Pervertshipping (Sugoroku x Anzu)

Jingle, jingle, jingle...

"Good afternoon, welcome to Kame Game Shop...oh, Anzu-chan!"

It was midday at the Game Shop, not that you could tell. The dust on the windows was so thick that only the barest glimmers of light filtered through, and that only highlighted the dust floating around in the air. The opening of the door let both a flood of light and air in, stirring the dust and illuminating the cluttered game shop for a few moments. It also brought Anzu Mazaki with it.

The chestnut-haired girl smiled.

"Good morning, jii-chan," she said. "How is the shop?"

"Mm, same as ever, same as ever," Sugoroku said, nodding a few times. "I get the occasional customer."

"Is Otogi-kun still running you to the ground?" Anzu said with a slight laugh.

"Oh, he gets the brunt of the customers, I'll give him that. But I get the niche audience, and that makes the difference. It's all about the atmosphere, Anzu-chan. All about atmosphere."

Anzu nodded. She paused for a minute to examine at a precariously placed box.

"I'm afraid Yugi's not home yet. You're welcome to go up to his room to wait," Sugoroku said.

"Oh, no, that's fine. I never get to look around here much."

She picked up a different box and blew the dust off of it. Sugoroku grinned.

"Interested in that love tester? I could give you a deal for it."

Anzu flushed bright red.

"Ah, no, I said I'm just looking," she said with a slight stutter. Sugoroku laughed once, and she smiled sheepishly. She put the box back down and wandered down another aisle.

Sugoroku turned to busy himself with organizing the display case – it was a constant battle to keep everything even the slightest bit in order.

A small thump caught his attention, and Anzu's voice wafted back through the dim shop.

"Sorry! I didn't see that! It's okay, it's not broken!"

Sugoroku just smiled and shook his head. My, my, he could remember when Anzu was knee-high to a grasshopper. He had been so surprised the first day that Yugi had brought her over. Yugi had never brought friends home before – especially not a girl. He had never seen his grandson smile so brightly as he had that day. It was thanks to Anzu.

Anzu reappeared from the shelves, still staring at a box in her hand as she walked.

"Actually, I think I might get this. It looks interesting."

Standing like that, cocking her head as she stared at the box – for a split second, Sugoroku could see Ume. Such a petite thing she had been, so curious. She had worn her black hair in the same style as Anzu's. The similarity of the scene was striking.

Sugoroku shook his head to clear the memory. Although, it was nice to think about Ume again.

"Uh, how much is it? I can't find a price..." Anzu said, turning it over a few times.

"Go ahead and take it," Sugoroku said.

"Huh? I can't do that, jii-chan."

"No, really. You can have it. It's the least I can do; you've always been so kind to Yugi."

"Oh, jii-chan, of course I'm kind to Yugi – he's my friend, that's what friends do."

The doors jingled again.

"I'm home – oh, Anzu-chan! Hello!"

Yugi appeared in the game shop, his entire face brightening when his eyes fell on Anzu.

"I didn't know you were coming! We could have walked together."

"I wanted to surprise you," Anzu said with a laugh.

The two continued to chatter as Yugi led Anzu back upstairs. Sugoroku watched them go with a smile on his face.

"Heh," he said. "You got very lucky, Yugi. Very lucky indeed..."

A/N: This as a shipping = creepy. So I tried my hardest to make it as unromantic as possible. Sugoroku cares for Anzu because she is his grandson's friend AND THAT IS IT. Actually, I think I would be hard pressed to find someone that disagrees with me on this shipping. Next is Pervadeshipping (Cyndia x Amane).
