Chapter Forty – Two. Hello

"We're here, miss."

Amy looked up as she noticed the cab had made it to its destination. She nodded before opening the door. Then she got her luggage and made her way to leave the cab.

"So, visiting someone here?" the driver asked.

"Family." she quickly answered before leaving the cab. "I'm here to visit family."

After leaving the cab, she made her way to where she would be going. A place where the man who was her father. At least, that's what she heard. Her mother kept this secret from her for a long time but eventually she found out. Her mother was dead and it was time that she introduced herself to her father and everyone else who lived here as they were probably unaware of her existence.

She took a deep breath walking further to the home. There's no turning back now.

Amy looked at the big house. It was more than a big house, it was a mansion. She found the house so big and so intimidating. Her father must have been rich or something. She saw the gardens and then she looked at the front interior of the mansion as she couldn't help but to notice how neat the design of the mansion was.

Amy gulped upon seeing the gargoyles. Would they fly towards her and tell her she didn't belong? That was something she was worried about. She managed to keep calm. What am I thinking? I'm going to belong. I am Amy O' Connor and my father is going to know me. I have the right to be here. I have the right to know my father.

She looked further around her surroundings, seeing a volcano. How was that possible? There hadn't been a volcano eruption in years. She found that to be weird.

Amy walked to the wooden doors and took a deep breath. She wondered how she was going to explain this to her father. How was she going to tell him that she was his daughter? She pondered of decent thoughts and bit her lips as she appeared to be nervous.

She took a deep breath again and knocked on the door. She thought it would remain closed at first until she heard two bickering voices yelling, followed by the door being opened, revealing two young figures in front of her: a young Asian boy and a young girl with short black hair.

"Can we help you, miss?" the boy asked.

"Yeah, kind of." she nervously placed her hands to her jackets. "Actually, I'm looking for someone who lives here."

"Who would that be exactly?" the girl asked.

"M...Mandrake the Magician." Amy slightly stuttered with her answer.

"We'll let him know you're here." the girl replied. "Why exactly do you wish to see him?"

"He's not interested in subscribing to anymore magazines or anything else you might be selling." the boy added.

"I'm not selling anything." Amy looked up. "We...there's someone that we have in common and that would be my mother."

"And who is your mother?" the girl asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Cathleen O' Connor."

Amy looked startled as both kids looked at each other, paling in surprise. Then they looked back at her.

"Come on in." the boy glanced at Amy. "'Hotaru and I will let Mandrake know you're here."

The girl Hotaru nodded in agreement before she and the boy left to get Mandrake.

Amy sighed and walked into the mansion with her luggage in tow. Moments later, she closed the door behind her.

Mandrake took another sip of tea. He glanced at Setsuna, Haruka, Michiru and Lothar. They were all with him at the moment. The others were elsewhere at the moment. Sheila had taken Flash to a double date with Usagi and Mamoru by the latter's suggestion. Rei was outside at her makeshift shrine. Ami was studying in the library. Makoto and Minako were in their room. LJ and April were training at Monitor. As for Kshin and Hotaru, they were also in the mansion but he had no idea what they were doing at the moment.

"What's on your mind, Mandrake?" Setsuna asked.

He glanced over at Michiru. "How would you like to play the violin for us sometime, Michiru?"

"That would be a grand idea." Lothar grinned. "We saw how wonderful you played the violin at that concert with the Three Lights."

"And you were wonderful at the concert as well, Haruka." Mandrake looked over at Haruka.

"What brings that up all of a sudden?" Michiru asked.

"Mandrake!" the group heard Kshin call out.

Mandrake turned to see both Kshin and Hotaru enter the room.

"Kshin, Hotaru," Michiru asked, "what's going on?"

"We have a visitor." Hotaru answered.

"She says Cathleen is her mother." Kshin added. Everyone in the room exclaimed in surprise, hearing this revelation.

"Yeah." Hotaru nodded in agreement. "This girl said you and her had someone in common being Cathleen, who she says is her mother."

"How come we never knew Cathleen had a daughter?" Michiru asked.

"She never said anything to me." Mandrake shook his head.

"Why doesn't that surprise me?" Haruka scoffed.

"I think we should meet this young lady." Setsuna suggested.

"I agree with you there, Setsuna." Lothar nodded.

"That is exactly what we are going to do." Mandrake stood up from his seat. "Kshin, bring her here and we'll meet her."

"Okay." Kshin nodded before leaving the room.

"Do you think the girl is lying?" Hotaru asked before glancing around.

"I never said that, my dear." Mandrake answered. "I guess we'll have to find out when we meet her here in a moment."

Mandrake looked on as Kshin brought the young girl to the room where everyone else was. He was taken by surprise when he saw her for the first time. This young woman did indeed resemble Cathleen O' Connor. Dark hair, full red lips, pale skin. Snow White would come to mind when looking at her. She was also wearing a black top and denim jeans and black boots.

"She does resemble Cathleen." Haruka muttered.

"Hello there, my dear." Mandrake greeted the young woman. "Just who might you be?"

At first, the young girl appeared to be nervous and unable to make out the words she was trying to let out. After awhile, she finally spoke up. "My name is Amy O' Connor and I am your daughter."
