Chapter Twenty – One. Stars and Dreams

Jedda looked on as she saw Usagi and Mamoru share a kiss. She then glanced over to Rick, who she was in a loving embrace with. They look as a shooting star fell down.

"Another shooting star." Rick stated.

"Do you find it weird that these meteor showers have been happening for the past few days?" Jedda asked.

"Not really." Rick shook his head. "It's rather beautiful."

He then let out a chuckle. "Yet, it's gotten to where I've ran out of ideas for wishes."

Jedda sighed as she had a strange feeling that she could not describe about these series of meteor showers that have been happening for the past few days. She felt Rick gently touching her shoulders. "What's your wish?"

"To be honest," Jedda shook her head, "I'm not sure, and it has nothing to do with the fact that these have been happening more than one night."

"So Usako," the two heard Mamoru ask his girlfriend, "did you make a wish?"

Jedda followed Rick's glance as the couple across from them were talking.

"I wish...for every day to be so peaceful," Usagi answered with a smile on her face, "and that Mamo would stay by my side forever."

Jedda smiled warmly, staying in the embrace of her own boyfriend. She then glanced at him for a moment before sharing a kiss of their own which lasted for nearly a minute.

"Shall we head back?" Mamoru asked after the kiss ended.

"That sounds like a great idea." Jedda answered.

"I agree." Rick nodded in agreement.

"Yeah." Usagi nodded in awe.

Jedda looked on as she went back into the mansion with Rick, Usagi and Mamoru.

Setsuna looked outside the window as the shooting stars were falling down the sky. She had found this suspicious lately as these meteor showers have been occurring for the past few nights. She couldn't help but to wonder if there was something behind this than beneath the eye.

"It's another meteor shower." she heard Cathleen speak up. Setsuna turned around, startled. Haruka and Michiru would follow suit seconds later.

"Cathleen!" Michiru exclaimed.

"What are you doing here?" Haruka asked.

"I thought I'd see the view of the latest meteor shower." Cathleen answered. "It looked quite interesting."

Setsuna eyed the woman with caution. It appeared as if she had more on her agenda than she was letting on, especially lately with these meteor showers happening. Mandrake was right not to trust this woman as she didn't trust her.

"Isn't it lovely?" Cathleen asked the group.

"Yes, it is." Michiru answered. "At the same time, there's a feeling as if something is about to happen."

"That's right." Setsuna nodded in agreement.

Hotaru looked outside the sky as she watched the meteor shower.

"Wow!" Chibiusa exclaimed. "It's so pretty!"

"Yeah." Kshin added. "Just like the past meteor showers that's been going on here lately."

"So, what did you wish for?" Hotaru asked.

"It's a secret." Kshin smirked as he crossed his arms.

"Awww." Hotaru groaned.

"What did you girls wish for?" Kshin asked.

"It's a secret!" Chibiusa and Hotaru answered in unison.

"Hey, no fair!" Kshin exclaimed.

Hotaru heard the door open. She turned around to see that Mandrake had just entered where the three were at.

"All right, you three." Mandrake told them. "It's way past your bedtime. School's tomorrow."

The three gave out groans in displeasure.

"No arguments." Mandrake replied. "Especially you, Kshin."

"Did you see the meteor shower, Mandrake?" Kshin asked.

"Indeed I did." Mandrake answered. "I watched it with Cathleen tonight."

"What did you wish for?" Hotaru asked.

"It's a secret, my dear." Mandrake answered. "If I told you, then the wish wouldn't come true."

He gave out a small chuckle. "I wouldn't even tell Cathleen what I wished for."

Hotaru yawned. "I'm getting sleepy now. I think we should listen to Mandrake and get to bed."

"I agree, Hotaru." Chibiusa nodded in agreement.

"Oh," Kshin slightly groaned this time, "all right."

Rick was running frantically, holding a hand gun. He had no idea what was going on at first but nonetheless, he was prepared for action.

"Nowhere to hide." an evil voice boomed in the area, which caused Rick to look around the room in weary.

"Who's there?" Rick asked aloud.

"Nowhere to hide." the voice boomed again.

He let out a small chuckle before stating with annoyance. "If this is Ming, he's being real clever at hiding."

"You cannot hide from what you will become!" the voice shouted, which caused alarm for Rick. He turned around to face a terrifying monster growling in front of him.

"You cannot escape!" the monster roared. "This is what you will become!"

"No." Rick yelled, trying not to show any fear. "No! I won't let that happen!"

"You don't have a choice." the monster replied. It tried grabbing at him but he managed to manage to escape his grasp.

Rick sighed with relief. The relief was short lived when he heard a loud roar and realized the monster was hot in pursuit of him.

The next thing he knew, the chase became overwhelming and the monster gained the upper hand and lashed at Rick. He found himself falling backwards. He felt himself sinking as he was falling.

"What...what's happening?" Rick asked.

Suddenly, he looked up to see a strange light appear. A small girl with pinkish red hair emerged from the light. He was in surprise as the girl was coming towards him and couldn't help but to notice she was wearing a sailor fuku, just like the Sailor Guardians.

"Are you hurt?" the girl asked.

"Who...are you?" Rick asked in confusion.

He felt a warm presence coming from the girl and couldn't tell if this was something to be scared of or if it was something that was welcoming.

-Sailor-Moon-Defenders-

Rick woke up gasping. He touched his bare chest, feeling his heart pound. He looked around to find himself in his bedroom. He briefly looked to see Jedda sleeping before looking around the rest of his surroundings a little bit more.

Rick took a deep breath. "A dream."

"Rick?"

He looked to see Jedda looking over at him with concern.

"Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yes. No. I don't know." Rick shook. He took a deep breath before he asked, "Remember those dreams you had during our ordeal with Hadea?"

"Yes. Why?"

"Well, lately I've been having dreams like that."

"What kind of dreams?"

Rick looked down for a moment before he explained, "Some kind of monster kept chasing at me. It was saying to me there was no escape. After it chased and attacked me, I saw a small girl."

Jedda looked at him with confusion. "What girl?"

"I don't know for sure." Rick continued to explain. "She was dressed like the Sailor Guardians and the dream ended when she asked if I was hurt and I asked who she was. Then..."

"Then what?"

"There was something about the warming presence of the girl." Rick looked down, trying to reflect on the dream. "I'm not sure if it was threatening or welcoming."

He paused as he reflected on the recent nightmares that he was having. "This dream is something I've been having lately. It feels more like a nightmare."

"It'll be fine, Rick." Jedda placed an assuring hand on her boyfriend's shoulder.

"I hope so." Rick replied. "I don't want to act on this nightmare."

"Ugh! Scum planet! Wherever I go, I see scum!" a woman in golden like armor exclaimed in disbelief as she left the planet she was previously at.

She looked around as she floated around the planets, frustrated. "Even my home planet was scum! Somewhere there must be a brightly shining planet with power that is suitable for me. It must exist somewhere."

"You desire even greater power, Galaxia." a feminine voice boomed.

"Who said that?" the woman demanded.

"I can tell you where you can find greater power. I, Chaos, will show it to you."

Galaxia looked on in awe, wondering what this power would be.

"The birthplace of the milky way is where seeds of heavenly bodies well up like a spring." Chaos proceeded to show her the incredible power in a flash of light.

"The Sagittarius Zero Star." Galaxia spoke in awe.

"That's correct. At the center of the milky way is where you will find what you seek." Chaos explained. "Come. I will show it to you."

She drawn towards the the direction in which Chaos was leading her to which lead her to the milky way. She stared in awe of the significant glow.

First, she saw a man with a golden glow and a blonde woman with a silver glow. The couple appeared to be holding each other in a loving embrace.

"What a beautiful glow." Galaxia noted in awe. "So this is the light of the Sliver Moon Crystal and the Golden Crystal, eh?"

She paused for a moment before she smirked. "Ah yes, this radiance will soon be mine."

She looked to see nine more young women, who each had their own glow. A girl with a blue glow, a bold girl with a red glow, another girl with a green glow, a blonde girl with an orange glow, a girl with a pink glow, another girl with a light blue glow, a girl with a sea green glow, a green haired girl with a dark red glow and a girl purple glow.

"Ah yes." Galaxia stated in satisfaction. "Such great power. There's even more power on this planet."

She sees a beautiful young woman next.

"This young girl has the most powerful jewel in existence known as the Necklace of Oros." Galaxia smiled. She was blown away with the power that existed in the mere planet Earth.

Then, she sensed another power. One that had not been awakened yet. "But wait."

Galaxia looked to see a young man with short blonde hair. "This young man has the significant power I desire. It may not be awakened yet but I believe it is what I can use to obtain star seeds easier."

"Yes." Chaos replied. "He is the key for your greater power. It is not awakened yet but pretty soon it will be awakened and when it does, you will have the power in which you desire."

Galaxia chuckled. "All that's a light worthy of a conqueror who stands atop the milky way Galaxy."

Author's Note: This Volume is probably one of the biggest arcs I have ever planned, let alone written. As a matter of fact, I've been waiting a long time to bring this concept to life in my fan fiction regarding Rick Gordon. It might even continue to Volume Four, depending on how the outcome of the chapters turn out.

I enjoyed the scene with my two OTPs of their respective shows. It's always lovely, especially when you pull off a romantic scene.

Setsuna eyed the woman with caution. It appeared as if she had more on her agenda than she was letting on, especially lately with these meteor showers happening. Mandrake was right not to trust this woman as she didn't trust her.

The Sailor Guardians, particularly Setsuna, are high on suspicion with Cathleen O' Connor and this volume is going to show that as her role in this volume will be revealed.

"You cannot hide from what you will become!" the voice shouted, which caused alarm for Rick. He turned around to face a terrifying monster growling in front of him.

"You cannot escape!" the monster roared. "This is what you will become!"

Even if it's indirectly, you should consider this nightmare Rick is having a foreshadowing of what's to come.

Here's where you get to see the mish mash of both the anime and manga of Sailor Moon. Which is something you might find educating if you haven't read the manga or even seen the Stars arc of the anime.

I decided to keep the identity of Chaos a secret for the time being as I felt it was best to save the major threat for the finale arc of Sailor Moon Defenders.

This arc is going to have focus on Rick and his changes that he will be going through in this arc. Galaxia is acting as she does in the manga, power hungry and after all the Sailor Crystals and greater power.
