Boscha Havenstar, heir to Havenstar Inc., producer of many different convenient witch products! Things included were a variety of different potions, bat repellents, griffon repellent, Holy Water (1), and Boscha's favorite item, a Havenbag.

A Havenbag is a simple magic item, able to store many more personal items than what appears to be possible. It's like a small pocket dimension but it isn't at the same time, it is hard to explain, just know that it holds hundreds upon hundreds of items, more than what should be possible.

Boscha remembered her mother describing it to her as; The items are transported to the Weave and the bag makes sure they aren't turned into pure magic.

One warning constantly given to Boscha was to never climb into one, turn it inside out, or throw money into it. Climbing into one would transport you into the weave never to return, turning it inside out would spill everything you have in there onto the ground, and finally, throwing money inside would make it lost to the Weave.

The Weave must not like Gold… Or maybe it liked it? Who could tell?

Boscha's father could…

He had founded Havenstar Inc., in response to Alador and Odalia's founding of Blight Ind. and they've been competitors ever since. While the Blight's worked on finding new uses for abominations and creating new weaponry, technology, and types of Golems, Havenstar Inc. worked on making life more convenient for the common Witch and Demon but even he knew that they needed something truly amazing…

"We'll make something so groundbreaking that we'll never leave the market." He often said, "Something so useful, it'll change the way the Boiling Isle's operates!"

His big dreams led him to discover a space between the Realms, where you could safely put an item inside and retrieve it. What was better, was that food never became tainted in there either.

Meaning that the common Coven Scout could be supplied with countless supplies and fresh provisions and have all the things they need to complete missions, not only that, they'd no longer be encumbered by the weight of their equipment either. Weapons could be sneaked into enemy territory and so much more could be done with this invention.

The Emperor was quick to have a meeting with Mr. Havenstar, delivering an offer that anyone with half a brain would accept.

Now they are a leading giant in the quickly developing industry of the Isles with so much more to come with Mr. Havenstar leading them forward!

Or… It would've been…

It was common knowledge by now that the ever charitable founder of the company was caught up in an experiment gone wrong, leading to a fire that took the lives of several Witches and Demons. It was a tragic day, and even more tragic day for his family.

Boscha Havenstar had to be about 10 years old at the time, with his wife, Ruby Havenstar being left as a widow in the process…

It was hard on them, for sure.

Ruby changed her name back to Hieronymus, too hurt by his sudden loss to continue even hearing his name. Even looking into their daughter's eyes and her hibiscus-colored hair… It all just hurt her too much to handle, shutting herself out from her daughter and focusing on her work.

The Witch would eventually gain notoriety as a genius prodigy in Potion crafting and ascend to the seat of Head of her Coven, leaving Boscha feeling even more neglected and seeking her mother's attention but no matter what Boscha did, no matter what trophies she won, Ruby could never look at her daughter without feeling a sort of guilt.

Boscha often wondered why this was but for the life of her couldn't figure it out… Sadness was easy to understand, but why was their guilt in her eyes?

It often made her wonder…

"Does she know something?" She asked herself, staring up at a pin-up board with many threads and articles scattered across it, points being connected and trying to find a connection but none made themselves clear.

Boscha groaned and let her head hit the board.

"Ugh, who am I kidding… I'm no detective…" She said softly, before reaching over and plucking an article about the accident, reading it for what felt like the thousandth time.

"Hirůz (2) Havenstar, founder of Havenstar Industries, loving father and husband, was caught in the crossfire of an experimental potion brew. The triclops was with his daughter at the time of the accident, saving her from the blast while he stood behind to contain the explosion that would've taken the lives of his workers if he hadn't intervened to save them all. The Emperor has shared some words on his heroic sacrifice…"

Boscha sighed and pinned the article back on the board.

She couldn't remember much of that day… It was 4 years ago, and she didn't want to remember either. To think that her father's last words were…

Boscha shook her head, focusing on the now, and not particularly wanting to remember the past.

"Something happened that day, I just know it…" She whispered, "Dad was following Mom's instructions to the letter, comma, and drop… What went wrong…?"

"Dear?" A voice asked from the hallway.

Boscha groaned and rolled her three eyes.

"Oh, look Dad…" She whispered, glancing at the image of her father, "The person who used to be Mom…" She looked towards the door, "What do you want?" She called out, drawing a spell circle, sending away the pin-up board for later.

Ruby Hieronymus, current Potion Coven Head and acting CEO of Havenstar Inc., entered and looked at her daughter, a hurt expression going across her face before she took a deep breath.

"Sweetie, it's almost time for you to get to Hexside, are you ready?" She asked, "Maybe I can take you today or we can take one of our carriages and-"

"Sorry, Mom," Boscha interrupted, grabbing her Havenbag, custom made to be a personal side bag, and sliding it over her shoulder. A final gift to her from her father, "But I need to meet up with Skara and Amelia before school and I'd rather just walk…" She said coldly, walking past Boscha.

Ruby turned to face her daughter, reaching out to her but her scroll buzzed at her, she watched Boscha descend the stairs and sighed, reaching and answering the scroll.

"This is Lady Hieronymus," She said with a slight sigh, closing the door to her daughter's room, she'd try again later…

With Boscha, she quickly moved past the maids and butlers that worked for her family, she never liked them and often forbade them from cleaning her room and clothes, not trusting them at all, also thinking that you should do that sort of thing yourself but that didn't matter at the moment.

What did matter was figuring a few things out.

The first is that darn girl…

Willow Something Park… She had a middle name but wasn't sure what it was yet, all she did know was that something was different about her… Since meeting the Human, who she now suspected to be the Emperor's Daughter, she's been more confident and displaying her strength…

Not only that, her care and gentle nature with plants and flowers was something to be admired…

Boscha clenched her fist tightly, a blush spreading across her face as she slapped her cheeks.

"Ugh! Stop that! She's just a dumb leaf girl who likes even more idiotic plants!" She told herself, "She must've hexed me! That has to be it! Yeah!" She said quickly, dismissing the thoughts and reaching into her Havenbag, reaching deep before pulling out what appeared to be a set of rollerskates. (3)

Boscha was quick to put them on before beginning to ride into town with them, gliding at a smooth pace, holding the strap of her bag securely as she rode into Bonesborugh Marketplace, gliding across it, looking for something specific…

As she rode through the market, she saw what appeared to be the no longer Wanted Owl Lady, a small demon sleeping on the counter, and the Human. It looked like they were trying to sell some device to a demon…

Looking at their stand, her eyes widened when she spotted something, she rolled to a slow stop and rode to their stand, pushing the demon to the side and picking up the item she spotted.

"How much for this!?" She asked quickly and loudly, disturbing King from his nap.

"Ugh, not for sale… Go away…" He mumbled with a groan, curling himself further into a ball.

Luz was shocked, to say the least, to see Boscha just appear. She didn't know the Triclops all that much besides the fact that Amity and her were friends… Or used to be… Also, that Willow thought she was a really egotistical bully that valued winning more than anything.

Looking at what Boscha had picked up, she saw that it was what appeared to be a high-end glass chemistry set, by the human brand of Pyrex. It was being displayed in a wooden case.

Eda stepped forward, always excited to make a sale.

"Ignore my friend, I see that your eyes have spotted this rare Human treasure, used exclusively for drinking over there."

Luz could only give her an extremely puzzled look, where could she possibly get that idea?

Boscha gave her an equally puzzled look.

"No, birdbrains, this is a Human chemistry set," She corrected, "These things were always so much better than Witch ones… My father had one, I want it, how much?"

Eda narrowed her eyes at Boscha, a sense of familiarity coming over her, and a lightbulb lit up in her head, she remembered now.

"Oh, you're Ruby's kid! Should've known, got her hair and Hirůz's eyes… Sorry about what happened to your pops, kid," She said, shaking her head, "He was always a riot in Hexside, him and Ruby were always giving Odalia, Darius, and Alador a run for their money…" She said, reminiscing about her childhood.

Boscha looked saddened at the mention before taking a breath and crossing her arms.

"I didn't come here to listen to your life story, Owl Lady," She said, "How much for the Chemistry set?"

Eda smiled.

"You have your Mom's temperament," She commented, looking at the chemistry set for a bit and humming in thought, "I'll tell you what, let's call it a favor and I'll give it to you." She said, closing the set and sliding it over to Boscha.

Boscha placed her hand on it and narrowed her eyes at Eda.

"I don't like owing people favors, Owl Lady-"

"My name is Eda,"

"-Don't change the subject!" She said quickly and suspiciously, "Why don't you want my snails…?" She asked.

"Jen si vezmi tu zkurvenou věc, tři oči!" King shouted at her in Naihcone.

Boscha glared back at him.

Eda shrugged.

"Vrať se spát, pejsku!" She shouted back at her.

King got to his feet.

"Who you calling a dog, you depth perception stealing bi-"

Suddenly, Eda picked him up by the scruff of his collar.

"King! You're scaring the customers, I'm sending you home," She said, drawing a spell circle and opening a portal to the Owl House.

King wriggled in her hold.

"You can't just send me home!" He shouted, struggling even more.

Eda gave him a look.

"When it's affecting customers I can, byeeeeeeeee!" She tossed him.

"EDAAAAAAA-"

WOOSH

Just like that, King was teleported back to the Owl House and written out of the plot. (4)

Eda turned back to the impatient triclops.

"Anyhow, business has been good, consider it a late birthday gift," Eda said, sliding it closer to her, "Take it, have fun and make your mom proud."

Boscha wanted to keep arguing but it looked like she wasn't going to budge on this… She groaned and grabbed the case, sliding it into her Havenbag, watching it practically disappear into magic in her bag.

"Fine, since you're not giving me a choice…"

"Woah, how'd you do that with your bag?" Luz asked, coming over to inspect her bag.

Boscha gave her a look, stepping away from Luz.

"It's called a Havenbag, it holds your stuff, I wouldn't expect a human like you to understand how it works..." She said, rolling back on her skates.

Luz gave her a bit of a look, flipping through her journal for a moment.

"Well, I can guess that it uses the Weave in some way to store away your items as long as you can fit it through the opening of the bag, although I don't know how your stuff isn't turning into pure magic," She said, looking at the notes she's written on the Weave before looking back up at Boscha, "And I'm a Witch too, you know?" She said, shutting her journal, "My Father married my Human mom, and bam, here I am… A Witch."

Boscha crossed her arms, feeling an annoyance arising in her from simply interacting with Luz, she didn't know why, she barely knew her besides the fact that she was the Princess…

"And just who is your father?" She asked suddenly, "What Witch would fall for a human?"

Luz narrowed her eyes at Boscha and felt a rise coming up in her chest because of the question asked, she wouldn't be able to tell you why.

"I could say the same thing to you," She said, glancing at the third eye on her forehead, connecting a few lines, "How does a Witch fall in love with a Demon?" She asked, crossing her arms.

Boscha suddenly reached out and grabbed the medallion around Luz's neck, pulling her in close to stare into her eyes with a fury unforeseen before, summoning an orange fireball in her other hand and holding it over her head.

"Watch your mouth…" She said with narrowed eyes, bringing the fireball closer.

Luz stared back at her with equally narrowed eyes.

"I think you'd be better off watching my hands…"

Boscha knew that it must've been a trick, but she couldn't help but glance down at her hand, causing her eyes to widen in surprise, seeing that Luz's hand was holding onto the handle of a sword and was drawing it.

"Are you threatening me…?" Boscha asked with narrowed eyes.

"No… I'm telling you to let go of my medallion… It was a gift from my Father and the last person who took it ended up regretting it…"

'Oh my God, Luz what are you doing…?' She asked herself, heart pounding in her ears, 'Why are you fighting her so much…?'

"You wouldn't dare try cutting me…" Boscha whispered with narrowed eyes.

"And you wouldn't dare to burn me…" Luz responded, reaching up and grabbing her wrist, "Let. Go."

Boscha pulled herself even closer to whisper just to her, so that only Luz could hear her.

"Just because you're the Princess doesn't mean I won't put you on your ass, Human…"

Luz's eyes widened in shock.

"How do you know about that…?"

Boscha scoffed, chuckling lowly.

"Your friends like talking about you… You should hear the things they say to you behind your back," She said with a smirk, "It's kinda funny really."

Luz clenched her teeth, making her hold tighter on Boscha's wrist.

"Stop lying, they're my friends, they wouldn't say things like that behind my back..."

Boscha rolled her eyes and tightened her grasp on the medallion.

"Oh please, you've known them for two months at most," She goaded on, "Who's to say they even like you at all? Maybe they're just scared that you'll execute them for knowing the truth, I mean, if it wasn't for my demon biology, My wrist'd be broken by now…"

Luz looked away from her, trying to contain herself.

"Y- you don't know what you're talking about…" Luz whispered, releasing her wrist quickly, "M- My friends aren't scared of me…"

"Do you even know that your Elite Guard is trailing behind your path of destruction? How many do you think they silenced because you couldn't keep a secret as important as this?" She whispered, "For such an innocent Princess, you probably have a lot of blood on your hands."

Luz looked back at Boscha, her eyes were full now, and no longer were they brown but rather a menacing blue and glowing, her teeth clenched. She reached up and grabbed Boscha by the hand that was clutching her medallion.

"I don't know who you think you're talking to…" She whispered, twisting Boshca's arm until she released her medallion.

"Whoa kid, relax!" Eda said, quickly getting to her feet to intervene if need be.

"H- Hey! Y- You're hurting-"

"Shut up," Luz said quickly, bringing Boscha to her knees, "I'm tired of you and I don't even know who you are, you have such a vile personality, I can't believe Amity was ever friends with a weak and horrible Witch like you-"

"SHUT UP!" Boscha shouted, suddenly forming a spell circle and forming a fireball at the tips of her fingers, and shooting it towards Luz quickly.

Luz caught her wrist quickly and angled her hand downwards, sending the fireball to scorch the stone road beneath them, releasing Boscha.

Boscha jumped back and skidded to a stop on her skates across from Luz, drawing a pair of bright yellow spell circles that formed many more spell circles behind her in a hexagonal array.

"That's it! I don't care who you are!" She shouted, narrowing her eyes, "I'm scorching you and stomping on the ashes!" She clenched her fists and instantly, the many spell circles filled themselves with her magic and began to shoot fireballs at Luz and Eda's Human Stand.

"Oh, Titan!" Eda shouted, ducking for cover inside of her stand, while Luz stared them all on.

Luz's eyes glowed an even brighter blue, and she began to draw a full spell circle in retaliation.

"We'll see who's stepping on who…"

Seconds before either of their attacks could land or be completed, there was suddenly a figure standing in between the both of them.

"Enough!" They shouted, lifting their hands and facing it toward both the young Witches, hands both glowing brightly.

In an instant, Boscha's fireballs all stopped in their path, Luz's magic was instantly extinguished and her eyes returned to normal. Luz gasped, a feeling of breath entering her lungs the minute things went back to normal.

She blinked several times, feeling a headache coming on in full force.

"Oh god, did I do it again…?" She asked, looking at the floating fireballs, "Oh that's cool…"

Eda poked her head out.

"Is it over?" She asked.

The figure pointed their hand down, letting the fireballs scorch the stone, and turned to Luz, revealing themselves to be Elite Guardsman; Hawk, and Luz could just tell that she was tired of this situation already.

"Must I remind the both of you that dueling in the middle of Bonesborough is not only frowned upon but also very illegal," She said, before turning to Luz, "You ought to know better and you-" She turned to Boscha getting close and whispering to her, "-Certainly should know how to act in the presence of the Princess…" She whispered.

Hawk then reached her arm out and held open her hand, and Luz's sword was drawn from its scabbard and flew into her hand.

"I knew letting a demon as you live would be a mistake…" She whispered, pointing the blade at Boscha's throat, "I don't make mistakes twice…" Hawk rose the sword high.

Boscha's eyes widened, drawing a spell circle to defend herself, but it quickly fizzled out of existence and she felt a burning feeling in her heart.

"Ah what, come on, why now…?" She asked herself, backing up into a corner and staring up at Hawk with fear in her eyes. Why is it that the Elite Guard kept wanting to kill her…?

Hawk aimed to strike but the sword suddenly was pulled away from her and behind her.

Looking behind her, she saw that Luz's eyes were glowing golden and her hand was glowing as well, she caught her sword and put it away in its scabbard. The glow died down to nothing and she cleared her throat.

"T- Thank you, Hawk, you're not needed anymore… Boscha and I were just playing around, as friends…" She said with a slightly serious tone, "Right, Boscha?"

Boscha narrowed her eyes at Luz. Who did she think she was, saving her… But while prideful, she wasn't a fool… She glanced at Hawk, almost feeling the murderous intent in her magic… She took a deep breath, groaning and nodding.

"YYyyyyyuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup!" She said with a forced smile, "The best of friends…"

Hawk knew this was all lie, how could she not? But what would she say? "I'm you, I know you're lying", so instead, she took a deep breath and sighed, letting her cloak cover her shoulders and hide in it.

"Fine… If that's what you wish…" She said, "Your father sent me to come and get you, you are being fitted for a crown, I believe."

Luz gasped loudly at that, slapping her hands onto her cheeks in excitement.

"Really!?" She asked, "How do you know!?"

Hawk chuckled, smiling underneath her mask.

"Call it… A sneaking suspension…" She commented.

Luz looked up at Eda.

"Rain check?"

Eda waved her hand.

"Yeah go be a Princess or whatever," She said with a smile, "I was thinking of calling it a day after this anyhow."

Luz nodded and went over to Hawk, waving at Eda and then looking towards Boscha, smiling at her, waving a half wave as Hawk placed a hand on Luz's shoulder and teleported them away.

Boscha tsked, clenching her fist tightly.

"Of all times to make myself look like a fool…" She whispered, looking down at her hands, "Why… Is my magic like this…?" She asked herself.

Before she could fall further into her despair, something caught her eyes on the scorched earth.

"What the heck is this symbol…?" She asked, crouching, looking at it curiously before she pulled out a journal from her Havenbag and sketched it out quickly before turning her attention back to the one on the ground, "What is it…?"

Boscha reached her hand out to it and touched it, attempting to wipe away some ashes to get a better look but it suddenly glowed and she got a chill that started in her lower back and went up her spine. She pulled her hand back and watched as the symbol caught flame and shot a spire of flames into the sky.

She fell back in shock at the sight, eyes wide.

Eda looked at her in shock and awe.

"Kid, did you just do that?"

Boscha got to her feet quickly, watching as the spire of flames died down, she looked down at her journal, staring at her discovery

"I did… I did do that… Without magic…" She whispered, tapping the symbol again, an idea forming in her mind.

The paper crumbled and formed a ball of flames that shot up and into the sky at high velocity. She smirked, drawing it once more.

"Oh, this is just golden…" She said, turning away from Eda, "Thanks, Owl Lady, looks like I got more than a chemistry set from you…" She said softly, walking away and beginning to head to Hexside.

Eda reached out to her.

"Kid- Wait, don't-"

But it was too late, Boscha was gone, ignoring her cries to wait.

Eda sighed, shaking her head, looking at the symbol on the ground and summoning a pen and paper, drawing it herself quickly before snapping her fingers. A ball of water appeared and splashed the floor, washing it away.

"Well… Luz will want to hear about this later, I think…" She said softly with a bit of a sigh, shaking her head as she went back to her stand, deciding to pack it up for the rather eventful day.

It always felt like something new was happening around the Princess, huh?

Boscha would follow through with her day practicing drawing the fire glyph, feeling an odd… Connection to the drawing… She couldn't explain it, but it didn't matter, all she could think about was what if there were more pictures like this? More… Glyphs?

Boscha tapped the Glyph once more, watching a fire form in front of her.

"If there are more… I'll find them all and make the Princess eat her words…" She said, smiling as she drew a small spell circle, watching as the flame turned purple.

"Time to bring the heat…" She said softly with a smirk.

HEY YOU

Did you enjoy the chapter? I hope you did, Boscha discovering the fire glyph first was an idea that came to me while the Sargent had me working, I think it's fun and will open a lot of avenues in the story. Just you guys wait.

1. only to be used against Nightcreatures (aka Monsters) and rude ghosts, as use against Demons is considered a third-degree hate crime. You can guess which Elite Guard has some on them.

2. Pronounced [Hi-Ruu-Sis] It is a Demon name, meaning "Feared"

3. (Slight Spoiler) Learned how to ride rollerskates in response to Amity learning how to skateboard with Abomination magic, being mobile like this makes her feel better about her less than reliable magical ability

4. I had actually forgotten about King in the middle of writing this and thought that this was better than rewriting the entire chapter to include him, I'll try not to do this in the future
