Ding Dong Bing Bong.
"This is an official announcement from the Ultimate Academy! It is now 8:00 a.m."
"Urk!" I shot up from my desk when the morning announcement started. It took me a few seconds to realize what was going on. I had fallen asleep at my desk again, my motive video and the Electro Radar in front of me, along with tons of paper, each detailing multiple possible theories about everything I could think of, from what the killing game was, my memories, and even ways of escape. I groaned as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, all while being forced to listen to the Monokub's stupid antics again.
"THIS-IS-AN-EMERGENCY-ANNOUNCEMENT. PLEASE-ASSEMBLE-IN-THE-GYM." My attention was immediately grabbed when I heard Monodam say that though. "REFUSAL-TO-GET- ALONG...IS-GROUNDS-FOR-PUNISHMENT."
"Oh, Monodam, you're really obsessed with this whole getting-along thing!" Monotaro noted.
"'Friends' is the only show he watches now!" Monophanie added. They have TV?
"IF-YOU-DON'T-GET-ALONG...I-WON'T-FORGIVE-YOU. I-WILL-USE-THE-EXISALS-TO -PEEL-YOUR-FACES-OFF-LIKE-MANDARIN-ORANGES." Monodam threatened. I immediately shuttered at the thought of the graphic image. Did not need that first thing in the morning…
"Ughhhh! That's so gory!" Monophanie cried out, sharing my displeasure of the threat. "P-Please get along everyo-" She couldn't finish as she started throwing up.
"Ah! She puked again! Ooh, it's blue this time! How rare!" Monotaro exclaimed. "They say anyone who sees Monophanie's blue puke will have good luck." Good luck, huh? I couldn't help but look at the Radar when I heard that. Would you consider last night 'good luck'? With a final farewell, the monitors shut off, leaving me alone with my thoughts once more. Lots of things were going through my mind at the moment. The student council that we formed yesterday, as well as my first test run of the Electro Radar. Student Council meeting ended sooner than expected, with just us talking a bit about how we would go about doing what we would do and what our main goals should be, the goals being ending the killing game and preventing any death, obviously. I soon left after that, though the others wanted to stay behind and talk a bit more with Angie about Atua, so since I was free, I was able to finally test the Radar in my room.
...It works. A miracle, I guess, considering I partially made the battery from scratch. Speaking of which, the battery is a bit finicky. It works fine on low power settings, but I'm afraid it'll blow up in my hands if I go anywhere close to max power. Still, it works fine on low settings, which is what I'll be mainly using it for anyway. I don't really need max power for just a small room. It does exactly what I wanted it to do: it scans the area it's in for electronic devices and can shut them off. The problem is with what it found last night. In just my room alone there were over 20 devices. To say I was creeped out was an understatement. I immediately disabled them, causing the radar to make a small humming sound before it stopped. Using the radar again showed 0 devices in range, so it definitely did it's job, at least for a time.
Speaking of which, time to see if I was right about this. I picked up the radar and quickly turned it on once again, keeping the same settings so that it would only detect devices in my room. After I pressed the button, I got the same results as last night: 20 devices. It only disables them for a short period of time. I figured, but that's still a disappointment. 20 devices...if they're all cameras, then… I felt a chill at that thought. L-Let's just move on with the rest of the day. I can't do anything about this right now. I should just be happy I have even a bit of confirmation about that theory. But there are still questions I have no answers to. Like that foresight vision of Angie's death. I still have no idea what that was all about. What were those statues for, and is that just what would have happened, or can it still happen? Unfortunately, I can't stay on that for too long. We all have to go to the gym, after all.
So I put on my usual outfit and walked out of my room, still zipping up my jacket as I did. Seems like everyone is already headed for the gym, so I should hurry up and walk over there. With a quick pace, I moved my way through the murderous academy as soon found myself in the gym, everyone already and waiting. "Morning everyone." I greeted. "So, am I right in assuming that this is going to be another motive the cubs are going to give us?"
"Most likely." Shuichi nodded with a tired frown.
"Geez...what a pain." Himiko mumbled.
"Himiko's right. Murder and death have no place in a peaceful academy life." Angie sighed.
"Yes. It's just like Angie said." Keebo nodded.
"Y-Yeah. Just like Angie said." Tenko nodded. Almost immediately, most of the others noticed something was going on. I couldn't help but let out a sigh. That will be fun to explain, I'm sure. That's when the only person who had yet to show up, ran into the gym in a panic.
"Everyone! It serious!" Gonta yelled.
"Oh, no… The Colossal Insect is on the other side of the wall, isn't it!?" Kokichi screamed in terror.
"No, not that. Gonta went to courtyard before coming here and-" He never got to finish as the cubs burst into the gym with their loud, obnoxious greeting.
"Rise and shine, ursine! Thanks for bearing with us!" They all shouted.
"C'monnnn, what is it? Why'd you call us out all of a sudden!?" Monotaro yelled at us.
"We're the ones who called them out! Did you forget that, too?" Monophanie sighed.
"LET'S-WORRY-ABOUT-MONOTARO...LATER, AND-PRESENT-THE-MOTIVE-NOW." Monodam told her.
"So it is a motive after all." Shuichi muttered.
"I thought you wanted us to all get along." I added with a grimace.
"Nyahahaha! It doesn't matter what the motive is, we will not do the killing game anymore." Angie said happily.
"Th-That's right! We aren't afraid of anything anymore!" Tenko nodded hesitantly in agreement.
"...Because we have Atua." Keebo confidently said. That's when I raised an eyebrow myself, along with most of the others. I know Keebo and the others stayed in Angie's lab a bit longer after I left, but did Angie manage to convert Keebo into Atua-ism as well during that time? He was saying how his 'inner voice' was telling him to believe in Angie and her god, so I guess he has become a devotee. I didn't know robots could have religions. Must be nice to have something to believe in, whether or not it's real. Still, aside from that little comment, Keebo doesn't seem too different from usual. Maybe a bit more relaxed if anything, like Himiko, so I guess Angie's religion is giving them at least some peace. Though, with Himiko, it's more like pure escapism with her. Keebo seems like he actually believes and it isn't being used as an emotional crutch.
Still, it makes me think back to what the others were saying before when we saw it with Himiko. 'Brainwashing', huh? I don't fully understand why Tenko was calling what Angie did for Himiko 'brainwashing'. If anything, it feels like Himiko willingly took the opportunity with Atua to escape the emotional pain this place brings. Perhaps Angie is just Atua as a form of manipulation, or maybe 'Atua' was just a way to force her will on another, but I can't really believe that's really the case. When it comes to Angie and Himiko, Angie only used 'Atua' as a way to calm Himiko down or make her happier. She's just...trying to help a friend, even if it's in an unhealthy way.
Angie really hasn't done anything bad. She's made her desires pretty clear too. She wants to stop the killing, and she thinks that making the academy a paradise will do that. Honestly, just from how she spoke last night and how I've seen her act before today, Angie might be as determined as I am to prevent a killing. Maybe that's why she wanted me to be the leader of the council. Because she feels the same about me. So I think she's trustworthy. If her actions do start becoming more worrying, then I'll have to put my foot down, but right now, it seems fine.
"But it's no ordinary motive. This motive will inspire fear like never before." Monophanie told us, bringing me back from my thoughts.
"Fear like never before?" Rantaro repeated with a questioning glare. Fear…?
The motive this time around will be your darkest fears and worst nightmares! There is a drug in the air that will cause you to have horrible hallucinations and nightmares! The only way for it to end is if someone dies! How tragic!
I clasped my head at the sudden thought. Another resemblance. I tightened my fist as I took a deep breath. Ignore it. It's just the tension of the killing game getting to me. It doesn't mean anything. I'm just paranoid. I'm not traumatized like Kiyo said. I'm just imagining horrible things. Monodam then began to explain why he was giving us a motive anyway.
"IF-YOU-FACE-A-FEAR-LIKE-NEVER-BEFORE, YOU'LL-HAVE-NO-CHOICE… BUT-TO- UNITE." Monodam told us. "NOW, FOR-THE-MOTIVE-THAT-WILL-CAST-YOU-DOWN-INTO- THE-DEPTHS-OF-TERROR…"
"We'll present it together!" Monotaro and Monophanie said at the same time, their lightning bolt eyes shining with excitement.
"This time, the motive is a transfer student!" Monotaro shouted. "Yep! A new student is transferring! And not just any transfer student…"
"You get to resurrect one of the four people who've died so far…" Monophanie explained. "...and welcome them back to the academy as a transfer student!"
"Wellll?" The two said as they looked at all of us with looks of expectation. I don't know about the others, but I was just staring at the cubs in disbelief. I almost wanted to laugh. Resurrection? Are you kidding me? That's completely impossible. How is this a motive?
"A transfer student…?" Kaede questioned nervously.
"We can...resurrect someone?" Kaito asked in horror.
"The instructions for the resurrection ritual are written in the Necronomicon." Monotaro told us as he took out a black, sinister-looking book and tossed it to me. "By performing the ritual as written, you can resurrect one deceased victim."
"But only one of the four who have died so far can become the transfer student." Monophanie added. "Whoever you choose, that person will be considered part of the killing game semester."
"So technically, you can kill 'em again as soon as they're resurrected." Monotaro noted. "Y'know...if you wanted to use it like that."
"THIS-MOTIVE...IS-SUPPOSED-TO-BRING-THEM-CLOSER-TOGETHER." Mondam grimaced at the other two cubs.
"O-Oh...s-s-sorry! Old habits and such…" Monotaro apologized.
"Monodam...let's forgive Monotaro. Forgiving is what friends do, y'know." Monophanie told her brother.
"MONOPHANIE...YOU'RE-NICE." Monodam said as the cubs started to leave, leaving us alone in the gym. And to think I thought nothing else this school could throw at me could leave me even more speechless than it already has, but I guess I was wrong again.
"T-Transfer student…? R-Resurrecting the dead…?" Keebo muttered.
"D-Don't say such a stupid thing! There's no way resurrecting the dead is possible!" Kaito shouted, fear in his eyes as he did. "I-It just can't happen…"
"Seriously...who would believe something like this?" I mumbled as I scanned through the contents of the book. Nothing bad so far. Nothing crazy like 'you must kill someone in order to bring this person back from the dead', so there's that. But none of this even sounds supernatural. How can any of this resurrect someone? Wait, why am I even considering the possibility? It's completely absurd!
"Who knows? Crazy things can happen. It's happened to me many times during my trips. Some things happen that science can't begin to explain." Rantaro commented. "Though this is strange. I wonder what the purpose for this is."
"So do you believe it, Avataro?" Kokichi asked him.
"Can't say that I do." Rantaro shook his head. "Crazy things can happen that can't be explained, but once someone's dead, they're dead. Nothing you can do about it."
"And you don't believe it either, Rin?" Angie asked me.
"Nope. Not in the slightest. It's impossible. There's no denying that. Nothing in this book seems even remotely related to bringing someone back to life." I sighed as I closed the book.
"I-If not even Rantaro or Rin believe it, then...there's no such thing as resurrecting the dead." Kaito muttered as he wiped sweat off his face.
"And if this idealistic degenerate can't believe it, no reasonable girl would believe it, either!" Tenko added.
"Hmmm, you think so? I don't think it's strange for the dead to come back to life." Angie then said.
"Really Angie?" Keebo asked with hopeful eyes.
"It seems you have a theory about this. What is it, Angie? You're free to speak your mind." Tenko said. Still a little weird seeing Tenko be super nice to Angie…
"Nyahahaha, can I say it?" Angie asked before clasping her hands together with a bright smile. "Yaaaay! Okay, I'm gonna say it. Cuz that's what Atua desires." She cheered.
"So...you believe you can actually bring the dead back to life?" Kaede asked the artist?
"Umm...I don't think the resurrection ritual can really bring the dead back to life." Angie began. "It's probably more like...returning the dead to us."
"Returning the dead to us?" Shuichi questioned.
"And what does that mean?" Maki asked.
"Y'know how the bodies of all the victims have been cleaned up?" Angie asked with a creepy expression. "So clean, it's like there was never a dead body to begin with? So maybe they were never dead to begin with?"
"Weren't...dead?" Kaede repeated in a soft whisper. I froze when I heard that, my face scrunching up in pain and sadness at just the thought.
"No, that's not possible." I objected. "I...We inspected all of the bodies ourselves! We-"
"But, but...it might've been a very accurate imitation!" Angie cut me off. "I've seen many sculptors, and some look so life-like that I sometimes forget they're not real people! Perhaps it's the same here."
"An...imitation?" I muttered in horror. Could...that really be… No...don't do this. Don't give me hope. Don't give me hope that the people I failed to save...my friends...that they're still alive somewhere.
"Monokuma and the Exisals are evidence of ridiculous scientific advancements, so I do believe that it is possible for them to have created extremely convincing imitations." Keebo then said. That's...true.
"I've always supported Angie. She hasn't been wrong yet." Himiko nodded.
"Yayyy! Thank you, everyone!" Angie cheered.
"What? No, wait a minute! I saw them with my own eyes-" Shuichi began, but Tenko interrupted him.
"Graaahhh! Don't raise your voice to Angie. You rude degenerate!" She shouted.
"Hey, you don't want them to be alive, Shuichi? You don't want the dead to be alive?" Angie asked innocently enough. I couldn't help but clutch the book in my hands tighter, feeling the same thing that Shuichi and the others must be feeling at the moment.
"I-I do! I do want that! I wish they were still alive… Even now I think that." Shuichi answered with a pained expression. "But no matter how much we want that…"
"Oh, wait! If everyone alive, that mean they're somewhere in school, right? So...maybe one of them write message in courtyard?" Gonta said.
"The message in the courtyard?" Ryoma repeated.
"You mean the 'horse a' thing?" Rantaro asked.
"Yeah...but it sort of different now." Gonta said as he crossed his arms. "On way here, Gonta go see writing in courtyard, and it have more writing this time."
"More writing?" Shuichi questioned.
"Gonta no could understand what writing mean, but maybe it message from dead? Maybe everyone leave message for us that say, 'Hey! We alive!'"
"A message...from everyone who died?" I said in shock, almost believing the idea when Gonta presented it. B-But that can't be it. I-It's impossible…
"Cuz no one here write it, did they? So someone else musta write it, right?" Gonta brought up a fair point. No one had admitted to writing the message, so who wrote it? My mind went back to when Gonta first found the message. It was horse a, and once I heard that, Foresight told me about twins b and how both were clues to the Ultimate Survivor, Rantaro. But is there more going on with the 'horse a' message? Is there two clues that 'horse a' makes up? Is it really trying to tell us something more? It's certainly possible.
"So you're saying it had to be a dead person hiding in the school who wrote that message? That's what you're saying, right?" I asked him. "You...honestly believe that?" Gonta nodded fervently at my question. I bit my lip. No...I don't want this. I don't want this hope right now. Because...if it's all fake...I don't think my heart could take anymore sorrow.
"Either way, there's nothing more divine than being reunited with a friend." Angie clapped her hands together cheerfully. "So Rin, you're the president, so what do you think we should do?" Everyone turned to me, with the student council members giving me curious looks while the others gave me confused ones. I took a deep breath and looked at the book once more, flipping through the pages while scanning each page for a single flaw that could prove it was just a ploy to get us to kill someone. But nothing I found could make me believe that. Nothing detailed in this book involved hurting anyone in any way. I gulped as I looked up from the book. If that's the case…
"..." I didn't answer as I put the book into my jacket pocket.
"R-Rin… You can't be serious, can you?" Kaede asked me. "You even said that it was impossible for the dead to come back to life. And that's supposed to be a motive to get us to kill!"
"Even so...nothing in this book is even the slightest bit dangerous." I responded. "I...I still don't believe it. No, I refuse to believe it. It's impossible for the dead to come back to life, and it's impossible that our friends are still alive somewhere out there. Tsumugi and Kiyo killed Miu in very direct ways. There's no way either of them could have mistakenly left their victims alive, and they were executed right before us too. So this ritual is 's why I won't believe it. I won't let it give me false hope. If I let false hope break my heart, I don't know what I'd do. But...I think we should at least entertain the idea, since there's nothing bad about the ritual itself. What's the worst that can happen?"
"And besides, perhaps this is a motive that's dangerous to ignore, rather than dangerous to use. Like the Time Limit Motive." Keebo pointed out. "For example, maybe Rin's wrong and the people who've died are actually alive, and if we don't perform the ritual, maybe they will be killed for certain this time?" I didn't even want to think about that theory. I've already seen so much death just these past few days. I've already...seen Kirumi be killed twice. I don't want to imagine a third death for her.
"Hm, it would be a problem if we allowed 4 potential survivors to die. If we can save even just one, we should do it." Angie said.
"And Monodam just said it himself, didn't he? This motive is to help us get along, not kill." Himiko pointed out.
"Yes...that is true. So far, Monodam's only motive is for all of us to 'get along'. He even overthrew Monokuma to do that." I noted.
"Nyahaha. You're so smart for telling us about that message, Gonta. You're a savior to the four people who might still be alive." Angie said as she walked over to Gonta and hugged him.
"Ack!" Gonta chirped in surprise with the sudden gesture.
"You work so hard, Gonta. You're always trying to keep everyone safe. Even when you go berserk, you're still considerate of everyone else, aren't you? I know this...because Atua is always watching you."
"A-Always...watching...Gonta?"
"...Don't worry. You're not alone, Gonta." Angie said softly and sweetly to the large teen, every word genuine and full of care. "Atua is like a gentle grandmother, watching over you and keeping you safe."
"Grandmas...are nice…" Gonta muttered as the hug ended.
"I thought Atua was a handsome man…" Kaede commented.
"Angie's Atua changes his appearance depending on who's looking." Himiko explained.
"Well, that's not suspiciously convenient at all." Kokichi exclaimed.
"Oh yeah! Why don't you join our student council, Gonta?" Angie asked.
"It would certainly be more reassuring if you were a part of it, big guy." I added.
"Mhm...you will use your power for the peace of the academy." Himiko said with a determined look.
"Nyahaha! See how much everyone needs you, Gonta? You should definitely join." Angie told him.
"You need Gonta?" Gonta asked with a surprised tone. "Okay! Gonta join student council too!"
"W-Wait, before all of that, what exactly is this 'student council'?" Shuichi asked us. "Is that why you all have been acting weird?"
"Last night, Angie summoned us to discuss how we can eradicate the killing game." Keebo began.
"Me, Keebo...Tenko, Rin, and Kokichi." Himiko said.
"Kokichi?" Rantaro repeated as he turned to the little grape.
"Don't look at me. I rejected that stupid student council offer." Kokichi said while raising his hands in a defensive manner.
"It's true. He rejected the offer. Oh how very sad." Angie sighed.
"But the rest of us arrived at a conclusion!" Tenko exclaimed. That's when Tenko, Himiko, Angie, and Keebo all got around me and did poses.
"...Huh?" I found myself asking. "What are you guys doing?"
"Shush! You're ruining our grand debut!" Angie whisper-yelled at me. I just scratched my head as they continued.
"This is the Ultimate Academy Student Council, with Rin Wakuri as our president!" Tenko yelled excitedly.
"Ultimate Academy Student Council?" Shuichi questioned.
"And Rin's the president?" Kaede added as she stared at me. I just shrugged as I gave her a weak smile.
"They put it to a vote...and they all picked me." I chuckled nervously.
"That's right! We've all banded together under the leadership of President Rin!" Angie cheered happily.
"...I haven't done much yet, though." I mumbled.
"Our platform...is the wholesale eradication of the killing game." Keebo continued, ignoring my comment.
"Nyeh… Our student council promises a killing game-free Ultimate Academy." Himiko proudly said.
"And we promise no one will die, obviously. We will do everything we can to prevent a murder from happening." I added.
"Yes, there can be no harmony between us if we keep saying different things." Keebo nodded.
"Oh, shut up!" Kokichi yelled at us angrily.
"What!?" Keebo shouted back.
"Well, it's called the student council, but the idea came from Atua." Angie explained. "He wanted us to work together to end this killing game so everyone could live peacefully in the academy."
"Since Angie is the only one who can talk to him, she put it upon herself to get the student council started and elected Rin as our leader." Keebo nodded.
"Nyeh...that's right. She made it very clear last night to us after Rin left the meeting that Atua wanted him to lead us. The reason being that he was the oldest among us, as well as the smartest and most trustworthy." Himiko added. I couldn't help but look at Angie at that. Atua, huh? Or is that Angie's opinion on me? Either way, she sure was forceful in giving me this role, but I guess that was because she thought it was important I became the president.
"Yes. Rin is someone we can trust. He's already done everything he can to end the killing game by himself, so it's up to us to support him and help him in any way we can!" Tenko then said.
"...Thanks, you guys. I'll be counting on you all with this stuff." I told them with a smile. "I'm not a great leader by any means, but it means a lot to know you all trust me so much."
"Of course! You're our dear friend, after all!" Angie told me. "And if you're happy, then me and Atua are happy as well!"
"Ah geez, they've been totally brainwashed." Kokichi sighed. "Guess Rinny was right after all. Angie did start a cult. Didn't think he would end up the leader of the cult though."
"It's not a cult. And no one is brainwashed." I mumbled, though I was debating with myself if it really was a cult or not. All the Atua stuff might get complicated later if it gets out of hand like I was thinking before.
"But she's using 'Atua' to manipulate and control you all." Kokichi shot back.
"'Using' is a rude way to describe it. And Atua has nothing to do with us joining the student council." Keebo responded. "We all chose to join because we want this killing game to end, and we thought this would be the best way to do that. The president wants peace for this school, and so does Angie, Atua, and all of us. We all agree that this is for the best."
"Yeah! Gonta not let anyone talk bad about student council!" Gonta yelled.
"Easy big guy. No need to get angry." I told him, calming him down quickly.
"I'm more surprised that Tenko is a part of this." Kokichi giggled mischievously.
"Huh? Wh-Why?" Tenko asked.
"You and Angie were fighting a few days ago, weren't you?" Rantaro said. "It was about Himiko, wasn't it?"
"It is strange. This was Angie's idea, so why would you bother to listen to it?" Ryoma asked her.
"Wh-Who cares about that…? I...finally realized how great Atua is, and...how lovely Angie is as a person." Tenko refuted. "And Rin is the leader. He might be a degenerate male, but he's more trustworthy than other degenerates!"
"Thanks for the vote of confidence, Tenko." I sighed.
"That's right, that's right…" Angie nodded. "Now what were we talking about again?" Angie asked before she snapped her fingers. "Ohhhh, that resurrection ritual, right? Just leave this to the student council. It's less burdensome if we make the decision on how to deal with it."
"Agreed." I nodded. "I'm less worried about the ritual itself and how this will affect us. The cubs said this motive was targeting our fears after all. I think I get what they mean by that now."
"And what is that?" Maki asked with a pointed glare.
"The real motive isn't the ritual itself. It's the dilemma we have of whether or not we should use it. It's causing us to fight over it because of our fears relating to it." I told them. "Like I said, I don't believe this ritual will work, even if the other council members do. Still, I'm willing to test it to see if it really does work. I doubt it, but hey, who knows. But using the ritual is better than just arguing with each other on what we should do with it. If we keep arguing, we won't get anywhere. A decision has to be made. We all have to make a unanimous choice of whether we use it or not, otherwise our fears will start to control us. So, as the student council, let us make that decision. It'll be easier that way."
"Easier?" Shuichi said in a mortified voice.
"Shouldn't this kind of thing be decided by all of us? Why are you giving yourselves the responsibility of choosing for us?" Ryoma asked with an annoyed glance.
"Don't most people leave the responsibility of big decisions to their governments or a representative?" I asked in return. "I fail to see how this is different. So just leave it to us. We'll take care of this and make sure it all works out."
"That's a relief… It certainly will be easier since we all already have an agreement on what we should do." Himiko gave a small smile. "And we have Atua with us in case something goes wrong."
"Yep, yep. Atua is always right, and he's saying we should definitely perform the ritual." Angie nodded.
"Are you guys serious? The resurrection ritual is clearly a trap." Maki told us.
"Like I said, we won't get anywhere if we keep arguing over what we should or shouldn't do. We should just take action instead of bickering about it." I shot back. "It's like the flashback lights, right? I told you guys I thought they might be traps, but you still used it anyway, right? So why are you hesitating with this? Because it's explicitly stated to be a 'motive'? What? Does that mean if I label the bathrooms as dorm rooms you would believe that they're different rooms then? The flashback lights are also given to us by Monokuma and the cubs, so I don't see much difference between that and this."
"Are you seriously trying to get back at us for using the flashback light? I didn't expect you to be petty." Maki spat out.
"I'm not being petty. I'm just bringing up an example of you guys being reckless when there's a possibility of it being a trap. So let's follow your lead and be a little reckless. You seemed to be right about the lights anway, so this ritual might be just like the lights. Just because they call it a 'motive' doesn't mean we can't gain anything from it or that it's inherently bad. We won't learn anything if we just ignore the ritual. If we use it, we can figure some stuff out, whether it works or not. Best case scenario, someone gets brought back to life, and worst case scenario, nothing happens and we learn something new perhaps. I don't see anything bad about it." I said. That last part was a lie. I do see one risk with this. The only risk I can see with this ritual, but I'll leave that to the student council meeting later.
"Rin is right. It'll be fine. As long as everyone puts aside their desire to leave." Angie said joyfully.
"It doesn't seem they're going to budge on that at all." Rantaro said with a conflicted expression. I couldn't tell if he was curious about the ritual, concerned about it, or angry we were wanting to perform it. Ever the mystery, that one… Speaking of mystery, Kaito hasn't said anything in a while. He's just standing there with a pale face. He seems...off, but I can't ask him about that right now.
"Anyway, I think that's all we have to say on the matter." I sighed as I turned towards the gym's exit. "C'mon guys. I want to have a quick meeting about this 'motive'. Is that fine?"
"Of course, Rin." Keebo nodded.
"Yes, I do believe that is for the best." Tenko nodded.
"Then what are we waiting for! Let's go!" Angie cheered. And so, not stopping for anyone, all of us Student Council members left the gym and headed to Angie's Research Lab. Why her lab again? It's the only one that has a lock we can use so no one disturbs us during our meeting. I couldn't help but feel slightly nervous about all of this, but I pushed the feeling down. This is something we have to do. As the oldest one here, I have to take responsibility and make sure to guide everyone down the right path. This is the right thing to do. Or so I hope.
