"Finally! There we go!" Tamashi exclaimed suddenly scaring Lavania.
"What? What happened?!" Lavania asked as she rushed over to Tamashi's seat. Ever since Leizcio had run off, Tamashi has been visiting daily to help find Leizcio but also to check on Lavania as it'd be no surprise she wouldn't be doing well during these times.
"I managed to get a hold of Leizcio's signal!" She yelled as a blip appeared on the map she was looking at. However, it was gone within seconds as it disappeared off the map, leaving the two disappointed.
"It's probably his electricity... Ran into this problem before when he ran since he makes so much of it. But it can't stay like that forever. We'll find him soon alright?" Tamashi told Lavania as she got up to comfort her.
"Tamashi... Do you think he'll be able to forgive me?" Lavania asked, desperately wanting an answer.
"... I can't tell. What we did was very wrong. While it's okay to be worried for him, you went too far and I shouldn't have been encouraging it. All I know is that it's up to him. We can't expect him to forgive easily, it's something that'll take time. One step at a time Lavania." Tamashi told her while hugging her. The two held to each other hoping that wherever he was, he'd come back to them.
"Blink! My bags are almost full!" Leizcio told Blink as he finished up picking up one more piece of trash from the ground. Blink had taken Leizcio and Spectro to a park to clean nearby.
"Y'know kid, I thought you would've been complaining about this at the least!" Blink said as he had grabbed a piece of trash as well.
Spectro pulled up in a truck as Leizcio dumped his bag into the back of it. The park was already beginning to look pristine as Blink and Leizcio used their quirks to clean up the place.
"No, this is quite the simple stuff really. But we are going to train soon right?" Leizcio asked as he started to check the park for any other litter lying about. Blink threw in the bag he had as Spectro went off shortly after.
"Slow it down kid, we just finished cleaning!" Blink said as he started to stretch. Leizcio just sighed with impatience hoping to get something in. As the two started to head back over to the agency, Leizcio would feel his body sting at times from the lingering damage he got from last night's patrol.
Heading back into the agency, Spectro was relaxing on the couch looking at some papers that were most likely for the agency.
"Really? Lazing around?" Blink asked as he took off the goggles from his face.
"Oh come on! You guys practically did everything!" Spectro said as he got up from the couch pointing at Blink.
"We cleaned the park, you get to clean the agency!" Blink retorted pointing back at Spectro. Spectro grumbled off as he went to go get cleaning supplies. Leizcio is wondering internally whether this internship was worth it.
"Okay kid, how about we go and start some sparring?" Blink offered as he started to walk down the hall. Leizcio immediately perked up and quickly followed suit.
"Wait hold on, we should probably change out of our hero suits... Meet me back down here in five with training clothes!" Blink told Leizcio as he went to his room. Leizcio nodded and quickly went into his room.
Changing into his clothes, he notices a scar on his shoulder that hadn't healed completely. He rummages through his backpack to try and find bandages but to no avail. He sighs as he just throws on his shirt hoping that Blink doesn't make a big deal out of it. He heads back downstairs and enters the training room.
"You ready for a fight?" Blink said cracking his knuckles.
"Yeah. But how are we going about this?" Leizcio asked as he got into stance.
"By using our quirks! You might be fast, but you have to be ready to fight someone who can go as fast as you!"
"Alright then, I'm ready when you are." Leizcio said as he finished putting on his boxing gloves.
Soon as Leizcio finished his sentence, he could see a fist about to approach him. He feels the wind from the punch graze by him and tries throwing a punch of his own, only to be quickly shut down by Blink.
'If his quirk is powered by his lungs, maybe I can punch him out of it.' Leizcio thought to himself barely dodging another attack from Blink. Even if he can't win the fight, he can try to wait it out until Blink runs out of air.
Punch after punch, Leizcio hasn't been able to land a single hit on Blink. He wishes he could say the same for Blink but he's managed to hit Leizcio a few times. Didn't take much after for Blink to knock Leizcio down to the ground.
"Sorry kid, you good?" He asked offering his hand to Leizcio. Leizcio took his hand and got back up on his feet.
"Yeah... Just need a moment." Leizcio says clutching his ribs. The past few patrols didn't make those hits feel any softer.
"Now. How was I able to beat you?" Blink asks as he sat down and gave a bottle of water to Leizcio for him to drink.
"Because you were able to move faster than me?"
"Nope! I actually went a bit slower than you did! The key to being able to fight is that you can somewhat predict what your opponent will do next. No matter how fast your opponent is, if you can sense their next attack, it'll give you an opening."
"I see..." Leizcio says as he takes the information to heart.
"Spectro! You're up next!" Blink calls out as he takes off his boxing gloves. He hands some new boxing gloves to Spectro as he sits down to observe Leizcio's training.
"So kid. Best of three?" Spectro asked as he entered the ring.
"Sure."
The two engaged in combat with Leizcio not using his quirk. Their first match was more so a stalemate. Even without his quirk, Leizcio's reflexes managed to get better, but he still lacked the ability to land a solid punch on Spectro, tending to barely scrape his glove. This continued for five minutes, from which Blink would call for time.
The two sat down on the floor and drank their water, resting before their next match.
"So, kid. How'd your quirk manifest?" Blink asked as he joined the two sitting on the floor.
"Gettting mugged. Almost got shot but then everything slowed down and it just kinda happened from there." Leizcio said as he took another sip of his water. He looked to the other two who were looking at him in confusion and concern.
"You're telling me you were getting mugged when you were four?" Spectra worriedly asked.
"Oh. Uh... Should've specified that part. I only manifested it recently. It's been a few months since I've had my quirk." Leizcio explained, making the two pro heroes slightly less worried.
"Ah I remember when I found out I got my quirk. I was making a sandcastle and I was trying to put down the sand but it wouldn't come out of the bucket. Turns out I was holding my breath for a bit." Blink recalls.
"Man... I had to deal with wondering why everything looked like blobs to me when I got my quirk! Turns out when my quirk manifested the first spectrum I could see through was thermal. Yeesh, that was a scary time." Spectro shuddered remembering that.
"Well. Kid, you ready for the next match?" Spectro asks as he got up from the floor. Leizcio nodded and put down his water bottle and got his boxing gloves on.
Their next match had also turned to be a stalemate, but Leizcio was starting to catch onto what Blink had told him, managing to punch Spectro a few times. While Leizcio did continue to dodge, he began to start parrying some of Spectro's attacks to use as openings.
"gasp Not gasp bad kid..." Spectro panted as he got tired from their third sparring match even though it was a stalemate again. Leizcio had also started to feel a bit tired, weighing in the training today as well as his patrol from last night.
"Alright kid you did well today. Hit the showers and call it a night. We'll continue tomorrow!" Blink says as he walks away.
Leizcio grabs a towel and dries off his sweat and began to head into the showers. As he showered, he took a look at the scars he had. The one near his lower chest from getting impaled. His chest hurt just from the memory. Getting out of the shower, he clears off some of the steam on the mirror and takes a look at the electrical scarring on his back. Also another reminder of what happened against the nomu. Sure it was small, but its mere presence was a huge reminder that Leizcio was just lucky to get out of that alive.
'Just got to get faster...' Leizcio thought to himself as he went back into his room. He takes his vigilante costume out once again.
'I can't stand around, I need to get better.'
He told himself, getting ready yet again, to be the Blur that he thinks people need.
