(This is primarily going to be field shenanigans in Hisui, as well as present day stuff for our intrepid merchant!

The Reviews

Jacob9594: Funny thing is if they accepted his offer right then and there, Volo would've said that they were a 'delightful find'. Tauros crap you can't call a woman a delightful find upon meeting them and for them to NOT be creeped out!

Logbook: It's one small step in surviving in Hisui, but it is a great leap on the road to saving the bond between people and Pokemon.)

Earlier in the present day…

After Key had finished her call with Finn, Isabella, and Jake, the merchant entered the bathroom of her well-kept and brightly colored apartment, looking at herself in the mirror as she began to prepare for her trek to find the way to Hisui in the past. Jake's words resonated with her as she reflected on what her plan would be.

'Surely you have a life of your own now, right?' Truth be told, the merchant did have a life of her own, but her mind wandered back to that day she met Aubrey. There was something about the ranger that sparked something inside of her, and seeing her deeds only served to light a fire. It was more than wanting to help Aubrey and Vanessa on their mission - she still had her reasons for getting involved, but Key had something she needed to be honest with Aubrey about, and she was always one to strike while the iron was hot.

"Alright." Taking a deep breath, Key was ready to go.

After using some time to pick proper equipment out, Key would settle on a new look that would help her in the land of Hisui - a crimson long-sleeved tunic under a sandy brown hiking jacket, and matching dark brown trail pants, and black ankle high boots. Slung around her shoulder was a cobalt blue bag storing essential supplies that her ranger friends would appreciate, decorated with the archipelago of the Sevii Islands, her home.

Once she had everything in order, Key made sure her door was locked and her Pokemon on her person, heading outside and calling out Corviknight.

"Corviknight, we need to make it to Sinnoh as fast as we can. If Arceus sent them to the past, that's where we should be able to find him," Key told Corviknight.

"Corrr!" Corviknight cawed, taking flight once outside, a determined glare in his eyes.

Back in ancient Hisui…

As the rangers trekked along west from where they started, Aubrey stretched her arms in thought.

"Okay, so...how exactly are these Poke Balls made anyway?" She asked. "It's like, yeah I know Apricorns are used and all, but I mean like the actual process."

"That is a very good question," Vanessa responded, having a thoughtful look.

"Osha?" Otzawott himself looked puzzled at what to do, but had an idea. "Wott wott, osh."

"Oh yeah, we can bug Rei to show us," Aubrey responded. "Good point, Otzawott."

"Oh good choice!" Vanessa agreed.

"Cynda!" Her Cyndaquil was certainly happy.

"Guess we can do that later then," The older ranger suggested, spotting a Buizel looking for a scrap. "Okay, be on standby, Shinx."

For Pokemon that just met her, Otzawott and the Shinx were quick learners in how to work with a ranger - Shinx using Thunder Shock to provide a Poke Assist as Aubrey made the capture.

"Well I can see they became fast friends," Vanessa mused. "Oh, Buizel. I always liked them." She had to sidestep a blast of water from one. "Though these ones seem aggressive."

"I got a plan - we use our Capture Stylers, get the info we need from the Pokemon, and release them back into the wild like we normally do," Aubrey suggested. "Sounds good?"

"Sounds good to me!" Vanessa readied her own Capture Styler. "Capture on!" With their combined efforts, they'd be able to tame the Buizels, Aubrey having a cheery smile.

"Way to go, you two!" She complimented. "Now let's get what we need from ya and send you on your way, Buizel."

The Buizel with her was pretty relieved that it wouldn't be shoved inside one of those Poke Balls. As was the one with Vanessa, for it went and happily hopped back into the river.

"We can explore a bit longer, yeah. We weren't given a time limit on our test anyway," The older ranger sent the Buizel on its way after getting the observations needed for the Pokedex. Though as Vanessa could tell, her handwriting still needed work.

"Yeah." Vanessa nodded and glanced to her left. "Oh hey, Ponyta…" She heard a sparkling sound and blinked. She couldn't see where exactly the sparkling sound came from, but Aubrey noted Vanessa's silence.

"Eh? What happened?" Aubrey asked. "You're kinda staring off..."

"Brey. Look at that." The younger ranger pointed to a Ponyta with blue fire.

"What about...is that a shiny?" Aubrey wondered. "I've only ever heard about these mons, never seen one in-" Her train of thought would be interrupted with a loud cry that could be heard from a decent distance away. "...That sounded like a Rapidash."

"Yes it did," Vanessa confirmed. "And yes, I am pretty sure that is a Shiny Ponyta."

The blue fire Ponyta didn't seem to take notice of the duo just yet, but Otzawott heard the sound of galloping approaching them, tugging on Aubrey's leg frantically and pointing out in the distance. "Osha osha! Osha!"

"What is- look out!" Aubrey would tackle Vanessa out of the way of a fire blast coming their way, narrowly avoiding getting blindsided.

"Woah!" Vanessa landed hard with Aubrey on the ground as both of them would look at the source of the fire. "...Holy…" A larger than normal Rapidash was the source of the fire, and its red eyes told them that something was wrong with it.

It was at this time the blue fire Ponyta looked up in shock, and concern for what was happening. "Pony…" He'd race over to see what was going on.

"Giant Rapidash - what in the world!?" Aubrey would get up off the ground, backing away slowly. "Eh, heh heh...hey there. Looking quite mighty today..."

"Yeah. Uh…lemme see what my scanner has to say on this one." Vanessa would slowly utilize her Styler's scanner to see what the deal was. "Oh…oh my…this girl is Very very powerful. Like around what you would expect to find at the end of Pokemon journeys powerful."

"Lemme guess, it's way out of our league?" Aubrey grimaced.

"Right now…yes." Vanessa too was worried about this. Before Otzawott could try and stand up to this giant Rapidash, the blue fire Ponyta would be crying out, racing up to the scene.

"Pony ponyyyyyyy!"

This caught Rapidash's attention, turning over to look at the approaching Pokemon. Even in its frenzy, the rangers could tell that this particular Ponyta's arrival was something to keep it calm.

"I wonder if Rapidash is one of its parents…" Vanessa theorized.

"What I'd like to understand is what they're saying..." Aubrey whispered back. "Though I guess we'll get the story in a moment."

The Ponyta and Rapidash would be in a conversation for a moment, Ponyta looking up at the large Rapidash with pleading eyes, begging for its attack to stop. Rapidash would think this over, before bowing its head and trotting away. The older ranger let out a sigh of relief.

"Thank you, Ponyta...you saved our hides there," She thanked.

"Pony!" Ponyta responded, letting out a pleased huff.

"Thanks, little one." Vanessa patted Ponyta's head. "I have a Rapidash myself at home."

"Ta?" Ponyta tilted his head to the side. Otzawott would be the one to communicate with Ponyta, catching him up on the situation.

"I gotta ask though...why go through the trouble to save two people you've never met before?" Aubrey asked.

As Ponyta responded, Otzawott got an idea - he'd start doing a sort of charades routine to translate what Ponyta was saying.

"Oh hey, Tenor did this too," Aubrey smiled. "Okay, lemme see if I get this straight...that Rapidash is your mom."

"Pony."

"When you went to bed one night it was normal sized as you remember."

"Pony."

"And then you woke up the next morning, suddenly your mom was all giant and irritable."

"Ponyta..."

"There there...you want to find out what happened to her, don't you?"

"Pony. Pony...pon pon," Ponyta continued to explain what his situation was, Otzawott continuing the translation.

"Well Van, looks to me like Ponyta here has questions he wants the answers to," Aubrey summarized. "Not only does he want to know why his mom got all big and angry, but he wants to know why his fire is blue compared to his siblings' red fire."

"Well then." Vanessa had a smile. "Why not bring him along? I think he would fit good with ya."

"You sure you wanna come along with me, Ponyta?" Aubrey asked.

"Ponyyyyyyy!" Ponyta responded cheerfully.

"Alright then, if you're willing to follow us to the edges of this region, we'll help you find out what happened to your mom," The older ranger agreed. "Mmm...would you mind if I call you Axel?" Admittedly, it was the first name to come to mind.

"Ta!" Ponyta agreed.

"That sounds like a good name to me!" Vanessa seconded.

"Alright, Axel! Glad to have you with us!" Aubrey smiled. "Now, let's try and get our required mons before it gets dark, shall we?"

"We shall, Brey!" Vanessa smiled back.

The two would go ahead and get the Pokemon they needed to get - two Bidoof, two Starly, and two Shinx, one for each of them. And just in time as the sun was starting to set. They'd meet up with Laventon and Rei back at base camp, and both were surprised by Axel and how well they did.

"Oh wow! You two did it!" Rei smiled. "Three species of Pokemon caught in no time. Guess the rangers are no joke where you come from, huh?"

"And this Ponyta...it's different from the Ponyta we know," Laventon mused. "I'll have to study this one in det-"

"Sorry man, but Axel's riding with me," Aubrey quickly spoke up, explaining his situation to the other two.

"Wha- a giant Rapidash?! And it had red eyes too?" Laventon was taken aback by this revelation.

"I can't say I've seen that before..." Rei frowned. "What should we do about it?"

"She seems content to stay in her area and is this little one's mother," Vanessa reported.

"Yeah, I suppose I can suggest to the captain that we leave Rapidash alone till we have more information about these big Pokemon," Rei agreed. "Still, it's crazy...first you two fall from the sky, impress the professor in catching our escaped Pokemon with your strange equipment, and now you pass Captain Cyllene's test with aplomb!"

"I'm gonna be real with you, this sounds like a Mission Clear to me!" Aubrey beamed.

"That it does!" Vanessa had a happy look as the two struck their poses in celebration.

Laventon had an amused chuckle. "Well now, I suppose it's high time we get back to Jubilife Village and report your test has been completed and then some, rangers," He suggested.

"Sounds like a plan." Vanessa and Aubrey would follow the guys with the Security Corps escort back to Jubilife Village as the sun had set, and night was starting to settle in.

By the time the quartet returned to Jubilife Village, Volo waved at the rangers, having waited for their return.

"Ah, you're back!" He greeted. Aubrey would still let Vanessa do the talking as far as this guy was concerned. "So, how did your mission go?"

"Cleared with no trouble," The younger ranger reported. "We even made a friend."

"Oh, I see!" Volo perked up at Axel. "What a delightful find!"

"Yeah...he sure is," Aubrey responded. "I need to get a ball for him."

"Well Vanessa, are you about ready for that battle?" The blonde merchant asked.

"Sure!" Vanessa agreed. "Let's do it!"

Aubrey would give the two space as she stood with Rei and Laventon, the former giving her an empty Poke Ball to hold Axel in.

"Okay. Let's go, Togepi!" Volo would send out a Togepi to do battle.

"Aww, a Togepi!" Vanessa fawned over the adorable choice of Pokemon. "Go, Cyndaquil!"

With Cyndaquil out, the fight was mostly rough play with Tackle. As they did do battle, Aubrey would converse with Rei.

"I can't help but notice you're really uncomfortable around him, but Vanessa is handling him just fine," Rei mentioned. "Is there something wrong about Volo?"

"Well...shoot, I can't quite put my finger on it," Aubrey responded. "Just something about him gives me bad vibes. Probably my past experience talking and making me paranoid."

"Hmm, maybe that would do it," Laventon theorized. "Our behavior is shaped by past experiences."

"Guess that makes sense for me, but...I dunno. Not sure if I'm fully willing to trust him..." Aubrey folded her arms in thought. Cyndaquil looked like he was having fun fighting Volo's Togepi.

"Okay! How about an Ember?" Vanessa instructed, Cyndaquil sending out an Ember. With Ember hitting, it wouldn't take much more effort to wrap up the battle.

"Both sides did their absolute best!" Volo smiled, giving Vanessa props.

"Yes it was a good battle!" Vanessa agreed, kneeling down and petting Cyndaquil, who had run up to her and was very proud of his first battle win.

"Yeah, nice work, Van!" Aubrey complimented.

Recalling his Togepi, Volo would offer a handshake with Vanessa. "Well, I suppose I best let you head back to the Galaxy Building, yes? May we meet again."

"You as well." Vanessa nodded in response as Volo went off to a marked wagon with a white cover. After Volo had left, Aubrey and Vanessa would head to the Galaxy Building, and from a room with pink wallpaper they would hear someone in pain.

"Don't give up! Keep those eyes open!" A female voice exclaimed.

"The wild Pokemon...they were everywhere. Attacking from all sides..." A male voice groaned. "I sent out my partner Pokemon, but...against a whole pack...outnumbered..."

"This is what happens when you go so far afield!" The female voice scolded. "But the Medical Corps will put you right."

Aubrey rubbed the back of her head. "Sheesh...so you were laid out in there, Rei?"

"Yup...but don't worry, the Medical Corps are made up of really kind individuals," Rei assured the rangers.

"That's good. I'll see if they need any help later," Vanessa offered. "I'm good with medicine myself."

"Is that true?" Rei wondered.

"Yeah she is, she keeps me in fighting shape!" Aubrey confirmed.

"Okay, so both of you are good with Pokemon, Vanessa is good with medicine..." He looked at Aubrey. "What's she good with?"

"Beating up people," The younger ranger bluntly answered.

After taking one look at Aubrey, Rei would see that Vanessa was right. "Yeah...one look at her and I can tell she's a fighter for sure. Maybe she'd be a fit in with the Security Corps that Commander Kamado trains himself."

"Guess we'll meet him soon." Aubrey walked into Cyllene's office, showing her and Vanessa's results of the trial.

"It seems we won't have to leave you to die, after all," Cyllene commented dryly. "Congratulations."

"Uh...thanks?" The older ranger tilted her head to the side.

"Riiiiiiight…" Vanessa was admittedly unnerved by this. "So what now?"

"This." She would hand both of them a uniform similar to Rei's. "These are yours - the official uniform of the Survey Corps. Rei will show you to where you will be staying for your time working here. Get changed into these and report to the commander on the third floor. Present yourself in uniform to the commander. This is your first official order from your captain!"

"Okay!" As Aubrey would turn to leave and head outside, she felt the material and her smile dropped a bit.

"..." Vanessa was quiet at first. "...You feel it too?"

"Feel what?" Aubrey wondered.

"That these are not as good as our uniforms," The younger ranger responded.

"Oh yeah, definitely," Aubrey agreed. "That said, Cyllene didn't say we had to wear these day in and day out..."

"Yeah. Let's just put them on and ask if it is alright to wear our normal uniforms," The Sinnoh native suggested. "We represent an organization and are proud of it."

"Heck yeah we are!" Aubrey agreed as Rei was leading them along.

"Um...is there something wrong with the uniforms?" Rei wondered. "I figured that you'd prefer to wear pants, Vanessa, but I didn't want to be rude..."

"Oh, it's fine," Vanessa smiled. "I specialize in Water-type Pokemon so my own is more tailor made to work with them."

"So that means Aubrey works with Steel-types, or is the armor for her benefit?" Rei then asked.

"Pretty much, yeah," Vanessa responded with a nod.

"Suit yourself, you two," Rei noted, showing them to a small house they were provided. "Here you go. I'll wait out here for you two to change and get settled in."

"Very well." Vanessa went to open the door.

"You first?" Aubrey suggested. Vanessa took Aubrey's suggestion and changed first, followed by Aubrey.

"I'm not sure how I feel about this choice of footwear, man...but if it's only to present ourselves to Kamado this once, I'm fine with it," The older ranger mentioned.

"Works for me!" Rei smiled.

"I'm with you on that, Brey," Vanessa agreed.

"To be honest, I'm not sure when the captain decided to get those for you...maybe she's had a bunch of them lying around," Rei wondered.

"Ah, I'm not worried about it." Aubrey would enter the Galaxy Building first. "Okay, so you said third floor, right?"

"Mhm! I'll wait here for you two to come back down." Rei nodded in response. The two would head up the stairs to the third floor, as the lone room was the commander's office. The commander was a black haired man with sharp gray eyes, and wore a black and yellow kimono with a fur lined coat draped around him without the sleeves.

"I have been waiting for you two!" The commander bellowed. "I am Kamado, commander of the Galaxy Expedition Team! Hrmm...so you are Aubrey and Vanessa, yes? Both claiming to be 'rangers' according to Captain Cyllene..."

"Professor Rowan?" Vanessa would get a wary look from Kamado. "Ah…sorry you look like someone I know. Yes. We are part of the Pokemon Ranger Union."

"Hrmm. I have been briefed on your situation - and how you fell from the rift in the sky," Kamado responded, adopting a stance that showed he was ready to throw down. "Now then...show me what you are made of!"

Aubrey, of course, couldn't help herself and cracked a smile. "You're speaking my language already, sir!" She mused.

Vanessa let out a sigh. "I'll get the medical supplies ready."

"Oh c'mon, have a little faith in me!" Aubrey frowned, adopting her own stance. Kamado could see she wasn't a rookie at all - far from it.

"I mean for whoever loses," The younger ranger clarified.

Kamado had a laugh. "Do not worry. I don't think this will take very long."

"Bring it on, big guy!" Aubrey exclaimed, the two of them clashing - her freestyle mixed martial artist skill set versus what looked to be some form of sumo wrestling from Kamado.

"Huh. Sumo…" Vanessa was pleasantly surprised by Kamado's martial art of choice. "Interesting."

As Kamado promised, this didn't take long at all, both getting a few good hits in before Kamado had called for an end to the fight. "Well Aubrey! I must say, I'm quite impressed. If you weren't going to be working with the Survey Corps, you'd be an excellent asset to the Security Corps."

"Heh...yeah," Aubrey chuckled. "Sure would."

"Oh good, I get to save my supplies for later." Vanessa breathed a sigh of relief.

"Don't expect a warm welcome from everyone though," Kamado returned to his neutral, guarded body language. "Naturally, some will be slow to trust an outsider who quite literally fell out of the blue. The superstitious among us might see your arrival as a portent of disaster!"

"Not like we had a choice in the matter..." Aubrey responded. Internally, she cringed.

"Just how we ended up here, I suppose," Vanessa merely offered up a shrug. "We have our own reason for being here, but are willing to help you as much as you will allow."

"Since you have passed your trial, no matter how odd you rangers may seem, you're part of Julibife now," Kamado responded. "Dedicate yourselves to the work of the Galaxy Expedition Team, and complete the Pokedex!"

"Sounds easy enough to me!" Aubrey beamed.

"You say that, Aubrey, but be wary...Pokemon are terrifying creatures. Keep your wits about you as you work!" The commander responded.

"Okay okay, sheesh, we'll be careful," The older ranger responded. 'Man, and I thought the Chairperson could be strict at times.' She added to herself.

"Well, that is what I am here for, Commander," Vanessa reassured him.

"Keeping her in line?" Kamado wondered.

"I have done it for her before. She and I work well together," The younger ranger answered.

"Very well. I shall look forward to seeing how you carry yourselves in the Survey Corps," Kamado responded. "You are dismissed."

Aubrey would head out the office door with a frown. "Yeah...I can tell he's fully expecting us to punch him in the face and shoot him."

"Yeah. I get more bad vibes off him than Volo…but..I bet there is a reason for that. He looked a lot more guarded," Vanessa responded.

"And that's what's really setting me off about Volo, like..." Aubrey trailed off, seeing Vanessa roll her eyes. "C'mon, would you at least hear me out?"

"Of course. But not here," Vanessa answered.

Aubrey gave a nod of understanding when they went back downstairs to meet Rei.

"So Captain Cyllene wanted me to pass a message onto you two," He began. "She wanted you two to know you both start as a No Star recruit. In other words, no rank at all."

"Yeah, that figures," Aubrey replied.

"But, the better you do as a member of the Survey Corps, and you'll move up in ranks in no time at all!" Rei beamed. "And considering how good you two were doing, it should be no hassle at all."

"Well that sounds good!" Vanessa nodded with a smile of her own.

"Tomorrow I'll show you how to craft Poke Balls." Rei brought the rangers to their home. "Well, have a nice night." With a wave, he'd head off, leaving Aubrey and Vanessa to head on inside.

"Man, this feels more like a tent than a home..." Aubrey remarked. "Least I'm fine sleeping on the floor."

"Yeah. You can tell they are still building," Vanessa pointed out, taking a seat by the fire pit. Aubrey would join Vanessa in taking a seat.

"Okay, so...ready to hear me out now?" She asked.

"Of course!" Vanessa answered.

"Alright, so like, how would you respond if someone fell out of the sky and you've got no idea who they are, where they come from, and no way to verify it?" Aubrey started off.

"Well, they would be hard to trust at first, so we will have to earn it through our actions and being as open as possible," Vanessa answered.

"Yeah, and that's my issue with Volo. Here comes this guy who we don't know at all, but he already knows about us and is very open...almost too open," The older ranger pointed out.

"Well, he is a merchant," Vanessa brought up. "He probably wants us as good customers."

"I guess..." Aubrey thought back to Key, thinking about how she was open with her and Jake during Alola. She never had a problem with Key, so what was it about Volo that was driving her crazy? The only thing she could think of was Lusamine, a benevolent figure turning out to be crazy. Maybe Aubrey was seeing a bit of her in the Ginkgo Guild salesman? She shook her head with a huff.

"Now as for Kamado…" Vanessa closed her eyes in thought. "I'm willing to bet something happened regarding a Pokemon destroying his home. That might be why he is so guarded."

"We don't know that for sure...was there anything in his office that gave you that idea?" Aubrey wondered.

"More of a guess on his body language," Vanessa confided. "I say we approach that topic with caution. It would not do to lose access to a good Base like this one."

"Or just not mention it at all," Aubrey offered up a suggestion of her own. "Sounds like one heck of a touchy subject and a wound I'd rather not pick at."

"Yeah, if we learn anything, we learn anything," The younger ranger agreed. Aubrey let out a yawn.

"I'm telling you, there's something off about Volo...I don't know what it is, but he feels...like a different situation from Key. Maybe I'm just tired from this whole time traveling shenanigans," She said.

"Maybe. We will keep an eye on him. I have no doubt he has a role in what is to come," Vanessa wagered.

"Probably right on that one..." Aubrey would stretch her arms and walk on over to the floor bed for herself, slowly laying her head down on the pillow and drifting off to sleep in the Survey Corps uniform. She may not have been the biggest fan of how it felt, but it surprisingly made good pajamas.

"Good night, Brey," Vanessa whispered as she laid herself down for bed too.

Back in present day Sinnoh…

It would be later in the evening when Key would land in Canalave City in the Sinnoh region, looking around and spotting Mt. Coronet off in the distance.

"That should be my destination...whenever something big in Sinnoh happens, it's always at the peaks," The merchant mused. It's what one of her Sinnoh based co-workers would often joke about. She would find someone looking around frantically for what to do - a woman a year younger than Vanessa with the same hair and eye color, though her hair was tied up in a high ponytail. She wore a white lab coat with the sleeves rolled up with a black blouse underneath, blue capris, and purple sneakers. On her face was a pair of purple rimmed glasses just for show.

"Vanessa?" Key wondered, then shook her head upon getting a second look. "No, no, that can't be her. Too sciencey." Still, this person caught her attention, recalling Corviknight for rest and walking on over. "Allo there! You look troubled. Are you perhaps looking for a Vanessa Parker too?"

"Oh, I'm her younger sister Jasmine. You can call me Jazz," The woman introduced.

"And I am Kiara Dermott, but your sister and her partner know me as Key," Key greeted. "Proud sales rep of Sevii Mercantile, but I'm on a mission of my own."

"I'm going to assume you're looking for my Sister and her boneheaded partner?" Jazz asked.

"But of course!" Key answered with a smile. "But...boneheaded? I wouldn't exactly call Aubrey that...what gives you that idea?"

"Oh, just some stories Vanny told me," Jazz snickered. "But in all seriousness, I am glad she is in good hands."

"As am I!" The merchant giggled. "As for where they are, I know where they are. Should we go somewhere a bit less...out in the open to speak?"

"Sure. I have a hotel room close by," Jazz agreed. Key would follow Jazz to her hotel room in town, and once there, Key sat down on the bed with a bit more of a serious expression.

"Okay, do not freak out or anything," Key began. "I know where they are - they have been sent on a mission from Arceus himself into Sinnoh's past where it was known as the Hisui region. Their friends and Pokemon were worried sick about them. When I heard the news, I immediately offered to take it upon myself and make sure they're okay."

"..." Jazz fell down on a loveseat in shock. "Oh no."

"Is...something the matter about that?" Key asked, raising an eyebrow in concern.

"Well. This must be big if Lord Arceus is involved," Jazz answered.

"All I know is this mission was apparently to protect the bonds between people and Pokemon," Key informed.

Jazz took a moment to compose herself, soaking that bit of information in. "Interesting...very well. I'm assuming you want to get to Mt. Coronet the Spear Pillar in particular?"

"That's right. I believe that's where Arceus should be," Key answered. "All I need to do is convince him to let me help, go to Hisui, boom! I'll be able to see if the rangers are okay or need assistance."

"Well…I wish you luck on that first part." Jazz would get out a town map of Sinnoh. "You will want to head over here." She pointed to Oreburgh City on the map. "You will have to go up from here."

"Mmm, I see, I see! Sounds easy enough!" The merchant smiled, then thought of something. "Ah...phooey. How will I be able to inform everyone else that the rangers are okay?"

"That…is a good question," Jazz mentioned. "Maybe Lord Arceus can help on that front."

"Well if he sent both Vanessa and Miss Ranger off on this grand quest, surely he'd be willing to send news or find some way to have us communicate with our present day," Key mused. "Alright. I'll head out tomorrow at dawn. Do you...mind if I stay here for the evening?"

"Sure. They gave me a two bed room anyway," Jazz agreed.

"Thanks!" Key would head into the bathroom to get ready for bed, patting her cheeks with her usual, chipper smile. Tomorrow she'd be scaling Mt. Coronet, and heading into parts unknown. Not that it unnerved her. She was ready.

"Good kid," Jazz thought to herself, also getting ready for bed. "Hope she can do this."

(And that's a wrap on this chapter. Don't worry, we'll see an Arceus battle, but that's the next chapter. Stay tuned for that as we go on the road for the first of many new faces we'll see. Bye for now!)
