Living like a Marine soldier is not fun.
You need to wake up at dawn everyday, train your fucking ass off until you vomit, sleep at midnight like a log, and then repeat.
And the fact that I barely reached 13 while the other trainees are mostly adults makes it even worse.
While it's nice that some of them pamper me when I vomit the non-existent contents of my stomach, it feels like they're mocking me. So sometimes when it's sparring sessions, I choose them as my sparring partner(s).
Sometimes I lose, sometimes I win, but nonetheless they're all pretty impressed by this snotty brat. Not only because of my connection with Garp, but also my stubbornness to keep on standing back to my feet until I literally passed out.
One of them is apparently Hakuryo no Smoker, and the other is some preteen named Ellix.
Smoker seems to have a soft spot for kids (not surprised, because I still remember the anime scene), while Ellix is a pretty okay lot. He's just a year younger than me (I think), so we get along just fine.
Those two are my frequent sparring partners for Haki and Rokushiki respectively, because apparently Ellix managed to master all six of them and he's not even 13 yet! He's quite a prodigy.
"Eris-chan," Ellix calls one day, "I heard that you came here to train, but not to join the Marine. Why's that?"
I stop chewing on my lunch and I look up at him straight in his eyes. He has pretty light blue eyes, like a pair of aquamarine gemstones.
"Because I hate the Marine and the World Government." I answer truthfully and go back to eating my lunch, not minding his surprised expression as I continue again, "why would I join forces with my brother's murderers? I won't betray him like that."
"...Oh." He replied sadly and guiltily, "...I'm sorry about your brother." He softly apologizes.
"It's okay, you're curious." I shrug and push Flame away, who keeps telling me to share my meat, but I'm not letting him take mine!
The rest of that lunchtime gets awkward after that, but I don't really care too much about it.
"What about you? Do you have any siblings?" I decided to ask, changing the topic.
"Oh no, I don't have any. Or at least, I don't think so." Ellix replies with a nervous smile, "you see, I don't exactly know where my biological family is."
"How come?"
"Well, I guess you can say that I was…sent away? I don't really remember much of my childhood before I was 5, but I have a feeling that it might have something to do with the reason why I was sent away by my biological family."
"I thought Oren is your dad."
"He technically is, just not blood-related. But he's still my family!" He grins sheepishly and I smile in return.
"Don't worry, I understand that relationship." I tell him, "after all, me, gramps, and my brothers aren't exactly blood-related either, but we're still family."
"Wait, you're not?!" Ellix exclaims out in surprise, "but you both are so similar to each other!"
"I'm not! Don't lump me in the same dump as that shitty old man!" I scoff and scrunch up my nose while he just laughs nervously.
"I suppose family habits still pass down, blood-related or not."
Ellix is still a Marine (in-training). He was seeing things in black and white when we first met, because he's the only kid in the HQ filled with adults before I stepped in. Fortunately I met his dad, Oren, and he's not that bad of a guy. Or at least, for a Marine standard anyway. So Ellix still has so much to learn, especially about the way the world works.
Now, dealing with Smoker…is a different case.
He looks younger than I thought he would be, but my god he needs to stop smoking in front of me!
"Old man, I swear to god if you smoke near me again…" I didn't continue because Smoker glances at me and chuckles as he puts out his cigars. Seriously, why the fuck should he smoke not only one, but two cigars?! I know he's a smoke Logia, but dear lord…
"Are you ready?" He asks as I stand at my place and bring up my fists.
"I'm going to kick your ass this time." I tell him with a smirk and he smirks back.
"We'll see about that, brat." He replies.
Clashing my knuckles together as black coating covers my fists, I run up to him and jump to deliver him a punch, but he easily wisps away as my fist hits the ground and cracks it. I quickly turn around and dodge to the side as his smoky hand is closing in on me and I immediately grab on the trail of smoke. I open my mouth and coat my teeth black before I chomp down on smoke, but unfortunately the part I'm about to bite down immediately dissipates away.
"Stop biting like a damn dog!" Smoker says in annoyance, but I just give him the tongue before we continue our training.
Training with Smoker actually concerns me.
He's not the Captain of Loguetown Marine base yet, but he will be later in the future, and having a run-in with him is the last thing I wanted because my god he's so persistent!
Even so, he's a pretty chill guy when he's not on duty, but he's super fiery when he is. No wonder he's literally smoking. Either that, or he's just fond of kids.
But still, I'd rather have him as my trainer rather than the other Logias, because the only other Logias I know are the RYB trio and I'd rather die than train with those monsters.
Other times, I train with Garp himself when he's not on duty to go somewhere.
…I don't need to elaborate more on how it goes.
Still, sometimes I get glimpses of the RYB trio, but I actively avoid that red dog.
Aokiji sometimes shows up when I'm training with Smoker. Those two are buddies, so it's not a surprise. He gives me an ice rose sometimes, and I usually eat it in front of him. He seemed amused everytime.
Meeting Kizaru is always a by-chance meetings. Either he got lost (for some reason), or just looking for me in general. I don't know why he was looking for me, but I feel no animosity from him, so he's okay.
But even with my fastly developing Kenbun, I still can't fully detect that red bastard that I still managed to have a run-in with him and bumping into his stupid long legs after turning a corner is definitely not what I thought our meeting is going to be, but it happened.
Thankfully, I was with gramps at the time, and I immediately bolted up behind his legs while giving that guy an unblinking death stare.
"Yo Sakazuki! How's it going?" Garp greets him with a big grin, subtly putting his big hand to my head, reining me back from actually jumping at the red bastard and ripping open his throat with my teeth.
"Vice Admiral Garp," Akainu greets back and glances down at me, "and granddaughter Eris."
I growl at him as I bare my teeth at him, and he just raises his eyebrow in question but doesn't really react to it as he turns back to look at Garp.
"Sorry about that. Eris isn't exactly friendly towards strangers yet." Garp waves it off, "and you both haven't exactly met that often yet too."
"Yes, I can see that. Or she's just actively avoiding me." Akainu comments as he looks down at me again, "is she an Otherworlder?"
At that question, Garp immediately pushes my face into his pants while he laughs it off.
"Don't be silly. She's just some weird kid I found hanging around with my grandson and for some reason she just loves wearing eye contacts with weird designs." Garp replies as he picks his nose, "but sorry to bother you, but the brat needs to go and train with that Ellix kid."
"You and Oren need to rethink your decisions to bring children here. They'll be distractions and bad examples for the other soldiers." Akainu scoffs, "this is not kindergarten."
Garp just laughs at that, but doesn't exactly reply to that statement as he starts to walk and pulls me along.
"See you around, Sakazuki!" He bids off with a wave of his hand, and Akainu doesn't reply as he starts to walk away. When we're far away from him, Garp stops and gently taps my shoulder. "You good?" He asks softly.
"...No." I huff out.
"Wanna elaborate your thoughts?"
"...I hate him."
Garp is silent at that and he gently pats my head. He doesn't know what will happen in the future, nor I really have the intention to tell him (yet) because I don't know if he will tell Sengoku about it or something, so better fool your friends first before the enemies.
"He may be extreme at times, but he's not that bad." He tells me and I clench on his pants tighter.
If only you know, gramps…
"I wanna kill him."
"Not when you're weak, brat. Be stronger first if you wanna fight the world."
He doesn't need to tell me that, because I will still do it without him telling me that.
Despite my strict and tight schedule, I've had my fill on eavesdropping on almost everything I can have my ears in.
Pacifista project. Yonkou's movements in the New World. The extensive search for 'Garu'. The slowly rising of the new generations of pirates. Vegapunk's research on Devil Fruits. The Revolutionary Army's growth and development. Sightings of Nico Robin. Doflamingo reigned back to Dressrosa. The plan to replace the Shichibukai system. The neverending bridge-building of Tequila Wolf. And the list went on and on.
There are so many important things I gathered, and I've managed to write most of them all into my pocket notebook. Whether I will use them all later in the future or not, I'll leave that to my future self. Maybe I will sell the information to the press, give it to the Revolutionary Army, or both, who knows.
Other than that, sometimes I get free time and I use it to bother Sengoku by plopping down on his desk and just watching him.
At first, he ignored me, but nowadays he started getting annoyed when the first thing he saw in the morning was me, just sitting on his desk and calmly reading his reports. He keeps driving me away with a yell, but that didn't stop me from going back and bothering him. Serves him right, for trying to make big shit out of Ace later in the future. I'm gonna make his life miserable as long as I'm here.
Not only that, but also I'm trying to learn more about him and his DF power.
I need to be prepared for our future clash. Either I will clash with him or not, it's not wrong to be prepared.
"You know, Sengo-chan," I start one day, after he's doing his best to shoo me away to no avail, "what would you do if someone you care about was killed by your coworker?"
At that, he falls silent as he raises his brow in question. "What do you mean?" He asks instead and I shrug.
"Oh you know, what if your son was killed by his brother, who's one of the current Shichibukai?" I ask again, a little more specific, "what would you do then? Will you kill him for that, or will you keep him alive because it's one of the systems your boss made?"
His eyes widen for a bit as he grips on his feather pen so hard it snapped into two. I just watch it blankly as I see his conflicted look before he puts his hand to wipe his face and massages the bridge of his nose.
"Can you please just bother anyone else but me?" He pleads in exasperation. I tilt my head in response. He can plead all he wants, but I don't care about him.
Making him suffer makes me happy.
"Rosinante was killed by Doflamingo." I told him with a smile that didn't reach my eyes, "He betrayed the Marine and his brother for one child that hated the world for destroying his life. And in exchange for Rosinante's life, that child is happily living for him and will seek revenge in the future."
"Isn't it hilarious? Two former Dragons with different views of life, but the one that sees others as lower than him is the one that won." I continue with a sadistic grin as he looks more stunned than before, "So tell me, Sengoku. What would you do now? Will you go against your boss, or will you keep your head down to serve them?"
Sengoku is staring at me with a hardened look while crushing on the rest of the feather pen. He looks shocked, conflicted, and confused at the same time that it is kinda hilarious to see. As hard as steel, and it almost makes me regret my running mouth, but I stand my ground by staring back at him before the door slides open by none other than Garp himself.
"There you are, brat! Stop skipping your training!" Garp yells out as he stomps at me and grabs me by the scruff of my shirt, "I have free time now, so you're training with me instead of that smoking brat." He told me with a smirk and I grimaced in return.
"Ugh, can't you wait? I'm having a heart-to-heart conversation with Sengo-chan." I protest and he hits me in the head in response.
"I'm your grandpa, not him! You should spend your time with me instead of Sengoku!" He booms out with a scowl and I roll my eyes, but don't protest further as he turns to Sengoku. "Sorry for the brat. I'm taking her away now. Thanks for babysitting her!" He tells him before he walks away with me in tow, sliding the door close behind him.
It seemed like Garp didn't overhear my conversation with Sengo-chan, because he didn't mention it once before he trained me to death.
Just like Luffy, Garp is obnoxiously nosy. So if he didn't mention it at all, it means he didn't even know it.
After that, I don't really have the time to bother Sengoku again because not only I was busy with training, but he was actually away for some time to deal with some shits. Whether he took my words seriously or not, I don't really care. After all, I'm just a kid. Not many people will take a kid's words seriously anyway.
But enough about that, the one thing that blew my mind since I got thrown here is how the monthly menstrual cycle is practically nonexistent.
There's no such thing as bleeding and what shit, because apparently the sexual reproductive organs of the humans here are far more advanced than back in my homeworld. Although other than that, everything is the same just like what I've been taught.
Not only that, because both Ellix and me are the only children around, we got special sex education here and basically free birth control implants. It's a little weird on how super open they are about sex and genders and things like that in this world, but it's pretty interesting to learn and I learned more about myself. Plus, while the thought of having sex is kinda gross, I'm not gonna refuse free shit. And seeing Ellix getting flustered and blushing deep red is hilarious.
Hopefully it's not some kind of tracking chip, but at least I know where they put it if it's true so I can just rip it out. But gramps told me that it's not like that, so I'll trust his words. For now.
Other than that, my life in Marineford is pretty okay.
Sometimes gramps takes me (and Flame too, obviously) along to deal with pirates by throwing us both into the deck of the ship for us to die, but apparently we easily obliterate the pirates and burn down the damn ship. I had my fun too because the pirates are not those I know of, so I can put my all to obliterate them all down and laugh blissfully as they scream for help.
Even so, we never actually went to the New World. We mostly stayed in the Paradise, but that's fine by me. Dealing with stronger pirates and even Yonkou is the last thing I wanted. Plus, I'm not meeting Shanks unless Luffy is with me. We promised to meet later when the time is right.
Sometimes the pirates I dealt with called me 'the Eclipse of the Marine', which is something I'm not happy of because I'm not a Marine soldier and I refuse to be one, but also it sounds cool too that I can't fully complain about the naming sense. I guess that's what I get from training with gramps alongside with the Marine.
This reminds me of Zoro and his epithet as the 'Pirate Hunter' later in the future.
Well, hopefully I get a new epithet later when our piracy life officially starts.
Still, other than all of those, nothing much really happened.
Other than the fact that I kinda met Trafalgar Law one time.
It was Sunday morning, on a certain island in North Blue. I was just minding my own business by happily reading that 'Sora v. Germa 66' propaganda comic and actually managed to find a store that sells the series' merchandise.
I'd been eyeing Stealth Black's action figure that was on display, but unfortunately I don't have money on me. Ever since living with gramps, he's basically my living and walking wallet, but unfortunately he tends to be anywhere.
Ordered Flame to go grab him while I kept my eyes and hands on the figure (the owner actually let me hold onto it, the kind old lady) as I waited for gramps inside, suddenly the bell door rang and someone entered. I keep my eyes on the figure while I let my Kenbun work, revealing the guy to be looking around before spotting me.
Or the figure in my hands.
The guy approached and put his hand on my shoulder, so I calmly turned to look at him and literally took a double look.
A tall guy, with sharp golden eyes and a scowl, a spotted hat, tanned skin with ' H' tattoos on each of his fingers, and a long-ass sword.
He didn't have goatee and earrings yet, and it looked super weird on him and he looked younger.
Oh great, it's the famous Trafalgar Law.
I'd say, I saw the appeal of him. He looked handsome and hot, but only the textbook term of hotness.
And the goatee definitely added to his hotness level.
We both were staring at each other until he pulled his hand off of me to point at Stealth Black's figure.
"I saw it first. Give it to me, kid." Law said seriously. I just stared at him and the figure back and forth before I outstretched my hands back and away from him.
"Well, it's in my hands now, so I got it first." I replied with a huff, and he didn't look happy. "And I'm not a kid. I'm 13." I added and he snorted.
"Yeah? And I'm 20. I'm far older than you, kid." He replied with a smirk.
"Yeah sure, old man." I rolled my eyes and that ticked him off. "Don't you have anything better to do, old man? Pretty sure your bear is waiting for you." I glanced at the certain bear that'd been standing in front of the shop, anxiously waiting while looking inside.
"It's none of your business, Shorty. Now give Stealth Black's figure to me."
Hearing that nickname, I gently put the figure on the counter (the old lady was actually sleeping through our bickering) before I zipped myself to headbutt him on the stomach.
That caught him by surprise as he fell to his knees, holding onto his gut while letting out a pained groan as Flame entered the shop with a dog head shaped wallet. I took the wallet and put the amount of the figure's price to the counter, grabbed my figure, and walked past Law, ignoring him and Bepo outside as both of me and Flame returned to where gramps was supposed to be. He seemed pissed that Flame stole his wallet.
Law too seemed pissed that a kid caught him by surprise, but I quickly jumped on Flame and we rode off into the sunset before he could catch on to me.
And that was the first time I met him, and I don't think I wanna meet him again anytime soon.
And yes. I have my Stealth Black's figure and it is now my pride and joy in my room.
We don't visit the other Blues that often, only sometimes when Sengoku sends Garp off while I'm on board. It feels like a road trip for me, so I'm not complaining and Flame just loves to travel around with me. I guess it's mostly because I spent almost 2 years traveling with Takao and he wanted to know whatever he had been missing out on.
Even better, he gained more than what Takao experienced.
Speaking of Flame, apparently an animal learning Haki is absolutely unheard of, but he manages to learn how to use Buso-Haki alongside me. And he grew super big too. Like, he's around Garp's waist when he's quadrupedal now, which sucks and also not because my own wolf is even taller than me and he's basically my ride. I'm basically living in that Ghibli movie about that lady and her wolf.
So anyway, the Marine scientists kinda wanted to test some things on him, but I'm not allowing anyone to touch him unless they want their hands bitten off by both of us. They're persistent though, but Garp eventually made it clear that he's off-limits, so they mostly left us alone.
Not only Flame can use Buso-Haki, but we can kinda talk to each other, which is something totally unheard of too but I just thought that it has something to do with Kenbun-Haki because it is basically just extra ears for me to 'hear' things.
But that made it easy for me to eavesdrop more, because while our communication isn't the best, I can still grasp whatever juicy news Flame overheard and write it down in my notebook.
I definitely will give all of the information I gathered to the Revolutionary Army or the press. Either giving it to Dragon himself or someone else that's in the same group in RA, or sending it anonymously to the guy in charge of the press. Nothing gives me joy more than making the WG suffer.
Unfortunately I can't enter Mary Geoise for more extra juicy bits, but I've heard enough from Marineford. I shouldn't bite more than I can chew.
But other than that, I also keep my eyes on the Admirals.
Kuzan is the easiest, because he's more approachable and shows up very often as long as either Garp or Smoker is around, or literally anytime he's not working. He's mostly chilling on his lounge chair in the garden, or sleeping on his sofa in his office. I like spending time with him and complaining about Garp and Smoker to him, which he seems amused by.
"Today, gramps stole my cake AGAIN! He said that 'brats like you should eat something healthier than these', but veggies are gross!" I grumble while crunching on the ice sunflower he gave me.
"He's just thinking about what's best for you. Don't be too hard on him." He calmly replied and I slammed my fist down on his coffee table.
"I would think like that IF HE DIDN'T THROW ME INTO THE WALL EVERYDAY!" I yell out and growl angrily when he just chuckles in amusement, "DON'T LAUGH AT MY MISERY, YOU DAMN ICE HEAD!"
"Well, don't worry too much about it. You say that, but I'm sure you can handle it." He replies with a shrug as he leans back to his big shot chair.
"Obviously. I'm not gonna go down without a fight. I have a World Government to overthrow, after all." I scoff as I take my cup of black coffee and slowly take a sip. Ahh, the bitter, bitter dirty bean water, just the way I love it. "They stole something precious from me, and I'm not going down without their blood in my hands."
Kuzan is silent at that and just shrugs as he pulls down his eye mask and makes himself comfortable in his chair, letting the conversation end just like usual.
Obviously, he's weak to anything hotter than ice, but he's fast enough to counter that weakness. Fortunately, he's not that passionate to uphold the 'Absolute Justice' thing, but he can be persistent if he wants to.
Borsalino is…an enigma.
For some reason he wants to befriend me, but I don't know if he's too easy-going, oblivious, or just a little weird that I can't exactly read his intentions. Thankfully, he never openly shows aggression, so he's a little approachable. He's just like your weird tall-ass uncle that talks slowly that doesn't really pay attention to trivial things.
Sometimes, Garp threw me and Flame off to board along Borsalino's ship as they set sail somewhere, and then yelled out that we should try to spar with him.
That damn shitty gramps. Deciding things without my consent first!
"Ugh, I can't believe that shitty gramps just threw us onboard like we're cannonballs." I grumble as I rub the back of my head that hit the ship railings. I can see that it even cracked and it's a miracle that I don't get a concussion. Yet.
"Ooh, are Eris-kun and her wolf joining us this time?" I hear Borsalino ask in interest, "I appreciate Garp-san's help this time around, but you're still a child, Eris-kuun."
I turn and look up to see his usual easy-going smile while I just pout in return.
"Stop calling me a child! At least I can differentiate between ko den-den mushi and kuro den-den mushi, unlike you!" I yell while pointing at him, "everyone kept telling you the same thing for years and you keep on going that I'm starting to think that you're doing it on purpose, or are you actually that oblivious?!"
Borsalino scratches his cheek sheepishly. "Well, I'm sorry about thaat." He replies, "Sometimes old habit die hard, you knoow."
"Yeah well, try harder to kill that habit. Also, gramps told us to fight you while we're onboard, so hopefully we don't die so I can kick that shitty old man's ass." I tell him with a daring smirk as I'm clashing my knuckles together to coat my arms with Buso and readying my stance, while Flame's coating his fangs and readying himself next to me, "So we will be under your care until we return."
"Ooh? Is this another one of Garp-san's special training programs?" Borsalino calmly asks in interest while his subordinates are all panicking and starting to do things around the ship while telling the others on different ships what we're about to do.
"Yeap. You're one of the fastest in the world, so I need to practice to deal with enemies like you lot." Especially Enel. He's lightning and I don't think being electrified is a good way to die, because electricity is dangerous for humans and animals alike.
"Well theen, let's try to not go overboard this timee. We still need the ships to reach our destination, after aall." Borsalino replies with a smile and I grin at him.
"I'll try to spare one." And we both rush at him.
Of course, Borsalino is never openly vicious and actively being aggressive, but he's merciless when he wants to.
In the end, only one ship remained just like I promised and one of the Vice Admirals onboard is scolding us for destroying the others. Obviously, none of us care but dodging laser beams is pretty hard, on land and/or in the air that I got grazed a few times. I need to master Jalan Air more in the future.
Considering Borsalino is light, he can't move in a curve when he's in light mode. Maybe zigzag, but that is if there are reflective surfaces around, other than that he can only move in a straight line. I suppose his weakness is mirrors or any reflective surfaces that can change his directions, but that's about it. His beams are hot as heck too! They're pretty painful.
Sakazuki.
I'm not even interested in getting any relatively close to him.
Still, I wonder what happened to him that he has such a strong opinion about justice? What kind of dirty secret does he have that makes him resent pirates? Is he just a fanatic dogmatist that only cares for his own sense of justice? Is he like that because he got influenced by something or someone? Or maybe is he like that because he's just a loyal pet dog of the World Government?
I don't know, and I value my life too much to actually get closer to him to find out.
But from what I observe (directly and indirectly), he's mostly like that because it's both of his own sense of justice and based on the WG's orders, but mostly his own and that benefits WG on the way too.
Sakazuki is magma, and thus dealing with him will be the hardest. Either you master Haki to deal with him and to decrease the chance of him melting you down like a candle in the oven, you use the power of water to deal with him, or both. Either way, he'll be the hardest to deal with.
I scoff each time I see the word 'Absolute Justice' that litters all over the Headquarter on the back of most of the Marines.
What a cloudy sentence.
Still, it's not that bad here.
While hanging around in the Headquarter without any destination in mind, sometimes I met Vice-Admiral Issho, the future Admiral that will be known as Fujitora. He knew me from when I jumped from the top point of the base, and he used his DF power to stop me from plummeting into the ground and turning myself into a pile of bloody meat. He scolded me for that, but I just told him I was practicing my Jalan Air to stay afloat, which was unsuccessful in the end.
Unlike his debut in the manga, he's not blind yet when we first met. He has such beautiful wisteria purple eyes that will always look so kind when they look at me. It's such a shame he'll blind himself later in the future.
But unlike the Admirals, hanging around with him is much more relaxing and fun, plus he's the kind of law officer I've been looking for.
And he also showed me the joy of gambling in life.
"Issho-san. Why do you gamble?" I asked him one day. Growing up back in my homeworld, we were taught that gambling is bad and evil, but that's just those who see it from the darker perspective of it.
Issho blinks innocently before smiling. "Why do you ask, Eris-san?"
I hum as I sprawl my upper body on his kotatsu. So warm and toasty on a cold day such as today. "Just asking." I admit it simply and he chuckles.
"Well, it's mostly because it is a game of chance. I like to think that everything happens because fate wills it to happen, and gambling is just a way to predict those chances." He answers as he rolls his dice in his bowl, "don't you think it's exciting that even the lowest of the chances can still come victorious?"
I fall silent to that. My mind drifts off to my mission to save Ace in the future and to stay alive until the end of Luffy's journey to be the Pirate King. While I cannot fully change the previous chances of our lives, I can at least try to increase the chances of changes in our lives for the better. No matter how small the percentages are, there's still a chance that it will come victorious, just like how Issho-san said.
And I will keep on increasing the percentages until the chances are in our favor.
Smiling, I straighten myself up and look straight at him.
"Wanna bet the chance of my brother being the eye of the storm that will blow over the world later in the future?" I offer with a toothy grin.
He raises his brow, but I can see that he's interested.
"That depends. How big of a chance do you think he has?" He asks and I hum in thought.
"I'd say around 0,056% this year."
"And when do you think his chances will rise?"
"To me, by the time we're 17, he will be 100% but then again, I'm biased." I smirk mischievously, "But in the eyes of others, I'd say they'll only see it as a 5,6% chance, considering he's scrawny as heck and doesn't look at all intimidating."
"Hmm, pretty interesting. How can you be so sure that he will blow the world over?" Issho-san asks me curiously as he rubs his chin and I grin wider with a chuckle.
"He's a D, Issho-san. Of course he will. Every D will do so. They will bring a huge storm to the world, but especially my brother because he's the sun and he will bring dawn to the world." I explain to him and he listens carefully, "The world is dark and the future is unclear, especially with how the World Government stays in its course like this. Slavery, discrimination, genocide, and many things that the World Government never openly shows and outright erasing things just for the sake of 'justice' and 'order', when they're just afraid of the concept of 'freedom'."
He looks at me with fascination and wonder with a hint of sadness as he smiles somberly.
"That's quite a deep thought you have, Eris-san." He comments and I shrug.
"What can I say? I just really hate the World Government and their ways to save face instead of upholding actual justice. Not that I care much about human-made concepts such as justice." I reply and finish my mug of black coffee calmly, "They stole something precious from me, and no apology is suitable other than their blood in my hands. Or just them getting wrecked to bits." I add as I stand up with my empty mug to walk to the door and stop there.
"Also Issho-san," I turn back to look at Issho-san, who in turn looks back at me as I smile at him, "you have such pretty eyes. It'll be a waste to lose them. After all, there are still many sunrises to see in the future."
And just like that, I take my leave from his office.
I should get another mug of coffee and try to bother Ellix today. Yeap, I'm gonna do that by giving him the spider toy again.
All in all, while living in Marineford isn't the most fun and the freest, I'm adaptable enough to live my life for 2 years here. I'm glad Luffy only gave me 2 years to live and train here, because any longer I would've blow up and goes 'fuck it' before destroying the whole base to the sea.
But not yet.
I will be patient and wait until Luffy himself gives me the green light.
Until then, we will keep on going and becoming stronger.
(A/N: was not planning to put this in the main story, but I suppose why not? I had a lot of fun on expanding Eris' stay with the Marines.
Oh, and Ellix belongs to my old friend, OPFan37 on ffn. He has his own stories there with the old 'Eris' as cameo in one of his stories, so I thought 'why don't I just put Ellix in this rewritten version of the chronicle? It'll be a nice, nostalgic memory to remember' and so I did. I hope he doesn't mind I use Ellix again later in the future!
I don't usually use OCs because I cannot for the life of me bother to do so. And in-story, it makes sense why because the story is in Eris' POV and it's mostly because Eris never really pays attention to those she doesn't care about. Tho I will still use OCs for Eris' opponent(s) in the main plot. A few of them were actually made by OPFan37's ideas and sketches, and I'm just expanding it further to fit them in the story.
