One week had passed since the village was attacked by the demon fox incarnate.

Majority of the village's military was currently recuperating in the medical tents made by the staff in the hospital since the rooms were already filled. Unfortunately, the medics were completely stressed despite having once been acquainted with the village's most advanced medical shinobi, Tsunade. The granddaughter of the village's founder had left the village months ago, grieving over her dead lover after temporarily retiring as a shinobi.

Inside the Hokage's tower, the leaders of the respective clans along with the elders of the village had come together to discuss the future proceedings of the village. Ever since the founding of the village, the village's military and defensive forces had never been as fragile as this moment.

Minato rubbed his forehead to ease the headache, presumably from the lack of sleep since the masked man's attack. He had made a choice that no parent would've ever done for one's own child and even though the beast was finally sealed, the casualties during this incident were truly devastating.

"The medical division is currently doing everything they can to heal the wounded. I've gathered some of my clansmen to aid with the production of necessary herbs and medicines."

Shikaku's words negated some of the tension and stress everyone was suffering for the past days. However, there was one person who wasn't satisfied with the commander's words. His lone eye, glaring at the rest of the shinobi sitting at the table. Glancing at the head of the Uchiha Clan, Danzō decided to bring up his own thoughts into the discussion.

"From what the Black Ops division has informed me, this entire incident was caused by a man possessing a Sharingan and judging his ease of use in taming the fox, one could assess that this man belonged to the Uchiha Clan."

The moment Danzō finished speaking, Fugaku stood up and glared at the man for accusing his clan of treason. His clan had not only been forced into acting rear guards during the entire incident but were now being called out as the mastermind behind this incident by the village authorities.

"That is an extremely dangerous statement, Danzō-sama. Please speak more wisely before bringing up any accusations."

"Am I speaking anything wrong? You can ask Minato if you think my words, are mere lies. I'm sure someone who fought against the enemy would clearly be able to distinguish the truth."

Danzō glanced towards the leader of the village, who had not expected to be the used in Danzō's scheme. Minato may be new to his position in political affairs, he was smart enough to recognize Danzō's train of thought. Unlike the leader of the Foundation, Minato was certain that none of the Uchiha within the village possessed the power required to tame the fox. However, completely ruling out the possibility might not be an option either. After all, he was aware that the Uchiha clan was against him becoming the Hokage.

"The one who attacked the village did wield the Sharingan in his right eye. However, I can assure you that it wasn't an Uchiha from the village. I had set up a barrier which would inform me if any citizen crossed the barrier. I didn't notice anything when he bypassed the barrier I had placed."

Suspicious expressions formed on the faces of the representatives of the clans who listened to Minato's explanation. Regardless of who the attacker was, the casualties occurred in each clan could not be changed. Meanwhile, there was not a single Uchiha who was killed in this incident. This was enough for the other clan heads to harbour feelings of resentment towards the clan possessing the Sharingan, despite knowing they had no fault in this matter.

Despite furious over everyone's expression, Fugaku did not back down to defend his clan. He could only hope that the Hokage would be able to make a proper decision regarding the unfair treatment, though was not completely certain about this since he and the Namikaze had rarely interacted in the past did not really have a good understanding of the man.

"I don't believe that you are seriously considering putting the blame on the Uchiha. The reason Uchiha were stationed away from the conflict was solely due to the instructions given to them from the elders of the village. Accusing them of being the mastermind behind this incident is unbecoming of a Konoha shinobi."

Shikaku stood up and gave his opinion of everyone's reaction. He was well aware of what Danzō was trying to attempt. Ever since Sandaime Hokage's death, Danzō and the other two elders had become more vocal in their dealings of the village. As gifted as Minato may be on the battlefield, he would not be able to handle all three of them in political field considering his inexperience. Not only the three elders lived through many wars but also were greatly respected by every shinobi within the village, Sannin included.

As Shikaku finished speaking, Minato stood up to discuss the most important issue of today's matter. He had no interest in entertaining Danzō's personal vendetta against the Uchiha Clan and decided to get into the primary reason for today's meeting.

"Considering the losses we've suffered to the infrastructure of the village, there will be few alterations in the locations of certain clans and structures. We've taken each clan's needs and requests into consideration and decided to begin the reconstruction starting tomorrow."

Minato then gestured one of the Black Ops agents and motioned him to come forward with the item he had asked him to hold on prior to this meeting. The man walked forward and then unfolded a poster sized paper in front of everyone, revealing the geography of the village's infrastructure. However, the others quickly caught on to the minor changes that had been made, presumably by the village officials.

"The Nara Clan had previously requested to allocate them the forests to grow the medicinal herbs that couldn't be grown until now. So, they'll be relocated to this location where there is abundance of fertile land, allowing them use it as they please."

Shikaku looked at the map, having understood where their new home was going to be and nodded his head in approval. Minato then proceeded to guide the other clans to any further changes made after the destruction caused by the demon fox. He paused for a moment, wondering if this was the right course of action. However, he was aware that if he didn't go through with it, other clans would definitely voice out their objections towards the whole situation.

"Next up, will be Uchiha clan which was destroyed during the attack. The entire clan will be moving to his location, the abundant training grounds should give the clansmen and the police force enough space to train and hone their skills that would prove beneficial to the entire clan."

Fugaku's eyes followed Minato's finger and noticed that the location had been decided for them by the government. It was the outskirts of the village, affecting their influence within the village considerably.

"Hokage-sama, if the police force is pushed towards the outskirts of the city, then we won't be able to function optimally. I would request you to reconsider this decision!"

Minato was about to dissolve the tense atmosphere, but Danzō interrupted him, not wishing to show any favoritism towards any of the clans. Of course, Minato was aware that Danzō's actions were anything but favoritism.

"We have the Black Ops for that. There's no need for the Uchiha Police force to meddle in those affairs."

Knowing there was nothing else he could do to convince the higher deciding body to change their decision, Fugaku sat down while thinking of ways to calm down his own clan who would undoubtedly get furious over this decision. Soon enough, all the necessary discussions were finished as the representative of each, and every clan made their way towards their home.

"You seem to be having trouble…"

A jovial voice spoke up behind him, containing a hint of laughter. He didn't need to turn around to realize to whom that voice belonged. Gradually, the source of the laughter walked until he sat opposite to him, his eyes displaying understanding.

"Things have gotten a bit troublesome. As Hokage, it's my duty to make sure everything goes well."

"You need to take a break sometimes, y'know? Besides, how many days has been since you've been home?"

Despite being only one week since the incident, Minato had only a handful of times to spend time with his family. From what he had heard, Kushina's situation was much severe than he had expected. From what he had heard from the medics, extracting the fox out of her forcefully right after giving birth to three children took a great toll on her body. The frown on Minato's lips deepened when he heard his master's words.

It was true, after all.

"How about this, why don't the two of us go and visit your family? I've been planning to see my godchildren for a while…"

Seeing that nothing could change his master's mind, Minato and Jiraiya decide to visit Kushina and the kids. As the two walk through the village, Jiraiya noticed the damage done to the buildings and saddens knowing he could've done something to prevent it. Among the shinobi of his generation, only less than five had actually survived with his own teammate betraying the village. While Tsunade didn't leave the village like Orochimaru, she still retired from her duties as a shinobi temporarily.

As they reached Minato's house, the door opened to reveal a nurse looking greeting them respectfully. Minato and Jiraiya entered the main bedroom and noticed Kushina looking pale, quite different from what she usually looked.

"Jiraiya-sensei…"

Kushina weakly got up, greeting the familiar man. Jiraiya motioned her to lie down and rest, worried over her health. He glances up towards the head medical ninja, motioning him to tell exactly what had happened to her. He was an elderly medical ninja that had once worked under Tsunade in the previous war and was one of the experience medics within the force.

"A person would die after a tailed beast is extracted from them. However, Kushina-sama possessing powerful vitality and chakra seems to prevent that outcome but left her incredibly weak in doing so. The extraction taking place right after her giving birth only worsens the situation."

Minato looks worriedly at his wife, knowing she looked much weaker when the masked man had extracted the demon fox within her. Although she looked a bit better than before, she still hasn't regained her usual hyperenergetic personality, something that made him ponder on the severity of the situation.

"Don't worry, Hokage-sama. If she takes proper rest for the next couple of days, Kushina-sama would be healthy again. All her energy's been drained and used up to keep her alive, please make sure she doesn't exert herself in any labor."

"Understood. Please keep a good eye on her health and notify me if there are any changes."

The medic nodded, motioning the nurses to get back to their work and make a regular check up on the three infants. Jiaiya noticed three babies wrapped in warm blankets sleeping on a separate bed so they wouldn't wake Kushina up. Knowing her, she probably wouldn't be able to rest until the three kids slept properly.

Sleeping the middle was the eldest of Minato's children, Naruto. Perhaps the boy felt his father's shadow over him, he gradually opened his eyes and looked at the two men curiously. The kid's eyes were bluer than Minato's, seemingly cyan in color and a bit of purple gradience.

"I see you're awake, Naruto."

As Minato called out his son's name, the boy looked up and probably wondered if he was being called by that name. It was disappointing that the two men could not read the minds of an infant as they wondered what the boy was thinking.

Disturbed by the noise, the other two kids woke up as well, wondering who these two strange men were. The girl whined a little after being woken up by someone else as Minato gently picked her up to calm down the little girl. She possessed the same eyes as her mother, the purple eyes Minato always loved.

"Calm down, Airi. I'm your father."

After the girl calmed down, Minato glanced at his youngest child who looked at little uncomfortable but was calm since he was sleeping beside his siblings. Both his youngest son and his daughter had inherited the similar-colored hair and eyes as their mother.

"You seem to be enjoying sleeping beside your siblings, Menma."

The three infants laid on the bed as Minato's gaze becomes gentle and he forgets every terrible thing that had occurred this past week. After Jiraiya and Minato had spent some time with the kids, they head over to the study room explain everything that occurred that night.

"Sounds like he might make another visit to retrieve the fox spirit. Do you know anything about him?"

"I have my suspicions, could it be Madara?"

"You're talking about someone who died decades before I was born but you're not someone who would say such a thing as a mere guess. Did he give any clues to you?"

It was impossible that Madara could've survived this long, he was dead even before the Sannin's birth. Could that man really have lived this long? Jiraiya shook his head, knowing that if it was really Madara then he would've attacked right after the war. Why wait an entire year to attack the village?

"He only said that he would return again. Other than that, I could gain nothing from him."

"Whoever he is, it's certain that this wouldn't be his last attempt in capture to demon fox. We need to make sure that the kids are well guarded at all times."

Minato nodded his head, reminding himself to ask Kakashi's squad to make routine guard duty around the Hokage's residence. However, there were far greater worries running through the Hokage's mind at this moment. Why did Danzō order the Uchiha clan to stay away from the frontlines? Was it because he simply didn't trust them or did the man have a far greater agenda in mind? Whatever it was, Minato did not have any intention of letting Danzō do however he pleased.

"Jiraiya-sensei, there's something I need you to do for me. I know you're busy but it's crucial for me to retrieve this information."

Turning towards his master, Minato's tone of speech immediately made Jiraiya realize that the matter must be something of great significance.

"Could you look into Danzō's recent activities…there's something suspicious going on and I'm unsure of what it is. His actions were always under the radar but ever since Orochimaru's betrayal, he's stepping into the light quite often."

"You're quite suspicious about him, aren't you? I'll see what I can do. However, let me remind you that Danzō is no ordinary man. He would never leave a trail after doing something suspicious."

Even the blond was surprised by his master's words. Granted, Jiraiya never really infiltrated in any of the internal dealings of the village due to his requirement to find out about other nations. However, Jiraiya was one of the best at acquiring intel for the village and the man himself saying that the success of finding anything about Danzō would be quite low, spoke highly of the latter's skills.

Ending their conversation after a few more discussions, both master student bid farewell for the night, each with their own worries and thoughts towards the future. Across the hall, Kushina laid on the bed, resting as she glanced at the moon through the window. As much of a joyous occasion this was, it equally terrified her when the fox spirit was released from her.

It had been extremely had for since she had arrived at this village, struggling to find acceptance and her own identity in this joyful village. She was brought to this village during the war and had found it difficult to make friends since almost everyone considered her an outsider. She had tried to make her own place within the shinobi corps despite the fact that she was a Jinchūriki and had grasping learning things quickly had meant that much of her development had been stunted.

As a result, by the time she had married Minato she had been a Chūnin for nearly nine years. It was infuriating to think that she didn't and likely never would have the skills to merit a promotion to Jonin and the fact that much of the community saw her as nothing more than the lover of Hiruzen's successor made her blood boil. Moreover, she knew that the village's authorities only denied her promotion so that she wouldn't be called out to battle on the frontlines during the war which would risk the chance of the fox spirit entering into the hands of their enemy.

She and the beast had never gotten on, she knew that her predecessor Mito had had something resembling a civil relationship with it, but from day one it had hated her, and she was only too happy to return the feelings that only fueled her anger towards those who saw her nothing more than a Jinchūriki.

But when she glanced at her children, all those feelings frustration and anguish that had bottled up inside her for years immediately vanished. At that moment, she knew that even it meant her life, she would gladly give it away for the three of them.

"Who would've thought that things would turn out this way…"

What followed after wasn't a beautiful memory of a family, but the nightmare that killed thousands. Without making his presence known, a masked man immediately killed the Sandaime's wife along with her assistants while covering Naruto's cloth with explosives that forcer her and her husband to separate, giving the man the opportunity to kidnap her.

The man then proceeded to put her in a powerful genjutsu followed by extracting the demon fox spirit within her. Her already weakened body shivered, wondering what aim the man could possibly have after putting the vicious beast under its control. As the man then commanded the fox to attack her, Minato instantly saved her and teleported her away from the village, where he then placed her adjacent to her children.

She didn't know what had occurred after Minato had left her with their children, he returned sometime later wondering what kind of destruction the man had done. She tightened the hold on her bedsheet when she remembered what he had said to her after he returned.

"To think the fox would continue to haunt me, even after being extracted."

Hundreds of shinobi lost their lives, innocent children were killed under the debris, and it was her negligence towards it that played a major role in this calamity. Now, the beast's vicious chakra has sealed inside Menma and Airi so Naruto's body could've handled the heavy influx of chakra forced into him.

She only hoped that the future wouldn't turn out worse than it already is…

Author Notes:

It's the usual Naruto neglected fanfiction since I've taken a certain liking towards them these past few days. Unlike where his siblings are the Jinchuriki, Naruto will have Kurama as the original series, but his siblings would have a portion of the chakra sealed inside them.

Hiruzen was worried if Naruto's body wouldn't be able to handle all of Kurama's chakra, so he sealed away large portions of chakra into Menma, Airi and himself so the seal that had previously been used for Kushina would successfully be able to hold the fox inside Naruto.

Naruto wouldn't be abused like other fanfics but the treatment towards him would be the same as the Uchiha Clan. No violence or anything since it's really stupid that people would attack or verbally abuse a kid.

Rather than deciding on something like prophecy or training, I've decided to make Minato busy with dealing the internal conflict within the village and Jiraiya would spend most of the time outside the village. In the original series he appeared in front of Naruto around the Chunin exams so in this fanfic he would be appearing before them a little earlier than that.

Kushina losing the thing that made her unique and the ability to continue as a shinobi would stress her mentally since this wasn't how she imagined her family to be, her husband always spending time in the office and her children housing her burden would pressure her immensely. While she would favor Naruto's siblings but the situation would force to focus more on them than just normal favoritism.
