Platinumshipping (Pegasus x Kisara)
(This contains a reference to a new card that came out recently, called Maiden with the Blue Eyes. It's not yet available in America, but if you go onto Dueling Network you can find it in the Deck Constructor search. Also, it uses anime continuity, so Pegasus is still alive after Duelist Kingdom.)
He had definitely said to himself – and officially to the public – that he was done designing Duel Monsters. He had a big enough company to let other people do the details. Besides, he didn't want to paint ever again. There was no point anymore.
So why was he sitting in front of an easel, and why was there a painting half finished on it?
He stared at his handiwork, not even sure where it had come from. He had been sitting silently, doing nothing except thinking – a common pastime for him lately – and his thoughts had whirled into their usual chaos remembering the disaster of Duelist Kingdom and all of the mistakes he had made. He couldn't stop thinking about Mokuba. He had done a terrible injustice to that little boy. And Seto Kaiba, as well. What had possessed him so? How could he had really lost himself that easily?
His thoughts had gone in circles, like usual, from Duelist Kingdom to Mokuba to Seto to Yugi, to Duelist Kingdom again...
The next thing he knew, he was sitting in front of the easel and paint was flowing.
What had inspired this? He couldn't be sure. She was beautiful, that was to be sure. It wasn't Cyndia, though, and that was odd. The girl had hair the color blue platinum spilling down over her shoulders. Her dress was a simple brown, but it had decals of blue and silver that looked vaguely like the heads of dragons. Blue Eyes White Dragons, to be precise. Who was this girl, and why had she popped into his head so suddenly.
A soft sigh dispersed around the room, startling Pegasus to his feet. Some paint splattered across his very expensive clothes, but he barely noticed. Had he imagined that?
He looked down at the painting again.
And suddenly, his eyes were looking at something else entirely.
Desert sand fled outwards in all direction, a powerful sun beat down from a clear blue sky. There was a city here, with a glorious palace at it's edge. He stood on the streets of this town, looking out through the haze of heat and the hundreds of bodies swarming up and down.
And then he saw her: the fair skinned girl with the platinum blue hair among the tanned faces. She looked lost and alone, terrified beyond her wits. People threw stones at her, jeering in a language Pegasus did not understand.
Then inexplicably, her eyes found his. Those blue eyes bore into him like nothing else ever had. Pegasus tried to take a step forward, and found himself unable to move. A tall, tanned Egyptian man came forward, regal in his bearing and clothing. With an angry shout, he dispersed the crowd around the girl. Tenderly, he took her towards him and checked her wounds.
It was Seto – or at least, someone like him.
The scene altered, and then he was seeing the girl's eyes glow a blinding blue. The form of the Blue Eyes White Dragon appeared before her, raining lightning down from the heavens.
And then she was dying, cradled in the arms of that other Seto.
He returned to himself, back to the present, and stared at the girl he had painted. Somehow, he had finished the painting in the midst of the dream. Had that been all it was? A dream?
Sigh...
That sigh was real this time, he knew it. And when he turned around, he saw the girl, sitting at the edge of his bed, her hands folded in her lap.
She looked at him very quietly. He looked back at her.
Then she was gone.
"I was in four pieces, before," a soft voice whispered. "Now I'm whole again. Thank you."
Pegasus stared at the painting. He looked back where the girl had been.
Hm...maybe, one last card design...he thought he knew who he could give this new card to.
He wondered for a moment what Seto would think, what he might remember, when he saw this girl from three thousand years ago...
A/N: I just found out about this new card that's fantastic for summoning the Blue Eyes White Dragon, and dude, it's Kisara. It made me soooo happy, because finally there's a cooler card for Blue Eyes decks than stupid Kaibaman. Seriously. Next is Placateshipping (Ryo x Kisara).
