"More on Hosu at 11. Now we're here today to talk about the death of a vigilante who was quiet in the shadows but made a name for themselves. Faster than the eye could see, Blur was a vigilante who protected the city at night."
Lei watched a recent news report as he was doing the homework that Tsuyu gave him yesterday. As much as he wanted to turn off the news, he couldn't help but listen to it so he continued writing away.
"You might've seen their acts before or even been saved by them. But one thing is certain, nobody has ever seen their face. He left only the red blur as he ran from place to place."
The reporter finished, letting their partner pick up where they left off.
"From the takedown of Osore to the general lowering of crime rates in the city the blur worked in, it had some people wondering, are pro heroes doing all they can to protect the people if a vigilante has to pick up their slack?" The partner rhetorically asked as the reporter became somewhat nervous at the statement they said.
"Haha okay! Well, we have a special guest today! It turns out that the blur themselves used their prototype suits. Everyone, here's the number 25 hero, Beatdown!" The reporter said as the screen split and Mashito shared it.
Leizcio clenched his fist, his anger beginning to overwhelm him.
"It's an honor to have you on our show Beatdown! Now, can you tell us about the prototype suit!"
"Of course. It was when the support company that sponsors me was offering to make me a new suit and had given me a prototype to try out. Unfortunately, it was stolen and used to commit crimes."
"What sort of crimes sir? Yes whoever the blur was might've stolen it, but they continued to do good with it."
"Are you saying that you support vigilantism?" Mashito quickly refuted.
"No... but I'm surprised that the blur has done more for his community than the pros around it."
"A true pity is what that is. It's also another reason why I'm here. I have been given the proposition to have sidekicks begin to patrol the area. I hope to help resolve that doubt you have in your mind sir."
"Sure... Anyways, it's unfortunate however, the blur has reportedly been killed a few days ago and the only things left of them were the armor they had. Do you have any comments on it?"
Mashito quickly responded with no hesitation. He looked directly into the camera, directing his message to someone.
"It's sad what happened to the blur, they might've done great things, but in the end, they only got themselves killed. So let this be a message to those who are thinking of doing the same thing this 'blur' did. Doing this will only make you like them in the end. Leave this to the pros instead."
Leizcio shut off his laptop immediately and slammed his fist onto his table. His breathing started to get heavy as he could feel the rage boil inside of him. But he was powerless to do anything else.
"Leizcio! Is everything okay?" Lavania asked through the door, hearing slamming from Leizcio's room.
A few moments passed in silence as Leizcio was still dwelling in his anger. Wheeling over to his door, he was next to it to tell Lavania,
"Yeah I'm fine."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah..."
Lavania knew he was lying, but she knew that he wouldn't be open, not right now at least.
"Okay... Well, let me know if you need anything."
Lavania waited for a second to see if he would say anything but there was nothing. She walked back downstairs and immediately saw the reason why Leizcio was mad.
There on a screen was still the continuing interview with Mashito over the blur and their death. As much as she wanted to act on the urge to shut off the tv completely, she saw that there were people absorbed at what they were watching. Hard to ignore a vigilante who made their presence stronger than pros in a community.
"Goddamnit, he always knew how to pull the right strings in interviews." Hisako commented with annoyance as she watched as well.
Before Lavania could say something, the two heard a ribbit from the entrance. It was Tsuyu yet again.
"Hi Hisako. Is Leizcio here? I got his homework and notes from today." Tsuyu asked as she glanced over to the tv.
"Actually, he's a bit busy right now, but I'll bring those to him." Lavania said. Tsuyu instead handed her the papers she had.
"Asui was it?" Lavania asked, to which Tsuyu nodded.
"Thank you for doing this and being Leizcio's classmate. He... Hasn't been doing so well since internships but he's getting better and it's thanks to the friends he has in your class. Thank you for doing this."
"It's no problem, just glad to help ribbit!"
"Actually, Hisako, why don't you get her something meanwhile?" Lavania said as she started heading upstairs to which Hisako nodded.
Once Lavania got upstairs, she knocked on Leizcio's door.
"Hey Leizcio, can I come in?"
"Yeah..." Leizcio said after a few seconds went by.
Lavania opened the door and went inside. Next to Leizcio, his table had a clear marking from where he ended up smashing it with his fist. There were small drops of blood dripping from his hand. Lavania let out a small gasp as she grabbed some tissues. She took his hand and cleaned it.
"There. Does it hurt?" Lavania asked as she took out a splinter from his hand which he winced in pain from.
"No, I'm fine now..."
"Okay. Well, Asui came back and dropped off the notes and homework so here you go." Lavania said as she put it on the table, also grabbing yet another napkin to clean the blood drops that were on it.
"Thanks." Leizcio said in a monotone voice.
"Of course, let me know if you need anything, okay Leizcio?" Lavania said, with Leizcio only nodding in response. Beginning to walk out of his room, she feels a slight hesitation but acts on it either way.
"Leizcio can we ta-"
"Lavania please, we really don't have anything else to talk about..." A sign of irritation from Leizcio began to show as he turned away.
"You might see it that way, but I still need to tell you something. So please, just let me tell you something."
Leizcio wanted to shut her down, but before he could speak his mind, he thinks back to when Hisako told him how he was running away from his problems. He even admitted to doing that. For a moment, he swallows his pride.
"What did you want to tell me?" His grudge was put away to the side to listen to his sister. She sat on the bed across from him as she got herself mentally ready.
"I know I've said this before Leizcio, but I'm sorry for what I did. I worried for you but I went too far. I didn't want to lose you like we did with mom. I know I tried pushing you away from what you wanted to be and I'm sorry for it..."
Leizcio was starting to get lost in what she was saying as it felt like a repeat of what she said the other times she's confronted him, but he still tries to take in Hisako's words and continues to listen.
"That power of yours... It was given to you for a reason." Lavania's voice now had more strength in it.
"You get to make your own life, not me. Whatever you plan to do with your quirk Leizcio, I'll always be by your side from now on. You're going to be great and make mom proud." Tears in her eyes started to well, she was finally moving away from the way she acted before. Leizcio felt his eyes trying to resist tears.
"I forgive you for what you did, what I did made you feel like that. You don't have to forgive me though, it's okay." Lavania said as she knelt down and hugged Leizcio as tears flowed down her eyes. Leizcio decided to let go and let his tears fall as well as he returned the hug. He didn't think it'd happen, but he heard what he wanted- no, needed to be told.
"Thank you..." Leizcio softly said as he continued to cry, embracing Lavania.
He might not be ready to forgive her yet.
But even he missed how things were before everything went downhill.
Things won't be back to normal for a while for the two but even then...
This is truly what they needed.
