Megan petted Rush as her dad removed the safeguards he had put in him.

"Alright boy, ready to fight robots again?" Megan's dad asked the robo-pooch, closing up a panel. Rush jumped off the table and spun around in crazy circles. Megan laughed.

"I think he is," she said, looking back at her dad. ", but what about me?" Megan's dad seemed a little antsy.

"Blues and Roll are coming over to help with that. I can try to explain it to you though." he said. Megan had a feeling...

"Are you going to try to do the opposite to me what was done to you?" she asked. Her dad gave a brief smile.

"You're just like your mom when it comes to figuring things out, and yes." he agreed. Megan gulped, making sure her dad couldn't see. The idea that her dad had been a robot had sunk in a little more, but the idea that she would be a robot was having a harder time deciding to do the same. The elevator suddenly whizzed open, revealing Roll. Megan gave her a hug.

"Hi, Aunt Roll!" she exclaimed. Roll gave her a hug.

"Hi, Megan. Your dad told me what's going to happen, and what you know." she said, glancing away briefly. Megan gave her another hug.

"I'm okay with it." she said. Roll smiled.

"That's good." she said, then took a glance around the room. "I know Dr. Light said you didn't need to clean it anymore, but did you really have to let it get this dusty?" Roll asked. Megan's dad gave a nervous laugh.

"I still keep your old broom in the closet if you want to clean." he said. Roll laughed. Megan was glad there was at least a little lightheartedness. That feeling faded when the elevator went down again. When it opened, Blues tumbled out, holding his arm. Roll gasped.

"Blues, what happened?" she asked quickly. Megan's dad rolled over the chair, Blues tumbling into it. He winced as Roll looked at his arm.

"Let's just say my shortcut was a bad idea." he said. He shook his head. "There was only one robot, and I feel a little humiliated by getting hurt from it." Megan backed up, deciding to listen.

"Don't tell me, a Met?" Megan's dad asked. Blues groaned.

"Don't, start." he said with a glare. Megan looked at Rush, he was sleeping,

"Hey, Rush, what's a Met?" she whispered. Rush's ears perked up, and glanced around, but he went right back to napping.

Later, Megan watched from the table. She constantly ran her hands along the shiny metal, watching her dad mess with a machine. Blues kept tweaking things, and Roll was making sure the lab was clean. Megan looked around, it made a huge difference. The machine suddenly lit up. Megan took a deep breath, that was the machine that they were going to use on her. At least for the 'robot' part, the 'fighting' part would come later with some modifications from her dad. Her dad suddenly looked at her.

"It's running, are you ready, Megan?" he asked. Megan nodded slowly.

"Yes." Her dad nodded as well.

"Okay, try to stay still. You aren't going to be a robot forever, just remember that, and I think you can handle it." he said. Megan nodded and squeezed her eyes tight.

"I'm ready when you are." she said. She didn't dare open her eyes.

"Okay, it's ready in three, two, one." Megan felt some sort of energy wash over her. It felt so strange and hot. She kept her eyes shut, focusing only on why she was doing this. To save people, to fight for ones who couldn't, for her dad. The feeling finally faded. Megan blinked her eyes open. Her head was just flying with information, half of which she didn't understand. She stared at her hands, they seemed the same, but at the same time they were so different. She tried closing them and opening them again. The movements were a little off. They felt stronger, and more solid. Megan slowly slid off the table, her feet hit the floor with an echoing clang. She tried to take a step forwards, but her feet felt so heavy that she didn't raise them enough and tripped.

"Megan!" her dad exclaimed, helping her up. Megan smiled, she could still feel her dad's touch. She awkwardly steadied herself on her legs. Every step was jarring.

"Just take it easy." Blues suggested after she stumbled a second time. Megan nodded and tried to lift her foot higher, even just a little bit. Slowly, she started walking around the lab.

"You're doing it!" Roll exclaimed. Megan smiled, getting a little more confident. She started walking faster, easing into her new form. She crossed the lab three times. Her dad gave her a big hug.

"You did it, Megan." he exclaimed excitedly. Megan grinned, realizing her face felt the same as ever. Rush nosed her hand. Megan smiled and gave him a pat. For some reason, he felt more normal now. Blues walked over, none of his usual carefree behavior could be seen.

"Get used to your form now, Megan, the real work is going to be happening quickly."
