When Eddie and Christopher suggested spending the new year on the East Coast for once, Buck quickly agreed, excited to spend and enjoy the holiday with his boyfriend and their son. "So we're not going to Times Square?" he double checked as they landed.
"Absolutely not. I refuse to step foot near that hellscape this time of year," Eddie responded. He kissed Buck and then the three of them went to get their luggage. "It'll be nice to be three hours ahead of our friends back home this year, though."
"Last year, we went to bed at nine after watching the ball drop," Christopher reminded him.
"It was fun," Buck agreed. He laughed when Eddie shot them both a glare. To settle him a bit, he leaned over and kissed him once more.
"Kissing doesn't always work to get you out of trouble but I'll allow it this time," a smiling Eddie grumbled.
"You're gross," Christopher sing-songed. He wasn't a fan of their PDA, as much as he adored them both.
The three of them checked into their hotel, got settled in, and then went out to eat. When they headed back to their hotel, Christopher fell asleep immediately. "Guess the plane ride wore him out." Eddie smiled and tucked him in.
Buck pulled Eddie into his arms and gave him another quick kiss. "Love you."
"Love you too."
The next two days passed by rather quickly, and New Year's arrived faster than they expected. They avoided all the tourists by staying in the hotel and ordering room service. Christopher fell asleep about an hour beforehand but Eddie and Buck shook him awake about ten minutes before midnight.
When the ball dropped, Christopher cheered while Eddie and Buck celebrated by making out. "I love West Coast New Year's celebrations but the East Coast has its perks." Buck definitely wasn't opposed to doing this again.
"A lot of perks," Eddie agreed.
"I'm going back to bed." Christopher yawned and then fell right back asleep. Both his fathers started laughing but quieted down and fell asleep rather quickly themselves.
"It's snowing," Eddie whispered when they woke up in the morning to a blanket of snow covering the ground.
"Yeah, we're definitely doing this again." Buck wrapped his arms around Eddie's shoulders and leaned his head against him.
"Hell yeah we are." Eddie grinned at him, and then the three of them trekked outside to go eat out again and play in the snow.
It was the best New Year's the three of them had had in a long time, and they absolutely couldn't wait to celebrate more together. They made it a tradition to visit the East Coast for all New Year's Eves afterwards but didn't necessarily celebrate in New York, wanting to change it up a bit.
