Well before a possible fight broke out, and it possibly getting destroyed in the crossfire, you wanted to check it out.

You directed Airdramon to quietly and stealthily take you down. 'If I can take it with me, I can analyze the data to see about setting up naturally reproducing spots of them in my kingdom, that way all digimon will have an easier time accessing food.' you thought to yourself.

Airdramon lowered in down below the tree lines and let you off. And you made your way over to the vending machine. It looked just the same as you remembered. Though, the contents were different now, wrappers and such of snacks that had changed over the last few years being present instead of old ones.

Good, that meant they naturally kept up to date. An interested prospect. Could you per chance edit the coding that made these up, to create other items directly from the human world? like, could you make a digital copy of your own home?

"Hmm." you hummed, and began looking it over. You reached out, to press one of the buttons to get a chocolate bar out of it, when an odd clicking noise came from the machine. And to your surprise, the front of it opened up, clicking open like a door and swinging open.

"W-who's there?" a high pitched voice asked, voice full of fear. Peering out of the space within the vending machine, was a large, teary eyed Numemon. It was big enough that it looked quite squished within the vending machine.

This was a Gigantic Numemon, not just a normal one. Huh, it must be quite old or lived in an area area at one point to have absorbed enough filth reach this stage.

'The heck is a Numemon doing here?' you wondered. They generally tended to prefer dark, and damp areas. They were a species that grew stronger from ingesting filth passively with their slime-like bodies.

They were a horribly weak species for champions, granted this one was a higher tier than the average one, but generally even weaker than Bakemon in general. But they made up for it with their usefulness in cities. Numemon as a species were immune to disease, and passively absorbed and purified filth, converting it into tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny amounts of strength. It added up decently over long periods of time, especially in large populations. On top of that, they could digivolve into tons of digimon should they meet specific requirements.

You made it a point to recruit many of them back in the day for Floatia. They kept the sewage systems clean, taking care of any possible pollution and such, and kept the city healthy.

'A human?" it blinked its teary eyes and shook when it saw you, "...Are you the digimon Emperor?" it asked, fearfully in a soft voice.

You closed your eyes and exhaled a deep sigh of annoyance, before opening your eyes again and looking at the Numemon, "Please do not compare me to that mongrel of a pretender," you asked, though it was more of a command and the Numemon yelped back a bit...well as little as it could with how much it filled up the insides of that vending machine, "My name is Artus, the one the first, and one true king of the digital world, any others are just mere pretenders."

"..So you're not the Digimon Emperor that enslaves all the digimon to work for him and tortures us all for amusement?'" Numemon asked, relief shining in its eyes, and completely not registering what else you said.

You sighed again, "No, I am not," you refrained from losing your temper over such a small matter, no matter how insulting. Still, just from that sentence alone, what a nauseating tidbit to learn. The fool was torturing the digimon? And you didn't think your opinion of that piece of mongrel trash could lower any further. "Tell me, what is a Numemon doing here?"

Numemon blinked its massive eyes at you, "..Ah, I made friends with the Tyrannomon who live here," it replied, "I used to live in Machinedramon's city, but all my friends were killed by it when we tried to help digidestined girl, Kari, I was the only one who lived. I came here as a refugee with the Tyrannomon who's home was destroyed by the machine digimon army, and we lived here ever since. But then one day, the Digimon Emperor came, riding in on an Airdramon with a bunch of others one and those nasty dark rings." the massive green slime digimon shivered in horror at the thought.

You pursed your lips. Numemon, at least the ones you were familiar with, grouped up in massive communities together, easily numbering in the hundreds. Because of their weakness, it was safer for them to group up in massive quantities.

If its old group was anything like that, and one for a city no less, that group of Numemon killed by the Dark Master Machinedramon, probably numbered in the multiple of hundreds.

You withheld a sigh. What a waste. As always, it seemed any Machinedramon but the one you raised personally turned out to be a disappointment and waste of existence. Truly, pitiful.

"I grew really big without my old group you see? So, I hid in here, because if I try to escape, I'll be saw easily and probably get killed by my enslaved friends," Numemon's lips wobbled, "I heard bad rumours about the Digimon Emperor when he seen a Numemon the first time, I heard he had it deleted because he found it disgusting, I'm not even worthy enough to get enslaved by him, i'll just get killed! If only I wasn't a Numemon, I could get strong enough to save them myself and destroy those towers and rings!" it fretted, eyes glistening with tears of terror and despair.

What a sad sight. You reached out and pet the massive slimy digimon on the head, "Don't give up and fall into despair so easily," you told it, "The king is generous, if you lack the power to save your friends, I will give it to you, as long as you become my subordinate, I will need digimon such as you to rebuild my kingdom."

Numemon stopped crying at your words and the gentle touch on its head, between its slug like eyes, "..King?..You did say something like that first didn't you?" it mused, "..I don't understand? How can a human be the first king of the digital world?"

You shrugged, "A long time ago, before the digidestined were chosen to save this world from those plebian Dark Masters, I was chosen to save the digital world," you explained, "I saved the digital world over three thousand years ago in the digital world itself, and the digimon of that time, named me the first king, the one who ruled Floatia, the floating kingdom."

Numemon's eyes widened, "Floatia..from the bed time stories? We used to get those stories read to us every night back at Primary Village," it remembered, wistfully. Its eyes looked at you in shock a moment later, "Those stories...they were true all along, not just bedtime stories? The golden age of the digital world, of a thousands years of peace and prosperity, thanks to the two immensely powerful digimon that ruled it."

"My partners, ruling in my stead," you confirmed with a nod, filing a bit of that information away. A thousand years of peace and prosperity huh? Looked like they did good without you for a good long while. Pride filled your chest, you had raised them well if even the hothead Chaosdramon could be one of the two figures that could keep something like that going. You called your partners digi-egg from your digivice and held it up to Numemon's eyes, "They were killed a long time ago in this world, and I am working to bring them back, and rebuild my kingdom and usher in a new age of peace."

Gigantic Numemon looked at you in awe, "...But why would you want someone as useless as me?" it wondered, eyes going downcast.

You huffed, "Do not doubt my words, every digimon has their own use, and the king see's the worth in the Numemon species as a whole," you refuted strongly, getting a yelp of shock from Numemon, "But as I said, if you do not want to be a Numemon any longer, and seek further strength, then I, the king will provide you, my subject with all you need, if you agree." you declared grandly, drawing your arm back and spreading them wide.

Numemon gasped, and looked at you with eyes full of wonder and awe, "...Ack, you're so bright, I can barely look at you, it's like staring at the sun," it gasped. It took a moment to recover before pulling itself out of the, "Please take me as your subject and make me stronger, my king!" it wobbled out and threw itself into a heap before your feet, almost like a dog bowing to its master.

"Very well," you nodded regally. You lifted your digivice, calling out a specific item from your storage, a torn looking white sheet. It would look like little more than a ruined bed sheet, if it weren't for the dark sparkles that sprinkled across its form, "Now, I order, as the King, to digivolve." you lifted the Torn Tatter into the air facing the huge Numemon and aimed your digivice behind it as the screen began to light up with power.

You could have chosen a much stronger digivolution item. But you were curious. there were certain digimon, that when they attained of a certain power source, that gained a pseudo digivolution into a stronger form. Numemon into Gigantic Numemon was one. Bakemon into Lord Bakemon after absorbing enough life force was another.

You were curious. Would the pseudo digivolution carry over in this case alongside the full digivolution? You hadn't had the chance to try this before.

"Gigantic Numemon digivolve to...!" Gigantic Numemon started glowing as soon as the light spread through the digivolution item. The giant slime digimon's form grew even larger, and started floating in the air as it morphed before your eyes, and when it died down after a few moments, a massive Bakemon floated in front of you, "Lord Bakemon!"

Your eyes lit up with excitement. How very interesting. Pseudo evolutions like this could carry on. Did that mean, there was a way you could have taken Metal Seadramon to even further heights? How would the viral factor effect a digimon like this that had already become a pseudo digivolution?

Many at first thought the Viral Factor you created, was little more than giving a power boost and applying the virus type to a digimon back when you first created it. But while that was true, it far underestimated just how powerful it really was.

The Viral Factor, as you called it, was something your Metal Greymon initially gained through a mutation in his data. It didn't just make him a virus version of himself and give him a power boost. It optimized all of his combat abilities, drew them to their utmost limit. It allowed your Metal Greymon to fight and defeat Analog's first Machinedramon the first time you encountered him, despite the fact your Metal Greymon should have been an entire level below in strength. When things got hectic, and Analog started mass producing Machinedramon, you realised, the power such a thing could grant.

And studied its coding, improving it as far as you could. It took a lot of effort, but you ended up optimizing the mutation's data itself. To the point where, in some cases, some digimon could gain pseudo digivolutions themselves, or have their powers raised to their current limit and trigger a full digivolution.

There was more potential in the pseudo digivolution, since they stayed at the same level and gained just as good a boost as normal digivolution in most ways. But regardless, it was amazing in of itself even with the fact it could trigger just normal digivolution as well.

"Oh my...I feel amazing," Lord Bakemon uttered in awe, overlooking its form. It rose twin massive blue fists into the air and clenched and unclenched them, "Is this, really me?"

"Yes, but we're not done yet," you smirked, "You want to save your friends right? You'll need more strength than this if you want to accomplish what you want."

No doubt it had grown massively in power. But a Gigantic Numemon while much stronger than a Numemon, wasn't that much to write home about. And neither was a Lord Bakemon, individually, they just shed their species limitations and became actual worthy of being champions. With both together, with a digivolution between them, they may just classify as a lower level ultimate in power.

That was not enough to deal with all those digimon. And while you could just send out your own subordinates to do it, Ogremon could probably thrash them all without too much trouble. This particular digimon was really lacking in self confidence.

Without confidence, you couldn't achieve anything of worth. It was the backbone of true progress. If you were always second guessing yourself and not believing you could do it, you would never have become king in the first place.

"We're not..?" Lord Bakemon question, looking at you in shock.

"No we're not, now hold still for a moment won't you?" you replied. In a moment, you pulled out the High Coding keyboard, drawing a curious look of surprise from Lord Bakemon.

It floated and hung over your shoulder, "What is this?" it wondered.

"The language of the king." you replied simply. The viral factor was simple to bring out. simply because, you had it already stored within your digivice for a day i which you may want to use it. Airdramon was not an option for a long while because you did not want to lose those portals, and Wizardmon hadn't even broached the subject of digivolving until earlier.

"You're so amazing! I can't even understand a lick of this!" Lord Bakemon giggled happily. If you were a lesser person, and not the one true king, you may have been disconcerted with a giant ghost with giant clawed blue hands and maw of razor sharp crocodilian teeth giggling behind you.

You were not a lesser person though. This wasn't even worth acknowledging, when at a younger age you had ridden the head of an over five hundred feet long sea serpent with a near indestructible body that was capable of laying waste to cities with ease.

...You almost sighed at the nostalgic memories. 'Those were the days.' you mourned.

In just a few more moments of typing away, you loaded the Viral Factor from your digivice, and a cloud of sparkling black and purple data formed like a small dust tornado in front of you.

"Oooh, so pretty!" Lord Bakemon gasped, hovering around you to get a close up look at it.

"Yes it is, power is very good looking isn't it?" you agreed. Truly, it should be a crime that the king was incompatible with the power he created. But, the might of the kings mind would not mope about such a thing. Through sheer hard work and effort, you were already at a strength of body that would allow you to compete in a battle against the average champion level digimon.

With enough time, being incompatible with the power would not matter.

"Rejoice, subject, your king has delivered." you declared a moment later.

"Huh?" Lord Bakemon looked at you in confusion, just as you finished up what you were doing and hit the final key. The giant ghost digimon gasped as the Viral Factor data tornado surged towards it and merged with its body. "..Oh my." Lord Bakemon gasped in wonder as its form glowed with a black light that seemed to suck in all lift.

The dark light blotted out the ghosts massive form, and then it began to change, "Lord Bakemon digivolve to...!" you heard Bakemon's voice. It changed pitch as it spoke, becoming softer, feminine, and before your eyes, the giant cloth like body in front of you began to compress inwards, becoming humanoid in shape, and then after a moment, the dark light burst apart, "Lady Devimon!"

"..Hoh?" you hummed, eyebrows rising in interest. Standing before you, was a tall, bodacious female. Curvaceous almost beyond compare, huge, round watermelon sized breasts, thick grabbable hips and full, mouth watering thighs and legs. Light, almost white skin that almost reflected the sunlight above with a glossy sheen, full, plump lips, glowing red eyes that shimmered like ruby gems, and long beautiful silver hair.

Well now, wasn't this an interesting turn. A female bodied digimon. Back when you first entered the digimon world, the only species that had a body like a female human, was Lilymon, you knew of Angewomon of course now, but you were pleasantly surprised by this turn of events.

You were quite fond of the Lilymon species. You once had one as a subordinate. She was a Tanemon in the beginning that you trained personally for a time and raised up from Togemon to Lilymon. She was the head worker in charge of growing meat and vegetables in Floatia, and so very hungry for your attention at times. She was great at providing stress relief, always happy to give you a massage, and when you first began feeling the stirring in your loins, all too happy to allow you to explore her body with your ands, and you even learned to kiss through practicing with her as a boy.

Ah, the follies of youth. You wondered idly, what ever happened to her. You hope, that when Floatia was destroyed, she managed to escape and live a happy life. Lilymon as a species had the ability to absorb nutrients from the ground, water and sun, and extend their life span through it, so no doubt she lived a long life.

'Is she a counter species to Angewomon? Like Devimon is to Angemon?' you wondered, since Angewomon was obviously a stronger, primarily female counterpart species of Angemon.

You would have to analyze her data later.

"..I...I'm a Lady Devimon?" the newly digivolved Lady Devimon stated, as if she couldn't believe it, she lifted her arms looking herself over, and even grabbed and fondled her own bodacious breasts in awe, before turning to you, tears appearing in the corner of her eyes. She dropped to her knees in front of you, bowing deeply, "My king, thank you so much! I can never repay what you've done for me!"

You reached out and placed a hand atop your newly digivolved subjects head, stroking her lovely hair, "There is no need for repayment, the king only expects that you work and serve diligently, do so, and you will always have my trust," you told her. You slid your hand down her head and placed a finger under her chin, tipping it up and making her look up into your eyes, "Now stand up. You are an ultimate level digimon now by all reckoning, you should have the strength to save your friends all by yourself now."

Lady Devimon nodded vigorously at your words, "Yes my king!" she agreed, and stood up to her full height, her curvaceous body stretching out the leather, sinfully tight leotard she was wearing and stepped forward, "Allow me to test out the power you have generously gifted to me, Darkness Wave!"

As she declared the name of her attack, Lady Devimon thrust her arms forward, a massive dark sphere of energy forming around her body, before breaking apart into a mass of dark energy bats, hundreds of them at the very least, that zipped through the air faster than bullets. They spread over the flat earth of the Dino Region and made a beeline for each of digimon within the area.

Interesting, that attack was just like that of a Myotismon's. And you knew from experience that one of the default digivolutions of a Devimon, was Myotismon, and that Bakemon could reach that form as well in some cases.

There was a mass of roars, and the earth shook as the group of dinosaur champion level digimon tried to fight back. Craters were formed, massive gouts of flame were fired, but in mere minutes, every single one of the dinosaur digimon were subdued and the dark rings, destroyed.

Yes, the strength of the Viral Factor could not be underestimated at all. Before triggering digivolution in any form that gave overall boosts, it first drew out as much power in a digimon as possible.

Honestly, the only problem with the Viral Factor at all, was that some digimon were just flat out incapable of it taking effect of them. You never found the answer as to why back then, you just didn't have the time. Perhaps once you were done routing that foolish mongrel of a pretender you would research it a bit more, especially with how many more digimon there were these days, so many more references to draw from and test.

Anyway, again, shameless Pa-atreon plug. I've got one, go by the same username on there, easy to find and all that jazz. Support me if you want, it'd be swell, but don't feel pressured lads and ladies, I'll be uploading my stuff outside it regardless and not keeping it all behind a paywall or anything like that.
