Megan tossed and turned in her bed, in the end she hadn't got into trouble because she was only fighting to protect herself, but Jazzie had been sent to bed early as a punishment. Megan sighed, she wanted to talk to her dad, he had been talking with her aunts and uncle for ages, and now she wanted a turn to talk to him. It was confusing as to why Jazzie would do that, temper or not. She quietly crept out of bed, and walked down the stairs. Every floorboard in the house never squeaked, almost like it had been super-reinforced. She heard the voices of her dad and Blues in the living room.

"The robot ban has only been lifted for about a month, how did you get Rush back so quickly?"

"I managed to get him back ages ago. He was so covered in dust it made me wonder if they ever cleaned that warehouse."

"Does he still have all his functions?"

"Yep, but I disabled most of them. I don't want Megan to suspect too much." Megan stopped moving towards the living room, what didn't her dad want her to know?

"Yeah the last thing that I would want Jazzie to think was something was looking for her. Although I wish I knew what caused that outburst earlier."

"Family rivalry?"

"That's what I was hoping it wasn't"
"Proto, calm down. Jazzie is her own person, she isn't affected by what you did." Megan was silent, Proto? Was that a nickname her dad had for Blues?

"Alright, let's go back to the whole robot ban thing. I'm a little worried that there just might be another Wily now."

Who's Wily? Megan thought.

"I wouldn't think so, everybody knows just how bad the Wily Wars were, I don't think somebody would try again."

"And if they did, where would Mega Man be?" Megan heard her dad chuckle.

"I don't think so, Proto."

"Seriously, Rock, where would he be?"

"I don't know." Megan quietly ran back up to her room, she had heard enough. Why did dad call Blues Proto? Who was Wily and why hadn't she heard about these 'Wily Wars'? And who was Mega Man? What did he have to do with her dad? Megan slept restlessly that night.
The next day, the mysterious conversation had partially slipped her mind. Megan got dressed, not wanting to miss breakfast. Her dad was an okay cook, but Roll was amazing. Melody was good too, she could make amazing African cuisine. The smells of both savoury and sweet dishes filled the kitchen as Megan entered. She felt her mouth water, she couldn't wait. All the adults were up, it looked like Roll and Melody were competing for who made what in the kitchen, and Megan's dad was talking with Blues. Blues kept glancing at his watch.

"She's not up yet." he mumbled. Megan climbed into a chair.

"Me?" she asked. Blues chuckled.

"No Jazzie. I'm surprised she isn't up yet, not after the early bedtime." he explained. Megan grinned.

"Want me to wake her up?" she asked. Blues nodded.

"Sure, but do it carefully, she might be feeling a little sore still." he cautioned. Megan nodded and raced up the stairs again. Jazzie's room, while she stayed, was the first door after the stairs. Megan opened it, and saw Jazzie fast asleep. It looked like she had just as much trouble sleeping as Megan. She gently shook her.

"Hey, Jazzie, wake up." she said. Jazzie's went open so quick that Megan wasn't sure what had gotten into her. Nor did she know what had happened in the next couple of seconds. Jazzie had tackled her, sent them both rolling across the floor, and down the stairs. After crashing to the bottom of the stairs, Jazzie stared at Megan with wild eyes.

"Just stop Mega-" she yelled before falling silent. Jazzie slowly got off of Megan. She started breathing quickly.

"What, what," she whispered, her eyes terrified. Megan propped herself up.

"Are you okay Jazzie?" she asked just before the grownups ran into the room. Melody immediately hugged Jazzie, and Blues came beside them.

"Megan!" her own dad exclaimed, picking her up. Megan was always surprised at how much strength he had in an emergency, even minor ones. She didn't this was a 'minor emergency' though. "Are you okay?" Megan's dad asked, making her look up. Megan nodded.

"I think so, but what happened to Jazzie?" she asked. Megan's dad looked at Jazzie.

"I don't know."
