"And it's Mandalore the Hunter, not Tin man. Ge'hutuun. (Villain.)" Ryoshi groaned out as he fell to his knees from the aching pain all over his body.
Tapping the Comms link on his helmet, he needed to be quick before he passed out. "Call Naomasa Tsukauchi."
"Hey Midoriya, where's the bust tonight?" Ryoshi could feel Naomasa's grin on the other end of the phone call as Ryoshi violently coughed up blood in his helmet.
"Kobayashi Street near Kiyashi Ward's Shopping Mall. There's a back alleyway nearby. Bring an Ambulance along with you. I got 13 Thugs who need a cell and another who needs a body bag." Ryoshi managed to groan out before he passed out with the phone call still connected.
"Wait, what do you mean body bag!? Midoriya!? MIDORIYA!" Naomasa screamed down the phone line but he never got a response. Before he disconnected the call he called out within the Station. "Code H-12! I repeat we have a Code H-12, we have a Hero down! Location is a back alley on Kobayashi Street near the Shopping Mall in Kiyashi. Get Kiyashi PD on the line ASAP! Requesting Medical support team and someone get Recovery Girl to Kiyashi University Hospital! Come on, let's move it!"
Chapter 4: Hospital visiting hours.
Slowly opening his eyes, Ryoshi seen nothing but white as he hearing of beeping from something nearby. 'Still alive then.' Ryoshi thought to himself as he knew that he was in the Hospital.
Opening his eyes more he noticed that he was alone in his private room with a cast over his left arm. "You're awake. Good." Ryoshi looked over toward the door to find it was Chiyo Shuzenji, also know as the Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl.
"Yeah." Ryoshi groaned out in a raspy voice. "Good thing I had my armour isn't it."
Ryoshi's slight smirk was cut short as Recovery Girl slapped the top of his head with her cane. "You're damn right you're lucky to be alive. I've not seen someone take a beating like that and still wake up." Recovery Girl complained as she handed Ryoshi a glass of water.
"It's nice to see you still show the same amount of affection after all these years." Ryoshi groaned as he rubbed the top of his head before he drank the water he was handed. "How long was I out for?"
"Five days. You had thrown up a lot of blood due to major internal bleeding among other injuries you received. I wasn't able to do anything until yesterday as you had only recently stabilized." Chiyo answered as she took a seat beside Ryoshi's bed.
"And the Thugs?" Ryoshi asked he he stared down at the glass in his hands.
"All thirteen captured. Only Saki Oroku didn't make it. Most likely you'll be asked on what had happened." Once more Chiyo answered
"I did what I had to... I was either me or him... It was the only way I would be able to even see another day." Ryoshi's voice was sour as he lightly clenched his grip on the empty glass in his hand.
"You don't seem happy about it." Chiyo stated as she placed a hand over Ryoshi's right arm.
"I don't regret what I done. I made a call so I'll stick by it..." Ryoshi stated before he sighed out. "It's what Izuku's gonna think of me that worries me."
"I think that he'll be happy to still have a Brother." Chiyo's simple answer broke Ryoshi as he started to break down. Not for the fact he nearly died, but that she knew that she was right. "There, there... It's over now."
Recovery Girl done her best to try and reassure Ryoshi as the man continued to cry in relief. The waterworks didn't stop though as Inko and Izuku both arrived as both rushed over to tightly hug him.
"Sorry I made you both worry over me." Ryoshi cried out as he held onto them tightly.
"We're both just glad you're safe now." Inko replied through her own tears, she hadn't seen her eldest son cry in years. Not since Hisashi had passed away, and the sight of him doing so now had easily set off the big cry baby of a mother he loved.
"Ditto." Izuku added as he held on for his dear life. When the trio had stopped crying Ryoshi began to chuckle lightly.
"Sorry I had to borrow your Pistols." Ryoshi stated through his light chuckling, ruffling Izuku's hair as he done so. But he then seen the slightly worried look on his face. "And no, they didn't do it. They don't have that setting in them. I made sure of that before I gave them to you." Ryoshi stated out confused Inko a little bit as she seen Izuku's worry leave his face.
"How long will he be here for?" Inko softly asked Recovery Girl who happily smiled back.
"He'll be in for another five more days." Chiyo's statement caused Ryoshi's eyes to widen and look at her with a slack jaw. "See it as punishment and a reminder not to do something like that again."
"You don't have to tell me twice." Ryoshi grumbled out.
"For now just rest as much as you can, you'll need your stamina back before I can fully heal your arm." Recovery Girl replied as she got off her seat. "I'll let you both stay for another hour before he'll need to get some sleep."
Inko and Izuku both bowed in thanks as Recovery Girl waved at them both before leaving. But as she left Ryoshi noticed the worried look return to Izuku's face.
"I'm fine Izuku. Ni'm su oyayc. (I'm still alive.)" Ryoshi reassured Izuku but his younger brother only shook his head in response.
"It's not that." Izuku replied as he looked more worried. "Ogir's a nar'sur. (There's a video.)"
Ryoshi groaned out knowing there was a video on the internet of him killing a Villain. "Haar'chak! (Damn it!)" Ryoshi cursed as Inko lightly slapped his right arm.
"I might not know what you're saying but I can still tell if it's a curse or not." Inko lightly glared at her eldest but it quickly turned into a soft and worried smile.
"Is it over the news?" Ryoshi asked in slightly daunting tone.
"Yeah." Inko answered as she held onto his right arm. "It been the main headline news since it was leaked on all the Hero news outlets."
"Was my name released?" Ryoshi asked in his own worry now. Part of being Mandalore was to keep his identity from the public unknown.
"Only Mandalore." Izuku answered as he gave his phone over to Ryoshi.
Thankfully it wasn't the video on this phone but multiple different headlines. Ryoshi scrolled down as he briefly read through them.
Hero turned Killer?
Mandalore critically injured as Raid turns Violent.
Mandalore the Hunter or Mandalore the Murderer?
Hero finally snaps as Mandalore kills a Villain.
Hero murders defenceless Villain!
Ryoshi frowned as he kept reading. None of them seemed a little bit positive at all until he found one and clicked on it to read a little more.
The Villain Muscular finally killed but at what cost?
There are a long list of victims that have fallen to the Former Villain, Muscular. Some of those Victims include many brave Heroes who died fighting this Monster. But his reign of terror was finally ended but at the cost of a Hero crossing the line.
The Hero in question was Mandalore the Hunter. A Hero who appeared six years ago and near instantly gained a reputation on being severely brutal on Villains who crossed his path. Adding only to his mystery as Mandalore has yet to make any statements to the media nor does he have a Social Media account to his name.
Footage appeared online shortly after the altercation, showing the final moments between Villain and Hero. Having seen the video footage, I was shocked and horrified by what I had witnessed.
However I must also point out that in my view it's clear form the footage that Mandalore was on his last legs and would've joined the long list of Muscular's Victims if he hadn't do what he had done.
However this split second reaction does bring several questions to the attention of the public. Is it fine for Heroes to cross this line in the sand? Should we allow Heroes to carry such weaponry? And what happens now?
Due to Mandalore's secretive nature the fact are yet not fully known, as we only have a 30 second video of the events that took place late last Tuesday evening in Kiyashi.
All we can say is that we hope that Mandalore will come forward and explain his reasoning and that we hope that this news might bring some closure to the relatives and friends of Muscular's Victims.
'Looks like I might have to deal with the Media after this.' Ryoshi internally groaned in annoyance as he handed Izuku's phone back to him. "Looks like I'm gonna have to deal with a Media Circus once I'm cleared." Ryoshi softly stated to which Inko done her best to brush off his worries for the time being.
"That's a problem for later." Inko reassured her son before she grinned at him. "But first I want you to tell me why I wasn't informed you were dating someone?"
Inko's question caught Ryoshi off guard as he looked up at Inko in confusion. "What? Dating?" Ryoshi asked out loud but Inko kept her smirk straight.
So Ryoshi then turned his attention to Izuku who also grinning at him. "Who is it I'm supposed to be dating?"
"Mirko has visited you a few times since you've been here." Izuku answered as he chuckled.
"Wait, Rumi's been here?" Ryoshi asked out loud in shock but flinched instantly after he had done so.
"Oh first name bases!" Inko softly squealed in excitement. "I've already talked to her while you were recovering and she so lovely. Izuku also showed me a photo of you two on a date."
Ryoshi blushed from embarrassment as he attempted to glare to Izuku for his betrayal, only for it to fail as Izuku's grin got wider. "So when can I expect Grandkids so I can spoil them?"
Inko's question was too much for Ryoshi as he covered his face. He could take on Thugs and Villains in a life or death scenario with ease, but his overly excitable mother who was more than happy in embarrassing him was too much for him to handle.
As Izuku laughed at his brother's misfortune, Inko grin turned towards her youngest son. "And I'm still waiting for you and Katsumi-chan to hook up as well y'know."
And like that Izuku swiftly joined his brother in covering their face. Inko was proud of herself that she still had it in her. It was a dangerous skill. One that was only seen in parents. The ability to embarrass their children on matter their age.
The worst part of being stuck in a hospital is being trapped to your bed. Most people would joke about the poor quality of the food, but it's all a mental issue. If you don't want to be somewhere, the food will always taste awful in your mind. In the two days since he had woken his mom and Izuku would visit for an hour or two after Izuku had finished school for the day.
It had been the highlight of his day each time they had arrived. The only sour note he had felt during the Hospital visiting hours was knowing Rumi had yet to visit him since he had woken.
However it was past visiting hours and Ryoshi was watching some TV in his room before he would get an early night's sleep. He wasn't expecting anyone to arrive other than maybe a Doctor or Nurse, but was surprised to see a burgundy haired woman and black haired kid knock on his door and walk in.
"Sorry for disturbing your rest." The woman softly stated. "I'm Shino Sosaki, also known as."
Shino was cut short as Ryoshi continued for her. "Mandalay from the Wild, Wild Pussycats. Sorry but my brother's a big Hero fan and you're part of his favourite team." Ryoshi nervously chuckled before he offered a hand out to Shino. "I'm Ryoshi Midoriya, also known as."
"Mandalore." Shino cut off Ryoshi this time as she smiled at him. "It's nice to know that both myself and my team are known."
"How can I help you two?" Ryoshi asked as he smiled back at Shino.
"We're actually here for my Nephew Kota." Mandalay answered as she brought Kota in front of her. "Kota's parents were killed by Muscular last year. We wanted to thank you for you taking care of him."
Ryoshi's eyes widened as he looked down towards the kid. Kota looked like he was stuck between not wanted to be here and being thankful. "You look like you don't want to be here kid." Ryoshi stated with a soft smile on his face.
"I'm not a fan of Heroes." Kota stated out as Ryoshi raised his eyebrow.
"Why's that?" Ryoshi asked as he kept his smile.
"I don't like Quirks. Okay." Kota answered with a huffy tone which worried Shino a bit but both were caught off guard by Ryoshi's response.
"I don't like them either." Ryoshi's reply caused both Kota and Shino to looked at him in confusion. "In fact I think they're overrated to the point it's preventing people from bettering themselves. Focusing too much on their quirk's power and not their own."
"But you're a Hero!? How can you be a Hero and hate quirks?" Kota asked in confusion.
"I don't really see myself as a Hero." Ryoshi chuckled as he leaned a little bit forward towards Kota and whispered. "I'm more of a Bounty Hunter but don't let anyone else know that."
Ryoshi winked and gave a goofy smile to Kota who still looked confused along with Shino. "Besides the other reason I hate quirks is because I don't have one."
"That's how I knew your name!" Shino stated out as she quickly snapped out of her shocked funk. "You were the one who graduated from UA 6 years ago. The first one to get into the Hero course without a quirk. You're the first quirkless Hero in over 100 years."
"Yep." Ryoshi answered with a proud smile on his face.
"How?" Kota asked in shock. "How did you do it?"
Ryoshi smirked down at Kota as he answered. "Push-ups, sit-ups and plenty of OJ. That and a lot of blood, sweat and tears when training. My old man was the one who massively helped me before he passed on. He never got to see me graduate though." Ryoshi smirk turned into a light frown as he noticed the same look on Kota's face.
"I know that look." Shino put her hands over Kota's shoulder and knelt down to hug him. "You know there was a saying he used to say to me and my brother. One that he would tell himself everyday over his parents. I'm still alive, and although you are dead. I'll always remember you, so you'll be eternal."
"Those are very philosophical words to tell a kid." Shino stated with a thankful smile on her face.
"Yeah. My old man had his moments. I even find myself saying those exact words to myself some times." Roshi replied back as he brought his fist up to Kota.
"You might not be a fan of Heroes kid, but I don't care. I'm just thankful I got to meet someone who no longer has his shadow over them. That what I done was something positive."
Kota blushed a tiny bit as he bumped his fist with Ryoshi who beamed back in response. "Would... Would I be able to get your autograph?" Kota asked as he looked away from Ryoshi in embarrassment.
"Seriously?" Ryoshi asked softly, His shock clearly seen on his face. But when he seen an embarrassed nod from Kota both he and Shino smiled. "Sure kid."
After Ryoshi had signed a piece of paper he handed it over to Kota who held onto it. "Thank you."
"I should be the one thanking you kiddo." Ryoshi replied to Kota's soft thanks.
"Would you be able to wait outside for a moment Kota. I'm just gonna talk some Hero work with Mando here before we go." Shino smiled at her nephew who again thanked Ryoshi before leaving.
"That was the first time someone has ever asked me for an autograph." Ryoshi softly stated as he looked down, a soft smile on his face as he done so.
Shino though turned and hugged Ryoshi catching him off guard. "Thank you for helping Kota."
"There's a lot of thanks going around huh." Ryoshi and Shino both shared a laugh as Shino kissed Ryoshi's cheek.
Ryoshi was left stunned as his jaw slacked as he looked over at a smirking Shino. "It's a shame you're only a little bit younger than me as I only date guys my age. Although I have to warn you to stay clear of Pixie-Bob. She most likely will jump at you if she had the chance."
Ryoshi dumbly nodded as Shino moved towards the door. "I hope to see you again Mando. Get well soon." Shino winked at Ryoshi before she had left Ryoshi's room.
'Maybe being seen as a Hero isn't as bad I thought.' Ryoshi thought to himself as he blushed, laying back on his bed.
During Ryoshi's last full day at the Hospital he had his visit from Naomasa. During their meeting Ryoshi told him everything that had happened as well as his reasoning for killing Muscular.
Naomasa understood what were his reasoning after and informed Ryoshi that he would be marking it as self defence so he wouldn't face any punishment. Although Ryoshi did say after he would take a month break as a self imposed punishment.
But when Ryoshi brought up setting up a possible meeting with some Media reps, Naomasa said he was more than happy to arrange something for him when he was released tomorrow.
It was only a brief meeting but the butterflies in Ryoshi's stomach hadn't settled down yet. But when visiting hour arrived, Ryoshi who was expecting his Mother and Izuku to arrived was shocked to find Rumi arrive in his room.
"Oh, it's good that you're awake. I can finally beat the ever living shit out of you now." Rumi stated with a wide grin as Ryoshi chuckled.
"I don't see that happening for a while, sorry." Ryoshi replied through his laughter. "I was shocked to know that you had visited me when I was still out cold."
Rumi started chuckling along with Ryoshi as she sat down beside him. "Was just making sure that my future victim was a tough as I thinks he is. Consider it a honour I graced you with my presence."
"Of course Little Miss Bunny." Ryoshi stated with a shit eating grin.
"Watch it Green boy. Don't push your luck. I'll still smack a cripple if I need to." Rumi outburst and glare at Ryoshi only caused his laughter to perk up.
"Stop laughing." Rumi shouted out as she started to try and grab Ryoshi, only for him to increase his laughter as he fought back.
"Not a chance. I think it suits you." Ryoshi stated out through his laughter as Rumi's glare got a little bit more heated.
Raising his hands up in surrender, Ryoshi's laughter died down slowly. "I'm only messing with you. I can't help it, I like to tease. It's my addiction."
"Asshole." Rumi grumbled as he released her grip on Ryoshi.
"It is good to see you though." Ryoshi calmly stated as he calmed down.
"I should say the same but I'm not so sure now." Rumi pouted as she sat back down in a huff. "I'm wasn't joking about hitting you earlier y'know. I'm still kind of pissed off at you from that gossip article."
"That I understand." Ryoshi replied as he rubbed his forehead. "What's worse for me is that my Mom was shown that photo by my little brother."
"She seemed nice enough to me though." Rumi smirked as Ryoshi groaned.
"You have no idea how stubborn she can be." Ryoshi groaned out as he rubbed his face. "We're not even seeing one another and she's already asking me embarrassing questions."
"But I suppose it's helped keep my mind off the more recent news." Ryoshi sighed out as reached out for his phone. "I take it that you've read them." Ryoshi stated as he showed Rumi some of the headlines.
"Oh yeah. That's how I found out y'know... I even watched the video." Rumi softly replied as he rubbed her arm.
"Not my proudest moment for sure." Ryoshi grumbled as he put his phone back down.
"Did you plan to do it?" Rumi asked with some hesitance in the tone of her voice.
"The gun was planned. Shooting him wasn't though." Ryoshi answered before he further explained. "I had it in-case of a worse case scenario. I knew that I was walking into a trap, so I tried to cover all my bases."
"You knew that it was a trap!" Rumi shouted in anger as she grabbed a hold of Ryoshi's hospital gown, pulling him up to her face. "And you still fucking went in!?"
"Of course I knew it was a trap! But I also knew that if I didn't spring the trap then other Heroes could've jumped in there with out any questions and they would've died! Like a certain white haired Bunny I know that seems to do it out of fucking habit!" Ryoshi shouted back as Rumi's eyes widened slightly.
Ryoshi took a deep breath as Rumi released his grip on his Hospital gown. "I planned to go in on my own terms, even planned for anything once I was inside. In fact you could argue I over fucking planned. I was carrying enough equipment to take on fifty that night. If it wasn't for being blindsided I would've walked out of there with them all in cuffs!"
"I'm still pissed off about that. I put my guard down for a split second and it nearly cost me my life." Ryoshi sighed in annoyance before he groaned. "And now I have to deal with an press conference tomorrow to explain what had happened since I don't do Social Media."
"Nao's even trying to tell me that I need to show my face but that aint gonna fucking happen." Ryoshi stated as he glance over at his phone. The two had been messaging each other since he had left this morning.
"The Media isn't that bad. They love me." Rumi lightly joked in an attempt to change the mood.
She was successful as Ryoshi started chuckling. "I don't like that kind of attention. I don't want to be seen as a gimmick. Which the Media will do once they discovered I'm quirkless."
"I doubt that someone else's opinion has stopped you before." Rumi stated with a raised eyebrow as she crossed her arms.
"It won't." Ryoshi snorted in his reply. "But it'll effect my reputation among Villains. They might get a bit more cocky when facing me. It make it easier knowing they already know of me through fear."
"Speaking of Social Media though, let's play a little game with them." Rumi's suggestion and teasing grin caused Ryoshi to look at Rumi with confusion.
"A game? You become Jigsaw or something Do you wanna play a game?" Ryoshi ruffed and deepened his voice as he quoted an old film.
Rumi fought to hold back her laughter as she responded. "That was too good. I wasn't expecting an ancient film reference for what I have in mind."
"Then what was it you had planned in this oh so game of yours you wish to entrap me in." Ryoshi replied with a questionably mocking tone.
"A game of old school pre-quirk Hero identity. Y'know, Clark Kent that shit!." Rumi short and brief explanation only caused Ryoshi to look up at her with a raised eyebrow. Rumi rolled her eyes before she further explained. "It's simple. While you're dressed up like Buckethead, on Social Media you'll be pretending to be yourself posing as my boyfriend."
Rumi better description of her plan had caused Ryoshi to lightly blush at her suggestion. "You do know this could make things worse. For both of us?"
"It's possible, but I can live with it. Plus they won't suspect a thing. I mean we both don't work with others so it's a perfect joke." Rumi replied as she pulled out her phone.
Quickly getting down beside Ryoshi, she pulled him close with her left arm and extended her other arm out. "Say Carrot!" Rumi exclaimed as she took a quick photo.
As Rumi looked at the photo she couldn't hold back a smile. As she grinned madly at the camera, Ryoshi was looking over at her with a smirk and a raised eyebrow. 'Perfect... But I can't post this.' Rumi thought to herself. "We need to take another one. So you better damn well smile this time."
Rolling his eyes in response, Ryoshi smiled for the second photo. 'Much better... Still keeping the first one though.' Rumi smirked as she began typing. "And posted!" Rumi smugly stated as she showed Ryoshi her post.
In the Hospital with Greenie-boo who had an accident at work. He broke his poor arm. XOXO
"Greenie-boo?" Ryoshi asked out loud with a confused look
"Just something cutesy to make it sell better." Rui explained as she waved a dismissive hand. "Anyway you'll have to sell that we don't know each other while you're working."
"That'll be easy. I'm a different person when I've got my armour on." Ryoshi replied with a smug grin before he took a more thoughtful look. "Beside I can finally say a line I've wanted to for quite a while."
"I can either bring you in warm... Or cold." Ryoshi stated in his full Mando tone of voice. However it didn't get the reaction he wanted as Rumi started laughing.
"It'll be more intimating with my armour and blaster pointed at them." Ryoshi huffed in embarrassment but this only caused Rumi to fall back on her chair, laughing even harder than before.
"On a more serious note though. How will we be ending this little game you made me a part of?" Ryoshi asked with annoyance.
"Oh, just the normal BS. We'll meet up every now and then. Post a few photos, get seen together in public and then when you reveal yourself as Mando we'll break up." Rumi explained with a shrug as Ryoshi glared at her.
"That'll just make it out that I'm an asshole who lied to you about his real identity!" Ryoshi countered as he pointed at the laughing Rumi.
"Well, you're already halfway there." Rumi sated ack in a know it all tone to her voice. "Besides I don't think you'll be able to handle me as my boyfriend."
"Oh, and why's that?" Ryoshi asked as his eyebrows twitched slightly.
Rumi smirked as she pulled back her hair on her left side and leaned into Ryoshi. "Oh, I don't think you'd have the stamina for me." Rumi whisper/growled into Ryoshi's ear.
"Is that a challenge I hear?" Ryoshi asked back with the same tone in Rumi's ear.
Rumi leaned back and raised her and smirked at Ryoshi. Seeing his phone on a desk beside his bed, Rumi picked it up and started typing in it. "Text me when you're out. We'll have a spar then and you'll find out."
Throwing the phone down on Ryoshi's lap, Ryoshi froe and stared down at it. "I'll catch you later Greenie-boo." Rumi smugly smirked as she waved at a shocked Ryoshi.
But seeing that she wasn't getting a reaction from him, she burst out laughing as she left his room. 'Did she just give me her number?' Ryoshi thought to himself in shock. "Fuck."
Ten or so minutes after Rumi had left, Inko and Izuku both arrived. "Sorry we're a bit late. Our Taxi was held up in traffic." Inko explained but what cut short by Izuku who pointed at his older brother with a light blush on his face.
"Liar!" Izuku exclaimed as she showed Ryoshi his phone. It the photo Rumi had posted of them a few minutes ago.
And Cut!
Now I know some of you might be saying that Phone's aren't allowed in Hospitals. They are in some cases like Recovery Rooms as they don't possess any equipment they'll interfere with.
And as for the winner of the Poll with 8 votes, it was... Clone Wars Era (20-19BBY)! So this will mean that Ryoshi will be brought into the Star Wars Universe during the Clone Wars/Rise of the Empire.
This chapter's Q&A!
1) In regards to the half-skirt, is it like the same one Boba is wearing in the Mandalorian or like one of the ones that the Clone Captains and Commanders like Rex wear? Izuku's half skirt is more similar to the ones that the Clones like Captain/Commander Rex and Commander Bly.
2) How exactly will Muscular's death affect the League of Villains' recruitment during the Training Camp attack in the near future? Massively. But it begs the question with Izuku as well as he won't have OFA as well. You'll have to wait to find out lol.
So that's all for this chapter folks. If you have a question do feel free to post a review or PM myself. If I don't answer your question on next chapter's Q&A I will try to reply via PM. No spoiler question though. they won't be given full answers. But anyway thank you for reading this chapter. I hope you've all enjoyed it. Till next time!
