Chapter 6: Not Much of a Sanctuary.

What felt like forever to Sonic was really just five or ten minutes in reality have passed since he found himself on Angel Island, or the Sky Sanctuary, and having gently laid the unconscious new hedgehog kid on the ground and watched over him. He wanted to keep on looking for the Sol Emerald before Scourge and/or Eggman found it, but he couldn't leave the child behind, not after he went through the ordeal of being eaten alive by a dragon in that Bamboo Jungle before being saved by the cobalt teenage hero.

So he opted to stay and then bring the kid with him until they found the Sol Emerald which would take them back to the white world, and then the blue hedgehog would leave him to be in the safety of Knuckles, Tails, Amy and Silver. As Sonic sat next to the redish brown hedgehog, thankfully he didn't have to wait terribly long(even though five or ten minutes was still too long for him), the kid finally began showing signs of regaining consciousness.

"Kid? Hey, are you alright?" The sixteen year old asked gently with a worried expression, as the eight year old began to flicker his eyes open, and the blue hedgehog could see that they were deep opal green.

"...Where...?" The younger hedgehog whispered, sounding very exhausted. His vision was all blurry, he felt disoriented and tired. Thankfully the blur began to fade, as a blue figure that was looming over him came into view; a hedgehog like him except older, with emerald green eyes that held concern on the face that was gentle and kind.

"Hey, little guy. How're you feelin'?" Sonic greeted, smiling softly in relief and kindness.

At first the young hedgehog didn't seem to figure out what was going on, but soon shock soon formed even through confusion, and the first thing he asked shocked and surprised the hero of Mobius. The boy sat up quickly which startled the older hedgehog, and exclaimed with wide eyes. "Scourge?"

"Huh?" The blue hedgehog gaped in disbelief, before deciding to not get too suspicious or frighten the child he saved, and carefully corrected him. "Uh, no, you're looking at the wrong guy. My name's Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog."

"Sonic?" The red-brown hedgehog repeated, now even more confused. "But, you look just like...except you don't have the jacket or sunglasses."

"I know. Pretty crazy, huh?" Sonic chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head, and then asked hesitantly. "Um, so, before I ask how you know Scourge, ya' got a name, kid?"

Even though he didn't know if he could trust Sonic the Hedgehog or not, the eight year old hedgehog began to feel that the Scourge-look-alike was actually very nice, decided to at least tell him who he was and answered, nervously. "I'm...Maurice. Maurice Hedgehog. I call myself Red, since I don't like my first name."

"Well, then, I'll call ya' Red if it makes you feel better." The blue hedgehog offered warmly. Red the Hedgehog looked up at him in surprise, to which the teenager gave him a wink. "Don't worry. I won't hurt you. I save ya' from the giant dragon that ate you."

"You...saved me?" Red asked, stunned and in disbelief. "But...how did...?"

"Well...let's just say that I'm a hero who does many crazy things. I couldn't just leave you in there all alone and die. I'm surprised that you managed to survive, which you should consider yourself lucky, kid." Sonic sheepishly explained, scratching his head. "Anyway, not to be suspicious or anything, but...how do you know Scourge?"

Red looked down glumy with a hurtful expression, and while he was amazed that Sonic had saved his life and thought that this blue hedgehog was very similar to the evil green hedgehog, he decided that maybe the hero of Mobius could set things right. So he hesitantly decided to reveal the truth on what he knew about Scourge.

"He's...He's my brother." The timid hedgehog replied.

"Say what!?" The cobalt teenager exclaimed, bewildered. He couldn't believe that he had just saved the younger brother of his new enemy, and while he knew not to jump to conclusions, he wanted to know how Red ended up being eaten and why Scourge left him to die.

"I know. Sad, isn't it?" The eight year old hedgehog nodded, understanding why Sonic was upset, already figuring that they weren't friends. "And I was hoping that there was some good in him."

'So Scourge left his little brother to die while the kid wanted to believe that the creep wasn't completely evil. Poor kid. What kind of a brother is that?' Sonic thought to himself, disgusted that Scourge would have left Red to be swallowed whole.

Red sighed, before realizing something else and looked around, now once again confused as he didn't recognize this place and asked. "Where am I? What happened to Bamboo Jungle? How did we get here?"

'Bamboo Jungle? Guess I somehow knew it's name before I heard of it.' The blue hedgehog thought, before answering. "Well, firstly, we're in the Sky Sanctuary. Secondly, well, this place and the jungle we were in about ten or fifteen minutes ago and other places are all stuck in this white, creepy world where there's totally nothing at all. I have no idea what's going on right now, either. Except that, well...As much as I hate to break to ya', but your brother is part of the cause of this to happen."

Sonic then did his best to explain to Red on how this all unfolded, including his accidental rescue of Eggman whom the blue hedgehog thought was dead but is also part of the problem, the monster, meeting Silver who knew about Scourge and how the hero of Mobius was instructed to find the Sol Emeralds to save everyone and solve the mystery.

"Silver?" Red asked, confused as the name was unfamiliar. "But, I thought Blaze and Dr. Kintobor were the ones who tried to stop Scourge. Does that mean Silver is Blaze's new friend?"

"I take that those two are Silver's friends, since they sound like they're your friends too, right?" Sonic queried over the unfamiliar names, and yet there was something strangely familiar about this Dr. Kintobor, but he couldn't understand how or why it was possible.

The eight year old nodded. "Yeah. Well, I don't talk to Blaze as much but she's really nice and strong. Dr. Kintobor though is my best friend. He wants to free the world from all evil and make it a better place but careful not to do things too much that'll cause problems. He thought that the Sol Emeralds could help."

'Why does it sound like Eggman except in reverse?' The blue hedgehog thought uneasily.

"But I never should've told Scourge about them. I thought it'd be a good idea since it could make him see that it's okay to be nice. But I was wrong. I just kept on hoping, though." Red continued, becoming more and more upset. "I didn't even think I'd ever get out, and now he thinks I'm gone."

"...Can you tell me how you got eaten?" Sonic gently asked, quickly adding. "You don't have to if ya' don't want to. I know that being eaten alive is a horrifying experience, and believe it or not, letting myself being swallowed by that dragon isn't the first time for me. Though it's the first time I've ever found myself trapped inside a stomach, if even it was only temporarily."

"Huh? Really?" The younger hedgehog asked, before adding in disbelief. "Wait, you let yourself get eaten just to save me? How'd you get us out?"

The blue hedgehog shrugged, "Turns out the dragon's only strong spot was it's back. The rest of it was kinda weak and sensitive. I saved another kid before he'd end up being eaten himself and I fought that thing. Then after I hit it's stomach, I heard you cry out for help and I knew that I had to save you, and the only way to do that is to be swallowed whole and then use my Spin Dash to get us both out. Though when I got into the stomach, you'd already passed out."

Flash-Back:

"Hope you're really hungry!" Sonic snarled, Spin Dashing straight up towards the Dragon who opened it's mouth at in surprise that it's meal was coming straight towards him. Believing that this was it's chance despite it's stomach being in the weakest state, the beast waited until the blue hedgehog was right inside before clamping it's mouth shut and swallowed him whole.

The impact of being swallowed down into the throat caused the hero of Mobius to uncurl and ended up sliding down, screaming while feeling a case of deja vu, except worse. Sonic in that moment thought himself being crazy and panicked.

"Bad idea, bad idea, bad idea!" The terrified hedgehog cried out hysterically, despite that he knew that he could get himself and whoever's trapped inside the rapidly approaching stomach out. He screamed as he fell right through the entrance of the fleshy prison and squeezed his eyes shut, bracing himself to land into the digestive fluids.

Which surprised him when Sonic landed on a soft bounce on the slimy, flesh floor that cushioned his land and felt no acids or any liquid at all. He opened his eyes and found that there were no digestive liquids at all.

"Huh?" He muttered in confusion, sitting on the disgustingly soft flesh floor that was soft like a bed or a pillow. He hesitantly looked around and felt a wave of fear at the sight of the chamber that was really the inside of the monster's stomach itself; nothing but flesh, dark pink walls that seemed to glow a brighter pink with veins from within the flesh, from wall to the floor and the ceiling apart from the entrance which sealed itself tight, trapping him inside and still there was no liquid even coming.

This was further confirmed that this dragon did not digest it's food, but keep them imprisoned where they would die of dehydration and stavaration, because the blue hedgehog then spotted just near him and all over the place were...skeletons of other people; humans and possibly Mobians all scattered.

Sonic gasped in fright, scooting away slightly until his back touched the wall behind him. But as he did, his quills stabbed and dug deep into the flesh which he noticed and quickly leaned forward, turning around and found that it was just as soft and delicate on the inside as the beast that swallowed him whole was on the outside, because golden dust oozed out.

"Whoa, the big guy is like really thin paper or something." The blue hedgehog muttered, before stumbling as the chamber suddenly moved and he had trouble keeping his balance. He could then hear the dragon moan and then roar in agony. He then heard clattering and bones being thrown or landed on, and looked over his shoulder.

The cobalt speedster gasped when he saw the surviving victim before he arrived, land onto the pile of bones, moaning weakly and begin to lose consciousness. Instantly remembering the reason why he was here, Sonic stood up and ran to the kid, another hedgehog like himself who was just closing his eyes unwillingly when the teenage hedgehog knelt before him. Immediately knowing what to do and deciding to question this kid later, he carefully scooped up the child and stood up while trying to keep his balance before looking for any sensitive part to get himself and the young hedgehog out.

"Time to bust outta of this over-grown lizard." Sonic said to himself once he spotted the same place he'd accidentally stabbed with his quills, turning his attention to the boy in his arms. "It's gonna be okay, kid. I promise."

Holding the younger hedgehog tightly, Sonic then curled up and Homing Attacked straight through the place where he hit the stomach, which turned out to be the same spot as he hit the dragon on the outside before having allowed himself to be eaten. In a matter of seconds the hero of Mobius burst himself and the child straight out of the stomach, tearing through it with his speed and quills, while the Dragon, in it's utter defeat, gave a dying roar before collapsing onto the ground, fading away into golden and black dust. Sonic in the meantime landed safely in a crouch, with the survivor cradled in his arms.

"Sometimes...even I question my own sanity." The blue hedgehog panted, a bit traumatized for having done that, but utterly very relieved to have overcome such gruesome danger and survived, and he managed to rescue someone who hasn't died either.

End of Flash-Back:

"I'll lay it out to ya', I was freaked out by the whole thing." Sonic shrugged, shuddering at the memory of that experience, but much to his own relief, found that he wasn't as scared as he would've been. He hadn't screamed out or panicked since he knew of the Dragon's weakness, and that he had saved another person's life. Though he wouldn't make it a regular thing to do if he could help it.

"Whoa...I thought Scourge was the only one to do those skills." Red thought in awe, before asking. "But...why did you do that just to save me?"

"Do I need a reason to help someone in trouble?" The blue hedgehog replied with a smile.

The eight year old hedgehog stared at his savior in awe, unable to believe that the cobalt teenager would go out of his way to help others even at the risk of his own life, even when he was frightened himself but faced his fears with undeniable courage and kindness. Still, he wasn't quite ready to tell Sonic how he'd gotten eaten and still felt very scared for having been trapped inside the dragon for what felt like forever.

"Can I...tell you later?" The younger hedgehog muttered, and at Sonic's confused expression, he added quickly. "About how the dragon swallowed me."

Sonic's expression softened, knowing that the poor kid needed time and was still traumatized about the whole thing. He gently placed a hand onto Red's shoulder and said. "Sure. Take as much time as you need. And don't worry, I won't be leaving you behind."

"Huh?" Red blinked, now confused himself.

"I need to find the Sol Emerald located somewhere here and turn a friend of mine back to normal, and do the same with the others before figuring out how to fix up this mess. But I don't want you to be put into anymore danger. So for the time being, you're coming with me until we get back to my friends." Sonic explained, and stood up while offering his hand to the boy. "Don't worry. You'll be safe with them, and I'll do my best to knock some sense into your brother. I promise."

As Red stared at the blue hedgehog, he had a flash-back of when he was a bit younger; back when he first met the kind man Dr. Ovi Kintobor, who promised that he wouldn't hurt him and after a little while the two had become such good friends. Since then the red-brown hedgehog wished Scourge was like Kintobor, and seeing similar kindness in Sonic, it's almost like his wish had come true, even if the cobalt hedgehog wasn't his brother, but he sure acted like one.

Finally, he nodded with a small smile and took Sonic's hand, pulled to his feet after he muttered. "Okay. Thanks, Sonic."

Sonic lightly chuckled. "Anytime, buddy. Ya' know, you remind me alot of my little brother. Well, we're not brothers by blood or species or anything, but he's the closest thing to a brother I've ever had. In fact, I adopted him, so he's my real brother. If you know what I'm saying."

"Wow! He sure sounds very lucky. Will I get to meet him?" Red asked, now a little excited.

"You bet! I think you and he are gonna get along just fine." The blue hedgehog winked, before he gestured Red to climb onto his back, to which the younger hedgehog, still a bit nervous, did so and wrapped his arms around the hero's shoulders. "Hold on tight, Red."

"Uh, okay." Red did as he was told.

"Here we go!" Sonic exclaimed and ran at near full speed through the ruins on the path that he was very familiar with, having come here quite a few times, especially when it comes to also being Angel Island.

"WHOOOOAAAAA!" Red screamed as he held on tighter, not having expected Sonic also being fast just like Scourge either.

Not long after leaving Robotnik in another embarrassing quick defeat, Young Sonic wasted no more time in making his way through another new place he'd never seen before. He raced through the endless maze of Sky Sanctuary, leaping from one broken debris to another and found, much to his dismay, there were more badniks, except these ones dressed up a lot like the evil doctor, only with a laser cannon on each of them.

"No way! Ro-butt-nik already sent robots here too?" The young blue hedgehog exclaimed while dodging the lasers that were aimed at him. Thinking quickly, he Spin Dashed into one before stomping onto it's head and then used it to jump and stomp onto another as hard and skillfully as he could, before using his first strategy to take out the third, and once he was done, he sped off to leave the now destroyed Badniks to be nothing but junk heaps.

But as the eleven year old continued to speed his way through, he couldn't help but think just how a little bit different those robots looked. Yes they did look like Robotnink, but they looked a bit slimmer somehow...just a little bit, and each one lacked the yellow collar on the red jackets.

"Wait a sec..." Young Sonic trailed off as he paused in his steps to think, counting the number of strange things he'd seen with his fingers. "First it's the tall guy I don't know, then it's that Mushroom Hill before it changed into that Bamboo Jungle, then it changed into this place, and now there are robots that look like Buttnik but dressed and look a bit differently...But I already beaten that guy and he's been out on his own, and there weren't any robots in the jungle either. Only the dragon that tried to eat me."

It was then that Young Sonic recalled on what he overheard from Sonic and Tails earlier.

"Do you think Eggman is behind this?" The nine year old wondered.

The sixteen hear old shook his head with a frown. "No, Eggman would've if he was still alive and figured this out. Someone else is behind it, or maybe it was just a random evil alien attack or something. Plus, Yacker's Mom ate him whole before I turned her back to normal, remember? Nobody can survive digestion."

"If there are two of me, two of Tails, and two of Amy..." The young blue hedgehog muttered, before gasping in realization and shock. "Then that Eggman guy they talked about is another Robotnik, but with a different name or something!"

But then another realization dawned onto him and this left the eleven year old even more confused as he folded his arms deep in thought. "But...Didn't the other me say that Eggman as been eaten by the mom of this Yacker person? Or maybe...they're both...giants or something? He said that he turned her back to normal. Wonder what happened? There's no way Ro-butt-nik would pull this off on his own, so I guess that leaves Scourge."

A long pause.

"Ugh! None of this makes sense!" Young Sonic groaned loudly, furiously scratching his head with both hands in frustration. Normally he'd just go with the flow, but unlike his previous adventures, he can't get his head around on what's going on. Yes there had been ups and downs for him before, but he always pulled through. However, today was different. Not only he had no idea if Robotnik had started all of this or not, but he almost got eaten by a dragon before being saved by his older, alternate self.

Which also made him remember what Tikal had said before his new journey began.

"You and the Sonic I know, the one who knows me, have survived this curse. Only you and he can save us all. The fate of the world is in both your hands."

"...I really can't do this by myself. I mean, Tails helped me on our first adventure together, but this feels so completely different. Not even he could survive this if he'd been with me, and I'd never forgive myself if anything more horrible happened to him. I don't even know where the other Sonic is right now." The young blue hedgehog muttered, disheartened by what has happened so far.

He had been pretty lucky in finding the first two Chaos Emeralds and taking down Metal Sonic, but the eleven year old's luck almost ran out if the teenage hedgehog hadn't arrived on time. What was he going to do? Other than find the rest of the Chaos Emeralds. Maybe Scourge was right. Maybe Young Sonic was trying to be a hot shot. Sonic was better, because obviously he had more experience, because he was five years older.

Memories of how this happened came flooding back, how he'd been helpless to save Young Tails, how he'd found his newly adoptive little brother in a statue state, how Tikal had told him what to do, when in his previous adventures he acted on instinct. His resolve beginning to crumble, having no idea how to do this on his own apart from fighting Robotnik and his robots, Young Sonic felt crushed.

"Some hero I make. I...I let everybody down." Young Sonic muttered in a heart-broken state, tears forming in his eyes, he began sobbing. He sat on the stone ground, hugging his knees. "Other than what I'm told, I dunno what to do...!"

The young blue hedgehog buried his face into his arms and cried harder. He wished he knew about all of this, and done better to protect his best friend like he'd promise. Young Amy as well. He cried and cried, muffling to himself. "It's all my fault...!"

"Sonic...Don't cry."

"H-huh?" Young Sonic slowly ceased his crying, upon hearing a familiar angelic voice, and tearfully looked up to see the same red glowing orb he met earlier, the one that guided. Blinking in surprise, he muttered softly. "Tikal?"

Wiping away his tears to try and hide the fact that he'd been crying and said, greeting. "Hi, Tikal. What's up?"

"You and the Sonic I know are both doubting yourselves, because of the events that is happening to our worlds. I sensed your sadness and anxiety." Tikal gently told him, with a voice of sympathetic and perhaps concern.

"Well, I, uh..." The young blue hedgehog looked away awkwardly, before turning back to her in confusion upon what he just heard. "Wait, whaddya mean the other me's doubting himself? He seemed pretty confident earlier even though I don't think he even knows anything about me. The dude even saved me from the dragon that almost ate me."

"From what I have heard and sensed, he blames himself because he believes that Dr. Eggman still lives and he is responsible for his survival." The spirit of the Echidna Princess informed.

"How can that be?" Young Sonic asked with a shrug, in disbelief and still confused.

"I am certain he will tell you when you both eventually meet in person. But I cannot inform him that he is not to blame for this, at least not yet. What you both must do is continue your tasks before Dr. Robotnik and Scourge find the Chaos Emeralds." She explained.

Sighing in guilt and sadness, the hero of Alternate-Mobius scratched his head. "When you said that this journey will be dangerous, you weren't kiddin'. I...I thought I was ready for it. But I was wrong. The other Sonic is better than I am. I'm just a kid."

"Please, Sonic. Don't let doubt overcome you. It will only lead to ever-lasting sadness and self-hate. There were times even the Sonic I know doubted himself. You are both Sonic the Hedgehog from two different worlds that are much alike. This isn't a quest either one of you can handle on your own, even with your friends from your worlds by your side. It requires the both of you, with the power of positive energy you know very well." Tikal wisely told him.

"...The Chaos Emeralds." Young Sonic realized, while he was surprised that Sonic was having his own problems. It seems like that they are both needed; together. Plus the more he thought about it, the more the situation was so dangerous and unusual that maybe not even his older, alternate self can handle on his own even with the Chaos Emeralds. One thing was for certain, Tikal was right.

If he continued to doubt himself, he'd lose himself as the hero of his home in no time flat. He let fear and overconfidence over take him, he let the taunts from Scourge and Robotnik take the toll on his shoulders, weavering his pride and confidence in being able to do anything, and the slimeball of the evil doctor had him distracted enough to be caught by the dragon, and if anyone was to blame for the young blue hedgehog almost losing his life, it was Ro-butt-nik.

Taking a deep breath to calm down, Young Sonic sighed. "I'm sorry, Tikal. I hate to admit it, but...I'm scared. I want to save the world and everybody, I really do. But what happened back there, before the other Sonic saved me, I was so scared that I thought I was gonna be eaten. I'll be having tons of nightmares for weeks."

"Remember, young Sonic. Always believe in the right thing, and believe in those you cherish so much. They are the true reason of keeping your heart burning strong. As the same goes for Sonic, the one who knows me. It was he who taught me the real power of the Chaos Emeralds, the symbols of hope." Tikal said.

"Right...Thanks." The young blue hedgehog smiled a little, feeling better. Now he was really curious on what kind of adventures Sonic had gone through, which made him remember this place and asked curiously while standing up. "Um, that reminds me. Is this place where he's been to? I've never been here before, and so far it's really cool."

Relieved that he is feeling better, the spirital princess answered. "Yes. You are in the Sky Sanctuary, whom many now call Angel Island. It was here that Sonic had come to this place when he was your age. Where he met...my people's descentant."

"Whoa. Really? Wait, that relative of yours...he wouldn't happen to be the tall guy I saw frozen in front of that entrance earlier, would he?" Young Sonic asked, amazed and remembering seeing the statue form of Knuckles. "Does that mean you're a Mobian too?"

"Yes. But I shall leave those stories for you to hear from the Sonic I know. In time, perhaps you shall experience the same, or perhaps your future journeys shall be different. It is impossible to say as of this moment. For now, journey forth through this sacred land. Along this path, lies the Chaos Emerald. Keep following it and you'll-"

"Okay, got it! Thanks for the tip, Tikal!" Young Sonic quickly and kindly interrupted, before saying more softly and sincerely. "And...Thanks for cheering me up. Guess even heroes have their bad days."

"You're welcome. Beware of the green hedgehog." Tikal replied, as she then faded away once more, leaving the young hero of Alternate-Mobius once again on his own.

"Scourge...Right." The young blue hedgehog nodded, before yelping as a sudden cobalt blue blur sped past him to which it actually made him spin wildly before he stopped and shook his head to rid the dizzy spells, before gazing up ahead as he saw what just happened. "Whoa! Was that...?"

"Sorry!" Called out the familiar voice which was faint and far away, but Young Sonic instantly recognized. It was Sonic who had run past him and, from the looks of things, still had no idea what was going on himself or even aware of the younger blue hedgehog's existance yet.

"...I guess that guy's been brought here to Angel Island too." Young Sonic thought, then began to think. "Hmm...Tikal said that the Chaos Emerald is that way. Maybe if I can follow Sonic in that direction, maybe we'll meet for real and team up. Guess we'll see."

While he still had no idea what Sonic was looking for or what his role in this situation is, Young Sonic decided to take this as his next course of action. So the eleven year old quickly ran and sped after him to both meet his alternate-self for real as well as find the third Chaos Emerald.

Sonic had been running so fast that he only had a faint sight of a lighter blue figure, one that he thought looked like the kid he saved from the Dragon earlier before rescuing Red, and a familiar red glow of light but it faded before he got the chance to see what it was. Plus he felt bad for having to leave the other kid behind, but hoped that he could meet up with him later and apologize, hoping that he would be okay.

So when the blue hedgehog ran past the unknown lighter blue hedgehog, he immediately called out to him while his current companion held on for dear life. "Sorry!"

"Uh, Sonic? I think you should slow down before you crash into something, or fall off a cliff!" Red cried out frantically as he continued to hold onto his savior's shoulders, trying his best not to fall off.

"Don't worry, kiddo. I do this all the time!" Sonic reassured with a smirk, giving his new friend a thumbs up.

"Look out!" The eight year old hedgehog suddenly screamed, pointing up ahead with wide eyes of terror.

Fortunately, the sixteen year old hedgehog heard the clattering metal before his companion gave out the warning and looked up ahead to see familiar robots that looked a lot like Eggman only they were armed with laser cannons. Skidding to a stop and sighing in exasperation, the hero of Mobius gently set down the now dazed Red before instructing him to take cover. Once his new friend had done so by hiding behind a broken piece of debris, Sonic took action by Spin Dashing into one of the robots before he karate-kicked and punched another and then Homing Attacked the other three before they had the chance to attack him due to his increased speed he learned over the years.

"Ugh. I wish I could forget about these things. Eggman sure loves to show off his over-sized egg ego." The cobalt hedgehog groaned, placing a hand onto his forehead, shrugging with another arm.

"Wow...! Sonic, that...that was so awesome!" Red cried out, and raced over to his blue savior once it was safe enough for him to rejoin the older hedgehog. "I mean, I've seen Scourge fight before and it was pretty scary considering all the bad things he's done, but you...the way how you fight was super heroic!"

"Heh. Well, I'm not a hero for nothin'." Sonic chuckled as he turned to face him with another shrug, before asking carefully. "Though I'm gonna take a wild guess here and say that...Your brother has done so many terrible things, huh?"

The red-brown hedgehog sighed, "Yeah. While I still want to believe there's some good in him, he's been so greedy and selfish, everybody's been calling him the Terror of Moebius."

"Huh? Moebius? Don'tcha mean Mobius?" The blue hedgehog asked, now confused. But from his friend's now confused look as well, he realized that what he said confused the younger hedgehog.

"No, Moebius. M. O. E. B. I. U. S." Red spelled out, as though wondering what the teenager was talking about.

Raising an eyebrow in bewilderment, Sonic scratched his ear awkwardly. "Okaaaaay...I think you and Silver gonna have to explain more on what's going on. Because the way how everybody including me spell Mobius, it's M, O, B, I, U, S. No "E" in there at all. Something really weird is going on."

Though the moment he said this, a sudden realization dawned onto him as he then remembered what Tikal had told him earlier before the start of his quest.

"Something has happened, for the very strange beast has engulfed everything of our world's existence, slowly merging with two others. I only know that two others, one much like ours, and another...similar but quite different, have been engulfed as well. Mobius is the last to have been brought here."

Eyes widening, Sonic softly gasped another piece of the puzzle fitted into place that actually makes perfect sense. Not to mention the unusual distortion that took him to two unfamiliar places he'd never been to before; that Giant Toy and Game City, and the Bamboo Jungle.

"Red...I think I've figured out part of the problem." He muttered, beginning to turn slightly pale at this. "I'm not sure if you or Dr. Kintobor know anything about other worlds, but...it looks like you and me come from two separate worlds. Same goes for my friends and your brother, and your friends, too. They're merging somehow...!"

"Wait, what!?" The younger hedgehog exclaimed in shock and disbelief. "Whaddya mean 'merge' and two separate worlds?"

"I don't how how it's possible, but I got a bad feeling Scourge and Eggman somehow harnessed some kind of evil power from the monster that brought us here, and parts of my world as well as the two places I've never seen before, including the Bamboo Jungle where I saved you from the dragon, right here into this white empty place." Sonic explained his theory.

Red couldn't help but gasp at that, and while he still didn't quite understand what his new friend meant, he suddenly also had a bad feeling that he may have an idea on how this happened and muttered in horror. "Oh no...!"

Feeling his guilt increase more drastically but fought down the urge to scream in frustration and sorrow, the blue hedgehog forced himself to calm down and focus as he knew that time was already beginning to run out. "We'd better hurry and find that third Sol Emerald and meet up with the others. I don't think there's much time left."

"Okay!" The younger hedgehog nodded.

"C'mon, Red!" Sonic gestured, and his new friend nodded before climbing onto the blue hedgehog's back and after telling him to hang on, the young hero dashed off quickly as possible in high hopes of locating the Sol Emerald before it was too late.

The blue hedgehog and his companion traveled pretty far and despite the latter's warning as they were reaching a dead end which was a cliff, the hero of Mobius knew better since he was experienced with this sort of thing. He jumped and successfully began surfing on the grind rail that was surprisingly added after telling Red to keep holding tight, which the red-brown hedgehog did and despite the sudden fear of falling, the eight year old was awed by this experience.

"WOO HOOO!" Sonic cheered, before leaping carefully from one rail to another to avoid more of Eggman's robots until he jumped and when Red screamed when they began falling, they landed literally onto a cloud which bounced them up onto another soft but solid cloud and kept on going until they landed on a platform that moved, far too slowly for the cobalt teenager's taste, but towards another solid ground part of the Sky Sanctuary.

Eventually after going through the obstacles such as facing more of the Robo-Eggs and reaching the other side, Sonic landed in front of a familiar fountain where another, but larger Eggman-look-alike robot stood and to his and Red's shock, it was approaching something shiny. While neither one knew if it was a Sol Emerald or not, the young teenage hero wasn't going to take his chances. So after setting his new friend down and telling him to stand back, the sixteen year old quickly Homing Attacked it on it's side, causing the robot to stumble and nearly fall into the fountain.

It turned it's attention to the blue hedgehog who didn't give it a chance to attack, even as the robot then aimed it's laser at him. Sonic just smirked before he easily dodged to the right and zig-zagged from one aimed laser beam from another and then Spin Dashed into it's chest and attacked it furiously until his opponent shattered into small explosive pieces. The young hero in the meantime landed safely in style.

As Sonic stood up while dusting his hands off, Red once again approached him with awe on his young face, as the latter said. "Whoa! Everything about you is...is totally cool! That-that grind rail surfing, and fighting those robots...! I mean...You're awesome!"

"Heh. Piece of cake!" Sonic chuckled with a wink and his trademark thumbs up. "Those guys are nothing compared to Egghead's giant killer robots, and experience has told me that the best way to solve problems is to kick robot butt!"

"Man, I wish I could be a hero like you." Red sighed, inspired before sighing. "I don't even have any kind of cool skill and I'm just a normal hedgehog while Scourge's always been super fast, like you."

Feeling sympathy for the kid, the blue hedgehog placed a comforting hand onto the younger hedgehog's shoulder and bend on one knee to gaze at him at eye level. "Hey. Everybody's good at something. Ya' just gotta find what you're really good at. It'll take time, but I think you'll figure it out."

The red-brown hedgehog felt a little bit encouraged, but he lowered his gaze and said. "Dr. Kintobor said the same thing, but Scourge said I'm...I'm weak and useless and that...it was a waste of time and bad idea to be friends with the doctor. Even after I saved my brother...I'm not good at anything."

"Red..." Sonic whispered, shocked at how his younger new friend had risked his life to save the ungrateful Scourge's and while he didn't know if it was related or not, he had a feeling it had something to do with how the poor kid got swallowed up by the Dragon.

Red sighed again, and while he still felt a little uncomfortable, knowing that he just blurted out on how he saved his older brother's life, decided that now was the time to tell his blue savior the truth. "That's how I got eaten by the Dragon, and it was after...after we had an argument. I don't know how long I was in there for, but it felt like a week or maybe even just a day or two, maybe even five. Back at home..."

Red's Flash-Back: One week before Scourge's attack...

Red and Scourge were staring at each other as the former had found the latter in the Bamboo Jungle after managing to find him thanks to Dr. Kintobor's invention of teleportation, which only worked this once. Ovi had warned the child that he'd be left stranded until he was hopefully found and told him to watch out for the Dragons. The eight year old hoped to talk sense into his big brother, even if that hope was just a wishful thinking.

"Why can't you just leave me alone, you little brat?" Scourge grunted, his patience already running thin as his younger brother had somehow found him. He had a pretty good idea on how the kid found him and he hated it.

"Well, why can't you just stop being mean and greedy? Life isn't just about you, and you know it!" Red argued angrily, doing his best to stand his ground.

"I can do whatever I want! One day soon, I'm gonna use the Sol Emeralds and rule this stinkin' planet and have it do things my way!" The green hedgehog hissed. "I'm not gonna let you or Kinto-butt, or that Cat Princess and her new boyfriend, which I can tell that you guys haven't met yet, stop me!"

True Red had no idea of Blaze's new friendship with Silver who, unknowingly to the younger hedgehog, had arrived from the future, but that didn't stop him to at least keep trying in talking sense to his older, cruel and evil brother.

"This isn't what Mom or Dad would want!" The eight year old hedgehog exclaimed, trying hard not to cry even if tears began to sting his eyes, but he ignored them.

"I don't care! They're dead! The doctors couldn't save them, which is why I hate them, because they suck! You made a big mistake in making friends with Kinto-butt, Maurice!" Scourge shouted furiously.

"Then this isn't what Fiona would want either! Sure she'd want to rule the world with you, which I think is the worst idea in the Universe, but I think she'd learn her lesson and she wouldn't be happy with you staying like this!" Red responded.

That really pushed the line with the seventeen year old, because he growled darkly and in rage, shoving his younger brother in the chest which forced him to stumble back but not enough to fall onto the ground. "Shut up! SHUT UP! You don't know anything about Fiona! Of course she'd be happy with me! It's our dream to rule Moebius together! What would a kid like you know anyway? You're only eight years old! A useless, weak, crybaby of a punk who wants attention! Ya' got it from Ovi, ya' got it from that Cat, what more would you want!?"

"Scourge-"

"I'm going to bring her back! I'm going to use the Sol Emeralds to bring her back to life! Then I will use their power to rule the planet! And if you so much as try and team up with my enemies and stop me, then you're my enemy too!" Scourge continued, before adding with a cold smirk. "But then again, how would you fight, anyway? You don't have any kind of skills, Maurice, and you never will. You're a loser."

It shattered Red's heart upon hearing these words, being called as such. Despite this, and despite that all hope for his older brother to change for the better was rapidly fading away into nothing, he still wanted to believe.

"Maybe you're right." He tearfully began, lowering his gaze to avoid in Scourge seeing him silently cry. "Maybe I am a loser...But I won't change my mind on you."

"Hm?" Scourge questioned, smirking at his brother's tearful expression.

Red then glared up quickly at him even as tears fell free, declaring. "I won't stop believing that you'll see that your dreams suck! You'll always be my big brother, even though you don't want me as your little brother!"

"Idiot." The green hedgehog frowned in disappointment. "You still try to attach to others including me like a magnet, and it makes me sick."

The younger hedgehog was about to reply when he saw something begin to loom over his older brother and his eyes widened in sheer terror and horror, as while the sky began to turn dark with clouds covering the sun, the dragon's shadow loomed and covered Scourge who, while he was aware of the day being cloudy, paid too much attention on how to get the kid out of his quills and failed to sense the danger right behind him.

"Scourge, look out! There's a dragon right behind you!" Red screamed, pointing at the dragon who grinned evilly, ready to devour the two hedgehog brothers as it's meal.

"Yeah, right. You think I was born yesterday?" Scourge scoffed, thinking that this was some sort of joke. Unfortunately, that was his mistake as he then heard a deep growl behind him which, blinking in confusion and maybe a small amount of fear, looked up behind him just as the dragon lunged to swallow him whole.

"SCOURGE!" Red exclaimed and, while he knew that this was a bad idea and that his brother would never save him, made the risk of running forward as fast as he could and pushed the green hedgehog out of the way. While the startled and shocked teenager stumbled backwards, the eight year old screamed in terror while curling himself up into a ball to try and shield himself.

The dragon, rather than eating the older hedgehog, instead gobbled up Red whole, lifted it's head up and easily swallowed it's prey whole before roaring. The poor helpless eight year old was swallowed all the way down into the stomach and landed inside, surrounded by skeletons of other eaten victims who have died of lack of food and water rather than digestion. Recovering and, seeing the horrible place he was now trapped in, quivered in fear and whimpered.

He cried out for help, but no matter what, he knew that as minutes passed, the red-brown hedgehog knew that this was going to be the end of him. Because his selfish, cruel, evil brother most likely ran away, leaving him to die. Besides, no one would come to his rescue, anyway.

Or so he thought until in a week's time...

End of Flash-Back:

"...After that, I was stuck in there 'til you showed up." Red finished, trying really hard not to cry, even as tears began leaking and squeezed his eyes shut while bracing himself to be scolded.

Sonic's heart stopped for a brief moment or two over the story his friend had recalled, horrified and disgusted beyond belief on how Scourge could do such cruel things. While he had no idea who this Fiona person is, or how she either died or went missing, he began to think that the Sol Emeralds are part of the situation that has happened. Memories of how the Chaos Emeralds brought Yacker back to life filled his mind even if the blue hedgehog had subconsciously wished for his cute little Wisp friend's return was the cause of it.

While the blue hedgehog still blamed himself for Eggman's survival, he couldn't believe that Scourge had left his brother to die, just after Red had sacrificed himself to save the green hedgehog's life, which that had been a mistake in and on itself. Still, it was a noble thing to do, because while their relationship was unfair because of the evil hedgehog's evil personality, the younger hedgehog still believed with all of his heart, and he had done so out of love.

It broke the young hero's heart.

"Oh, Red...C'mere." Sonic stood up and gently pulled the distraught and traumatized child into his arms for a hug, giving him deja vu of how he comforted Tails when the blue hedgehog heard of how the two-tailed kit had suffered cruelty over bullying over his tails and skills of intelligence and love for machinery after his parents had died.

Red was surprised by such comfort and warmth for being in the older hedgehog's embrace, and for that moment felt such support from a stranger who had risked his own life to save his, because he cared much more, being a hero and always doing the right thing. A complete opposite of Scourge's actions. So much so that the eight year old hedgehog felt overwhelmed, and surely enough, he began sobbing and hugged the blue hedgehog, his tears soaking the sixteen year old's chest.

"I-I'm sorry, Sonic! I-it's all my fault...!" Red cried. "I d-don't know how or why, but's it's because of me this has happened! I-it's all my fault!"

"Shhhh...It's gonna be okay, buddy. Everything will be alright. I promise." Sonic whispered, gently rubbing the boy's back. No, it wasn't Red's fault. The blue hedgehog knew that it was his fault that Eggman survived because of his own reckless actions, and because of this, he believed that it made perfect sense that the evil scientist had found Scourge and like with Shadow but more sinister, decided to team up in order to get the Sol Emeralds and rule both worlds, with the Monster by their side.

Not that the blue hedgehog believed that it would work on either one's favor, due to Eggman's bad history of being betrayed by living beings that wouldn't obey him; Chaos, Shadow, and Dark Gaia were the perfect examples. But he'd worry about that later. Right now, Sonic knew he had a job to do, and now it included to hopefully knock some sense and reason into Scourge.

"I'll set things right, Red. Okay?" He added, doing his absolute best to comfort his new friend.

While the eight year old hedgehog still blamed himself for what was happening, the kindness and support from Sonic made him surprisingly feel better. Sniffling, Red wiped away his tears, and smiled emotionally at his new friend and savior. "T-Thank you, Sonic. Your little brother sure is lucky to have you. I wish Scourge was much like you. You're so brave, and kind and super cool."

Sonic laughed sheepishly, carefully pulling away while placing one hand onto his friend's shoulder, and scrated his head with his left hand. "Well, you're pretty brave too, kiddo. The way how you risked your life to save Scourge, even if he was, well, not to hurt your feelings or anything, but totally ungrateful, makes you a caring person. From what you told me in your story, you're not a loser at all and you never will be."

"Huh?" Red blinked, slightly confused.

"What I'm saying is that the fact you still believed there was some good in your brother, that you knew that your folks won't be happy with him for what he's done, that you saved his life, just proves that you have a big heart. You have strong loyalty, Red, because what you did was out of love, no matter how complicated it was. The real strength lies within all of us, because our hearts make us of who we really are, not our appearances." The blue hedgehog told him warmly and wisely in his own way.

The younger hedgehog stared up at the blue hedgehog in amazement, as everything Sonic said was almost everything that Dr. Ovi Kintobor would tell him, but in the teenager's own words. He was fun, kind of reckless, but cool, kind, caring and surprisingly wise for his age, even if he was only eight years older than him. Not only that, Sonic believed in him, because although saving Scourge proved to be a mistake, the fact that he'd done so out of love and courage...it was the best thing he'd ever heard.

"T-Thanks, Sonic. I really try to be brave." The eight year old blushed pink on his muzzle, and giggled when the sixteen year old carefully patted him on the head, gently ruffling him at his quills without poking himself.

"Kid, you are brave. Courage isn't something to come by easily, but when you put your mind into it, you can face your fears by always believing what you know is right, even in the most dangerous situations. I'm not saying to risk your life constantly, even though I should take up my own advice, but do it when the time is right. Personally, you did that already, and I bet your parents would be proud of you." The cobalt teenager told him.

"Yeah." Red nodded, now feeling a lot better, knowing that he was right. The younger hedgehog came close in joining his parents into the afterlife, but the fact that he saved his brother's life even if it caused this mess somehow, he realized that it was kind of a heroic thing to do.

"C'mon. Let's get that Sol Emerald and meet up with the others. Gotta turn another friend of mine back to normal." Sonic gestured, and his new friend nodded in agreement.

The duo turned their attention back to the shiny thing that the robot had been intending on grabbing before the blue hedgehog had trashed into a pile of junk heap. As the two hedgehogs approached it to get a closer look, they found that it was indeed the third Emerald as they had suspected, only this one was purple. The teenager carefully picked it to examine it while Red leaned in for a closer look, before the light shone brightly and the two had to shield their eyes to protect their vision.

When it died down, they looked around and found that they were back where Sonic started, and for Red, it was the first time he'd seen such a place.

"Uh...Where are we?" The younger hedgehog asked, a bit fearfully.

"That weird white place I told ya' about. I still have no idea what it is, but I can tell ya that it gives me the creeps." Sonic replied, before he and Red noticed colour returning to not just around the Mushroom Hill, but also up on Angel Island.

"Whoa! It's like a magical movie set!" The red-brown hedgehog exclaimed with a sweat-drop, before noticing the frozen statue of Knuckles and asked, while trying not to laugh at just how silly the echidna looked. "Who's he?"

"That's my friend, Knuckles. Which kinda reminds me..." The cobalt hedgehog answered as, knowing what to do now that he had the third Sol Emerald, which was the only Emerald he had on him since Silver had the first two, he held it in front of the echidna.

Surely enough as he hoped for and predicted, sparkles and colour began to flow over the frozen Knuckles and in an instant, he was restored to normal...and ended up suddenly trying to keep his balance.

"Whoa-whoa-whoa!" Knuckles yelped before falling over onto his back with a thud, hitting the back of his head on a small rock. "Ow!"

Red flinched in sympathy while Sonic shook his head, his smile returning. 'Poor Knucklehead. He can't catch a break, can he?' He thought as Knuckles sat up and rubbed his head with a wince, before the latter glared up at the blue hedgehog in annoyance.

"Don't you dare laugh...!" The red echidna growled.

"Too late. I already did. You shoulda seen how you looked when you were all frozen. Ya looked like you'd seen a ghost!" The cobalt hedgehog snickered, chuckling, before quickly saying before they'd both in end up another argument. "Anyway, it's great to have you back, man."

The sixteen year old hedgehog held out a hand to help the seventeen year old echidna who, while still miffed for being laughed at and more than a little embarrassed, took it and was pulled up standing. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he was very relieved to see his hedgehog friend again, because being stuck like that was a nightmare and like Tails and Amy, the Guardian thought he was dead.

"Thanks for the help." Knuckles replied, before adding with a smirk. "Not that I needed it, but it's good to have my sanctuary back!"

"No problem." Sonic replied, though he did rub the back of his neck nervously. "Though we're in bigger trouble than it looks."

when his friend looked at him questioningly, he pointed upward at the two areas with a thumb. When the red echidna looked to see where the blue hedgehog was gesturing, his purple eyes widened in sheer shock and horror.

"Oh no!" The Guardian of the Master Emerald cried out in dismay, with a sweat drop. "How did my island get here!?"

"Well, first off, it was that monster that wrecked the party. Though I still have no clue on where we are, but I think me, Tails and Amy are getting closer in figuring it out." The teenage hero began.

'Huh? A party? Sonic and his friends were having a party? Who are Tails and Amy?' Red thought in confusion as he lingered in the background a little listening on the conversation.

That made Knuckles growl angrily as memories of how this mess happened made him furious. "When I see that thing again, I'm gonna give it an extra serving of knuckle-sandwiches with sour cream, pickles and super-spicy clobbering! Ugh! I knew something was going to happen today, and I should've just stayed with the Master Emerald!"

Sonic looked away, his guilt rising even further. He wished he'd known this would've happened, and the fact that he was solely responsible for the whole thing made him feel even worse. His friends being like cursed to be statues, parts of their home brought into this place, all because of his stupid mistake three months ago. Not that Knuckles staying on Angel Island or helping to set up the blue hedgehog's birthday party would make a difference since the end result would've been the same.

"...I'm sorry. This whole thing is all my fault." He finally muttered after a solid minute of the red echidna ranting on.

"Huh?" Knuckles blinked, now confused as he turned to the blue hedgehog and was genuinely surprised with how sad, depressed and guilt-ridden the younger Mobian was all of the sudden. He hasn't seen Sonic like this since...since the Starlight Carnival months ago, back when the hero had spent two months blaming himself over the Dark Gaia incident. "What're you talking about?"

"Because secondly, each of these places have all of the robots inside them whenever I go in to investigate. Tails, Amy, Silver and Red will tell you more since I gotta find the Sol Emeralds to fix things up and find and save everybody else." Sonic continued.

"Robots inside this places? Who is this Silver and what are the Sol Emeralds?" The red echidna asked, folding his arms with an raised eyebrow, not catching on what the blue hedgehog was saying, though the robots part suddenly made him feel very uneasy but at the same time didn't think it was possible.

He then finally noticed the younger hedgehog who waved shyly, which had the seventeen year old echidna ask with an raised eye-brow. "And who's this kid?"

"Well, he's-"

"Sonic, there you are!" Tails' voice called out, interrupting the aforementioned blue hedgehog who, along with Knuckles and Red turned to see Tails fly over, with Silver using his telekinesis to lift himself and Amy towards them before all three landed gently on the ground. Needless to say the red echidna was shocked by the new unfamiliar silver hedgehog's ability as was the red-brown hedgehog who was also amazed by the two-tailed fox's ability to fly.

When the other three saw the other two, the nine year old kit and the thirteen year old hedgehog were relieved to see Knuckles safely back to normal, while Silver had no idea who the echidna was, but when he saw the eight year old boy, his eyes widened as he somehow recognized him.

'What? But...how can this be?' Silver thought as he stared at Red in disbelief.

"Whoa! You two guys can fly? That's so cool!" Red exclaimed excitedly.

"Uh, thanks." Tails, not recognizing the newcomer, bashfully replied while scratching the back of his head.

"Sonic, who's this?" Amy asked, curiously.

Sighing while attempting to calm down before he'd have to explain to Knuckles on what is going on, introduced his friends to Red. "Guys, this is Red the Hedgehog. He's a new friend I saved a little earlier."

"Hi, nice to meet you guys." The eight year old hedgehog waved a little shyly.

"Well, hi there, Red. I'm Amy Rose." The pink hedgehog greeted warmly, beaming happily.

"I'm Miles Prower, but everybody calls me by my nickname Tails." Tails added with a smile.

"I'm Knuckles the Echidna." Knuckles added, though he wanted to get more information on what's going on at the moment than anything else. He then turned his attention to the fourteen year old hedgehog and asked, raising an eyebrow. "And I take you're Silver that Sonic just mentioned."

"Yes, I am." The aforementioned hedgehog replied coolly, before turning his attention back to Red and asked, a bit shakily and still in shock. "But still...You're Red? As in, Maurice "Red" Hedgehog?"

While Sonic's friends were confused by this, Sonic himself gazed at the youngest hedgehog who nodded and replied. "Yeah...wait, you mean you're Silver? The really nice hedgehog Dr. Kintobor told me a little bit about? Blaze's new friend?"

Rather than answering Red's question, Silver shook his head. "I can't believe it! I never thought I'd ever get a chance to meet you! Ovi told me that Scourge told him that you were eaten by a dragon in Bamboo Jungle a week ago!"

"He was WHAT!?" Tails, Amy and Knuckles exclaimed in shock, glancing back and fourth between the two new hedgehogs while Sonic began to feel even more awkward and more than a little uncomfortable.

"Well, uh...I was, but Sonic saved me. I was stuck inside the dragon's stomach and I couldn't get out." The red-brown hedgehog shrugged uncomfortably.

"As weird as this is gonna sound, remember what I said when I saw something crazy happen back at Casino Night?" The aforementioned blue hedgehog asked two of his friends and Silver who nodded, before he said. "It happened again, only this time I'm pretty certain I have a vague idea on what's going on, given what Tikal told me earlier."

That got Knuckles' attention as he turned to the younger teenager and asked in wide-eyed disbelief. "Tikal's here too?"

Unfortunately, before Sonic could once again answer his friend's question, everyone heard some sort machinery noise echo around the area. Glancing around to see what it was, the four Mobians and the two Moebians quickly turned their attention to what they saw was another portal like giant ring which the blue hedgehog realized was just like the one that brought him out of the Casino Night.

"Okay, while the others tell you what's going on on what they know so far, I'm gonna do see what's inside there. Red, you hold onto this." Sonic instructed before handing over the youngest hedgehog the purple Sol Emerald before he immediately dashed off and, unknowingly to him and to the confusion of everyone else who noticed, jumped into the portal just seconds before, to what Tails and Amy saw was Young Sonic who had just found the third Chaos Emerald, did.

"Wait, Sonic!" A younger voice that sounded like Tails called out, and from the other side of the Mushroom Hill from the other entrance, Young Tails emerged before stopping, along with Young Amy who were both unaware of their older, alternate selves staring in shock along with Red and Knuckles who looked just as shocked.

"It's them." Silver muttered in disbelief, which his voice was heard because the younger two Mobians turned around and blinked in surprise to find that they had company.

"What? What the?" Knuckles asked, dumbfounded and bewildered to see two of Tails and two of Amy.

"Uh...Are they your younger brother and sister?" Red asked curiously to Tails and Amy who both silently shook their heads in negative response.

Still bewildered even as the younger Tails and younger Amy approached, the red echidna turned to the nine year old fox and asked. "Tails, what is going on?"

"I...don't know yet. I'm still as lost as you are." Tails replied, once again rubbing the back of his head.

"If you like, maybe I can help you figure it out." Young Tails offered.

"Good idea! Thanks." The older Tails replied happily.

Silver groaned, facepalming himself as he grumbled in his mind. 'Great. Just when things couldn't get more complicated. Plus I really need to ask Sonic how he managed to save Scourge's little brother and yet I still remember Ovi telling me that the poor kid was supposed to be dead.'

It looks like things have become more and more complicated.

A/N: I'm definitely positive Sonic and Young Sonic are going to meet at last in the next chapter, and now Maurice "Red" the Hedgehog has joined the team. Since my Sonic stories are head-canon, I made Red as Scourge's younger brother to add in on the plot.

See you later!
