she followed her mother to her car, grabbing her jacket on the way out.

Luz thought to herself, trying to think why any of this was happening. Searching her memories, Luz remembered certain details that she was pretty sure weren't right. She remembered going to school here, at Hexside High, she remembered Gus and Willow, and no one had pointed ears, either! There were no demons or monsters around here and the entire Town of Bonesborough didn't resemble a giant Titan rib cage.

Covens were… Covens were the way schools worked? There was a construction track, Plant track… No, that wasn't the names, it was the architecture course and the agricultural course… Beast keeping was an animal handling course and so on for the other Covens.

In the car, Luz found herself in a familiar uncomfortable situation. One she hadn't experienced since being expelled. Where, her mother was silent, and she didn't know what to say to her.

"Luz…" Camila began.

"Mom, I know what you're going to ask and I'm 95% sure I'm fine!"

"Be quiet, Mija," Camila silenced her, "I don't know what's gotten into you this morning, I just hope it won't get in the way of your school life, you're the one who wanted to study everything at once after all." She said with a laugh. "My little cariño wanting to do everything for our community just like her father…"

"Everything… for our town…? Can you explain that to me again?" Luz asked.

Camila gave her a raised brow.

"Well… When you graduate from Hexside, you get a job in town based on what you studied, based on that, Town Hall gives you a position suitable for your expertise and grades, the better you are, the better the position... Then others just settle down and open up restaurants and stores if they want…" Luz absorbed all the information, nodding before turning to her mother.

"Mom… Do we not get to leave town after we graduate?" She asked, not understanding.

"Why would you want to?" Camila asked, "There's nothing beyond the borders for us anymore." She said hypnotically as she took a sip of her coffee

Luz was silent at her words… There was nothing beyond the borders? What does that mean? Did something happen and their town was the only thing left?

While Luz stared out the window, they seem to have finally pulled up to the school.

"Luz, you're obviously not feeling yourself today, if you're feeling off or anything like that, call me… Stay safe and out of trouble," Camila said as she leaned forward, kissing Luz on the forehead. "I love you, cariño."

"I love you too, Mami," Luz said as she climbed out of the car with her bag over her shoulder. Her mother drove away, leaving Luz in front of the grandiose school of Hexside. It was a public school with an impressive track record.

A rugby and football team that always won against the town's sister/rival school, Uncast-Direct. They focused more on the tech side of the Isles if Luz remembered, she remembered her father saying the Inventor of Smart Scrolls came from Uncast-Direct.

"Why is any of this happening…?" She asked herself as she looked around, seeing fellow students entering the school, while she stood in front of the building. Baffled beyond belief of this situation.

"I'm… The princess from the Boiling Isles, I know none of this is real, but why does this all feel real… Was my entire life on the Isles a lie? A dream? Worse, a hallucination?" Luz questioned her sanity.

"Hoot."

Luz's ears perked and turned around to find the source of the hoot.

All she could see were other students, talking and walking into the school or others, sitting on the steps, and discussing things like school or the upcoming school dance.

Looking a bit more, she looked up at a tree and saw-

"Owlbert! Buddy!" She called out and ran to the tree, she tried to get him to come down, putting her arm out for him to perch on, but he remained in the tree, looking at her questionably.

"Hmmm… Oh, wait," She recalled something before reaching into her messenger bag and pulling out a baggie labeled "Owlbert's snacky snacks".

The Owl seemed to recognize her, or better yet, the snacks in her hands. Flapping open his wings, Owlbert glided down to Luz, perching on her forearm as Luz fed him some Owl treats. "I knew you couldn't resist…" She scratched his head and looked at him more closely.

Usually, Owlbert felt like animated wood, hell he was made of the stuff after all but now… but now he felt like, feathers. Soft, honest to Titan feathers.

"How does it feel being alive buddy…?" Luz asked as she petted his head.

"Luz!" Someone called, scaring Owlbert, he flew off and into the sky before flying away.

Luz watched him go before turning and dodging a mad dash hug from…

"Amity?" Luz dodged another grab from the minty green assailant, "What are you doing?"

"What? Can't hug your girlfriend?" Amity asked.

"HUH? My what!?" Luz asked, accidentally yelling. Now she knows this had to be an odd nightmare she was in. She could never see herself dating Amity… No matter how cute she was, their personalities clashed too much to get anywhere… Besides, Luz was sure Amity despised her.

"Luz, we've been dating for like, 3 months now." Amity said, crossing her arms, "You're still wearing my letterman jacket, too. From Friday's game," She pointed out.

"What?" Looking down, Luz saw the jacket she grabbed this morning was indeed a letterman with the initials A.B. on it. Looking back, Luz chuckled nervously.

"Would you believe me when I say that I don't remember us dating at all these last three months?" Luz asked.

"What are you talking about? You're not gonna make me reenact that entire scene, are you? It was embarrassing." Amity said, placing her hand on her hips with a look that said, "you better remember".

"…" Luz stayed silent before clearing her throat. "Of course I'd never forget… I just want to hear again how I got such… A spectacular girl like…" Luz paused, feeling embarrassment and guilt arising in her chest before she stared at Amity.

"Ok I can't lie to you, I don't remember us being a thing at all, because we never were a thing. Amity, you have to remember your life in the Isles, you know? How I saved you from falling to your death at the Covention? You know, with magic? Your abominations?"

Amity's face seemed to be confused for a moment before she was seen clutching her head. She hissed in slight pain before sighing in aggravation, "What in Titan's name… Is going on…?" She asked as Amity's form shook, vibrating violently as if she was a glitching program on a TV.

"Princess?" Amity asked, she looked like she was in a great deal of pain. "You… You need to get us out of-" Amity suddenly let out a painful scream before time itself stopped, the sky darkening and rumbling with lightning. Amity's screaming form was frozen in time.

"Nono, Princess, I don't think so~ You're not getting out that easy~," A familiar voice sang.

"Zul?!" She asked, spinning around, and looking for the evil mirror demon, "Are you doing this!?"

"Of course I am! It's so fun to toy with you like this, I can't seem to figure out why you aren't being affected by the spells' effects, however, I suspect that it's probably because you cast the first part of it." Zul said but she was speaking from seemingly everywhere.

"Why are you doing this? What… What spell did I cast?" Luz asked, clutching her head in pain. She couldn't remember… Zul wasn't letting her remember...

"Hun, you cast an Illusion spell at full power and lost control…" A rip in space-time showed Luz attempting an illusion spell with Eda and it going Haywire before it closed again.

"Usually it would be harmless and wear away after a while but I saw an opportunity! I cast a spell from within the mirror, using most of my reserved magic I've saved for years, but I control it all now!" Zul suddenly appeared, except she was as tall as a skyscraper. She stomped her foot next to Luz, scaring her and making her fall on her backside.

"And in here, you're the one who's my copy…" Zul then shrunk to the size of Luz, pinching Luz's cheek, "But then I quickly realized that, while I was a Titan here, I was still greatly limited. So I crafted this town, using your memories as a guide and put you right in the middle of it all…"

"In… In the middle?" Luz asked, getting back to her feet.

"You know, head of the cheer team, loving home with Mom and Dad with a great big home and rich, you know? just like you always wanted and also…" She came next to Amity and held the mint-haired girl by her chin, turning Amity's head to face Zul, who was dangerously close. "Even this smoking hot girl as your girlfriend, captain of the… Football team? Whatever that thing is." Zul got dangerously close to Amity, "This Blight is quite attractive..."

"Stop touching her!" Luz shouted as her eyes narrowed with intense hate and disdain towards Zul.

"Or what, Princess? Gonna ask me nicely to stop and stay put inside of my mirror?" She asked with a laugh, before stepping up to Luz, coming in close to her, their identical faces inches apart. "You don't know what it's like to be in that pocket dimension, alone, for a thousand years, maybe I'll throw you in there after I take full control…" She giggled, suddenly disappearing before appearing behind Luz, whispering.

"You know, I could never take over your fathers' mind, too many wards and an iron will to match but you… You're weak… Nothing like your father in any way at all!" She laughed evilly before sighing, taking a step back, and crossing her arms, Luz faced her quickly.

"Weak and pitiful, little Princess of the Boiling Isles, Luz Noceda Belos… But I digress! I say that…" She checked an imaginary watch, which was actually just her own bleeding carved skin, in the shape of a watch. "…By the end of this day, you'll fall under the effects of your own spell and then I can move in and take your body, you won't remember me at all! Which means you'll definitely say yes to my possession without question!" She said, almost giddy at the possibility of being truly free.

"And then, I'll shatter my mirror in your father's study, and finally I'll be free again at full power! You are already forgetting about your old life! Bits and pieces but more than enough, good luck and, don't try to cause any havoc, I can fix things faster than you can break them." She said as she walked back to Amity, leaning against her.

"So how about you enjoy your time here? I promise, as long as you behave, your new life here will be so lovely…" Zul said, laughing before stroking a hand along Amity's cheek before staring at Luz and giving her a wink and snapping her fingers. The loud snap echoed throughout the entirety of the town before the clouds cleared and Zul disappeared.

Amity groaned, holding her head before looking at Luz with a brimming smile. "H- hey Luz! Sorry about that, you know how I've been having those splitting headaches! How about we walk to Alternate Sciences together?" She asked, Luz would later realize that Alternate Sciences was the Abomination Track.

Luz was too shocked at the moment to move.

'I'm gonna be stuck here forever with Zul in the real world… If I don't figure out how the heck to get out of here, and prevent Zul from going free…' She thought, sweating nervously as she stepped back from Amity. She needed to do something, and she wasn't gonna do it here, wasting time in school.

"I- I actually don't feel like going to class today…" She stepped back. "B- bye Amity! Try not to fall behind without me!" Luz said, winking at her and turning around. She shook her head. "Why'd I say that!? Why'd I wink… That's not you, Luz! keep it together!" She said to herself before running away, a few slips of paper falling out of her bag.

"Luz, wait! Your-" It was too late, however, she had already rounded the corner.

Amity sighed as she crouched down and picked up the papers. "Oh Luz… What has gotten into you…?" She asked softly as she accidentally pressed one of the papers.

Suddenly, the paper crumbled into itself and formed a small ball of light.

"It's… It's beautiful…" She said as she lifted her hand and stared at the small light, the ringing in her ear became louder and louder before a sudden shattering noise could be heard.

"I remember…" She whispered, turning, and running into the school, writing things on slips of paper, her ears becoming pointed again.

Luz turned the corner aggressively, skidding and almost falling over by the way she skidded on her heels and continued to run. Searching through her fabricated memories, she learned the path to one of her afterschool hangouts.

As she ran, she couldn't help but notice all the residents of the Isles, they were either turned into humans or just straight-up animals now. She encountered an example of this when she bumped into Little Nose, the Red-Headed conspiracist demon she's seen around. She was shouting about how this was all fake and simulation. At least she wasn't wrong this time…

Finally, Luz's target location came into sight.

"The Owl Café…" Luz said with a smile as she stared up at the café. It had wooden tables and chairs outside and seating inside as well. It even had a bar where she could see Eda, gray hair, and all. She was pouring a hot cup of coffee too who knows who while speaking.

Luz jumped into the street, quickly and half-hazardously, narrowly missing any cars and entering the Café, slamming the door open.

"EDA! HELP!" Luz shouted, looking crazy.

"Gah! Kid! I told you before if you're gonna slam the door, use the back entrance!" Eda scolded before turning to the customer she was serving. "Sorry about the kid, she thinks being the mayor's kid makes her invincible," Eda said as she went to the other end of the bar, Luz following her.

"Kid, shouldn't you be in school, what's up? Did something happen?" She asked, leaning against the counter. "Or did you want to ask me questions for your lady friend, the Blight? Nice catch, by the way…" Eda whispered, winking and nudging Luz. "Getting a rich girl, good job."

"It's not like that, Eda!" Luz said with a blush, climbing onto a stool in front of Eda. "Look, Eda, I need you to trust me with something… And I need to clarify that I am not crazy!" Luz prefaced as she pulled out a book from her bag.

Eda raised an eyebrow at her favorite customer/adoptive niece, throwing a questioning look at her but nodding anyways.

"Alright, kid, what's up?" She said, leaning forward to listen to Luz.

"Ok, so-" Luz began before there was a loud hoot.

"Oh, hold that thought!" Eda turned and faced a window, grabbing a staff that was leaning against the wall. It was wooden and had a little perch at the top.

Owlbert flew in, carrying a mouse in his beak as he flapped his wings before successfully perching on the staff Eda used to walk.

"Look! I thought, if an illness is gonna make these bones of mine rot away, might as well make the walking stick look cool!" Eda said as she scratched Owlbert's head as he ate the mouse.

'An illness? I guess since curses aren't a thing here…' Luz said as she looked at Eda and saw the graying hair that didn't look as powerful as it once did and the truly tired expression.

"Uhm… What's the illness again?" Luz asked.

"Oh, how could you forget, kid?" Eda asked as she leaned into her staff, "Doctors' say it's… A type of cancer, an aggressive strain too, eats away at the bones and such… But I'm fine! Anyways, what was it that you wanted to talk about, Kid? No need for us to be sad over what can't be fixed right now."

Luz nodded as she opened up the book, revealing it to be Luz's spellbook, any spell or tip she's learned, she's kept it in here. A coalition of her knowledge.

"Does any of this make sense to you at all?" Luz asked, showing Eda the images and the written spells, even a rather detailed drawing of Eda herself casting a fire stream spell.

"Well, other than a rather nice drawing of me doing… What is that magic? I don't recognize anything in your book. Why do you ask, kid? Is it some kind of FanFic about that Azura books you love so much?" She asked.

"What? No! I haven't written FanFics about Azura since- That's not the point! It's because everything in this book is real!" She said a bit too loudly for the people enjoying their morning coffee.

"Kid, I know you said that you're not crazy but…" Eda gestured to the book. "What are you even talking about?"

"I'm talking about The Boiling Isles! You know? Where you lived for like your entire life before taking me as your apprentice to teach magic because my dad, the Emperor asked you to? And because you knew that'd, I'd be great witch one day and you wanted the credit for it! How about Hooty? Do you remember him?"

Eda raised an eyebrow at her before slowly reaching under the counter and pulling out a door ornament of an Owl's face, Hooty's face, Luz recognized.

"Do you mean this thing you made at Hexside for me as a thank you for being your mentor, I still appreciate it very much, there's something odd about it that though, I can't put my finger on it though," Eda said, humming with thought.

As she said this, Luz heard muffled screaming. Listening, Luz could hear the wooden sculpture of Hooty screaming. She could also hear that it was screaming to be free.

"Oh my, Titan! Hooty? Are you in there?" Luz asked, taking the sculpture, and listening to the muffled screams of Hooty trapped inside of the wood. Even Hooty didn't deserve this torture.

"Kid, give me the sculpture," Eda said, not waiting for an answer as she took back the ornament, "Right… Listen, kid, I don't know what's gotten into you or what a Titan is, so I'm gonna ask you to be completely honest with me…" Leaning forward, Luz could see that Eda had a worried look about her.

"Eda, I'm not going crazy, I swear!" Luz said, grasping at straws at this point.

"You're making it hard to believe you right now," Eda said bluntly as she poured a cup of coffee for herself, taking a sip and cringing, "Too much acid… Won't be ordering these beans again…" She said as she put the pot back on the heat.

Luz groaned and let her head fall onto the bar table.

"I don't know what to do…" She mumbled.

"Princess!"

Luz's head shot up at the call of her title. Looking, she saw what appeared to be…

"Lord Lovelace?" She said, identifying the Illusion coven head, he was running towards the Owl Café at what appeared to be full tilt until a cop car, suddenly drove in between him and the Café. He was promptly stopped by the officers, one Luz recognized as Lilith.

Luz quickly ran outside.

"Kid, wait!" Eda tried to stop her but was already out the door.

"Hey! What are you doing to him?!" Luz shouted at them.

"Isn't that the Mayor's kid?" A bystander asked.

"What's she doing?" Another added.

"Luz!" Lilith asked, slapping cuffs onto Lord Lovelace. "What are you doing here? It's already 9, you should be in your second-hour class."

"Why are you arresting him!?" Luz asked.

"Sorry, kid, police business," Lilith said, not wanting to tell anything to her Boss's daughter.

"But he did nothing wrong!" Luz defended. Lilith raised a brow at her statement before looking at the forming crowd.

"Kid, are you alright?" That question again, "We've been looking for this man for the past few days."

"Don't worry Princess, I'll be fine, just- Be careful! I'll be at the station! Come find me!" Lord Lovelace said before the other arresting officer threw him into the back of the car.

"Shut up! You freakin' creep…" The officer commented.

"Luz… Do you know him?" Lilith asked, a concerned tone in her voice.

"Do… Do you not?" Luz asked, searching her memory. She did "remember", and remembering was a stretch for her current situation, that most of the Coven Head members were either high standing members of the Boiling Isles or worked for the Government. So why was Lord Lovelace a criminal here?

"Luz… Come with me to the station," Lilith said, slowly approaching Luz with a pair of cuffs.

"Why do I need to come with you?" Luz asked, taking a few steps back.

"Because you know the suspect of a series of crimes," Lilith said as she attempted to grab at Luz, but she dodged, jumping back, and taking a step back and away from Lilith.

"You know, honestly, I think I'm fine, metal bracelets aren't my thing!" Luz said with a nervous laugh before suddenly turning around and running into the Owl Café, Lilith giving chase.

"Kid!? Lily!?" Eda shouted, seeing Lilith and Luz running through her store.

"Sorry, Eda! Talk to you later!" Luz said as she ran out of the side door, Lilith quickly following after her.

Bursting into the alley, Luz looked around before going deeper into it, coming out on the side to another street, before she could run away further, something jumped at her chest, knocking her back.

"What the heck!?" She shouted as the thing dragged her behind a group of trash cans.

"Be quiet, Luz!"

"KING?" She whispered as King put his paw over her mouth and silenced her.

The two watched Lilith and her arresting officer ran through the alley and down the street. After a few moments of silence, Luz sighed and removed the paw from her mouth.

"Thanks, King, I appreciate-" She paused, her eyes widening at the sight of King. "Oh… My gosh..." She whispered before she attacked King in a tight hug. "You're so cute!"

It was true sadly, in this world, King had transformed from a bipedal dog-like demon into a black fox. Cat software running on dog hardware.

"Luz! Not now! I know something is wrong, cause now I'm… what even is this? It looks like a bastardized version of Fire Foxes!" He screamed, jumping out of her arms as he chased his now very floofy tail, more than usual, annoyed with it while Luz was currently enamored by the sight of it all.

"Luz, what happened back there!?" King asked.

"Huh?" She asked, perplexed at what he meant.

"You cast the wrong spell and now the entirety of the Boiling isles is under this illusion! I tried to jump into Eda's hair this morning and she screamed something about a wild fox…! It hurt…" He said, his ears flopping down to his skull.

"Oh, I'm sorry buddy…" She said as she picked up King in her arms and petted him securely, "But it wasn't my fault… Entirely, anyways…" She considered telling King the truth about Zul but decided against it…

"What are we gonna do? I tried to talk to that Amity girl you fought with a few days ago, but I just got Animal Control called on me." King said with a huff.

Luz perked at his words. "That gives me a great idea!"

"What is?" King asked.

"Willow and Gus! Maybe they help us get out of this mess?" She asked, stroking her chin. "Then maybe we can break out of this… Torture." She said as she opened her messenger bag. "Hop in buddy."

King did so, not complaining as he hopped into her satchel bag.

As they walked, Luz felt another headache forming, she hissed, feeling more of her memories slip away from her. Specifically, her father's mask, the very one that struck fear into the denizens of the Isles. Also of the many spells, Luz was shown throughout her training to be the best there is.

"Are you ok?" King asked, worried at the sight of his friend hissing in pain.

"We gotta hurry King… The more we wait, the more I forget." She said as she turned the corner, the school finally coming into view once again.

"So that means that if we don't undo what's happened…" King trailed off.

Luz nodded, not needing to hear the rest of the sentence to know what was at risk… Zul being free from the mirror, recking havoc across the isles, possessing Luz's body… Amity and her in a relationship neither of them wanted…

Luz looked around at the small town. People constantly waved at her, greeting her and asking if she'll be cheering at the game.

It began…

It began to feel nice… People didn't find her weird, she remembered how the entire school was her friend and how Willow and Gus became friends, even the magical night that Amity "supposedly" asked her out…

Her life here was perfect, why would anyone want to go past the walls? There was nothing beyond the borders for her anymore…

Luz then felt a sudden rush of pain, bringing her back to reality.

"Luz! Are you alright!?" King asked, biting her hand again.

"Ah! King, those fangs are wicked sharp! Why'd you bite me!?" She asked.

"You began talking to the people in town! Walking away from the school! Then your eyes glazed over all weird like!" He said, biting her again.

"AH! King!" She yelled, holding her hand. "I swear I'm fine now!" She said, not quite enjoying the sensation of his sharp canines.

"What even were you thinking about?" He asked.

Luz thought on the question for a few moments… She was falling deeper and deeper into this world by the minute, Zul's magic was strong here for sure.

"The spell… It's making me forget my past life… It's trying to get me to fall under the effects of the spell, we need to hurry!" Luz said as she ran forward, moving past all the kind people who were greeting her kindly.

"Not real… Not real… They don't know me… Not really…" Luz repeated her mantra as reached the steps of Hexside. It was… Checking her phone, Luz saw that it was…

"Woah, how is it noon already?" She asked as she entered the school, looking around, she saw that even Hexside was now a "normal" high school, the walls lined with actual metal lockers that didn't try to eat you and the floors were now tile instead of stone bricks.

"God this feels so wrong..." She said with a whisper as she navigated the halls before finally coming upon the cafeteria. It remained mostly the same, nothing too out of the ordinary had changed, the food was normal too.

Luz quickly looked around the lunchroom and found her targets, conversing and eating their lunch.

"Willow! Gus!" She called out as she made her way over to them, hugging Willow tightly before giving Gus an equally strong bear hug.

"Luz!" They both said at the same time.

"You weren't in agriculture, I thought you were absent," Willow commented.

"Nothing compares to that Pneumonia last week," She said as she rubbed her chest, remembering how Lady Hele described her lungs practically melting and reforming, "Yeah… Compared to that, I'm fine… Ok, first-" She put her bag down in front of them, King popping his head out. "-This is King."

"Aww, a fox! He's so cute!" Willow gushed, petting King, who leaned into her hand. "You said his name is King?"

"Yup! Right, buddy?" She asked, nudging King with her elbow.

"Sure is!" King said loudly, "Love the petting, by the way, very soft hands."

"EEEK!" Willow said in surprise as she reeled her hand back in surprise, "DID HE JUST SPEAK!?"

"Quiet Willow!" Luz said, covering Willow's mouth, "Yes he can speak! It's because he's a demon!" She said as she shushed Willow.

Both Willow and Gus seemed to stare at King before looking back at Luz. There was a ringing noise in the air before Willow could be seen rubbing her temples in slight pain at the noise.

"L- Luz? What's going on…" Willow asked.

"Yeah… Something is wrong here…?" Gus asked as he looked around at the Lunchroom. "Where are we?"

"You guys remember!?" Luz asked, surprised that they broke out of the spell.

"No…?" Willow said, confused, "I just remember you and that something is wrong?" She asked.

"Ok ok, so here's the basic jest, I'm the Princess of the Boiling Isles and I was practicing a spell, right!? An illusion spell that changes your appearance! But I put too much power into it-!"

"-Casting a super-powerful version of it," King said, licking his paws like a cat.

"-And the spell spread out all over Bonesborough and now the entire town thinks this is the actual reality and I'm slowly losing my mind by staying here too long!" Luz said before slamming her head on the table.

"…" The pair of friends were silent, how does one even respond to that.

The ringing suddenly came back, causing both Gus and Willow intense pain before they blinked, and the ringing stopped before looking at King.

"Oh! A Fox?! What's his name?" Willow asked petting King again.

Luz looked up.

"What? I just told you his name, King?" She asked before realizing what had happened.

"I told you Princess, whatever you do, I can fix… Give up already! Just try to enjoy your new life here!" Zul's voice echoed in the back of Luz's head.

Luz gritted her teeth and pounded her fists on the table, her eyes flashing golden for a brief moment before it dissipated quickly.

"You aren't going to win…" Luz said silently to herself, "I'm going to get out of here…"

"Haha, Luz, you card," Someone said, wrapping their arm around Luz, "That's my… Girlfriend… for you, always forgetting." Amity said as she sat next to Luz, the word "girlfriend" felt disgusting to her to use when was talking about Luz.

"What? Amity?" Luz asked, "I thought I told you that- Oh right… Zul fixed it…" She whispered to herself.

"I broke free…" Amity whispered.

"What?" She asked, eyes wide.

"I said, whatever this Spell is, we're getting out… But we need to act the part until the end of the school day, got it?" She asked, sitting up.

Luz felt many things at once, hope, happiness… Love for Amity's cute, pale face and those unnatural golden eyes… She shook her head. 'No, No, those feelings aren't real…'

Luz took a deep breath before nodding.

"Got it… Happy that you're here to help…" Luz said, "I'm losing my mind…" She whispered.

"Alright, Lovebirds," Willow said, standing up with her lunch tray, "Stop whispering to each other, we got class in a minute, let's get out of here."

Luz looked at King, he nodded and jumped into her messenger bag before the group went about through their classes.

- Later -

Luz and Willow laughed as they exited the school through the front door of Hexside.

"And do you remember how Gus pissed off Principal Bump because he made a light so bright, it blinded everyone in class!?" Luz asked as they both laughed. There was a car horn, looking, Willow saw her Dad's waving at her from their car.

"That's my ride, I'll text you later Luz, have fun at practice!" She said running down the steps and joining her parents in the car, driving off.

"Oh right! I almost forgot!" Luz said as she opened her messenger bag and looked at the napping King. "Think you can wait a bit more?" She asked, King opened his eyes and gave a yip in response before falling back asleep. It would seem that King has fully fallen under the effects of the spell…

"Yeah, Coach Fera would be angry if I missed two days in a row," She said, not noticing the usually talkative King yip at her instead of speaking. She turned around to reenter the school but was only met with an angry Amity. "Oh, hey Ames, I haven't seen you since… Lunch… What's wrong?" She asked.

Amity sighed and lifted her hand and slapped Luz.

"Ah! Amity! What the heck are you-" Luz's eyes suddenly flashed with recognition as the pain from the slap brought her back to reality.

"That better?" Amity asked as she crossed her arms, annoyed to be stuck in this situation.

"Yeah… Thanks, what was your plan?" She asked, "Oh God, remembering things is starting to get worse…" She said, rubbing her temples.

"Yeah, whatever, don't call me Ames and you'll be fine if this plan works out," Amity said as she pulled out a phone, she handed it to Luz, "Here, start recording, I can't figure out how to use this thing." She said as she stood in front of the school and fixed her hair.

"What are you planning?" Luz asked as she opened the camera and pointed it at Amity.

"You'll see…" Amity said as she applied her black football face paint. "Thank god I'm still popular here, as Blight should…" She cleared her throat and nodded at Luz, who pressed the record button.

Amity gave a competitive smile. "Hey there, Hexside! Bonesborough too! You guys all know how we just won state champs? Well, I wanted to celebrate properly!" She said as she pulled out a glyph. Luz's eyes widened. Where did she get that...?

"You see these drawings? As we speak! My entire team is hiding these things all over town! Watch!" She pressed the glyph and the paper crumpled into a ball of light. She held the light in front of her. "You see that? This handy piece of magic was made by my lovely Girlfriend, Luz Noceda!" She said, signaling Luz to show herself.

Luz turned the camera and waved with a smile. "H- Hey!" She said nervously and quickly turned the camera back to Amity.

"Let's make this more interesting! At 6'oclock sharp, right when the sun sets! That's when the contest really starts! Hint, look around the local Police Station! Whoever finds the most gets a very special prize! Captain Blight, over and out!" She said, waving with a bright smile. Luz cut the recording.

"Good job, Amity, did it in one shot! That's my Girlfriend!" Luz said, posting the video instantly before looking up with a deadpan face. "Sorry… What's your plan anyway?" Luz asked, quickly changing the topic.

"Well, when you ran away, you dropped a bunch of these light glyphs," Amity said as she presented one to Luz, as they walked down the street, "And I tried to show it to one of my friends, Boscha, she broke free from this spell but almost instantly she just thought it was a weird magic trick."

They crossed the street and watched as the sun quickly setting until it became dark.

"Woah, what the heck?" Luz asked as she checked her phone. "It was three a minute ago!" She said, making Amity smile.

"Time works differently here, it's like a TV show, a sitcom. So if something is going to happen at a certain time—" Amity began.

"-The scene will change to be that time, I understand." Luz finished, nodding, she then sighed.

"Gosh, Amity, you really are the smartest person on the Isles… I was tripping over my feet this entire time, not knowing what to do, and falling under the effects of the Illusion, and the minute you break free, you stay free the entire day and manage to come up with a plan. How did manage that?" Luz asked.

Amity crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.

"That's easy. You know how I slapped you? Pain seems to keep you out of the loop of this spell, so I've been pinching myself every time I get feelings for you." She said, pinching herself again.

"O- oh… I Gotta admit that hurts a bit, anyway! What was your plan? You said people would just fall back into the spell?" Luz asked, quickly moving past Amity's comment. It's not like she hasn't heard it before, anyway.

"Right, they fall right under control again, but I was thinking, what if the entire town saw the magic and broke free from the spell then began to cast magic? It could overload the spell enough to break us free from this… Weird place…"

"It's Earth?" Luz said questionably.

"Whatever." She responded, not caring enough to correct herself, "We just need enough chaos and confusion so that we break Lord Lovelace out of jail."

"Why Lord Lovelace? I remember I saw him get thrown into the back of a police car." Luz commented as the duo finally came upon the police station, kids already gathering and looking around.

"Lord Lovelace? Head of the illusion coven?" Amity asked in a matter-of-fact tone.

"Oh, that's right!" She said, snapping her fingers, remembering. "Yeah! He looked like he wasn't affected by the spell, at all! He was even trying to look for me!"

"If anyone can break the spell, it's him," Amity said as she reached into her pocket and handed Luz a stack of Glyphs. "Here, you can use these better than me," Amity said.

'Can I even do anything better than you?' She asked herself as she took the stack of papers and looked at one.

"Alright… Operation Laced Love begins-"

"I didn't agree to that name!" Amity said quickly.

"Now!" Luz said, ignoring Amity as she slammed the glyphs together and threw the stack into the air, they crumbled into balls and began to float all over the place.

The gathered students all looked at the floating lights and were enamored with the light show, suddenly, they all began to hear ringing noises and suddenly all their forms shifted from human back to either Demon or Witch. They all looked confused and freaked out at the scene around them.

"What the…"

"Where are we…?"

"WHY ARE THE TREES GREEN!?"

Amity quickly stepped forward.

"Hexside! You love magic right!?" She shouted, getting their attention, and drawing a spell circle, and making an abomination rise from the purple circle. "Show it off then! Break it all!"

The students all looked hesitant until Tiny Nose screamed, powered by several Construction Coven Glyphs.

"Break free from the oppressors and the simulation!" She shouted, punching a random wall from an establishment, a random one no less.

The students cheered loudly.

"BLIGHT! BLIGHT! BLIGHT!" They chanted as they all began to cast random spells, more and more chaos forming by the second.

Luz looked around and dodged flying projectiles and haywire spells as they flew by.

"Oh, querido señor…" Luz said as she pulled Amity out of the way of a stray fireball. "I think you may have riled them up too much…"

"It doesn't matter! Look!" Amity said pinching herself as she pointed at the sky, looking, the pair saw the entire sky glitching and deforming.

"Oh! It's working!" Luz said as officers started to file out of the police station, attempting to contain the quickly forming problem, even Lilith was shouting into a megaphone to get them under control.

"Princess… just WHAT do you think you're doing?" Zul's voice echoed out.

"Luz, who was that?" Amity asked.

"Uh… I don't know! Let's go!" Luz grabbed Amity, dodging the question effectively and dragging her into the Police Station. The people inside the station were also falling victim to the chaos, some were shifting from Human to witch or Demon, confused and mostly scared.

"Hey, are you OK?" Luz asked, stopping to help a demon with multiple eyes, who seemed to be having a mental breakdown on their identity.

"Luz, you can't help him right now!" Amity said, trying to pull Luz along.

"But Amity- Can't you see that they're in pain and-"

"Luz," Amity said, grabbing her shoulders, "It's annoyingly endearing that you want to help, but the only way to help right now is to get Lord Lovelace to break this dang Illusion spell you got us all under!" Amity urged her, pulling Luz along.

Luz looked behind her one last time before nodding.

"Yeah… You're right…" She said, following Amity deeper into the station. They eventually came upon what were the holding cells, where the Illusion head was bouncing a ball against the wall of the cell.

"Lord Lovelace!" Luz said, gripping the bars. "Are you alright?"

The Coven Head perked his head up and didn't catch the ball this time, it striking his sculpted face.

"Sonofa… Princess! So glad you haven't fallen victim to this spell and that you're OK! Mind getting me out of here?" He asked.

Luz and Amity looked around the room, their search concluding that there were no keys to be found.

"Ugh! Lilith probably has them on her!" Amity groaned, rubbing her temples in annoyance.

"Then, bend the bars!" Lovelace said.

"I- I can't do that! I'm weak! Nerd arms!" She said, wiggling them to demonstrate.

"Listen, Princess, I know you think that, but you're the Emperor's kid remember?" He asked her, "Your father has the Titan's magic flowing through him at every minute of every day, he could lift quite a bit of weight. I once saw him catch a falling stone block, with one hand.."

Luz's ears perked up at his words before looking at her hands, still not sure.

"Come on, Princess! I know you can hone in on it! That Titan level strength! Haven't you felt a powerful force inside of you, activating in the past?"

Luz looked up, remembering how she was able to move so fast in the Witches Duel and Adegast, how she turned him into stone, and how she caught Amity midair and even healed her leg.

"Y- yeah… I remember…" She said, clenching her fist tightly.

"Then I KNOW that you can do this, Princess!" He encouraged. "It's a very basic thing that all witches can do! Feel the blood flowing out your heart and through your entire body! In your arms, legs, chest! Everywhere! There's magic in every lost drop of your blood! Just, breathe and make that magic strengthen your muscles! You can do it!" He said, encouraging her and waving small flags with Luz's face on them.

Luz clenched her fist even tighter. She could do this… She KNEW she could… If her father could, Luz knew that she could certainly as well. She focused in, closing her eyes as the world around her fell silent, only listening to her heart beating. Feeling the magic course through her entire body, especially her arms and muscles.

She slowly gripped the metal bars and opened her eyes, not flowing with golden potential but they were certainly filled with a newfound determination.

Luz tightened her hold on the metal bars before she pulled hard, yanking the bars off and throwing them to the side, she did this again to make a better clearing for Lovelace to walk through. She breathed heavily as she looked at her handy work.

Amity's eyes were wide with shock.

"I can't believe that worked…" She said, amazed.

Luz looked at her questionably.

"Why wouldn't it?" She asked, concerned that the cool thing she did was too unbelievable.

"Well… Cause that muscle strengthening technique isn't exactly an easy thing for a common witch's body to handle…"

"…What?"

Lord Lovelace, climbing out of his cell.

"Fine, so I may or may not've withheld some important information about the technique that-"

"Your arms and legs could've exploded off your body if you've done it wrong in any way." Amity cut in.

"WHAT!?" The Princess looked at Lovelace, "WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!?" She screamed.

"Cause the same way birds learn how to fly, you need to throw them out of the nest and let them figure it out on the way down!" He said with a smile, "If you would've known the risk, then you surely would've perished, Princess. I promise I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think you could handle it!" He defended himself, laughing as he scratched his neck nervously.

"But- That doesn't matter right now!" He said, suddenly looking serious as he held out his hand, "Princess, I've been able to keep myself from falling victim to the Spells effects, but my magic is very limited here as if something was suppressing me! Do you mind if I borrow magic and I cast the spell to get us out of here?"

Luz looked at his hand before grabbing it.

"Is that even a question? Of course, yes, get us out of here!" She said, grabbing his hand in a handshake motion.

Suddenly, Lord Lovelace's eyes turned yellow, and his form shimmered before he turned back into Zul.

"Gotcha…" She said with an evil laugh, Amity stepped back at the sight of an evil-eyed Luz.

"Luz!?" She asked suddenly, what was going on here? Who was that?

"What the…" She said, surprised and shocked. She looked around the holding cell and saw the real Coven head, in a holding cell next to Zul. He was tied and gagged.

"ZUL!? Wait no fair! You tricked me!" Luz said, trying to pry her hand away but found Zul's grip was absolute and magically binding no less.

"Whoever said that I needed to be fair in getting you to say yes!? You said yes and shook my hand, the Ancient rules think that's more than enough for me to break out of here!" She laughed crazily as she disappeared, and Luz stumbled back, falling backward, passed out.

"Luz!?" Amity went to her side, slapping her face lightly to wake her but nothing happened.

"Mmmm!" A voice called out, muffled.

Looking Amity saw the real Lovelace struggling to break free from his bindings, she quickly went over, breaking him free and undoing the gag. If anyone could help, it would be him.

-Elsewhere-

Luz panted as she felt herself falling through a black abyss, looking around, she saw that there was nothing for miles, just pure darkness. Suddenly she came to a stop,

"Where… Where are am I?" She asked herself, standing up and looking around.

"Welcome to the deepest recesses of your mind, Princess, this is where my hosts usually end up. I used to leave them here in the dark, letting them rot away into afterthoughts…" Zul said, appearing before Luz, slowly circling her with a toothy smile, with fangs sharp enough to cut diamonds, "But I found that… The more powerful the will… The more Powerful is the need to take back control of their body." Zul then snapped her fingers, a bright light blinded Luz for a moment before it died down.

Opening her eyes, Luz saw the entirety of the Boiling Isles was remade here… Everything…

"Look, Luz, it's your entire life, remade here… Identical, absolutely nothing here goes wrong… Everyone loves you and better yet-" She snapped her fingers and a mirror appeared in front of Luz, showing an Adult Luz. She was dressed in a white cloak, with a proper Emperor's uniform, looking regal and dignified, but most importantly, she had a staff and crown. "-You can be a great Empress here…" She said, making the offer even more tempting.

"All you need to say… Is yes…" Zul repeated, whispering into her ear, leaning against Luz's shoulder.

Luz stared at her future self.

This is what she could be… In the future, if she stayed here… In this false reality….

She scowled before gritting her teeth and clenching her fist, so angry at this fake her and this fake Isles.

"I've never… Seen a more horrible version of myself…" She said, pulling back a fist and striking the mirror to shards, the entire illusion of the Isles shattered as well, nothing was left behind.

"I don't want your fakes and illusions! I want the REAL Willow and Gus, even Amity! I want my REAL parents! I. Want. A. REAL LIFE!" She screamed, pulsing with golden magic, and pushing Zul back, onto her back.

Zul yelled in surprise as she fell backward and looked at Luz, amazed with the sheer willpower radiating off of the Princess… Suddenly, she felt something… Change… Her eyes widened.

"No… Nonono NO! NOT AGAIN! HOW DID YOU CHANGE THE TERMS OF THE CONTRACT!" Zul could be seen summoning a scroll of paper, reading it over and over again. "How did you do that Princess? The only person who's EVER been able to change the terms of one of MY contracts was Azura! And she's long been dead!" Zul then began to morph, going on all fours and shifting into the form of a displacer beast. She pounced atop of Luz, growling. "So how is it that a NOBODY like YOU changed the terms!?" She roared at Luz, gnashing her sharp teeth at her.

"Probably cause she's the Princess of the Boiling Isles and you're just a pitiful demon playing Titan…" A voice said, suddenly a bright light cut through the darkness of Zul's void, a bright white light was quickly overtaking the entire realm.

Luz on the ground, looked to the bright light, only being able to see a silhouette of a witch, wearing long robes and a classic witch's hat, parts of which glinted in the bright light and staff in their right hand. Luz could tell that it was female from the figure.

"Kopiere…" The silhouette whispered, Zul suddenly perked towards the direction of the silhouette before growling and climbing off of Luz.

"Who are you… To know MY name…" Zul asked, turning to face the mysterious figure.

"You know, a very important Witch who's long been dead… but listen, Kopiere, how about we let the Princess go? You said it yourself, the terms of the contract have been changed, you can't possess her now or ever again, let her go." She said, her voice echoed throughout the darkness, commanding Zul.

"Why should I!?" Zul challenged, still in her displacer beast form, growling at the silhouette.

"You know what happens when you break the Ancient Law. Banishment, to the deepest parts of the Spirit World." She said, suddenly, shadowy arms rose from the darkness and threatened to grab Zul and drag her to the true Abyss of the Spirit world.

Zul's eyes widened before she shifted back to normal, or as normal as being stuck in the form of the Princess could be. She floated away from the arms, keeping her distance.

"FINE! Fine!" She said, groaning as she crossed her arms and turned to Luz, who was sitting up on the floor. She gave Luz a rage-filled scowl, filled with nothing but pure hate. "Mark my words when I say that this isn't the last you hear of me, Princess…" She said, raising her hand and getting ready to snap.

Luz took a final look at the silhouette, their robes were flapping in the air as they stepped forward and into the light for Luz to see her. Her eyes widened in instant recognition. The person smiled at Luz and waved her goodbye.

"Good luck, Princess, may your adventures be kinder than mine were…" She said softly.

Zul snapped her fingers and Luz instantly felt herself falling through the black abyss, towards what was a small light opening out to her.

-real world-

Amity was shaking Luz, in an attempt to wake her while Lord Lovelace was preparing a spell.

"And you're sure this is gonna wake her up?" Amity asked, holding Luz still for him.

"I'm certain, now watch this," Lovelace then spread apart his hands and lightning arched between them, "I heard humans use lightning magic to wake up other Humans!" He said, confident in his reasoning.

"That doesn't sound—"

Luz suddenly shot forward, sitting up with a start and out of Amity's arms.

"AZURA!" She screamed, holding her chest, and panting as she looked around, "I just saw AZURA!"

"Luz, what are you talking about?" Amity asked, confused as to why she was talking about a fictional character from a book series. One of her favorites but still, she wasn't real.

The Illusion head seemed intrigued.

"You saw the Good Witch herself?" He asked, leaning forward, "Were you sure?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm sure! Did she save me? It doesn't matter right now, Lovelace! Can you get us out of here!?" She asked quickly.

"Oh yeah definitely! I just need a bit of your magic to break us out of here!" He said, holding out a hand for Luz.

"It would be an honor…" Luz smiled and held his hand.

The illusion coven head focused in, holding her hand as he lifted his other high into the air, a silver mirror appeared in his hand, it shined brightly and reflected the entire world. It flashed through every building, every witch, demon, and monster, and anything that was out of place.

Lovelace's eyes flashed bright blue and so did Luz's, he smiled with confidence.

"In the name of the Illusion Coven and the Silver Mirror of Dawnstorm, I banish this illusion and free Bonesborough and the people from this curse…" He whispered as he drew on his magic and Luz's, a loud shockwave covered the entire Isles, and everything shattered around the trio of witches before they felt themselves falling, and just as quickly as it began, it stopped.

Amity carefully fluttered her buzzing eyes and looked around her. The police station was no longer tile, but instead, they were in a dungeon with wrought iron bars and some cells being made of black Anti-magic bricks.

She looked down at herself, she was no longer dressed as a "football" captain, no memories of taking state championship… She pinched herself… It wasn't an illusion anymore, she could confirm. So why… She pinched herself again.

"Wow, oof that took a lot out of me…" Lovelace said, stretching and popping several bones, yawning, I could use a pick-me-up… How about you Princess?" He said, making the Silver Mirror disappear.

Amazingly enough, Luz wasn't passed out from exerting all that magic to maintain the coven head's negation spell.

"I'm… I'm doing alright… I can't believe that I saw Azura… Why was she there?" Luz said, biting at her fingers in thought, before opening her messenger bag and pulling out King. He was still asleep! "I'll get him home soon..." She whispered, holding him like a baby.

"I don't know why she was there, princess, but you did great back there, especially when you ripped those bars off the cell… I got to ask, that Demon tricked you into saying yes, didn't she?" He asked before narrowing his eyes at Luz suspiciously. "You're not actually that Demon posing as the Princess, are you?"

"What? No! I'm me!" She confirmed as Amity came over also curious as she was still pinching herself, "When the… When Zul tricked me, She tried to keep me trapped in my head! Making the Isles in my head and saying that it was a perfect 1:1 replica of the Isles! She said that everything was perfect there, no death, hurting, nothing!"

"Yeah, that's something a Demon would do," Lovelace said, stroking his chin in thought.

"Sounds like anyone would take that deal…" Amity said, crossing her arms.

"Maybe… But I knew it was fake, that none of it was real and none of it would matter. So I said no, and then the terms of a contract changed? I don't know what it could mean…"

Lord Lovelace seemed to know.

"The Demons contract changed? For certain?"

Luz nodded, completely confident in her ears.

"Princess, that's an incredible feat! Only person rumored to be able to do it was… Was Azura herself…" He said, his eyes flashed with recognition before the Silver Mirror appeared in his hands. "I must go, Princess. I'll inform your father of what has happened here, so he doesn't have an aneurysm attempting to figure out what was happened here." He tilted the Silver Mirror and it shined brightly, before disappearing.

"Well… Wonder what that could mean…?" Luz asked herself before turning and seeing Amity walking out of the Dungeon. "Amity, wait! I wanted to talk!"

Amity groaned as she exited what was now ID'ed as an Emperor's Coven station. Naturally. She didn't stop walking away as Luz came up running in front of her, still holding King's lifeless sleeping body as she stopped her.

"H- Hey! Stop for a minute!" She said panting, "Oh Titán, estoy agotada…" She whispered.

"What do you want, human, I thought we were done here?" Amity asked, stopping and giving Luz an uninterested look.

"Look, stop with your façade for a minute-"

"Façade?" She asked, but Luz quickly moved on.

"Listen, I wanted to thank you for your help back there… I don't know what I would've done if I lost myself in that illusion." She began.

"Hm, as the Princess, you outta keep your cool more often in situations like that and actually use that big head of yours," Amity said, poking Luz's forehead roughly. "I know that you gotta have brains up here, Princess."

"Just call me Luz, Amity, please…" She rubbed her forehead, "And you were so smart back there! I never would've thought to cause chaos to disrupt the Illusion to get to Lovelace! Then again… Zul did see it coming, in the end… I guess I'm just trying to say that I want to make it up to you!"

"Make it up to me?" Amity asked skeptically, "What could you possibly do to make it up to me, Pri-… Luz…" Narrowing her eyes at Luz.

"Yeah! You did so much for me today! It would only be right for a Princess such as myself to repay the favor to such a kind and generous soul, such as yourself, madam Blight." Luz said, overselling the Princess bit, even bowing in a curtsy manner.

Amity blushed at the obvious overplayed gestures… Although she couldn't help but giggle at Luz's antics, pinching herself.

"Fine, my fair Princess, impress me if you're so bold as to try," She responded, rolling her eyes, not believing that she was matching Luz's energy.

Luz smiled and stood straight, holding King like he was a stuffed animal now.

"Cool! Can I get your number, then?" Luz asked.

"My what…?" Amity asked, confused.

"Your… Uh…" Luz didn't bother to explain, instead of pulling out her scroll.

"Oh! My Runes! Who would use numbers for contact information?" Amity asked,

"Yeah… Who would do that…" Luz said with a laugh, beginning to trade contact information with Amity. Another weird facet of the Isles, it would seem. Instead of phone numbers, they use contact runes that Luz couldn't read yet.

Luz wouldn't trade this world for a thing, no matter how weird and bizarre or confusing. Especially with her new friends… Where they loved her for who she was, this truly was her new home.

-Meanwhile-

The Illusion Coven Head flew into the upper parts of the stone tower next to the Owl House, using an illusioned human flashlight to shine his way through the stone structure.

The tower was mostly abandoned, only being used by Eda as a shed, she never entered the raggedy upperparts, scared that brick would come loose, and she'd break a leg. He had to thank his lucky graces for that though…

He came upon a back wall, he took a deep breath.

"Ve…" He pressed a brick, it began glowing.

"Jménu…" Another brick was pressed.

"Azurova Nástupce…" Another two.

"Odhalte." With that final magic word, the stone wall crumbled to dust in front of him.

He saw a sight that his father and Grandfather had only described to him in stories…

An ancient scroll wrapped tightly in a white ribbon and stamped with a purple seal.

"Well, Princess… I don't want to make any early judgment calls… But life is going to become a bit harder, really soon…" He said softly, taking the scroll and teleporting away with it.
