I DO NOT OWN THE SELECTION SERIES. SHOUTOUT TO LOGANMCDONNELL AND COOKIEDOODLES168 FOR CREATING THESE CHARACTERS.
Schreave palace. Sacramento. Province of Angeles. 1 month and 4 weeks into the selection.
Peter had chosen Savannah Burdne as the recipient of the second solo date and a small part of him was starting to regret it. Sav had wanted to go for a jog and it eventually became clear that Peter was no Usain Bolt.
"Can't you...give me a sec...to catch up?" Peter begged as Sav reluctantly stopped jogging and leaned against a tree on the palace grounds.
"Is his majesty tired already, we've only been at this for 15 minutes." Sav pointed out.
"Well, I guess you're a better jogger than I am." He shrugged as he took a drink from his canteen.
"A fact well known." She shot back as she followed suit.
"I really needed to get out of the office for a few minutes, I've had non stop meetings with the minister of war for days." The King admitted as Sav looked at him.
"You mean about the Radical Right Rebellion?" Burdne clarified.
"The same, our troops from the province of Paloma have been vested at every turn and the rebels are beginning to spread past Midston." Peter sighed. "The Prime Minister thinks that I should send in more troops from Sumner and Clermont as well."
"With all due respect majesty...perhaps you should attempt to negotiate."
"Negotiate?"
"Yes, I have done my reasearch on these rebels and while I do not agree with them taking up arms against the crown, some of their grievances are fair." Sav argued. Peter could not help but agree with her. Despite the conservatives loyalty to Maxon II, he felt that some of Bush's policies had overstepped.
"I will discuss the matter with his Grace, the Baron of Yonkers." Peter decided as Sav offered him a smile.
"That's good to hear." She stated as Peter noticed that she was especially pretty today.
"Sav...can I tell you something?" Peter inquired.
"I suppose so." She replied with a hint of apprehension in her voice.
"Sav...I have a crush on you." Peter replied awkwardly. He could see by the look on her face that he had caught her off guard with his confession.
"Seriously, Me? You have a crush on Me?" Sav asked in shock.
"Yes, you're brilliant and beautiful, even if you can be standoffish at times. Sav was quiet for a moment before she let out a laugh.
"Um, thank you?" She replied.
"How do you feel about me?" He inquired as Sav stuttered for a moment.
"I need to be honest majesty, the reason that I applied for your selection was that my father it could help me build a political fan base so that some day I can run for provincial governor." Miss Burdne admitted solemnly. "I understand if you want to eliminate me, but I believe that I do like you very much." Peter was conflicted at the thought of her using him for political gain, but she was one of the few women that he could see having a future with.
"I am not going to eliminate you, not over this anyway." Peter explained as Sav's face flushed with relief.
"Thank you." She spoke softly as the King drew closer to her.
"Would it be all right if I kissed you, Miss Burdne?"
"I would like that, Your Highness." Peter took the women from Fennley in his arms and planted a kiss on her lips. She returned it eagerly as the two embraced each other in passion.
Later That Evening.
Selina Zhou was relaxing in her room after a long day of civics lessons when she heard a knock at her door. She went to answer it and to her surprise, it was his grace: the Baron of Yonkers.
"Your grace." Selina said as she curtsied to him.
"Miss Zhou, I hope that I am not interrupting something." The Baron stated.
"No your Grace, I was just chilling after my civics lessons." Selina replied.
"I see…Selina, there's something that I need to tell you and I don't think it can wait: I have a huge crush on you." He explained as the woman from Labrador was stunned by this.
"I know that it's against the rules and I know that you're here for Peter, but I wanted to be honest with you." Trayvon admitted as Selina was quiet for a few moments before she spoke.
"Honestly, at the moment, I've spent may more time with you than Peter." She replied with a sigh. "No offence to your brother, but I'm pretty sure I'm not the one for him."
"You mean?" He started to say before Selina put a finger to his lips.
"However, I'm still a selected and as much as I would like to give this relationship thing a try with you, I can't." She explained. "But if you're willing to give it a try too, I'll leave the selection."
"We don't have to make any decisions now." Baron Trayvon insisted. "His majesty is sending me on a diplomatic mission to Midston to see if I can negotiate with the rebels. Perhaps when I come back, we can decide about us?"
"Please write to me and stay safe, alright?" Selina asked as she grasped his hands. "Promise me that." Trayvon nodded as he planted kisses on both of her hands.
"I will." He said as he caressed her cheek.
