The magic show went on for a while, all of it full of amazing tricks and magical spectacles, but like all things, it eventually came to an end. By the time the show ended, it was close to being nighttime. Some people stayed behind to help Angie and Himiko clean up the gym, and once we were done, the nighttime announcement rang out, signalling the end of the day. I was now in my room, taking in everything that happened today. Today felt incredibly long. We saw Maki's lab, opened up the pool, computer room, and Keebo's and Tenko's labs, and then I got threatened by Kokichi, talked with Maki, hung out with Kaede, and then the magic show happened. To say I was tired would be an understatement. While I would like to work more on those notes of mine, I don't think I'll be able to stay awake long enough to really do anything with them. And after talking to Kaede this morning, I feel a lot better now. I doubt I'll be getting nightmares like last night, or at least nightmares as bad. But as I was about to get ready for bed-
Ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong ding dong!
"Hmm? What the- Who in the world-?" I asked myself as I walked towards the door and opened it up. Lo and behold, it was our resident spaceman. Of course…
"Hey, come hang out with me a sec." Kaito told me with an eager smile.
"Huh? Right now? I'm sort of tired." I told him with a dry chuckle.
"Don't worry about it. You'll feel better once we get started. We'll be waiting in the courtyard." With that, Kaito left, leaving me a bit confused.
"We?" I repeated. I shrugged. I guess I'll find out when I get there. No point in making him wait any longer, so I put on my jacket and zipped it up before heading out of my room. As soon as I stepped out of my room, I noticed Angie leaving her room too. She saw me and gave me a curious glance as she walked towards me.
"Huhhhh? Rin? Where are you going at such a late hour?" She asked me.
"Not really sure, myself." I told her while running my hand through my messy hair. "What about you, Angie?"
"Oh, I was just about to go talk with some others." Angie told me with a smile. "I actually wanted to invite you to the talk. Are you able to come?"
"Talk, huh? Depends on how long the thing Kaito wants me to do takes." I answered. "What exactly do you want to talk about?"
"Well, you and the others can't hear Atua's voice, so I want to explain the wisdom I've gotten from him. Perhaps once I share that, we can work together and come to new conclusions on what we should do in the future." Angie told me.
"Wisdom? New conclusions?" I repeated with a curious look.
"Atua has been touched by everyone's feelings, so He said we must preserve the peace here! You agree too, right? That's why you worked with Kokichi before, right?"
"...I suppose." I nodded. "But what exactly are you planning?"
"Nyahahaha! You will find out once you come to our little meeting. It'll be in my Research Lab in about an hour or two when everyone I've invited is ready." Angie laughed. "I hope you'll accept the offer. I want to work with everyone to make this academy a paradise!" With that, she skipped off to who knows where. I couldn't help but get a bad feeling from that. What could she be planning? She says she wants to make this place a paradise, but is that really true? Well, I don't have any reason to doubt her. All of her actions thus far point to that being the case. Even how she helped Himiko and the whole magic show proves that she wants the best for everyone here. Still, I can't help but feel both curious and worried. Guess I should hurry up with my business with Kaito then. I picked up the pace as I headed to the courtyard. When I got there, what awaited me was a surprise.
"Kaede, Shuichi, and Maki too?" I asked when I saw the group. "Umm, what's going on?"
"Ah! Rin! You're finally here! Now we can start training!" Kaito cheered when he saw me. I felt sweat form when I heard what he said.
"Training?" I repeated nervously.
"Of course! It's more fun when you get more people to train with after all." Kaito explained. "I told you before. I wanted to invite you when we first did our training, but you were unconscious after Tenko threw you around a few times." Oh...right. He did tell me about that. I'd forgotten about it after the whole Insect Meet and Greet, Miu's death, and Kiyo's execution.
"Umm, right, so...training." I began nervously. "Why exactly are we training now, in the dead of night?"
"That's what we asked the first time too." Kaede sighed with a small smile.
"Hmph. Why?" Kaito repeated before bringing his fists together with a serious expression. "I'll say it again! When a hero has to fight with a big enemy, they train, train, then train some more! That's what this training is! It's important for a hero like me."
"But...I'm not a hero." I readily admitted.
"So? You guys are like my super dog, cat, or horse by my side to help me be the hero!" Kaito told me.
"So we're even less than sidekicks now…" I mumbled.
"Of all the examples you could have picked…" Shuichi nodded in agreement.
"Well that was just from my perspective." Kaito quickly tried to backtrack. "Even super pets or sidekicks think of themselves as heroes. The same goes for you all! Each of you are the heroes of your own stories! So act more like it!"
"I don't know about that…" I sighed, not really seeing the point to this. I'm the hero of my own story, so act like it? If I was the hero, wouldn't that mean I would have prevented the deaths that have happened so far? Isn't that what a real hero would do? It's not like physical training is going to help me with that. It's like I said. I'm not a hero. Quite the contrary, actually.
"Did you really think that crazy explanation would convince him to stay?" Maki asked with disinterest. "If you don't want to do it, then go ahead and leave." She told me.
"H-Hey!" Kaito shouted in an offended tone.
"What? I thought this was stupid too at first." Maki told him before she looked back at me. "But now...I don't really want to give up now. I've finally started to think about...how I can confront it… So, I do suggest that you at least try it out, even if it is stupid." Everyone present seemed a bit shocked to hear that from Maki of all people, but I suppose it had to come from her for it to have such a strong feeling behind it. That's when Kaito sighed and put his hand on my shoulder.
"She's right, y'know." He said. "I asked you this before, but what's your enemy? Do you still remember what you told me?"
"My...enemy?" I repeated, the small memory coming back to me. He's right. I still have that enemy haunting me. I'm still terrified of letting everyone down. I still fall short of everything I need to do, and I keep letting people down and causing them to worry. So much has happened, but I haven't really changed myself, have I? I've just done a better job covering up the cracks with lies.
"You're still running from it, aren't 'cha? If you really want to stand against it, even a little, then we'll train with you! That way we can all get strong enough to face each of our enemies together!" Kaito told me with a big smile. I sighed. I just can't stand up to these guys, can I?
"Fine. Let's do this." I shrugged nervously. "I can't guarantee I'll be good at whatever we're doing though. I'm not exactly super in shape." Besides, I doubt Kaito would give up trying to convince me to train if I said no.
"That doesn't matter! We're not going to hold back because of something like that!" Kaito told me.
"Oh boy. I hope you're ready for this, Rin." Kaede giggled.
"Huh? Ready for what?" I asked her, now even more nervous considering she was laughing.
"Right! Now we can start! Let's begin with 100 push-ups!" Kaito told us.
"100!?" I shouted.
"Oh. Not you Rin." Kaito told me. "You'll be doing 200."
"What!?" I exclaimed. "Why!?"
"You get extra push-ups for missing our first training session, as well as that whole Insect Meet and Greet stuff." Kaito told me. "I told the others I had a little payback plan for you, and this is it!" I was left speechless at Kaito's explanation. I wanted to refute his claims, but there was nothing I could really do in this situation other than just bear with it. So, with another sigh, one that was even heavier than before, I took off my jacket and headphones and put it to the side as I got ready to 'train'. More like put myself through physical torture. Kaito, Shuichi, and Kaede did the same with their coats and vest respectively and we all started our training. Once we had started, I could already feel my body start to ache, complaining about the sudden work it was doing late at night, but I somehow was pushing through the burning feeling in my arms and legs. At least I could look over to my left and see Shuichi and Kaede struggling as well, which made me feel just a little better. Even Kaito was struggling, though not nearly as much as us three.
"Hah…! Hah…! Hah…!" Shuichi panted as he did his push-ups.
"N-Not bad...Shuichi… You're getting...better!" Kaito said while he did his own push-up.
"H-Hey Kaito...no slacking today, yeah? I'm not going to let you get out of this easily like last time!" Shuichi told him.
"Right! I'm counting...your reps, Kaito!" Kaede added with a stern look to Kaito.
"Heh, I'm on fire today. I can easily do 50 push-ups!" Kaito claimed with a big grin.
"50!? I-I...thought you said you guys were doing 100!" I exclaimed. "Well, that's not going to stop us...from doing our sets. Right, Maki?" I asked as I turned to my right, only to stop in my tracks at what I was seeing.
"91, 92, 93, 94…" Maki was counting as she was moving up and down with her push-ups at speeds I couldn't even comprehend. Just from that, I felt my confidence and determination falter in the face of her skill and strength.
"What the hell!? That fast!?" I shouted. In no time at all, Maki had already stood at her feet and brushed off dust that was on her skirt.
"100… I'm done." Maki said. I couldn't believe it. I still had over 100 to do! I guess I shouldn't be surprised since she's the Ultimate Assassin, but still! She's not even out of breath! Even Kaito, who's an accomplished astronaut trainee, is having a bit of difficulty with 100 push-ups! Maki then looked down at me and gave me a sly smile. "Aren't you breathing a little too hard, Rin? You haven't even gotten to 50 yet. It's not like we're really pushing ourselves with this." I can't believe this. Is she serious!?
"J-Just you wait! I'll be at 200...before you know it…!" I told her while gritting my teeth and picking up the pace a bit, only further increasing the burning sensation I was feeling. Maki only gave a small chuckle in response.
"You shouldn't push yourself too hard, Rin." Kaede told me. "You should keep going at a normal pace, otherwise you'll hurt yourself. It's not like this is a competition."
"But when someone so obviously taunts me like that, I don't have a choice but to rise to the occasion and prove them wrong!" I said in a pained determined voice as I kept going strong, now at the 60s in my count and my arms almost numb. "I can't...pass up a challenge like that!"
"I get that. I feel the same way sometimes." Kaito nodded.
"Is that how you felt when we were having that gambling competition a few days ago?" Shuichi asked him with a smile.
"Did you really have to bring that up, bro?" Kaito sighed, causing the rest of us to laugh. Eventually, we all managed to finish our set of push-ups. That includes me with my 200. I was able to finish it, but once I did, I sort of just collapsed where I was, completely exhausted. I could barely feel my arms.
"Urgh…" I moaned in pain.
"I'm actually impressed you managed to do all of that without any breaks." Shuichi said in awe as he looked at my toppled appearance.
"You really are stubborn once you're set on doing something." Kaede chuckled.
"Are...we done now?" I managed to ask while still laying face down on the ground.
"We're done with tonight's training." Kaito answered me. "But we're doing this again tomorrow night! Don't forget!" I groaned again in a louder voice when I heard that.
"Please tell me I won't be doing this many push-ups again." I begged.
"Hahaha! No, probably not." Kaito laughed. "But you'll be doing the same amount that we all will be doing, so that doesn't mean you can slack off next time."
"R-Right." I answered as I began to get up, my body screaming at me as I did. Everything hurt, but this was physical pain instead of the usual mental pain. I can't even focus on those when my body is aching from doing so many push-ups now. I was truly exhausted, but for some reason, I did feel a lot better than I did before doing this. I felt like I accomplished something. That I was able to set a goal for myself and I actually achieved it. I didn't fail this time.
That's when I realized the point of this training. It's not just physical training. It's actually also mental training. If we can manage to do small things like doing push-ups and consistently reach a goal of doing a certain amount of them, then it's training us to do the same with bigger goals. It's training us to have the mentality of 'if I can do 200 push-ups, then I can do this other thing if I push myself and work towards it'. It's so simple. It's painfully, stupidly simple. But that's just like the person who came up with it. I couldn't help but look back at Kaito when I came to that realization. He only gave me a confused look and tilted his head at my stunned gaze. "Hmm? What's wrong, bro?" He asked me. I couldn't help but crack a smile and started laughing lightly.
"No. It's nothing. I just realized just how much of a great hero you are." I told him genuinely.
"Well of course! I'm Kaito Momota, Luminary of the Stars! I have to be a great hero!" Kaito responded with as much gusto as he usually gives when giving his signature saying. I just smiled and nodded at his answer. I need to stop underestimating people here, or else they'll keep surprising me. Kaito might be impulsive, easily trusting, and hot-headed at times, but he's not stupid at all. He's amazing when it comes to identifying when someone has a problem and coming up with a simple solution to it. He's an Ultimate, so I guess that's just par to the course.
"Hmm?" Shuichi hummed as he turned towards something with a curious expression. "Kokichi?" I followed the detective's gaze and saw that the evil grape was out and about right now, having just left the dormitories. Kokichi noticed us and gave us a big grin as he waved to us.
"Wow! I didn't expect to see such a large group together this late at night!" He said cheerfully. "The Space Idiot, Shumai, Kaeyayday, Rinny, and Maki. The whole crew's together."
"Hey! Don't call me an idiot!" Kaito shouted. Kokichi ignored him as he snickered to himself.
"So what are you 5 doing together in the middle of the night?" He asked with an evil grin. "Not getting freaky together, I hope."
"Wh-What!? No!" Shuichi and Kaede denied immediately, their faces turning light shades of red. I sighed as I turned to the little prankster.
"We were just doing some simple exercise." I told him. Yeah...simple. Simply destroying my body.
"Exercise, huh?" Kokichi noted while tilting his head with curious eyes. That's when Kaito put his hand on his chin, thinking about something. After a few seconds, he seemed to come to a conclusion and looked at Kokichi with a genuine smile.
"Want to join us next time, Kokichi?" Kaito asked.
"Oh? You're inviting me?" Kokichi asked with a surprised expression, though it was hard to tell if it was real or not.
"You're inviting Kokichi?" Maki also asked, an expression of doubt and annoyance on her face.
"Why not? The more the merrier!" Kaito told us with a big grin and a thumbs up. "He can be a new sidekick!"
"Another sidekick?" Shuichi questioned with a dry chuckle.
"If that's the case, then definitely not. I'd rather not be the sidekick of the Moron of the Stars." Kokichi quickly quipped.
"I'm not a moron!" Kaito yelled back, angier than before. He then turned to Kokichi with a serious expression. "You have an enemy you're struggling against too, right?" All of us turned to Kokichi at that. Kaito was asking him the same question he asked me. It must be something he asks his sidekicks or possible sidekick candidates. Kokichi was only looking back at Kaito with a neutral expression, one that might have been hiding surprise, or perhaps boredom. "I don't really understand you, man. You're easily one of the most confusing and annoying people I've met with all your lying, but I know there's a reason for it. If you have an enemy that you're dealing with, training with us will definitely help you with that." Kokichi continued to blankly stare at Kaito before he responded in a soft voice.
"...You're right. I do have an enemy I'm dealing with right now." Kokichi told him.
"You do?" Kaede asked.
"Yep." Kokichi then put on his usual evil smirk before continuing. "It's all of you! In this death game, everyone is my enemy! Shouldn't that be obvious? So with that in mind, why would I want to 'train' with my enemies?" Kaito only sighed as he put a hand on his forehead.
"You could have just said no." Kaito sighed.
"Well, you asked me a serious question and I answered truthfully. Isn't that what someone is normally supposed to do when asked such a serious question?" Kokichi giggled. "Besides, I already said it before. Being your sidekick is the last thing I'd want. A supreme leader like myself would never be caught dead being the sidekick to such a big, stupid, trusting idiot obsessed with space like you."
"For the last time, stop calling me an idiot!" Kaito screamed angrily.
"Nee-heehee… Nope!" Kokichi cooed playfully. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have my own business to attend to."
"Business?" Shuichi asked.
"Angie wanted to talk to me and some others about something. It shouldn't take too long." Kokichi told him. "Actually, Rinny, weren't you also invited?"
"Oh, right. I guess it is starting soon." I said as I got my stuff, with my body feeling less sore now. "I suppose I'll head over with you. You don't mind, right?"
"You want to join me? I suppose your supreme leader could grace you with his presence." Kokichi said with a tone of superiority as he held his hands out wide.
"Sure. Whatever you say, shorty." I shot back, causing him to immediately give me a pouty face.
"What does Angie want to talk about, Rin?" Kaede asked me.
"I don't know either. She just told me she wanted to talk with me and some others about our situation. I'll let you know if anything important happens, but I imagine she's just going to talk to us about not wanting to leave the academy. She was talking about that before, right? It's probably that." I told her.
"She has been talking about that more than before today…" Shuichi commented.
"Not like it really matters. We have to stay here until we find a way to escape anyway." Maki sighed. "As long as Angie doesn't do anything stupid, I don't care what she does."
"I'm not so sure it's about that." Kokichi said. "The way she talked made me think it was about something else, but I guess we won't know until we get there, huh?"
"Right." I nodded as I turned to the others and waved goodbye. "You guys have a good night. I'll see you tomorrow."
"Right. Take care, bro." Kaito told me.
"Yep. Goodnight." Kaede said before she yawned. "I'll be heading to bed now. I'm tired."
"Me too." Shuichi nodded. "Goodnight, Rin." With that, Kaito, Maki, Kaede, and Shuichi left, leaving me and Kokichi alone in the courtyard.
"Are you sure about coming to the meeting with me, Rinny? You do remember what happened today in the dining hall, right?" Kokichi asked me with an evil grin.
"Yeah, I do." I told him. "I just don't think you'd try anything now that the others know we're together."
"True, true." Kokichi nodded with a childish smile.
"Well, there's that, and the fact that I think what you did in the dining hall was just an act." I added as I started walking.
"Huh?" Kokichi made a loud noise of shock when he heard that. I ignored his reaction and turned back to him.
"What's wrong? Aren't you coming?" I asked him. He gave me a confused look before following me to Angie's lab. There wasn't any talking while we made our way to the Ultimate Artist's Research Lab, though I did catch Kokichi stealing a few glances at me. He seemed to be trying to piece together what I said and what I meant by it. He seemed a little aggravated about it as well. Not that I cared. I can't stop myself from still trusting him to an extent. If he has a problem with that, that's his own fault. After walking in silence for a while, we made it to the fourth floor and walked to the entrance of Angie's lab. But when we tried to open the door, it wouldn't open for us.
"It's locked. Shouldn't Angie be in here by now, though?" Kokichi mumbled. "Well, I could always pick the lock."
"There's no need. I have a key." I told him as I took said key out of my pocket.
"You have a key? I didn't know that." Kokichi noted. Well, I haven't used the key yet, but Angie did give it to me for some reason, so I might as well use it now. After unlocking the door, we walked in and saw-
"Ah!" I gasped in surprise. I couldn't help it. Not with what I was seeing. In the middle of Angie's lab were 4 statues. Statues of Rantaro, Kaede, Ryoma, and Kirumi, all hanging upside down, And lying in the middle of them was Angie, blood pooling all around her as she laid lifelessly on the floor. I felt my breathing rapidly increase in speed as I stared at the horrific scene. That's when I felt a tap on my shoulder. I jumped as I turned to see Kokichi staring at me with a confused expression. I quickly turned back to where I saw the body, only to see a living Angie, along with Keebo, Tenko, and Himiko, all talking amongst themselves. Oh… Another Foresight episode. I collected myself after realizing that, running my hand down my face. Forget it for now. Can't exactly theorize about it while other people are here. That's when Angie finally noticed us and smiled.
"Oh! Kokichi! Rin! I was hoping you would arrive soon." Angie cheered.
"The door was locked though." Kokichi mumbled.
"Was it?" Angie asked with a confused voice. "I must have done that accidentally, since I usually lock it when I'm in here making art."
"Well is everyone here now?" I asked.
"Yep! With you two, we can get started!" Angie happily said.
"Why exactly have you called us here, Angie?" Keebo asked.
"You said something about Atua." Himiko added.
"Yes, well…" Angie began with a sweet smile. "I want to make a student council here in the Ultimate Academy!"
"Student…council?" I asked with a tilted head.
"That's ridiculous. Why would you want to have a student council now? This isn't a normal school." Tenko said.
"It does sound a bit silly and illogical." Keebo nodded. "What exactly is the goal for this student council?"
"It's simple." Angie said. "It's to help make this academy a paradise for us!"
"Paradise? You're still going on about that?" Tenko muttered.
"But if we throw away our desire to leave this place, then there won't be anymore murders." Angie told her. "So we need a student council, a group that can help turn this academy into a heaven on earth so no more death happens."
"Is that why you called us here?" Kokichi asked with an intrigued look.
"Yes. I thought you all would be wonderful members of the new student councils!" Angie nodded happily. "So what do you think? Want to join the student council? Atua will be very pleased!"
"Nyeeeh… I'll join then." Himiko said. "It sounds like it could help us out here, and if it pleases Atua, then it must be the right decision."
"Wonderful! I'm happy to have you as a council member, Himiko!" Angie cheered.
"Himiko…" Tenko said softly in a pained voice before her expression hardened with determination. "Then...I'll join the council too!"
"Oh? Really? I didn't expect that." Angie gasped. "I asked you to come since I thought you might be willing to help me stop the killing game, but I didn't think you would accept so easily. I thought you didn't like me."
"W-Well…" Tenko began nervously. "I-I've been thinking about what you've been saying, and I think I'm starting to understand this Atua stuff. So, I want to help!"
"If that's the case, then we're happy to have you as well!" Angie smiled widely. "What about you three? Will you join the student council too?" She asked me, Kokichi, and Keebo. Before I could say anything, Kokichi started laughing.
"Hahaha… Nah!" He said in a cheeky voice. "Like I would want to be a part of a group trying to stop the killings from happening. Why did you even invite me to this? Shouldn't you know by now that I'm not opposed to the killing game?"
"You may say that, but your actions with the motive video were a bit strange." Angie pointed out. "Besides, Rin helped you with that plan. Since he's trying his best to prevent a killing, then that must mean you had similar goals, right?"
"Haha, as if. Rinny here can believe what he wants, but that won't change the fact that I find this unpredictable killing game extremely exciting." Kokichi claimed while spreading out his arms. "I want to enjoy this killing game with everything I have. That's the truth. What could be more fun than this? So you all can do what you want, but don't expect that to stop me from making this game exciting." With that, Kokichi turned around and left the lab.
"I figured he would reject the offer, but it was worth a shot. Perhaps it's better this way. Having him as part of the Student Council might have lowered group morale with how he tends to act." Angie sighed. "And you two?" Keebo put his hand on his chin as he thought about it before he nodded.
"Your proposal does make more logical sense now that you've explained your plan. A group dedicated to putting an end to the killing game..." Keebo began with a thoughtful look. "I do not know if your god is real, but...I have a feeling I should believe in you and your god. That's what my inner voice tells me anyway. So I will join your student council as well."
"Inner voice?" I questioned.
This #$%# will feature #$%*&^ participation. That kid...is his name Keebo? I remember Idabashi's friends calling him K1-B0 or something. Anyway, he's the {#}&%$#, so you'll have to get #*&")! before #%$#$%&#%^
I felt my head start throbbing at that. It hurts to even attempt to remember that. Remember? Is that the right word for it? It doesn't feel like a memory. It's not even a full one. What was that person trying to tell me? And...why can't I fully remember? And there was stuff about Idabashi? That's Keebo's creator. Do I know him? Does Keebo know something about it? Keebo didn't get a chance to explain as Angie jumped up with joy.
"Nyahaha! Lovely! Do not worry, Keebo. Now that you're a part of the student council, I'm sure you will see the wonderful works of Atua." She said sweetly. "Now all that's left is what Rin wants." And so, everyone turned to me with a curious look. I put my hand on my chin as I thought about the offer. What do I want to do? This student council...I have mixed feelings about it. Sure, it might help, but it might also cause a lot of problems. It depends on what the council will actually be doing. It might help solve a lot of issues, or it could create a lot more. Not to mention there's the others. How will they react to this? I can't help but feel conflicted. If I join, won't it be just like what happened when I worked with Kokichi? How can I know if this is the right thing to do?
But that's when I had a thought. Even if the others don't like it, that wouldn't change anything if this really is the right thing to do. If something has to be done to prevent a murder, then I should do it. Angie wants us all to live here forever, and I don't agree with that. Not only that, but I also don't really believe in her God. But this student council is a chance to make a real difference. Everyone here wants to work together to stop the killing game, like me. So I should trust them. I can't keep doing things by myself. I can't end up with another Kirumi, and I can't keep failing to do anything like what happened with Miu. I just need to do everything I can to help us survive. I will do everything I can to help everyone survive. I've already made up my mind about that after watching that video of mine. These people are the most precious people in the world to me at this moment, so I can't lose anyone else. This is what Kaito's training is for, isn't it? To feel confident about my choices and my own decisions. I looked up to Angie and gave her a nod. "Yeah, I'll join."
"Nyahaha! Excellent!" Angie cried out in pure joy. "I'm happy you all decided to join the student council!"
"So, since it's a student council, are we going to have positions that need to be filled?" Himiko asked.
"Hmm, yes. You're right. We will need a Student Council President." Angie nodded.
"And will that be you? Since this was your-I mean, Atua's idea?" Tenko asked, slight annoyance on her face when she said that.
"If that's what you all want, then I will happily become the Student Council's President." Angie told us. "But Atua thinks we should vote for which one of us we think should lead us. That is fairer, isn't it?"
"Vote?" Keebo asked. "Does that mean you have someone in mind for the position?"
"Rin!" Angie answered quickly. That shocked all of us when we heard that.
"You want me to be the president?" I asked, genuinely surprised.
"Yep! You're the oldest one here, and you've already been trying to prevent deaths here. You're the most trustworthy one here, so I believe you are perfect to lead the student council." Angie told me with a sweet smile. "If you become the president, Atua and I will do all we can to give you wisdom and advice, as your friend and ally!"
"Nyeeeh… If Angie believes that, then Rin should be the president." Himiko nodded at the idea.
"Yes. I believe Rin is much more suited for that role." Tenko gave a sigh of relief.
"I have no problems with it either." Keebo added.
"H-Hold on a second!" I said. "Don't I get a say in this?"
"Of course, but it seems all of us want you to be the president!" Angie told me. I sighed. That does seem to be the case, but am I really the best person to do this? I'm not really confident in being a leader. I think Angie is better suited for that with how easily she can win people over. She seems more charismatic than I am, and this was all her idea. But if they believe I can do this, then I should too, right? That's what everyone's been telling me to do, after all. To have more confidence in myself and actions. So...it's time I start doing that.
"...Alright. I'll be the president of this student council." I sighed before looking at everyone. "Where do we go from here?"
