Being the main humans in a base full of alien robots can be strange. Not in the basics 'holly molly there aliens' type of way. No, they were strange because of how many similarities our species have.
Sure, they were over 12 feet tall and made of metal, but they have emotions. They feel and dream. They love and care for one another just like normal earth families. They may not be flesh and blood like us but they sure weren't just robots.
They have personality flaws that make them, them. Some were easy to notice from the start. Arcee, they all had to agree, had anger issues. She has experienced so much and was left with the shell of who she once was. Though her anger may be a powerful weapon, it's also a double edge sword. Slicing down enemies and forgetting about allies in her rage.
Miko originally brought up Bulkheads problem with being stuck in the past. He would get so wrapped up in a retelling that memories of the past would haunt him. Miko has learned to read his moods and allow him to share when he wishes.
Bee was simple. He wanted his voice. Everyone at base knew about the scout's wish. This may have been the most noticeable but not the worse. Bee was young, at least in cybertronian years. He is in a constant struggle to prove himself so he can be treated like a soldier, not a Mechling.
Miko, Raf, and Jack all agree that Rachet probably had a list longer than most in personality problems and quirks. That doesn't mean they dislike him, it just shows how much this war has affected him. Affected all of them in reality.
Optimus was a hard one. It wasn't the fact he hides his emotions and personality behind a stern face. It was the fact you knew he was bringing the pain upon himself. He took too much blame for events he couldn't control. He was guilt-tripping himself for all the wrongdoings and they were building up. They were just worried about when that day would come. Prime needed to let off some of that burden before he could truly focus on surviving in this war. A war that traveled the galaxy to their planet. On a planet with life so fragile in comparison, a simple wrong step would be the end. Life sure wasn't looking good for them and the children knew it.
