A/N I should probably just shut up. After all, my plea a couple chapters ago did bring three wonderful reviews which I greatly appreciated. But now there have been no reviews for the last two chapters. I will keep going but I have to admit it seems like interest in this story has been waning.

These characters belong to Paramount, I am just borrowing them.

Two days after the celebration, Archer sat on the Bridge. The previous day had been largely a waste with everyone recovering. With seemingly everything back in order, he decided it was time. This figured to be one of the most important days of his life. There was also the matter of the additional information that the War Committee had included with the approval of the agreement.

Managing to hide his excitement he turned to Malcolm, "Malcolm, you have the Com." As he rose, he called out, Captain, will you join me in my Ready Room?"

When they were both seated, Archer spoke, "Now that the war is officially over, there is something that needs to be addressed." To her surprise, he rose and moved around to stand in front of her.

"It is time for me to fulfill a promise that I made to you when the war first started." T'Pol felt her heart beating faster as he knelt on one knee before her. He reached out and took her hands, "T'Pol of Vulcan, will you marry me?"

T'Pol felt the emotions of joy and happiness more than she ever had before. Gathering herself internally, "Since my feelings for you have not changed, but have only grown stronger, it would be illogical to say anything but yes, Jonathan, I will marry you."

Smiling happily, he rose and pulled her up with him. He then put his arms around her and pressed his lips against hers. She quickly responded and thrust her body against his. Finally, they broke apart, both breathing heavily.

He looked into her eyes, "I love you, T'Pol"

She met his eyes, "I love you, Jonathon, I do."

He reluctantly returned to his seat and gestured for her to do the same.

"We need to plan what we want to do but I also need to bring you up to date on what the War Committee has instructed for me to do next."

He then rose again. Speaking in his Admiral voice, "Captain T'Pol, please rise." T'Pol wondered what was going on but stood up.

Archer reached in his drawer and took out a small box and handed it to her. She opened it and was surprised to see five officer bars. She looked inquisitively at him.

He smiled and said, "By the orders of Starfleet Command, I hereby inform you that you have been promoted to the rank of Commodore, effective immediately."

Only her Vulcan training enabled T'Pol to remain stoic, "Thank you, Admiral. I am honored."

"You deserve it, T'Pol, you have been my strength and a major reason we have accomplished what we have."

T'Pol sat back down, still a little stunned.

Archer was going on, "You and I have been ordered to immediately return to Tellar aboard the Charon. We, along with Ambassador Soval, will be working on plans to welcome the Fleet home and also lay the foundations for discussions to continue the Alliance."

T'Pol raised her eyebrows, "It seems someone wants to waste no time on making the Alliance permanent."

"Evidently, President Samuels has convinced the Committee that we should at least look into it. He is afraid if we wait, it will only make it more difficult." He smiled and went on, "I think Soval is also a major player in this."

"He has talked of, what does he call it, a Federation of Planets."

"That's true, but I am not sure how strongly the other members of the Committee would support it."

He sat back. "Now, for something that I am really looking forward to. Since we will both be leaving, Enterprise will need a new Captain."

He smiled at her, "Admiral Gardner has left the choice up to me. I am going to promote Trip."

T'Pol gave her Vulcan smile, "That is most satisfactory."

"He certainly deserves it. I'm just glad Gardner didn't pick someone else."

He leaned forward and smiled broadly, "One of his first duties will be to marry us."

T'Pol smiled to herself. She shared Archer's anticipation of seeing the look on Trip's face.

Then she realized something, "If we are returning on the Charon, what will the Fleet be doing?"

Archer sat back, "That is the only bad news. Under Shran's command, as a last show of force, they will be ordered to proceed to the location of the so-called Neutral Zone and put out warning buoys along our side of the area. They will later be replaced by more sophisticated scanners. When they finish that, they will head for Tellar. Four ships, one from each planet, are on the way to begin patrolling."

He continued, "On the return trip they will move the anti-cloaking devices to the cargo bay of Enterprise to carry out my promise to Melissa."

He smiled and went on, "We will need to have witnesses for the wedding. I have decided to ask Shran to stand up with me. It would have been a difficult decision but since Trip is marrying us…"

Inwardly, T'Pol had to marvel at the thought of it. How amazing it was that these two men had become such great friends. She smiled ruefully as she remembered their first meeting.

She spoke out, "I am sure he will be honored."

"How about you, T'Pol, do you have someone you would like to stand with you?"

It only took a minute for T'Pol to know who she wanted, "I will ask Lieutenant Sato."

Archer smiled broadly, "She'll be thrilled." He hesitated, "We are to leave three days from now. If you would agree, I think we should plan to be married on the Bridge the day we leave. There is a lot to do in the next couple days."

"That sounds logical to me."

"Okay. Let's get Trip up here." He smiled conspiratorially, "Just follow my lead."

T'Pol raised her eyebrows as Archer smiled broadly.

He reached for the communicator on the wall, "Admiral Archer to Commander Tucker."

Trip looked up irritably, he was in the middle of working on one of the manifolds and was covered with grime. He wiped his hands on a rag and answered, "Tucker here."

"I need you to report to my Ready Room immediately."

"Can't it wait, Admiral, I am literally up to my armpits in work."

"Can someone else handle it?"

"I suppose, but…"

"Good, get here as soon as you can."

Tucker was surprised, what could be so important? Shrugging, he turned to crewman Andrews, "Andrews, I need you to finish up here. The Admiral's got a burr under his saddle."

Andrews smiled, "No problem, Sir."

Getting himself cleaned up as best he could, stopping to get a clean uniform from his quarters, he headed for the Bridge. Told to come in, he entered the Ready Room to see T'Pol and Archer waiting for him. Taking a seat, he looked at Archer expectantly, wondering what had been so damn important.

Archer, fighting to remain serious, "About time you got here, Commander."

Before a startled Trip could answer, he went on, "I called you up here because there are some matters I want to discuss with you before I reveal them to the Fleet."

"First, I wish to inform you that T'Pol has been promoted to Commodore."

Trip turned and smiled proudly at her, "Congratulations, T'Pol, that's great!"

"Thank you, Trip."

Archer continued, "Commodore T'Pol and I have been ordered to return to Tellar immediately aboard the Charon."

Trip was shocked, "You're heading home?"

"Yes, in three days."

Before Trip could say more, he went on, "Since T'Pol and I are both leaving, Enterprise will require a new Captain."

Trip was a little hurt. Didn't they trust him to stand in. After all, he had done it before. Hiding that, he said, "I hope it is someone that is known to the crew."

Archer, now struggling to keep a straight face, "Oh, he is well known. That could be a problem."

As Trip pondered that, Archer couldn't hold back any longer. Smiling broadly, "I can't keep this up."

He then rose, "Commander Tucker, Attention!"

Wondering what the hell was going on, Trip jumped to attention.

"Commander Charles Tucker III, pursuant to orders of Starfleet Command, I hereby promote you to the rank of Captain. Your first assignment will be to assume command of the Starship Enterprise."

He handed Trip four officer bars.

Tucker just stared, Captain of Enterprise?

T'Pol spoke up, "Congratulations, Captain."

Still recovering, Trip got out, "Thank you, I never thought…"

Archer held out his hand, "There is no one else that T'Pol and I would want to trust her to."

Trip shook it firmly.

Archer gestured for him to sit down. Sneaking a smile to T'Pol, he continued, "There is one more thing. Just before I called you up here, I asked Commodore T'Pol to marry me and she said yes."

Trip, still recovering, now just looked on in amazement, "You… T'Pol… married…"

Then he jumped up and slapped Archer on the back, "That's wonderful, Jon. It's about time."

Stepping back, he turned to T'Pol and hugged her. Releasing her, "Congratulations." Then he smirked, "You know you're too good for him, don't you?"

T'Pol answered, "Thank you, Trip. You may be right, but I have said yes and Vulcans keep their word, it is too late to back out."

As Trip continued to smile and marvel at all that had happened, Archer went on. "Since you are now Captain of Enterprise, T'Pol and I want you to marry us."

Trip managed to stammer, "I am not sure I…"

"Relax, Trip, it's all in the manual."

Trip smiled, "I would be honored."

"Good. Let's plan for it on the Bridge at 1500 three days from now."

After informing an excited Bridge crew and he and T'Pol had accepted their congratulations, Archer called a meeting of the War Council and brought them all up to date. While Shran and Soval were delighted, Soval in a Vulcan way, about Archer and T'Pol finally deciding to get married, he discovered that the others were not as surprised as he had expected and were supporting as well.

When the announcements were made to the rest of the Fleet, the response was about the same, although some Vulcans wondered how T'Pol could get so involved with a human. In the end they attributed it to her time spent on Enterprise, and how she had long been affected by them.

Actually, the crews were for the most part more concerned with the fact they would soon be headed home. The main exception was a crewman Anthony Lathrop who had to struggle to hide his anger and contempt. He would save that for when he was able to rejoin his Terra Prime compatriots.

After the meeting, Archer had asked Shran to meet him in his Ready Room. After they entered, Shran went to Archer's cabinet and took out a bottle of Andorian Ale. Pouring them each a glass, he raised a toast, "To the Pinkskin and the Vulcan." As they each finished off their glasses, he added, "Seriously, I am so glad for you. Jhamel will be ecstatic." Refreshing their glasses, he smirked, "Perhaps our children will be friends."

Archer smiled. "Perhaps. But mine may have better taste than I do in friends."

Shran pretended to be affronted, then smiled broadly.

Archer then turned serious, "Shran, do you know anything about Human weddings?"

"Not really. Is that the kind of ceremony you are going to have?"

"Yes, we're going to have Trip marry us as a Starfleet Captain."

He went on, "At a human ceremony the groom has someone stand up with him, someone important to him." He looked at Shran, "I would like you to do that for me."

Shran was stunned for a moment and then he said returning Archer's look, "I would be honored."

Archer went on to explain what he would need to do. He then took a box out of a drawer and showed Shran the rings inside. He explained he had obtained them on Vulcan during one of his trips in the hope he would someday have use of them.

After Shran and Archer went to the Ready Room, T'Pol approached Hoshi, "I know this is short notice, but could you come to my quarters tonight at 2000? I have a personal manner I would like to discuss with you."

Hoshi was surprised, but quickly answered, "Of course, Commodore."

When Hoshi entered T'Pol's quarters, she found her in her Vulcan robes, putting away her meditation candles. When they were both seated, T'Pol spoke first, as usual getting right to the point, "I understand at a human wedding the Bride and Groom have someone stand up with them. If you are agreeable, I would ask you to be that person."

"You want me to be your Maid of Honor?"

"I believe that is the designation, yes."

Hoshi smiled broadly, "I would love to. Thank you so much for asking me."

"You are my friend. It is only logical I would choose you."

Hoshi was surprised. She knew they were close in a way, but was thrilled T'Pol felt that way. Then Hoshi the Maid of Honor took over. "What are you going to wear?"

T'Pol looked surprised. "What do you mean? What I normally wear to the Bridge."

Hoshi shook her head, "Are you sure? This is your wedding. You need to do something special. How about your Vulcan robes?"

"I thought of that, but since this is a human wedding, I decided I would not do so. Jonathan and I have discussed having a Vulcan wedding later. I will wear the proper Vulcan attire then."

"All right. But we still need to try to find something different." Suddenly she remembered that she had seen T'Pol in human dresses, like the day they found out they were going after the Augments. "I know you have some human dresses, why don't you wear one of those?" Seeing her hesitate she added, "I know Jon would love to see you in one of them."

T'Pol thought back to when she had worn jeans for him and his reaction. "Perhaps you are right."

Hoshi smiled, "Great, let's see what you have."

When they looked in her closet, Hoshi was stunned to see a stylish black dress. She quickly took it out and held it up, "When did you get this?"

"When I purchased my human clothes, the sales person said that every woman needs a little black dress. It did not seem little to me, but I wanted to follow human customs. I tried it on but it did not seem very functional."

Hoshi held it out, "Here, put it on."

T'Pol looked like she would object but then gave a human shrug. Removing her robes, she put it on.

Hoshi eyes widened. She could hardly believe her eyes. She knew T'Pol was beautiful but in that dress… It fit her like a glove, following her curves. It stopped just above her knees showing her shapely legs. It even had a little cleavage.

T'Pol looked at her, waiting for a comment. She was surprised to see they way Hoshi was looking, "Is something wrong? Does it not fit?"

Hoshi recovered and quickly assured her, "No, it looks great, you look great." She smiled, "You'll knock Jon's socks off when he sees it."

T'Pol did not recognized that idiom, "Do you mean he will be pleased?"

"He will definitely be pleased. You look amazing."

T'Pol still wondered if this was a good idea. But then she remembered how she had felt when Jonathan saw her in the jeans and wanted to have that feeling again. "Very well, I will wear it."

"Great. Do you know what Jon plans to wear?"

"I would assume his uniform."

"Well, that won't work. I doubt if he has any correct civilian clothes. I'll have Travis and the others be sure he wears his dress uniform." She turned to T'Pol, "We need to be sure Jon doesn't see this dress before the wedding."

She then went on, "Where and when are you getting married?"

"On the Bridge three days from now at 1500."

"I assume Trip will be doing the ceremony."

"As the Captain of Enterprise, he is the only logical choice."

Hoshi quickly went on, "No, the Bridge won't work. Everyone should have a chance to be in on this. I know, we will have it in the Mess Hall. We can decorate it a little and have Chef prepare a cake…."

T'Pol was getting nervous, "I am not sure what the Admiral will think of all this, perhaps we should seek his approval."

Hoshi smirked, "You let me worry about the Admiral. Don't worry, he's going to love it."

T'Pol wondered about that but decided that Hoshi was more versed in this type of thing.

At ten o'clock that night Travis and Trip knocked nervously on Archer's quarters. When allowed to enter they were greeted with, "What are you two doing out? What's going on?"

Trip spoke for them, "Can we sit?"

Archer shrugged and sat on his bed as they found seats. Looking at each other, Travis finally said, "Hoshi sent us."

Archer had to smile, "Why didn't she come herself?"

Travis continued, "She thought we should come instead."

Seeing Archer stare at him, he hurried on, "She wanted us to tell you that you need to wear your dress uniform at the wedding."

Archer was surprised and then had to smile, "Okay, what's this all about?"

Trip tried, "Just what we said, Admiral, Hoshi said we needed to get you to agree to wear your dress uniform."

Archer had a feeling something else was going on here, but decided it probably wasn't a bad idea. But then he wondered, "How about T'Pol, is she aware of this?"

Travis quickly answered, "Yes, Sir, in fact Hoshi had just come from T'Pol when she told me to get Trip and come over here."

"Okay. You can tell Hoshi I will be wearing it."

Obviously relieved, both of them rose, Trip saying, "Thanks Admiral. I really didn't want to face Hoshi if you hadn't agreed."

Archer had to laugh. Then he ushered them out, still thinking there was more here than he was seeing.

The next two days were so hectic with everyone getting ready to depart for the neutral zone and Archer working with Shran on transferring command that Archer never found the time to discuss what had happened with T'Pol.

On the day of the Wedding he dressed in his dress blues and decided to stop at the Mess Hall for a cup of coffee. As soon as he left his quarters though, he found Trip and Travis waiting for him, with Trip also wearing his dress uniform.

He started to go past them, but they said he needed to go right to the Bridge, that T'Pol was in the Mess Hall and he shouldn't see her before the wedding. He stated that he had seen her in her dress uniform before and again moved past them. He was stunned when they stopped him again saying he knew it was traditional that he not see the bride before the wedding.

Finally giving in, he sent Travis for his coffee and headed for the Bridge.

He noticed that Ensign Howard was in Hoshi's seat. Assuming Hoshi was with T'Pol he didn't say anything.

At noon, he was getting more suspicious when Travis insisted on bringing him lunch.

As the time for the wedding neared, he wondered where everyone was. Trip just told him to relax, everything was going fine.

When it got to be a half hour before the ceremony, Archer had enough, "Okay, Trip, what is going on? Where the hell is everybody? I tried to contact Shran and he didn't answer."

Trip decided they had stalled as long as they could. He told Archer, "All right, Jon, come with me to the Mess Hall and we'll sit down and I'll let you know what's going on."

With Malcolm and Travis accompanying them, they left the Bridge. When they entered the Mess Hall, Archer was stunned. There was something similar to an altar set up at one end. The tables had been stacked and it appeared all the crew of Enterprise were there as well as the members of the War Council except for Soval and Shran.

He turned to Trip who was smiling broadly. "Come on, Jon, let's get you to your place." Still stunned, Archer followed him to the 'altar'.

Trip stood by him and signaled to someone.

Archer stared as the door opened and Shran and Hoshi came through, arm in arm. He was dressed to the hilt in his Andorian dress uniform and Hoshi was dressed in a red oriental gown that extended to her ankles. She was wearing her hair long and looked stunning.

Archer knew she was behind all this but he also realized he was glad she had done it.

Shran came up and stood next to him with a big smile on his face. Hoshi stood across from them and looked a little nervously at Archer, but relaxed when he smiled reassuringly at her.

Then the Bride's music played and T'Pol came through the door escorted by Soval. There was a collective gasp in the room and Archer found his heart racing. Hoshi smiled as she saw the look on his face.

She was gorgeous, dressed in a black dress that was tasteful but still sexy as hell. Even though it was a human dress, it somehow made her even more Vulcan. Not for the first time, he marveled that this beautiful, intelligent woman loved him.

T'Pol had been a little nervous, wondering what everyone's reaction would be. But when she saw the look on Jonathan's face, she felt warm and sexy. She was so gratified she could please him. She also noticed how handsome he was in his dress uniform.

Soval removed his arm and put T'Pol's hand in Archer's and giving what appeared to be a small smile, joined the others.

Archer whispered to her, "You look beautiful. I think I should promote Hoshi."

T'Pol raised her eyebrows and Archer chuckled.

Trip then took over and began the ceremony. When the time came to exchange the rings T'Pol was stunned and then almost overcome as she saw they came from Vulcan.

When the ceremony was over and the two had kissed, Chef emerged with a giant wedding cake.

It seemed that Hoshi had instructed T'Pol well on human wedding traditions as they ate each other's cake and T'Pol even threw a makeshift bouquet to the crew. When it was caught by Crewman Lester, Crewman Andrews looked nervous for some reason.

Afterwards the couple received congratulations from everyone and T'Pol again realized how important they were to her. She felt herself moved by how happy they were for her and Jonathan.

But then it was time to change back to their regular uniforms and finish packing for their trip.

Five hours later they boarded the Charon and accompanied by two other Vulcan ships, headed for Tellar as the rest of the Fleet also went to warp.
