Catalina Espinoza was finally satisfied with the dress that she had on when she heard a knock at the door. For the past hour, she had been trying on several dresses and she had finally found the perfect one. It was a silky green gown that hugged her curves ever so nicely. It was her turn to have a solo date with King Peter and he was taking her to the fanciest restaurant in the capital city. Cat went to the door and found the King dressed up in his Sunday best.
"Miss Espinoza, you are a vision of loveliness." Peter said with a smile as Cat blushed.
"You clean up pretty nicely yourself, majesty." She remarked as she slipped her arm through his. The couple made their way through the palace and went out to the courtyard where the royal limo was waiting for them.
"So, where are you taking me?" Cat asked as the limo pulled away from the palace.
"Brown's Steakhouse, it is by far the best eating spot in the city." Peter answered as he put his arm around his date. "You know, we could have done something more…spontaneous then just going to dinner?"
"I know, but I wanted a man to spend a ridiculous amount of money on me." Cat shrugged as she leaned into Peter. They eventually arrived at the steakhouse to find that the entire restaurant had been reserved just for them. Cat and Peter enjoyed a exquisite dinner of steak and an extremely rich dessert of blueberry pie a la mode. When they returned to the palace later that night, Peter walked Cat to her room.
"That was the best meal of my life." Cat replied as she opened the door.
"The best meal of your life, so far." Peter corrected.
"You know...you could come into my room for a bit?" Cat asked in a seductive tone.
"I could...and what would we do?" Peter inquired.
"I could help you relax because you look like you need it." She said as she began to slip out of her dress. Peter took a deep breath before walking into her room and closing the door.
Later that day.
As the elite were having breakfast, they were shocked to see Rosalind storming in like a bat out of Hell. She was carrying a Manila folder in her hand with the words TOP SECRET stamped on it. Even more shocking was that she marched right up to Seraphina Shepherd, picked up her plate and smashed it on the ground.
"What was that for?" Phina asked as she stood up in anger.
"As if you don't know!" Rosalind snarled. "Someone left this folder in my room, I knew there was something off about you and now I know why, you are a traitorous bitch!" She finished her tirade by hurling a glob of spit at Phina's face.
"What is going on?" Kit inquired anxiously.
"Apparently, Seraphina's father used to be on the previous king's privy council and he was caught selling state secrets to the Emperor of New Asia and was beheaded for it!" Rosalind announced as everyone was stunned.
"Do you deny it?" Pyra asked as everyone looked at Phina.
"You don't understand, there's more to the story." Phina insisted.
"Bullshit, you just came here to drop your panties for the King so that you could get more secrets to sell!" Gertrude snapped.
"That's a lie!" Phina exclaimed as Selina came over to defend her.
"She didn't commit treason, her father did." Miss Zhou insisted. "Seraphina is innocent of this. If we blame the family of a person who committed such an act, we'd be no better than King Maxon II!" The girls were getting into it and a servant ran to fetch the King. Peter arrived and decided to break up the verbal cat fight before it could go any further.
"That is enough, what in the Hell is going on here?" He inquired as he started down his elite.
"Apologies your majesty, but it seems that we have a traitor amidst our midst." Gertrude accused as she pointed at Phina.
"I found this in my room that says her old man was a New Asian spy!" Rosalind exclaimed as she handed hike the folder. After reading it over for a few minutes, Peter rubbed his temples in frustration.
"Look, I am going to talk to Phina 1 on 1 before I make a decision." Peter insisted as he led the girl from Whites into a hallway.
"It's not what you think." Phina insisted.
"Look Phina, you need to tell me what is going on right now." Peter ordered as she heaved a sigh.
"Maxon was going to sell me off to Prince Carlos of Spain, but that didn't work out." She explained. "Carlos saw that I was being coerced and refused to marry me...King Maxon was furious and beat me, I think that was the final straw for my father, seeing me hurt..."
"I am so sorry that you went through that and I am not going to eliminate you because of that." He assured her as he held her hands.
"Thank you and...there's one more thing you should know."
"Now what?"
"King Maxon arranged another marriage for me...to King Benito II of Italy." Phina admitted. "I just assumed with Maxon's death that it was off, but I don't know, he could still try to, you know, marry me..." Peter groaned as he put his head to the wall. Benito II was a known tyrant and the current terror of Europe.
"Look...It is not your fault that this happened." Peter insisted. "It is that bastard Maxon II! We will deal with Benito when and if he comes." Phina nodded as she teared up a bit. Peter quickly wrapped her in his arms as he assured her that she was safe with him.
