I don't own RWBY. RWBY is owned by Rooster Teeth and was created by Monty Oum. I only own my OCs
Jayden walked amongst the darkened streets looking for Blake. A sour expression etched into his face as he did so. A growl escaped his lips as he became ever more frustrated at his current situation. The anger, along with the urge to lash out at anything, coming to him more naturally than any other emotion.
Jayden stopped and took a deep breath to calm himself down. He looked down to the ground, thoughts swirling inside him as he did so.
'I can't act that way. Not after my brother... and not after what happened that day. When I got this thing on my neck.' Jayden thought before continuing onward.
Under normal circumstances, the rest of Team JAGW might have been concerned about their team leader, except Iris. But Jayden did send them a text after he'd left the school.
When they'd told the headmaster though...
"See! I told you it was a mistake to let that man in our school!" Goodwitch yelled at Ozpin, after they left.
"Now Glynda, what makes you say that?" Ozpin asked.
His hands were cupped together in front of his face so you couldn't see the bottom half of his face.
"Is it not obvious? He's running back to the White Fang with all the information he's obtained!"
Ozpin's eyebrow raised at the statement. While it was a plausible theory, Ozpin doubted that was the case. Especially with the way Jayden interacted with the rest of his group the past few days. No, nothing at all suggested he still had ties to the White Fang. And to leave now at all times was odd.
Still...
"While I won't say that that particular instance isn't on the table, I do doubt that it is likely." Ozpin told her.
Goodwitch's eyes narrowed. "What do you mean?"
Ozpin sighed at his assistant's shortsightedness. "I understand that you don't like having threats near your students, but a threat he is not." Ozpin stated. "If he was with the White Fang, him leaving would've happened not very long after he discovered Ms. Schnee was here. Or an attempt on her life would've been made."
Ozpin paused to gauge Glynda's reaction. It was full of confusion and realization at the same time.
"And besides. Mr. Taurus has been most accommodating towards Ms. Schnee." Ozpin paused, almost seeming to think about something. "Well, as accommodating he can be with the constant racism thrown his way, unintentional or not."
Goodwitch let out a breath and looked down to the ground. She lifted her head back up. "Alright, but what do we do?"
"Lets let this play out. If it goes how I think it will, we may just get a huge breakthrough in the White Fang problem."
Jayden watched Blake from another table, and with a lot of concentration, eavesdropped on the conversation she was having with another faunus. A blonde haired monkey faunus.
It was funny to see his lighthearted nature bounce almost completely off Blake at first. Jayden soon thought that the conversation was no where, and he might as well have gone and introduced himself.
But that was when they started to get into a topic I didn't think they were ever gonna get into.
"Sun, how do you feel about the White Fang?" Blake asked.
"Who doesn't? I don't think there's a faunus on the planet who hasn't heard about those weirdos. They're crazy if you ask me." Sun replied.
'Crazy... is accurate I guess. Especially with what's going on in Vale.' Jayden thought as he heard what Sun said.
"Well I, and couple of my friends at Beacon, used to be apart of the White Fang."
Sun's eyes became as wide as dinner plates. His hands going to his head out of shock.
"What?! You used to be with those weirdos?!" Sun yelled.
"Not so loud!" Blake exclaimed.
Blake looked around to see if anyone was watching them now. Jayden turned away and crossed his hands over his face. He had a hat on to hide his ears and hair from them, so he didn't exactly have anything to be afraid of.
"Yeah, I guess you could say I was born into it." Sure enough, they went back to talking. "Back then, the White Fang was a peaceful organization. Made in the ashes of the revolution to be a symbol of peace and unity between the faunus and humanity."
'I also remember those days. I believe I was only about 7 or 8 at the time. At least when I joined.' Jayden thought.
Blake sighed as she looked down to the tea she was drinking. "I was there at every rally. Holding signs and screaming for a better future. But, despite being promised equality, faunus were still being discriminated against. It wasn't working."
A moment of silence passed between Sun and Blake. Both knew what she was about to say.
"So, with the former leader stepping down five years ago, new leader rose and drove the White Fang into a more violent organization. Soon, rallies were being replaced with organized attacks." Blake told Sun, who continued with a strange expression on his face. "Stores that didn't sell to Faunus or didn't allow Faunus were burned down. And the worst part was that it was working. We were being treated as equals. Not out of respect, but fear."
Another moment of silence passed between them. This one longer than the first as she allowed Sun process her story.
Jayden also took the time to reflect upon it. He too had believed violence was the way. It wasn't really until he'd met Louis and Yang that he had changed his views. But, he'd sworn that he'd always be by his brother's side as long as he fought.
"That is why," Blake continued. "It is my job to make sure they don't do anymore damage."
"'But it doesn't have to be.'" Sun stated, echoing Jaydens inner thoughts at the same time.
Blake seemed to stagger in her words. Unknowing of what to say next. Most likely, she had been thinking that both Jayden and Yang would've said that as well. And Jayden had always drilled into Blake to always trust in your teammates.
"Not like I could do so anyway. I have no idea where the White Fang will strike next."
Sun grinned at Blakes comment.
"I might have an idea."
Jayden yet again observed from a distance as Sun and Blake walked to the docks. A couple hours had passed and it was now dark outside. He did make sure that he'd had enough supplies to help with the fight that was most surely lying ahead. However he couldn't shake the feeling that he himself was being watched.
It was almost as if someone was following him. But he was on rooftops, and they were mostly flat. He'd have spotted someone by now. Yet, it continued to bother him.
Jayden figured he'd have to ignore it for now. They were nearing the docks, and there would begin a fight of importance to stopping the White Fang.
Meanwhile, a figure landed on a building in the distance. He was watching Blake, Sun, and Jayden move ever closer to the site of the White Fang operation. His black bird wings folded behind his back. A black White Fang mask with red details similar to that of a nevermore was sitting on his face, similar to Jayden's old White Fang mask.
He brought a gloved hand up to his ear, two fingers pressing down on something while the others were scrunched up.
"Belladonna and her tag-alongs are nearing the docks. Are you sure you want to proceed?." He asked to seemingly no one.
"Yes. We continue as planned. Roman can handle a few strays." The rough voice of Adam came through
"I doubt it, you should know that one of them is your own brother. And Roman definitely can't handle him." The masked man said.
Silence came through the other end, leaving the other man a bit nervous, but no outward reaction was shown.
"... Boss?"
"Thank you for letting me know. I'll be at the docks soon. You head on back to base, Maron. I'll handle Jayden." Adam stated before cutting the call.
Maron gave a savage grin before his bird wings flared out and flapped, allowing him to fly away.
Jayden continued to wait, just as Blake did. Sun left to go grab Blake some food. It was something he'd already prepared for, eating a few bars of processed food and jerky. Bloom and Scatter sat by his side, ready to fight at any second.
He wasn't nervous. He never had been. Even when they were young, Jayden and Adam faced the most difficult tasks without flinching. Even in the face of possibly dying, they still fought as hard as they could.
Sun returned with a few apples in hand. He extended one towards Blake, but she glared at him as he did so before he said something else, earning another glare in response.
Jayden heard the bullhead long before it'd ever started landing. The lights scanned all over the place. Thankfully, Jayden had chosen a spot where he didn't have to worry about getting spotted since the lights would just cast a shadow that kept him concealed.
Soon enough, White Fang troops began pouring out of the bullhead and others had landed down. Jayden watched, letting them spread out before he made a move. That was until Torchwick stepped out of the main bullhead shouting insults at them.
'So the rumors were true.' Jayden thought as he watched Roman give orders.
Blake slid behind Roman and put her blade to his neck. She threw her bow off before shouting to the White Fang soldiers. "Brothers of the White Fang! Why are you aiding this scum!?"
Jayden grabbed Bloom and Scatter next to him.
"Oh, you didn't hear? The White Fang and I are going in on joint business venture together." Roman replied to the question that wasn't asked to him
Jayden got into a position that allowed him to leap at Roman and attack him.
"You will tell me all the details of this little operation."
Jayden clicked Bloom out of Scatter.
Another bullhead flew over their heads, causing both Roman and Blake to look at it. "I wouldn't exactly call it a little operation."
Roman nearly blasted Blake away when she wasn't expecting it, but Jayden intervened at the last second, causing Roman to instead dash backwards and shake Blake off him. Roman fired and explosive shell at him, but Jayden deflected it behind him with an upward cut, which exploded the White Fang troops behind him.
Roman used the distraction to gain distance as Sun helped Blake up. Jayden didn't take his eye off Roman, however, ensuring he couldn't blast them while Sun was helping Blake recover.
Blake looked to Jayden's back, eyes wide with a look of surprise. "When did you get here?" She asked
"A minute or two earlier than you two, give or take." Jayden answered honestly, sword still drawn on his side with his sheath out like a shield
"How did you-"
"Later." Sun intervened. "We've gotta deal with these guys first."
The bullhead that flew over earlier pulled around behind Roman. Jayden almost charged forward until the bullhead doors opened to reveal someone that Jayden really hoped wouldn't be here. A certain redhead brother of his.
Adam walked off the ramp and the bullhead took off again. Adam surveyed his surroundings, and his opponents, before his eyes landed on Jayden. A smirk made it's way on his face as he took a step forwards.
"About time." Roman muttered from beside Adam.
"Shut it." He was quick to reply.
Adam turned his gaze back towards Jayden, who still had Bloom drawn and Scatter out in front of him.
"Brother." Was the one simple word that had sent shivers down Jayden's spine.
Jayden swallowed the saliva building up in his mouth as a nervous reaction. "Adam."
Adam chuckled upon hearing Jayden say his name. "Is that it? You abandon me, and now you won't even say I'm your brother."
"Last I checked, you threw me out of the White Fang without even a moments hesitation, Brother." Jayden spat out.
Adam growled. "Clearly, we have a different perception of what happened."
Jayden returned the growl, sheathing Bloom as he did so. "Except yours happens to be the wrong one."
"YOU DO NOT TELL ME WHAT IS WRONG!"
Nearly everyone flinched at the sudden sound of Adam's voice. Jayden, however, stood as still as a statue with his blue eyes being as hard and unflinching as he was.
Adam retracted the hand he'd subconsciously pointed at Jayden and put his head in it.
"Every single one of you is to leave Jayden to me. I don't care about the rest, but leave Blake alive." Adam ordered Roman and the White Fang soldiers
It took a few seconds, but the White Fang soldiers, Roman, and the other two of Jayden's group began fight. Jayden and Adam continued to have a staredown while they fought all around them.
"I'm willing to forgive." Adam suddenly said, causing Jayden tilt his head in confusion. "If you help me here, I'll let you rejoin the White Fang."
"Heh." Jayden let off a small chuckle, before it turned into a full blown laugh
Adam glared at Jayden with an angry face. "What's so funny!" He yelled
"You really think that after I'll I've seen your version of the White Fang do here, I'll join you?" Jayden asked between laughs. "You must be more deluded that I thought."
Adam frowned. "Guess I was wrong to think you'd be strong enough to break out of your complacency."
Adam crouched down and put a hand on Wilt, reminding Jayden of the many times they sparred over the years. The rain echoed throughout the docks.
"I don't wanna fight you Adam, but if I have to, I will."
Jayden mimicked Adam's stance in almost the exact same way. This fight would be another duel between them. Only this time, the stakes weren't to find out who was the better one out of both of them, it was to see who got to walk out alive.
Ruby Rose walked with the rest of Team JAGW as both they and her were looking for their missing teammates. Penny was also there, providing unnecessary information.
Ruby sighed as she let her head hang. Suddenly, a hand was laid on her shoulder. She looked to who had done so to find Louis staring at her.
"We'll find em. Don't worry." He said to her
Ruby released a breath. "I hope so."
All of the sudden, a flash of light was seen. Everyone turned to it to see black smoke billowing out of the docks.
Ruby turned to then. "We have to get over there quick. Let's go!"
Metal rang as Jayden and Adam clashed their blades together. Jayden wrenched Wilt down to his right before bringing Bloom back up in a swing. Adam was forced to lean backward into a roll. Jayden sent an energy wave out, only for Adam to absorb it himself.
Adam rebounded off the ground using the momentum he'd gained. Quickly, he slid Wilt into into it's sheath. He let loose a massive wave of energy. Jayden's eyes widened as he processed what was now flying. Just barely, he managed to flip over it, the wave clipping his elbow as he did so.
Jayden winced in pain. His Aura healed the cut as soon as it happened, but Aura didn't heal pain. Jayden caught Adam's blade with his own as he swung down on Jayden whilst he wasn't paying attention. Jayden pushed Wilt upward, reposting it as he brought Bloom around and swiftly struck Adam in his exposed stomach. Jayden quickly followed with three more slashes before Adam was able to recover.
Adam dashed backward before releasing an energy wave that Jayden was forced to block. Adam then dashed to the side and quickly let off another energy wave before rushing straight at Jayden, hoping to catch him off guard.
Jayden slid backward as he blocked the obscenely powerful strike from Adam. Marks were made in the ground below him as he tried to create as much friction to stop himself. Jayden slid to his stop, sheathing Bloom for a quick draw if needed.
As Adam drew closer, Jayden flipped the tables by using a quick draw to give him the offense. Jayden clashed with Adam's guard several times, analyzing for a way to break it. Jayden put some collected energy into his attack and swung towards Adam. Adam stumbled from the blow and Jayden capitalized by kicking Adam in the head, allowing for Jayden to strike Adam with enough force to roll said person along the ground.
Adam pushed off the ground with a single hand, turning himself upside down as he did so. He unleashed his semblance on Jayden, who jumped over it and barely managed to dodge it.
Jayden's eyes were set hard on Adam, and so to were Adam's set dead on Jayden.
Adam rushed toward Jayden, opening with a downward strike. Jayden parried the strike, pushing Wilt out of the way for him to retaliate. Jayden brought Bloom up and across Adam's chest. When he tried to follow up, however, Adam blocked his strikes.
To any regular person, Adam and Jayden might've looked like a blur of black and red. Their fight was simply to fast to follow, even for a Beacon student.
After a few seconds of going back and forth on trying to land a hit on one another, they clashed blades, causing sparks to fly even with the rain dowsing the both of them. Both stared into each other's eyes as the encounter lasted a few seconds. Adam's were filled with hate, though a mask covered them. Jayden didn't need to see his brother's eyes to know that they were filled with hate. It was written in the scowl on his face.
Jayden quickly pushed his blade up, bringing Adam's with it. Jayden used the end of Bloom's pommel to hit Adam in the face, shattering the mask he wore. He tried to press the attack by bringing his blade up to strike, but Adam flipped backward and avoided it. A wild energy blast was sent Jayden's way, who rolled to the side to avoid it. It ended up hitting a dust shipment, causing it to explode.
Jayden didn't turn back as chunks of metal flew in all directions, keeping his eyes focused solely on Adam. A few seconds were spared as fire raged in the background, only lit due to the fire dust stored in the shipping containers. Jayden brought Bloom over his head and down in front of him. He took a deep breath as Adam sheathed Wilt and crouched down, ready to pounce towards Jayden at any moment.
However, it was Jayden that made the first move as he sped towards Adam, blade at the ready. Jayden swung down on Adam, only to have his strike deflected. Jayden leaped backward to avoid Adam's riposte. Adam didn't relent and charged after Jayden. To any normal person, they would've been to fast to follow. That was the outcome between two brothers who knew how fast the other could move and how they fought. Hell, even if they were just two combatants who never knew each other, it would still look as such. Jayden and Adam were on the level comparable to that of an Atlesian Specialist. At least one like Winter Schnee.
Jayden quickly flipped away to avoid being hit by Adam and sheathed Bloom. He channeled his built up energy into Bloom and waited for Adam to draw near, which he did. Jayden quickly unsheathed Bloom and swung it in the same motion, causing what looked to be a multitude of slashes to happen all around his body. Adam barely managed to block in time, which resulted in him getting knocked back a few feet. Quickly recovering from the strike, Adam sped back towards Jayden. Jayden quickly deflected Adam's strike into the air and took a swing at Adam himself, only for Adam to backflip away from his attack. Jayden sheathed Bloom and rushed Adam, hoping to take advantage of his disadvantageous position. Adam blocked the strikes, but wasn't able to parry them. Jayden delivered a few strikes before dragging his blade across the ground, giving it more energy before bringing it up to slash Adam. Adam, however, saw this coming and blocked the strike, causing him to slide backward.
Jayden then brought his blade down on Adam's guard, causing it to break for the smallest of seconds, but long enough for Jayden to get one quick slice in. Jayden swung Bloom at Adam, who promptly dodged the hit. Jayden followed up with two more hits before using his Semblance to send out clones of himself to hit Adam. One struck from the right and another split off of that one and went to hit Adam on his head. The first clone swung diagonally from the left before Jayden and the two clones joined up and delivered one big strike that sent Adam skidding backwards.
Jayden bolted towards Adam like lighting, trying to catch Adam whilst he was momentarily off balance. Adam flipped away from him and quickly brought up Wilt and Blush to block a strike from Jayden. Adam repelled Jayden's blade and unsheathed Wilt. Adam quickly started firing at Jayden, who sliced them all out of the air. Adam spun and swung at Jayden. Jayden narrowly avoided Wilt by hand springing backward. Jayden responded by doing the exact same thing with Scatter. Adam cut the bullets out of the air before turning and flipped sideways to avoid Jayden's follow up strike.
Jayden fired some shots at Adam who sliced them out of the air. Jayden used the distraction to try and sweep Adam's legs out from underneath him. Adam flipped backward and fired Wilt out of Blush. Jayden managed to get his blade up in time for the hilt to smack it. The impact knocked him back a few feet. Adam ran up and jumped off Jayden's blade and grabbed Wilt. He slammed Wilt into the ground and used his semblance to release a wave of energy. Jayden stumbled back. Adam took this opening and shot Blush at him. Three bullets hit him, the rest were deflected. Adam sheathed Wilt. Jayden fired Bloom out of Scatter, having sheathed it after deflecting a few bullets, at Adam, whom smacked it out of the way. Jayden ran up with a kick, causing Adam to duck underneath it. a few more kicks flew in the air before one hit that sent Adam skidding backward.
Adam smirked as Jayden quickly grabbed Bloom off the ground.
Adam fired Wilt out of Blush again. Jayden blocked it effortlessly this time. Adam snatched his sword out of the air. He ran up and swung at Jayden who barely blocked in time. Suddenly there were shadow clones of Adam attacking Jayden in a multitude of slashes. Jayden only barely managed to block them. Adam sent an energy strike her way and threw Wilt in a straight arc at her. Wilt spun and grinded against Bloom multiple times in a second. Adam ran up and kicked Wilt at Jayden, who deflected it into the ground with Bloom. Adam grabbed Wilt in a reverse grip and swung at him. Jayden flipped back and shot at Adam who absorbed the bullets.
Adam and Jayden's exchange ended with that of a blade clash, Semblances flaring as the built up energy poured into their blades. Sparks flew as they pressed harder, waiting for the other to slip from the built up pressure. It was now that Wilt and Bloom began glowing white. The amount of energy being put into the clash was starting to reach a breaking point. Not that Jayden or Adam cared. Blue eyes stared at Adam's face, the light from their swords bright enough to light up Adam's eyes. On one side, a single blue eye stared back towards Jayden. The other, a scarred and burnt eye. A reminder of what Adam and Jayden endured together.
The built up energy burst like a dam. The resulting explosion caused Adam and Jayden to fly away. Jayden hit a container, denting it in the process and also shattering what little Aura he had left. Adam simply collided with the ground, but his Aura was still shattered nonetheless. Jayden stood up, wincing as he did so. Pain burned throughout every cell in his body. It was unlike anything he'd ever felt. Jayden struggled to get to his feet. Pain shot through his right hip.
"No time to worry about that right now." Jayden thought as he looked to Adam.
A stare down was had between Jayden and Adam. Both knew that if they continued further, one of them could die. Right here was when the brothers would end their spars. Out of all those that they had, the energy that surrounded them was always lighthearted, warm, and wholesome. Now, all Jayden felt was the intent to kill.
Adam was on Jayden nearly faster than he could react. Jayden had though, just in time to block Adam's slash. The next strike came from over head. Jayden rushed to meet it. However, in doing so, pain once again shot through Jayden's hip, causing him to wince. This meant he was unable to properly block Adam's next slash aiming for his stomach. Jayden moved his mid-section backward, causing the cut to be a scratch mainly, but Jayden still ground his teeth together and growled to block out the pain. Jayden deflected Adam's next attack.
Jayden grabbed a hold of Scatter and aimed towards Adam's face. Adam wouldn't be able to react in time. His swing put him off kilter and his recovery would be too slow in his state. Seeing Adam's eyes widen, however, caused Jayden to subconsciously hesitate for half a second before firing.
Only half a second, but still enough time for Adam to block the bullet that soon came after.
a chuckle escaped Adam's lips. "After all we went through, you'd kill me like that?"
Jayden's eyes widened as he realized his mistake. He was quick to block Adam's strike, but that sent him tumbling towards the ground.
"I didn't think you'd end me in such a way. At least you will die to my blade Jayden."
Jayden made his way up on one knee before he forced to block another strike from Adam, who didn't have any broken bones getting in the way of his form. Jayden collapsed again before he quickly made his way to his knees again before being struck down, again! Jayden managed to get on his feet this time around. Jayden tried a wild swing, screaming as he did so. Unfortunately, it was parried by Adam. Adam brought Wilt into an upward strike. Jayden's eyes widened yet again when he realized what Adam was aiming for.
A scream came from Jayden's throat against his will. Blood splattered on the water kissed ground. Jayden held the left side of his face, hyperventilating as he did so. Blood seeped from the cracks in between Jayden's hands. Adam had taken Jayden's left eye.
a hysterical chuckle came from Adam's mouth as drew near Jayden. "I guess now you understand my pain. Fitting that your eye be taken before you die."
Jayden didn't process Adam's words. The pain was too much. Jayden couldn't even see out of his right eye because of it. Jayden could barely think, move, or breath correctly. Adam let out a noise of disappointment.
"How pathetic." Adam spat. "Fine. I guess I'll put you out of your misery now."
Adam lifted Wilt over his head. He'd lined it up perfectly. His swing would behead Jayden. All that was left was to actually make the cut. Adam took a deep breath in and out before tensing and lifting Wilt a little higher.
"Hey!"
Adam looked to the source of the new voice. It was Ruby standing on top of a rooftop. Of course, to Adam, it was just some little girl with a red cape and a giant scythe. Adam would've laughed at her if it wasn't for the fact that his senses alerted him to an attack. Adam jumped backward away from Jayden, avoiding the massive blade that came down in the spot he'd stood before. Iris turned to look at Adam and held his sword out in front of him, pointed at Adam himself. Louis and Jenny came to his side a few seconds later, as well as Ruby.
Now, maybe Adam could've handled one by himself without Aura. it would be hard due to the fact he couldn't take any hits, but Adam was certain he could've pulled it off. Maybe he could've handled all of them with his Aura. But no way was Adam able to take all four of them without his Aura. He scoffed at the situation before leveling his blade towards Jayden.
"We aren't finished."
Those were the last words Jayden heard before he passed out.
Ruby didn't know what to think. She watched as one of best friends, Jayden, was carried on a stretcher to a vehicle. She was told he was going to be taken to Beacon's infirmary. Still, just seeing him like that made Ruby feel bad.
'I wasn't fast enough.' her thought's echoed.
At least she didn't have to worry about Blake. She'd already apologized to them and even Weiss decided that Blake's past didn't matter. Just what she'd decided to do now, which was be a huntress. But, that still didn't change how she felt when looking at Jayden, with one half of his face covered by bandages. While his team had patched him up somewhat, they'd said that Jayden would be lucky of he could even feel the tiniest bit of that eye, much less see out of it. His brother did a number on it.
His own brother! Who would do such a thing!? Ruby didn't understand it at all. What would cause someone to hurt their own family in this way? It was just baffling. But it made Ruby think. would Yang ever do this to her? 'No' was the very obvious answer. And Ruby imagined that she wouldn't do this to Yang either. According to her sister, Jayden and Adam had been just as close as they are. So why?
When they made it back to Beacon she asked Yang as to why they would do this. 'some relationships, familial or not, can be rough. Adam never did take abandonment lightly and in his eyes, Jayden abandoned him. It probably doesn't help that they had a pretty big rivalry going on too.' Were Yang's words.
Of course, that didn't help Ruby understand at all. But, no matter what, she'd be by her friend's side during this. He wouldn't have to deal with this alone.
That, she would make sure of.
And that's the end of this one folks. I actually was reminded to continue this yesterday because of a good friend of mine with whom I've been out of contact for a while. I'm going to be trying to work on my stories more often now. Think I've been inactive for just a bit too long. Hell, I didn't even let y'all know that I had still been here, even if I wasn't actively working on stories
Anyway, I'm actually writing on a computer now. Honestly? I like it a lot better than a phone. After about an hour or two of writing, my hand's don't feel like exploding, so that's definitely a plus
I had wanted this chapter to be mostly the fight between Adam and Jayden. After all, we already know how the dock fight goes in regular canon. I don't really need to waste chapter space there to explain something we'd already seen. That's mainly what took this chapter so long. I am so out of practice when it comes to writing fight scenes. I also wasn't sure where exactly I wanted to end the chapter. I thought about ending it with Jayden waking up and realizing his eye was gone, but I think I'll save that for next chapter. I'll also have a downtime period between V1 and V2 since I want to expand on Jayden losing his eye as well as his loss of depth perception because of it
Anyway, I think it's time I go. Before I do though, I wanna pose this one question. How've y'all been?
Talk to y'all later and see ya later!
