Matthew's POV:

"Uggghhhh... "I groaned as I sat up rubbing the back of my head. I felt like I just fell down a flight of stairs… Oh wait… I did! I thought. I began looking around the room. I wouldn't even call it that it looked more like a cell. Hanging from ceiling was a string of lights to light up the room. The walls looked to made of concrete, in one corner was a toilet and sink. Across from it was a small mini fridge with a storage box of what looked like snack cakes, chips and bread sitting on top of it. Whatever this place is, someone plans on keeping me here. I got up from the bed I was laying on and walked over to the door that was directly across from the bed. I tried turning the knob, but no luck. It's locked.

"JESSE! Let me out of here! My parents are going to be so upset when they realize I'm gone!" I screamed pushing and pulling on the door. I felt myself hyperventilating. My thoughts started racing. I feel my body shaking with panic. I pressed my ear to the door to listen for any movement, but I didn't hear anything. Suddenly from the corner of the ceiling above the bed, a speaker cracked.

"Hey buddy! Sorry about your little tumble. If you would have just not fought with me, I wouldn't have shoved you." Immediately, I recognized the voice as Jesse.

"Why are you doing this? What did I do to you? You just moved here!" I said in a panic voice.

Jesse again said from the speaker," Matty, Matty, Matty I actually been around for a while. I went to high school with your parents actually..."

"My- my parents… but they didn't recognize you?" I said confused. From the speaker, I hear him laughing.

"That's because I made them along with everyone else in the town forget me. It happened after I asked your dad, Ethan, out on a date. I been alive for a while now… 200+ years now to be exact...I've never met anyone as handsome and charming as your dad. Sure, I have had love before, but Ethan felt different. He was different. So, one day, I asked him out on a simple date and to go to the school dance with me. I had roses and a cheesy sign made up like the ones you would see in a Rom-Com. Sadly, Ethan said no. Something about me turning his friends into vampires was not boyfriend material. But ever since then I vowed to have him. Because I know he is my true love."

I sat there for a moment… "So, you think kidnapping me, will help your situation? And how exactly did you make a whole town forget you." I asked puzzled. Suddenly the tiny window that was concealed on the door opened. As I looked through the glass, I saw Jesse holding a microphone and another person standing next to him. They soon both walked forward into the light.

"Well with the help of my friend here." Jesse said with an evil smile as he gestured towards the person. I soon heard a woman giggle.

"This is Stephanie. She is a very powerful witch and oddly enough a very talent cheerleader as I recall." She spun around showing off her cheerleader outfit, the exact outfit from our high school actually and proceeded to tie her blonde hair up in a ponytail.

"It's true you know; I was head cheerleader and head witch when I went to high school with your parents." Stephanie said. I looked her over and notice she looked about my sister's age. There was no way she went to high school with my parents.

Jesse soon dropped his smile and looked at me with a serious expression, "She made a spell that she was able to cast over the entire town to rid their memories of me, the embarrassing memories of my rejection and my evil deeds. I was able to start fresh. But by the time I returned, your parents were pregnant and dating. I was too late. I almost achieved my goal when I compelled Rory to kidnap your dad right before you were born. I amplified his affection for Benny and promised they would be together, he did almost anything for me after that. But obviously that failed." Jesse said gesturing towards me.

That's right… I remember Aunt Sarah and Pops talking about that when I was a kid. It was after one of my dad's PTSD attacks. It was terrifying watching my dad go through that, I ended up having nightmares that he would be gone, and I would be lost. I still get anxious thinking about never seeing my dad. I wish he was here now.

"So... w-what are you going to do to me?" I asked… almost scared to know the answer. Jesse spun around on his heel and pointed at Stephanie." Well, my friend here is going to do the same thing she did for me, but it will be for you…. Your sister….and your Pops." He said smiling. I felt the color drain from my face. "You- you're gonna take my dad and sister too…" Jesse laughed.

"Well of course! For the spell to be effective, you three can't be around when I erase the town's memories of you. That's the only way to ensure that Ethan will be mine. But don't worry. You all will be very happy together... dead." He said closing the tiny window on the door. "Lights out" Jesse shouted as he chapped his hands together and with that the lights on the ceiling turned off. I was left sitting the dark with my back pressed against the door.

"I wish my daddy was here." I said with tears filling my eyes as I laid my face down in my hands.

Third Person's POV:

"Hey Matthew! We're home!" shouted Ethan as he carried in bags of groceries. Katie soon following behind him with more bags. "Matty, you could have at least help carry in the bags!" Katie yelled walking into the kitchen setting the bags down. Ethan and Katie soon walked back to the front door taking off their shoes and placing them in the shoe rack. "Hey Matt, I'm gonna start cookin- "Ethan started to say when he noticed the pictures on the wall going up the stairs looked a little crooked. Ethan paused with a confused look on his face and walked up the steps. Fixing the tilted picture frame, he finished climbing the stair and walked towards the kids' rooms. "Hey Matthew, did you hear me? I said- "Ethan stopped in his tracks frozen staring into Katie's room. He noticed the window had been open with force that the lock was broken. He quickly looked toward Matthew's room and ran into the room. Ethan frantically looked around the room, under the bed, in his closet. He began running and looking in other rooms. Ethan feels his breathing increasing, his heart is pounding. "MATTHEW!" He screamed going from room to room.

Katie running up the stairs," Daddy? What's going on?" Ethan rushed past his daughter, running down the stairs. "Your- your uh- window was broken... my baby boy...Matthew... He's not here." Ethan said frantically as he started pulling out his phone and bringing it to his ear.

"9-1-1 what's your emergency?"

"I would like to report a kidnapping." Ethan said sternly, looking over at Katie who had a shocked, wide-eyed expression on her face. Just then they hear a car door shut, and car locking beep. Benny walks up to the front door and swings it open. He smiles when he sees Ethan and Katie standing in the living room and says, "Papa's home!" opening his arms up wide. Katie and Ethan look over at him with concerned looks on their face. Ethan still on the phone walks into the kitchen. Katie runs over to Benny and throws herself in his arms. "Oh Papa! It's Matthew! He's gone" she said breaking down into a sob. Benny pulls her in deeper, his smiling face soon turning into concern, and he looks through the living room into the kitchen to see Ethan pacing back and forth on the phone.

Not again. Benny thought.
