Motorshipping (Honda x Jonouchi x Marik)
"Hey, pass me that wrench, will you?"
"This one?"
"No, no, the other one. With the bigger jaw. Thanks."
Marik took the wrench from Jonouchi with a grateful grin, and turned back to the engine.
"This thing is really old," Honda said.
"I know," Marik said. "How do you think I got it so cheap?"
The spiky-haired boy stood on the other end of the motorcycle. He started to walk across the side, looking down at its handles, seat, wheels, with an appreciative gaze. Jonouchi was crouched down on the other side of the motorcycle, next to Marik on one side and the tool box on the other. His hands, like Marik's, were covered in grease, and there was a bandage wrapped around his wrist from where he had cut himself on some metal siding.
"But it's in really nice condition," Marik said. "Guy I bought it thought it was trashed – looks like it's just something small with the motors."
"Yeah, if you can get to that small part without destroying the whole thing," Jonouchi said with a grin.
Marik rolled his eyes.
"That's why you're here, isn't it? Pass me that Phillips head."
Jonouchi fished it out of the tool box and handed it over.
"Don't you already have a motorcycle?" Honda asked, crouching down to check out the headlights.
"Yeah, but this one is vintage," Marik said.
He went in at the engine with the screwdriver, trying to push aside wires without breaking them, checking at the damage.
"My dad used to like motorcycles," Jonouchi said. "He sold his, though. I remember I got so mad at him that day – he had told me that he was going to give it to me when I was old enough."
"I remember that," Honda said. "You punched me in the gut after school that day."
"Geez, can't you do anything without violence?" Marik said, with a grin.
"Speak for yourself, criminal mastermind."
"Careful, Jou. I might not let you have a turn on this thing when it's finished."
He paused long enough to grin at Jonouchi, who rolled his eyes back. Honda laughed.
"You probably shouldn't, anyway," Honda said, leaning over the motorcycle to grin at both of them. "Jonouchi's a walking disaster."
"What happened with your motorcycle was your fault," Jonouchi said.
Marik glanced up, intrigued.
"What did he do?"
Jonouchi waved his hands, trying to stop Honda from talking, but the other boy just grinned widely before launching into a story about how Jonouchi had somehow managed to get Honda's motorbike upside down on top of a fence before he had even started riding it.
Marik laughed as he fiddled with the motor.
It was a good day.
