Chapter 19
No, no, no! Prancer thought as he dogged out of the way of the queens' attacks.
Turns out the queens had their soldiers hiding close by and when the queens went for Prancer, the soldiers jumped out of hiding and started attacking the other soldiers. It was a warzone where Prancer was and he couldn't find where Flint, Hunter, or Tulsi were in the bloodshed. Dragons were falling around him and he had to dodge around them to not get trapped.
I told you it wouldn't work.
SHUT UP VOICE, HOW DID YOU KNOW AND WHAT ARE YOU?
The voice took a while to respond but did after a bit. I'm someone who wants to help you out and who needs your help.
You sure you are, you've been trying to get in the way of all my plans and say they won't work.
And I've been right, haven't I. I'm just trying to do what is best for you and your friends.
Oh yeah, then why don't you show yourself to us so that I can rip your head off!
Nah, that doesn't sound like fun, the voice mocked.
Prancer didn't have time to argue, he dodged away from a Cavewing and was able to get out of the room where the fighting was. He kept on running but bumped into a Webwing. The Webwing turned around and Prancer saw that it was Java.
"Ah, what a surprise," Java mocked. "I will finally be able to get rid of you and cure the Webwing bloodline from inferiors like yourself."
"WAIT! Can't we talk this out?" Prancer pleaded.
"Talk? With you? No, your kind needs to be exterminated."
Java lifted his claws in the air, ready to strike Prancer but then he stopped all of a sudden. He looked down at Prancer, and then to his chest, where a sharp tail had stabbed him in the heart.
"Wha…" Java said and then fell over dead.
When Java fell, Prancer was able to see the dragon behind him. It was Tulsi, shaking heavily at what she just did.
"Tulsi!" Prancer said.
"Wha.. what did I… I just do?" Tulsi seemed to be at a loss for words, as far as Prancer could tell, and she was wobbling heavily.
"Tulsi, come on! We have to get out of here!" Prancer yelled.
"I… I… didn't mean to… I wanted to… I…"
"Tulsi, come on!" Prancer yelled and started to drag her away from the body of the Webwing that she just killed.
They ran down the tunnel more until they had bumped into Flint and Hunter who were both bloody and had a dead Cavewing at their feet.
"Flint! Hunter! Are you okay?" Prancer asked.
"Yeah," Flint said. "We didn't want to kill him but he wouldn't listen to me and just wanted to kill Hunter."
"Thank you for helping me," Hunter said before turning to Prancer. "What happened? I thought everything was going fine but then they started acting weird and turned to attack you and all those soldiers that appeared out of nowhere."
"What do you mean?" Prancer asked.
"I talked to Hunter," Flint said. "And while both of us were bringing our queens to the spot, we didn't see a single soldier following either of us. They weren't even hiding while the queens were talking. Only once they started fighting did they appear out of thin air and start slashing at each other."
"Yeah," Tulsi said. "I know you told me Prancer to stay put but I couldn't just let you do it by yourself, so I checked in the surrounding caves to make sure an ambush wasn't going to happen and I didn't see any dragons. Then when the fight happened, the dragons just… appeared in front of me. I kid you not, they just appeared without meaning."
"How is that possible?" Prancer asked.
I know how, the voice said.
Oh yeah, back with this about knowing everything?
Oh silly, I do know everything and I know what will happen if I don't interfere right now.
You should do that so we can rip your FACE OFF!
Hmm, I think only you should see me, and then all of his friends around him froze in place.
"Wha… What DID YOU DO?!" Prancer screamed.
Oh calm down, I didn't harm them, you wouldn't help me out if I did that.
I DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU AT ALL.
I think I can change your mind about that, and then in front of Prancer appeared a dragon. It was another Webwing, but with brownish scales like a Drillwing and rough scales like a Cavewing, but had four wings like a Webwing.
"What are you," Prancer asked.
"Oh me," the dragon said. "I can understand that you may think of me as a triple hybrid but no, this is just how I wanted to look."
"How does that make sense," Prancer questioned. "How can you be a regular Webwing but have the traits of the other two dragon tribes?"
"Oh there is an explanation to that but right now I have a favor to ask of you."
"Oh yeah and what is that?" Prancer asked.
"Well you see, I seem to have lost where the lost artifact is and I need your help in finding it."
"Wait, you know where the artifact is?" Prancer asked.
"Well not anymore," the dragon said. "It seemed like shifts in the grounds and cave-ins have buried the pathway to the artifact and I can't seem to find another pathway to it."
"And what makes you think I'll help you?" Prancer said.
"Oh, I think she will be able to change your mind," and then Ocho appeared in front of Prancer.
"Ocho!" Prancer yelled.
"Wha…," Ocho said, looking around and then spotted Prancer. "Prancer, where am I?"
"With me, a great old reunion."
Ocho looked up at the dragon, "And who are you supposed to be?"
"Oh dear, I don't suppose you would ever recognize me, here let me change for you quickly."
The dragon's body then started twisting and turning and after it was done, a regular looking Webwing stood in front of them.
"How did you do that?" Prancer asked.
"I have my secrets," the dragon said. "But anyway, do you notice me now, Ocho?"
"What… that's impossible." Ocho said.
"What?" Prancer asked. "What's impossible."
"What's impossible is who I am. I am her father and you are very special to me as well. You are my great-great-great-great-grandson."
"What, how's that possible?" Prancer asked.
"Oh, there is a way for it to be possible," the dragon said. He then turned and looked at both of them.
"Hello daughter and fourth great-grandson; my name's Dredge."
