Kyoudaishipping (Mana x Mahad x Atem)
. . .
"I think this was a terrible idea."
"Nope, this was the best idea ever."
Mana's cheeks were almost completely puffed out in an attempt to stop herself from laughing, and they almost glowed with a deep blush – although whether that was mirth or the alcohol or both was up for debate. Mahad looked really, really uncomfortable, sitting at the table with his headdress placed to the side, cupping his mug rather gingerly.
The source of his discomfort was, of course, the fact that a red-cheeked Atem kept hugging him and hanging from his shoulders.
"You are so tall," Atem said vaguely.
Mana's laugh exploded from puffed out cheeks.
"Oh my gosh, he can't hold his wine at all," she said, gasping for breath, she was laughing so hard. She wasn't normally this mirthful; that was probably due to the alcohol as well.
"Okay, okay, your turn," Mana said to Mahad.
"Mana..."
"Master, it's the festival of Sekhmet! We're supposed to get drunk! It's your turn!"
Mahad sighed. He had far more alcohol tolerance than his two younger friends, but he hadn't quite drank as much as them either. This stuff they were serving at the Festival was far stronger than the normal beer these two were used to.
"I can't get drunk, Mana, I'm supposed to be on duty," Mahad said.
"Come ooooon, master! Whoever's still sitting upright at the end wins!"
"Yeah, Mahad, you gotta play," Atem said, grinning at him. "It's a game..."
"I guess I'm winning then," Mahad said, rolling his eyes. Honestly, the second Mana made it into a challenge, Atem hadn't been able to refuse. He might be a whiz at every other game he would play, but it was clear that Mana was going to be the victor of this challenge.
"Just one more drink, Mahad, just one more, come on! Go, go, go!"
"Go, Mahad!" Atem said, punching the air. "One more!"
Mahad groaned, closing his eyes against the lights and movement of the furious celebration of Sekhmet, the mob of dancers at the center of the room making him slightly dizzy when combined with the alcohol.
"Chug it! Chug it!" Mana chanted.
Atem joined her in the chant, both of them on either side of him pushing on his arms. They were even more ridiculous than usual when they were drunk.
"You two are going to be the death of me," Mahad groaned.
But he really couldn't stop his smile. With a wink at both of them, he tipped the mug and downed the rest of its contents. Mana squealed with delight and Atem started clapping.
"You're ridiculous. Both of you," Mahad said, putting his mug back down.
"But we're your ridiculouses," said Mana, flopping against him in a half-hug. "Happy Festival of Sekhmet!"
"The next one can't come too soon," Mahad said, shaking his head.
But he placed his hands on their heads and let the sleepy tweens stay there, drifting off among the partying. They did not move for the rest of the night.
